根据2μm掺铥光纤激光泵浦中红外硫化玻璃光纤拉曼激光器的模型,采用非线性耦合方程组对激光器的性能进行了研究与分析。同时,对激光器各参数包括光纤长度、输出耦合器反射率、光纤散射损耗对激光器性能的影响进行了分析并给出了优化结果。数值仿真结果表明,在一定条件下,2μm泵浦硫化玻璃光纤产生拉曼激光的斜率效率可以超过85%。另外,光纤长度和输出耦合器反射率不仅对输出激光功率的影响很大,而且是相互影响的,必须同时进行优化。结果也表明,输出激光的功率随光纤散射损耗增加急剧线性下降。以上的结果可以用于硫化玻璃光纤级联拉曼激光器的实验指导和优化设计。 相似文献

根据掺铒光纤激光器的速率方程,对线性腔连续掺铒光纤激光器的输出特性进行了详细的理论分析,得到了980 nm泵浦的掺铒光纤激光器在稳态条件下的解析表达式.利用数值模拟结果对光纤激光器的上下能级粒子数和泵浦功率沿光纤长度分布以及泵浦阈值、斜率效率等进行了分析和讨论,并进行了980 nm泵浦的掺铒光纤激光器的实验,实验证明:光纤激光器的阈值与理论计算基本一致. 相似文献

A coaxial erbium doped fiber (EDF) designed to show inherent gain flattening for one of its propagating modes in general supports two or more modes with different gains. In this paper, we show that when such an amplifying coaxial EDF is spliced to a single mode transmission fiber carrying the signal, in general, more than one mode is excited each with its excitation coefficient strongly dependent on wavelength. Due to the interference between these modes, the amplified output coupled to an output single core transmission fiber can be a very sensitive function of the coaxial EDF length, especially around the phase matching wavelength (PMW), and does not show inherent gain flattening. However, due to interference between the two modes, the coaxial fiber acts as a band reject filter at the phase matching wavelength with attenuation and bandwidth depending on fiber parameters. A dual-stage erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) having a flat gain wavelength response throughout L-band transmission window is presented. By applying pump power distribution technique, the pump power is distributed to two different stages with different length of EDF depending on the coupling ratio. By controlling these two parameters, gain of 19.1 dB with small gain variation of less than 0.5 dB and a noise figure of less than 10.5 dB are achieved in this architecture using bidirectional pumping. However, when another 3 dB power coupler is added to split the pump power equally at the second stage in bidirectional, a better noise figure of less than 7.5 dB was obtained. Comparison with a conventional single-stage optical amplifier was made in order to validate the performances of this dual-stage EDFA. 相似文献

本文分析了长波段掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA)的增益系数与Er3+离子浓度的关系.研制了铝共掺杂的高浓度掺铒光纤,以缩短长波段掺铒光纤的长度.用两级泵浦实现了L-波段EDFA.光纤放大器的掺铒光纤总长18m,在1570nm波长处的小信号增益为42.26dB,输出功率为17.5dBm.我们认为,较低的浓度淬灭效应归因于光纤中较高的A1掺杂浓度.当总的输入信号功率为-3dBm时,在1570至1600nm间的7路WDM信号的增益不平坦度仅为0.68dB.. 相似文献

A highly stable erbium-doped fiber (EDF) ring laser with broad tunability is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. It is accomplished by using a few-mode polarization maintaining fiber (FM-PMF) Sagnac interferometer, in which simultaneous Sagnac and modal interferences occur. Continuously tunable output is obtained by exerting the longitudinal strain on the FM-PMF in combination with adjusting a polarization controller (PC) next to the FM-PMF in the Sagnac interferometer. In addition, the adverse impact of uneven EDF gain distribution on the laser output power uniformity may be offset by the PC-dependent transmission loss of the FM-PMF Sagnac interferometer and reflected backward C-band amplifier spontaneous emission from the pumped EDF. During the whole tuning process, the tunable span covers more than 40 nm with the output power flatness better than 1 dB, 3 dB spectral linewidth narrower than 0.1 nm and optical signal-to-noise extinction ratio higher than 45 dB. 相似文献

提出了一种结构新颖的L波段环形腔掺铒光纤激光器。用掺铒光纤作为增益介,采用980nm激光器作为前向抽运源,利用起偏器和偏振控制器获得L波段激光,利用光环形器将后向的放大自发辐射再引入铒光纤的前端,重复利用。当抽运功率为103mW时得到了阈值功率约为23.87mW,输出功率达6.34mW的激光输出,斜率效率约为8.05%,与没有重复利用后向放大自发辐射谱的掺铒光纤激光器做比较,该结构对L波段掺铒光纤激光器的性能有明显的提升作用。对于长度不合适的铒纤,在没有重复利用后向放大自发辐射谱时没有获得激光输出;而在利用后向放大自发辐射后,在阈值功率约为88mW时得到了激光输出,从而很好地证明了上述结论。 相似文献

A passively self-starting mode-locked fiber ring laser is demonstrated using a highly concentrated Erbium doped fiber (EDF) with a saturable absorber. The effect of EDF length on the performance of the laser is investigated. Stable stretched pulses are obtained at wavelength region of 1560nm with a repetition rate ranging from 10.1 to 12.1 MHz and a pulse width stretching from 0.52 to 0.75 ps as the EDF length is reduced from 4.5 to 1.5 m. The repetition rate goes higher as the cavity length decreases when a shorter EDF is used but the pulse width reduces as the EDF length increases since the total group velocity dispersion (GVD) in the cavity is close to zero. Here, two tunable bandpass filters (TBFs) are used inside the dual-ring gain cavity to generate dual-wavelength lasing. And,
