For comprehending the propagation characteristics of surface acoustic waves (SAW) on novel piezoelectric crystal Langatate (LGT), the numerical analysis of the most important propagation characteristics of surface acoustic waves (SAW) on LGT are presented and compared with that of quartz. The results are that the phase velocity on LGT is generally about 1000 m/s slower than that on quartz; there are zero temperature cuts and pure mode directions on LGT; the electromechanical coupling coefficient (K^2) of LGT is larger than that of quartz. The results show that LGT has lower propagation velocity, higher electromechanical coupling coefficient, good temperature stability and other good characteristic. The results also show that there are somewhat deviations with different material constants, especially, the temperature coefficient of frequency. 相似文献

A new kind of non-contact linear actuator (motor) driven by surface acoustic waves (SAWs) is presented, in which the stators are made from SAW delay lines using 128° YX-LiNbO3 substrates. A fluid layer is introduced between the slider and the stator of the actuator, and the slider is a circular aluminum disk suspended on the surface of the liquid (water) layer. As the SAW is excited on the stator, the SAW is converted to a leaky wave in the interface of the stator and the liquid, and then propagates into the liquid. Owing to the nonlinear effect of wave propagation, acoustic streaming is generated, which pushes the slider to move. By the experiments, the relations between the slider velocity and the experimental parameters, such as the exciting voltage of the SAWs, the thickness and the kinematic viscosity of the liquid layer, are obtained. 相似文献

We present a laser ultrasonic method to investigate a titanium nitride(TiN) coating specimen.The technique is based on the principle of surface acoustic wave (SAW) dispersion during acoustic propagation on a half-space with the presence of a thin layer.Due to the high efficiency of laser line-source excitation,we have been able to generate and detect a SAW with an excellent signal-to-noise ratio in a wide frequency band.An inverse fitting algorithm was employed to extract simultaneously the thickness and the elastic parameters of the TiN coating from the experimental SAW velocity dispersion curve. 相似文献

On the surface of 128° yx-LiNbO3 substrate, two pairs of Inter-Digital Transducers (IDTs) are parallelly arranged in the propagation direction, which is a stator of surface acoustic wave (SAW) rotary motors. A plastic disk with small balls distributed around the circumference is a rotor. When a high frequency voltage is inputted to two IDTs, two Rayleigh wave beams are generated and are propagating on the substrate in opposite directions with each other. The resulting local relative motion between the particles of the stator and the balls produces two inverse frictional forces to form a moment to drive the rotor. The experimental results and theoretical analysis and calculation for two operating frequencies are accomplished and discussed. 相似文献

A theoretical analysis for the laminar boundary layer flow of a non-Newtonian fluid on a continuous moving flat plate with surface strong suction/blowing is made. The types of potential flows necessary for similar solutions to the boundary layer are determined and both analytical and numerical solutions are presented. It is shown that the solution of the boundary layer problem depends not only on the ratio of the velocity of the plate to the velocity of the free stream, but also on the suction/blowing parameter. The skin friction decreases with increasing the parameters of power law and blowing. In the case of existing suction, the shear force decreases with the increases of tangential velocity, the largest shear force occurs at wall and the smallest shear force occurs at the edge of the boundary laryer. However, in the case of existing surface blowing, the shear force initially increases with tangential velocity and the biggest shear force occurs at the interior of the boundary layer, the skin friction approaches to zero as the blowing rate approaches the critical value. 相似文献

Peristaltic motion induced by a surface acoustic wave of a viscous, compressible and electrically conducting Maxwell fluid in a confined parallel-plane microchannel through a porous medium is investigated in the presence of a constant magnetic field. The slip velocity is considered and the problem is discussed only for the free pumping case. A perturbation technique is employed to analyze the problem in terms of a small amplitude ratio. The phenomenon of a “backward flow” is found to exist in the center and at the boundaries of the channel. In the second order approximation, the net axial velocity is calculated for various values of the fluid parameters. Finally, the effects of the parameters of interest on the mean axial velocity, the reversal flow, and the perturbation function are discussed and shown graphically. We find that in the non-Newtonian regime, there is a possibility of a fluid flow in the direction opposite to the propagation of the traveling wave. This work is the most general model of peristalsis created to date with wide-ranging applications in biological, geophysical and industrial fluid dynamics. 相似文献

In this paper, a computational modeling study of stream propagation in the atmospheric-pressure helium plasma in ambient atmosphere(oxygen) is presented. A coupled fluid model between time-dependent plasma dynamics and steady state neutral gas flow is employed to provide a fundamental insight into the evolution of the streamers. The obtained simulation results showing that the sheath forms near the dielectric surface and shields the axial stream propagation. The stream front propagates with axial velocity in a range of 104m/s–105m/s. And, the increasing accumulated surface charge should be responsible for reducing the propagation velocity of the streamer front in the axial direction. Besides, when the gas flow rate is 1.1 standard liter per minute(SLM), we find that the concentration of oxygen drastically increases at a larger radial position near a treated surface. Therefore, Penning ionization by helium metastables and oxygen peaks at an off-axis position, corresponding to the ring-shaped emission profile in cylindrical coordinates. In this case, the simulated results show the ring-shaped ground atomic oxygen density profile near the treated surface(z = 0.5 mm) at a large gas flow rate of 1.1 SLM, which is consistent with the observation in a similar experiment. 相似文献

The surface acoustic wave (SAW) technique is a precise and nondestructive method to detect the mechanical charac- teristics of the thin low dielectric constant (low-k) film by matching the theoretical dispersion curve with the experimental dispersion curve. In this paper, the influence of sample roughness on the precision of SAW mechanical detection is inves- tigated in detail. Random roughness values at the surface of low-k film and at the interface between this low-k film and the substrate are obtained by the Monte Carlo method. The dispersive characteristic of SAW on the layered structure with rough surface and rough interface is modeled by numerical simulation of finite element method. The Young's moduli of the Black DiamondTM samples with different roughness values are determined by SAWs in the experiment. The results show that the influence of sample roughness is very small when the root-mean-square (RMS) of roughness is smaller than 50 nm and correlation length is smaller than 20 μm. This study indicates that the SAW technique is reliable and precise in the nondestructive mechanical detection for low-k films. 相似文献

There is a phase transition between quasi-periodic state and intermittent chaos in GOY model with a critical value δ0. When we add a modulated periodic externa/force to the system, the phase transition can also be found with a critical value δe. Due to coupling between the force and the intrinsic fluctuation of the velocity on shells in GOY model, the stability of the system has been changed, which results in the variation of the critical value. For proper intensity and period of the force, δe is unequal to δ0. The critical value is a nonlinear function of amplitude of the force, and the fluctuation of the velocity can resonate with the external force for certain period Te. 相似文献

We investigate the focusing phenomena of a surface acoustic wave (SAW) field generated by a circular-arc interdigital transducer (IDT) on a piezoelectric crystal. A rigorous vector field theory of surface excitation on the crystal we developed previously is used to evaluate the convergent SAW field instead of the prevalent scalar angular spectrum used in optics. The theoretical results show that the anisotropy of a medium has great impact on the focusing properties of the acoustic beams, such as focal length and symmetrical distributions near the focus. A dark field method is used in experiment to observe the focusing of the SAW tield optically. Although the convergent phenomena of SAW field on the anisotropic media or piezoelectric crystals are very complicated, the experimental data are in agreement with those from the rigorous theory. 相似文献

Understanding the coupling of graphene with its local environment is critical to be able to integrate it in tomorrow's electronic devices. Here we show how the presence of a metallic substrate affects the properties of an atomically tailored graphene layer. We have deliberately introduced single carbon vacancies on a graphene monolayer grown on a Pt(111) surface and investigated its impact in the electronic, structural, and magnetic properties of the graphene layer. Our low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy studies, complemented by density functional theory, show the existence of a broad electronic resonance above the Fermi energy associated with the vacancies. Vacancy sites become reactive leading to an increase of the coupling between the graphene layer and the metal substrate at these points; this gives rise to a rapid decay of the localized state and the quenching of the magnetic moment associated with carbon vacancies in freestanding graphene layers. 相似文献

In this note we use some of the results of [3] to derive a general duality theorem for the cohomologies of foliated structures on a manifold. The result is applied to the special case of a symplectic manifold M on which the foliation is given by a complex polarization F in the sense of geometric quantization. We obtain, for example, a rigorous proof of the fact that for a smooth function ƒ on M whose Hamiltonian vector field leaves F invariant, the spectrum of the corresponding prequantization operator v(ƒ) coincides with the spectrum of its transpose, under the above duality. We present a promising coupling device, namely, a terahertz (THz) planar photonic crystal (PhC) lens based on the effective refractive-index contrast between the PhC and the surrounding unpatterned area. Three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain calculations show a 90% power transfer from a 100-microm silicon waveguide to a 10-microm waveguide, and 45% coupling efficiency is confirmed experimentally. These results demonstrate the utility of the PhC lens as an effective approach to coupling into PhC THz circuits. 相似文献
