The spin dependence of π0 inclusive production by 24 GeV/c protons has been measured using a polarized target for Fhe Feynman x near 0 in the transverse momentum range 1.0 < pT < 2.5 GeV/c. The results indicate a negative updown asymmetry growing strongly with pT and greater than 50% in absolute value for pT greater than 2 GeV/c.  相似文献

The semi-inclusive one-particle transverse and longitudinal momenta spectra of π± mesons have been studied in the centre-of-mass system for π?p interactions at 40 GeV/c. These data are compared with similar data from pp interactions at 300 GeV/c and lower energies. Distributions in the variables pT/〈pT〉 and pL/〈pL〉 reveal scaling properties, which are found to be substantially independent of the nature of the projectile, of the incident energy and of the prong multiplicity. These spectra are reasonably described by universal functions.  相似文献

The inclusive production of charged hadrons has been measured in αα and αp collisions at nucleon-nucleon c.m. energies (√snn)of 31 and 44 GeV, respectively, for transverse momenta pT up to 5 GeV/c in the central rapidity (y) region. at high pT the yields are consistent with being 4 times and 16 times highere than the ones in pp interactions at y=0, for αp and αα interactions, respectively. However, an enhancement over these factors, as expected from an earlier FNAL experiment, cannot be ruled out.  相似文献

Inclusive spectra of π? production for pp interactions are discussed at 69 GeV/c both in the central and in the fragmentation region and are compared to data at lower and higher energies. The pT dependence of the invariant structure function is also analysed.  相似文献

We present data on the inclusive neutron spectra produced in the forward direction by the interactions of 23.85 GeV/c protons in a copper target. The results are in good agreement with the predictions of the triple-Regge model.  相似文献

The inclusive production of π+ for 0.4≤pT<1.0 GeV/c in pion-nucleus and proton-nucleus collisions at 4.3 GeV/c was measured. A strong A-dependence of the cross sections at high pT is observed to be persistent in the low energy region. The ratio of the cross sections for proton-nucleus and pion-nucleus collisions is also observed to be compatible with the quark-parton picture, for pT>0.6 GeV/c.  相似文献

The transverse momentum spectra of protons participated in the collision processes calculated using UrQMD model simulations have been compared with the pT spectra of participant protons, obtained experimentally in interactions of protons beam with carbon nuclei at momenta of 4.2 GeV/c. Spectral temperatures of participant protons obtained in the experimental and UrQMD model simulated interactions of protons beam with carbon nuclei have been calculated by fitting both spectra with four different fitting functions i.e. Hagedorn Thermodynamic, Boltzmann distribution, Gaussian and exponential functions. These functions are used commonly for describing the hadrons spectra and their spectral temperatures. The most suitable fitting functions among these four functions have also been recommended.

The influence of collision centrality upon spectra of negative particles produced indC, αC and CC interactions at 4.2 GeV/c per nucleon is studied. The netcharge of secondary particles is used as a measure of collision centrality. Comparison with the nucleon-nucleon collisions and with Dubna intranuclear cascade model is presented. The main features of the momentum, rapidity and angular spectra are compatible with the independent, nucleon-nucleon collision picture. Only in thep T spectra, the observed particle excess, for low and highp T , is inconsistent with this approach. In contrast to the pions, the spectra of protons are more sensitive to the collision centrality.  相似文献

The inclusive production cross sections of the charmed mesons D0,D+,Ds + and D*+ have been measured in interactions of 920 GeV protons on C, Ti, and W targets with the HERA-B detector at the HERA storage ring. Differential cross sections as a function of transverse momentum and Feynman’s x variable are given for the central rapidity region and for transverse momenta up to pT=3.5 GeV/c. The atomic mass number dependence and the leading to non-leading particle production asymmetries are presented as well. PACS 13.85.Ni; 24.85.+p; 13.20.Fc  相似文献

We have measured the production of direct photons, π0's, and η's in pp and pp collisions at √s=53 GeV in the range 2≈pT≈6 GeV/c for the central rapidity region |y| 0.4. No statistically significant difference between pp? and pp interactions is observed.  相似文献

Backward emitted protons with momentump>0.3 GeV/c in interactions of neutrino in the energy range 10–200 GeV with photoemulsion nuclei were investigated. Energy spectrum slope parameter of backward protons was measured to beT 0=48.9±7.9 MeV. TheA-dependence power index of relative mean yield of backward protons was found to bea=0.68±0.12. A drop in the mean yield of backward protons at the four momentum squared over ~15 (GeV/c)2 (the neutrino energy over ~50 GeV) was observed.  相似文献

New data on the production of protons, anti-protons and neutrons in p+p interactions are presented. The data come from a sample of 4.8 million inelastic events obtained with the NA49 detector at the CERN SPS at 158 GeV/c beam momentum. The charged baryons are identified by energy loss measurement in a large TPC tracking system. Neutrons are detected in a forward hadronic calorimeter. Inclusive invariant cross sections are obtained in intervals from 0 to 1.9 GeV/c (0 to 1.5 GeV/c) in transverse momentum and from ?0.05 to 0.95 (?0.05 to 0.4) in Feynman x for protons (anti-protons), respectively. p T integrated neutron cross sections are given in the interval from 0.1 to 0.9 in Feynman x. The data are compared to a wide sample of existing results in the SPS and ISR energy ranges as well as to proton and neutron measurements from HERA and RHIC.  相似文献

We study the production of identified charged particles in pp collisions at a c.m. energy of 63 GeV in events with an identified high-pT trigger particle. The measurements were performed at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings using the Axial Field Spectrometer.Production ratios are presented as a function of pT in the range 2.5 to 8 GeV/c.  相似文献

Results are presented that were obtained by measuring single-spin asymmetry in the inclusive production of neutral pions in the reaction p+p ↑→ π 0+X at x F≈0. A beam of 70-GeV protons was extracted directly from the vacuum chamber of the accelerator by means of a bent single crystal. For transverse momenta in the range 1.0<p T<3.0 GeV/c, the single-spin asymmetry independently measured by two detectors is zero within the errors. This result is in agreement with Fermilab data obtained at 200 GeV, but it is at odds with CERN data measured at 24 GeV.  相似文献

New results on the inclusive and semi-inclusive production of π+ mesons and protons in the whole phase space are given for about 2.2 · 104 inelastic pp interactions at 22.4 GeV/c. A method of statistical separation for spectra of particles of the same charge which are produced in CP-symmetrical reactions is discussed in detail. Experimental data are compared with quark-parton model predictions.  相似文献

Preliminary measurements have been made at centre of mass energies √s = 31 and 44 GeV of the π, K and p production ratios at 90° for pT between 2.0 and 3.5 GeV/c. The (K+p)/π ratio is given down to pT = 1.4 GeV/c. No strong energy dependence is observed for these transverse momenta.  相似文献

The spin dependence of inclusive proton and pion production by 7.9 GeV/c protons has been measured using a polarized proton target, for nominal values of x = pLcm/pmaxcm = 0.7 in the transverse momentum range 0.4 GeV/c <ppt < 1.2 GeV/c, and for pt = 0.4 GeV/c in the range 0.1 < x < 0.96. The results indicate a positive asymmetry of +5% over this kinematic region, which corresponds to fragmentation of the unpolarized proton.  相似文献

Properties of secondaries associated with a high-p T charged trigger particle (3<p T <5 GeV/c) were studied for αp and αα interactions at c.m. energies \(\sqrt s = 88\) GeV and 125 GeV, respectively. Thep T distributions of secondaries in the away-jet and trigger-jet regions were compared with those for high-p T pp interactions. No statistically significant differences were seen, except at lowp T . Momentum and angular distributions of spectator and leading protons were studied as a function of charge and rapidity of the trigger hadron. The observed correlations between trigger charge and number of spectator protons provide evidence of valence quark contributions to the trigger jet.  相似文献

We have measured correlations between single high-pT(1.5<pT<3.5 GeV/c) trigger particles on one side of the beam line and groups of particles entering a calorimeter on the opposite side of the beam line. The mean transverse momentum measured in the calorimeter is found to increase with the trigger-particle transverse momentum. The coplanarity of the events increases with trigger-particle transverse momentum. We have compared our data with the predictions of a phenomenological four-jet model. To fit our data we find that we must give large (0.9 GeV/c) mean transverse momenta to the constituents of the initial hadrons.  相似文献
