The energy levels and probabilities of radiative transitions to the ground state of Ni-like ions with Z = 36–51 are calculated. The energies of the upper working level 3d3/24f5/2 [J = 1] and the lower working level 3d3/24d3/2 [J = 1] of self-photo-pumped X-ray lasers along the sequence of Ni-like ions are studied. It is shown that, at the points of intersection of levels of the same parity, a strong interaction of these levels takes place, which leads to a redistribution of the oscillator strengths of the radiative transitions from these levels. Near the intersection points, the emission spectra change abruptly with variation in the nuclear charge Z.  相似文献

The problem of the one-dimensional collisionless expansion of a multicomponent plasma into a vacuum is considered. In the hydrodynamic approximation, an approximate analytical solution for an arbitrary set of ion species with masses M1,..., Mn and charge numbers Z1e, Z2e,..., Zne is found by using the technique of self-similar variables employed by Gurevich, Pariiskaya, and Pitaevskii for the case of single-species ions. A numerical iterative algorithm is developed in which the analytical solution is used as a first approximation.  相似文献

A dimensionless equation containing two dimensionless complexes Z and d 0 was derived from the consideration of the energy balance at the early stage of cylindrical Z-pinch development in a gas. The requirement of the equation invariance under the transformation of stretching (compression) of coordinates and time imply that the Ξ and d 0 complexes are dimensionless similarity invariants of the indicated discharge. These invariants were shown to be quantitative criteria of realization of single, double, triple, etc. cylindrical Z-pinch plasma column compression regimes.  相似文献

This mini-review is dedicated to the 85th birthday of Prof. L.V. Keldysh, from whom we have learned so much. In this paper, we study the potential and electron density depth profiles in surface accumulation layers in crystals with a large and nonlinear dielectric response such as SrTiO3 (STO) in the cases of planar, spherical, and cylindrical geometries. The electron gas can be created by applying an induction D0 to the STO surface. We describe the lattice dielectric response of STO using the Landau–Ginzburg free energy expansion and employ the Thomas–Fermi (TF) approximation for the electron gas. For the planar geometry, we arrive at the electron density profile n(x) ∝ (x + d)–12/7, where dD0–12/7. We extend our results to overlapping electron gases in GTO/STO/GTO heterojunctions and electron gases created by spill-out from NSTO (heavily n-type doped STO) layers into STO. Generalization of our approach to a spherical donor cluster creating a big TF atom with electrons in STO brings us to the problem of supercharged nuclei. It is known that for an atom with a nuclear charge Ze where Z > 170, electrons collapse onto the nucleus, resulting in a net charge Zn < Z. Here, instead of relativistic physics, the collapse is caused by the nonlinear dielectric response. Electrons collapse into the charged spherical donor cluster with radius R when its total charge number Z exceeds the critical value ZcR/a, where a is the lattice constant. The net charge eZn grows with Z until Z exceeds Z* ≈ (R/a)9/7. After this point, the charge number of the compact core Zn remains ≈ Z*, with the rest Z* electrons forming a sparse TF atom with it. We extend our studies of collapse to the case of long cylindrical clusters as well.  相似文献

The energy losses of fast structural ions in collisions with atoms have been considered in the eikonal approximation. The structural ions are ions consisting of a nucleus and a certain number of electrons bound to it. The effect of nuclear charge Z of the ion on its effective deceleration κ(p) (energy losses associated with excitation of only intrinsic ion shells) has been analyzed. It is shown that the allowance for the interaction of an atom with the ion nucleus for Z a Z/v > 1, where Z a is the charge of the atomic nucleus and v is the velocity of collisions in atomic units, considerably affects the value of κ(p), which generally necessitates taking into account nonperturbatively the effect of both charges Z a and Z on κ(p).  相似文献

The effective ion charge,Z eff, represents the average charge of ionsZ i of gasses inside the system, which indicates the level of the impurities in the plasma. Several techniques have been applied to estimateZ eff, like mass spectroscopy, anomaly factor and Bremsstrahlung radiation.
We estimatedZ eff in the IR-T1 tokamak through anomaly factor. The IR-T1 tokamak is a small air-core transformer tokamak with circular cross section and with out conducting shell and divertor. Its aspect ratio is
$$\frac{R}{a} = \frac{{45 cm}}{{12.5 cm}}.$$
For a tokamak discharge of 30 kA plasma current and 1.5 V of loop voltage and by anomaly factor we observed thatZ eff value is about 1.5.  相似文献

Based on the model of point sinks, we consider the problem on the screening of the charge of a moving macroparticle in a nonequilibrium plasma. The characteristic formation times of the polarization cloud around such a macroparticle have been determined by the method of a three-dimensional integral Fourier transformation in spatial variables and a Laplace transformation in time. The screening effect is shown to be enhanced with increasing macroparticle velocity. We consider the applicability conditions for the model of point sinks and establish that the domain of applicability of the results obtained expands with decreasing gas ionization rate and macroparticle size. We consider the problem of charge screening at low velocities and establish that the stationary potential of the moving charge has a dipole component that becomes dominant at large distances. We show that the direction of the force exerted on the dust particle by the induced charges generally depends on the relationship between the transport and loss coefficients of the plasma particles in a plasma. When the Langevin ion recombination coefficient β iL = 4πeμ i exceeds the electron-ion recombination coefficient β ei , this force will accelerate the dust particles in the presence of sinks. In the absence of sinks or when β ei > β iL , this force will be opposite in direction to the dust particle velocity. We also consider the problem on the energy and force of interaction between a moving charged macroparticle and the induced charges.  相似文献

The problem of screening a moving charged dust particle is analyzed in the model of point sinks. Typical time scales for the formation of a polarization cloud around the moving macroscopic particle are found using the three-dimensional integral transform with respect to the spatial coordinates and the Laplace transform in time. It is shown that the stationary potential of a moving charge has a dipole component dominating at sufficiently large distances. The force exerted on a moving charged macroscopic particle by the electric field of induced charges is calculated. It is shown that, in general, the direction of this force depends on the ratio between the transfer coefficient and the decay rate of plasma particles in the plasma. In the presence of sinks, a dust particle is accelerated by this force if the Langevin recombination rate for ions, β iL = 4πeμ i , exceeds the electron-ion recombination rate β ei . In the absence of sinks or if β ei > β iL this force is antiparallel to the dust-particle velocity.  相似文献

The dynamics of charge carriers in doped graphene, i.e., graphene with a gap in the energy spectrum depending on the substrate, in the presence of a Coulomb impurity with charge Z is considered within the effective two-dimensional Dirac equation. The wave functions of carriers with conserved angular momentum J = M + 1/2 are determined for a Coulomb potential modified at small distances. This case, just as any two-dimensional physical system, admits both integer and half-integer quantization of the orbital angular momentum in plane, M = 0, ±1, ±2, …. For J = 0, ±1/2, ±1, critical values of the effective charge Zcr(J, n) are calculated for which a level with angular momentum J and radial quantum numbers n = 0 and n = 1 reaches the upper boundary of the valence band. For Z < Zcr (J, n = 0), the energy of a level is presented as a function of charge Z for the lowest values of orbital angular momentum M, the level with J = 0 being the first to descend to the band edge. For Z>Zcr (J, n = 0), scattering phases are calculated as a function of hole energy for several values of supercriticality, as well as the positions ε0 and widths γ of quasistationary states as a function of supercriticality. The values of ε0* and width γ* are pointed out for which quasidiscrete levels may show up as Breit–Wigner resonances in the scattering of holes by a supercritical impurity. Since the phases are real, the partial scattering matrix is unitary, so that the radial Dirac equation is consistent even for Z > Zcr. In this single-particle approximation, there is no spontaneous creation of electron–hole pairs, and the impurity charge cannot be screened by this mechanism.  相似文献

The problem of pinch stabilisation is of interest in connection with plasma confinement and has been the subject matter of various investigations in recent years, (Kruskal andSchwarzschild, Taylor, Shafranov). The theoretical investigations in the past have been restricted to static equilibrium configurations. It is of some interest to explore whether an initial motion of plasma tends to make the pinch more, or less stable than when the fluid velocity is zero. Keeping this in mind let us investigate theaxisymmetric stability of an infinitely long cylindrical plasma column of radiusR rotating uniformly with angular velocityΩ about theZ-axis, the fluid being assumed to the incompressible, inviscid, and of infinite electrical conductivity. The plasma carries a uniform axial current of densityj 0 and a uniform axial magnetic fieldH 1. The field outside is taken to beH 2 inZ-direction and a toroidal component which is continuous across the boundary.  相似文献

The dislocation-related photoluminescence of n-Ge single crystals with a quasi-equilibrium structure of 60° dislocations is investigated at a temperature of 4.2 K. It is shown that the dislocation-related photoluminescence spectra are described by a set involving from 8 to 13 Gaussian lines with a width of less than 15 meV. With due regard for the data available in the literature, the Gaussian lines with maxima at energies in the range 0.47 < E m ≤ 0.55 eV are assigned to the emission of 90° Shockley partial dislocations involved in quasiequilibrium segments of 60° dislocations with different values of the stacking fault width Δ (Δ = Δ0, Δ < Δ0, and Δ > Δ0). It is revealed that the d8 line at the energy E m = 0.513 eV, which corresponds to the emission of straight segments with the equilibrium stacking fault width Δ0, dominates in the photoluminescence spectra only at dislocation densities N D < 106 cm?2. As the dislocation density N D increases, the intensity of the d8 line decreases with the d7 line (E m ≈ 0.507 eV) initially and the d7 and d6 lines (E m ≈ 0.501 eV) then becoming dominant in the photoluminescence spectrum. The d7 and d6 lines are attributed to the emission of segments with stacking fault widths Δ < Δ0. Possible factors responsible for the formation of stacking faults with particular widths Δ ≠ Δ0 for quasi-equilibrium dislocations are discussed.  相似文献

A modified Poisson-Boltzmann model has been proposed which makes it possible to describe the screening of strongly charged macroparticles in liquid electrolyte Z: Z solutions in the case when parameter B= ZeQ0RT?1(Q0 is the surface electric charge, T is the temperature, ε is the solution permittivity, and Z is the valence of ions) provided that the solution is dilute: κR ≡ (8πZ2e2ni0T)1/2R?1 (ni0 is the equilibrium number density of ions). It is assumed that the charge Q0 of a macroparticle appears as a result of adsorption of ions of a certain polarity on its surface. Quantitative criteria of division of dissolved ions into capable and incapable of adsorption are formulated. For aqueous solutions, the adsorption mechanism always leads to values of B ? 1. It is shown that the charge inversion effect predicted by other authors on the basis of different models must be observed for such solutions for all Z ≥ 1. The effect of Brownian movement of macroparticles on their screening is considered. It is shown that viscous forces emerging during such movement lead to peripheral destruction (“washing out”) of the screening ionic shell of macroparticles and, as a result, to violation of their electroneutrality. This results in the emergence of two types of oppositely charged compound particles with small radii close to R and with radii much larger than R, the charge polarity of the latter being opposite to the polarity of Q0. It is found that both types of ions of compound particles obey the “law of distribution” of the mean energy of their electric field, expressed by formula (29). The problem of ionic screening of gas bubbles accompanied by the formation of bubstons (bubbles stabilized by ions) is considered separately. It is shown that the bubston radius R in pure water and in aqueous solutions of electrolytes is equal to 14 nm irrespective of the ion number density ni0. The value of ni0 determines the number density n b of bubstons themselves, which are formed spontaneously under equilibrium conditions.  相似文献

It has been found that the magnitude and sign of exchange interaction between Co(5 nm) and CoNi(5 nm) ferromagnetic layers through Pd depend on magnetization orientation of ferromagnetic layers. If magnetization is oriented in a layer plane, exchange interaction can be both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic. If magnetization orientation is orthogonal to a layer plane, the exchange constant is always positive at dPd<d c and equals zero at dPd>d c (d c is the characteristic length).  相似文献

An asymptotic theory of the screening of the dust-particle charge in a plasma with an external ionization source has been developed. It has been shown analytically that the screening of the charge of a dust particle adsorbing the charge of charged plasma particles that fall on it is not generally described by the Debye theory. The screening radius is determined by the relation between the coefficients βei and βL = 4πek i (k i is the ion mobility) of the electron-ion and Langevin recombinations, respectively. When βL ? β ei , the screening radius is much larger than the electron Debye radius. It has been shown that the contribution of the ion component of an isothermal plasma to screening is equal to the electron contribution if the coefficient of the electron-ion recombination is twice or more larger than the Langevin coefficient of the ion recombination, βei ≥ 2βL.  相似文献

The systematic studies of the arrangement features of single-particle nucleon subshells in even-even 90,92,94,96Zr isotopes and behavior of some known “magicity parameters” in isotopes and isotones neighboring the 96Zr nucleus have led to the interpretation of 96Zr as a new doubly magic nucleus. Analysis of the structure of nucleon shells in the 96Zr nucleus revealed a feature, which consisted in that near the Fermi energy it had filled proton (π1f 5/2) and neutron (v2d 5/2) subshells with an identical and large total momentum j = 5/2, which was called the j-j coupling. Above the π1f 5/2 shell, there is another filled shell (π2p 1/2) with two j = 1/2 protons. Applied to other filled shells, this empirical rule allowed revealing several new nontraditional magic nuclei: 96Sr (Z = 38, N = 58), π1f 5/2, v2d 5/2, and v3s 1/2 subshells; 54Ca (Z = 20, N = 34), π2p 3/2, v1d 3/2, and v2p 1/2 subshells; a pair of 30Si (Z = 14, N = 16) and 30S (Z = 16, N = 14) nuclei, π1d 5/2, v1d 5/2, and (π/v)2s 1/2 subshells; and a pair of 14C (Z = 6, N = 8) and 14O (Z = 8, N = 6) nuclei, 1p 3/2, v1p 3/2, and v2p 1/2 subshells. The existence of the magic nuclei 52,54Ca is widely discussed in the literature, the possibility of the existence of the other nuclei found is confirmed by the systematics of the behavior of the “magicity” parameters. The fact that shells with some nucleon numbers different from the classical magic numbers are closed may be due to the manifestation of a new type of interaction between nuclear protons and neutrons occupying certain subshells.  相似文献

The azimuthal anisotropy of the emission of fragments and relativistic particles in collisions between 56Fe nuclei of momentum 2.5 GeV/c per nucleon and photoemulsion nuclei is measured. For semicentral collisions at impact-parameter values in the range 0.12 ≤ b/bmax ≤ 0.70, charged fragments and relativistic particles are predominantly emitted in the direction orthogonal to the nuclear-reaction plane. The azimuthal-asymmetry parameter P2 for fragments whose charge numbers are Z = 1, 2 and Z ≥ 3 takes values of, respectively, ?0.192±0.057, ?0.28±0.07, and ?0.39±0.12. Evaporated b particles have an isotropic azimuthal distribution.  相似文献

We prove that the maximum number N c of non-relativistic electrons that a nucleus of charge Z can bind is less than 1.22Z + 3Z 1/3. This improves Lieb’s upper bound N c  < 2Z + 1 Lieb (Phys Rev A 29:3018–3028, 1984) when Z ≥ 6. Our method also applies to non-relativistic atoms in magnetic field and to pseudo-relativistic atoms. We show that in these cases, under appropriate conditions, \({\limsup_{Z \to \infty}N_c/Z \le 1.22}\).  相似文献

The interaction ΔUAMM of the Dirac particle anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) with the Coulomb field of a nucleus and its effect on the low-lying atomic levels are studied for Zα > 1 using both perturbative and essentially nonperturbative approaches. The Zα dependence of particle wavefunctions (WFs) is fully taken into account from the beginning. In deriving the ΔUAMM contribution, the nucleus is viewed either as a uniformly charged extended Coulomb source or as a distributed system formed by pointlike u and d quarks. When estimated nonperturbatively, the ΔUAMM-induced effects in the Dirac equation framework prove to be identical for these two cases. At the same time, the ΔUAMM-induced effect is specific in that its perturbative and nonperturbative estimates are very different for Δg ? const and practically identical as soon as the dynamical screening of AMM at short distances is taken into account in the Dirac equation.  相似文献

Charging of dust particles in a plasma with the two-temperature energy distribution of electrons has been studied. It has been shown that the dust-particle potential divided by the electron temperature decreases with increasing electron temperature in the plasma with cold ions. Owing to this behavior, the potential of the dustparticle surface increases with the electron temperature more slowly than the linear function and is lower than the electron temperature (divided by the elementary charge) for T e > 5.5 eV in hydrogen and for T e > 240 eV in argon. The fraction of fast electrons at which these electrons begin to contribute to the charge of dust particles has been determined. It has been shown that the charge of micron particles can reach 106 elementary charges. The effect of the cold and thermal field emission on the charge of dust particles has been analyzed. The possibility of obtaining ultrahigh charges (to 107 elementary charges on dust particles with a radius of 50–100 μm irradiated by a 25-keV 1-mA electron beam has been demonstrated.  相似文献

The effects induced by the interaction ΔUAMM of the anomalous component of the electron magnetic moment with the Coulomb field of a nucleus at Zα > 1 are examined for the lower levels of a hydrogen-like atom within purely perturbative and essentially nonperturbative in α/π approaches. Owing to the specific features of the ΔUAMM operator for a point-like Coulomb source, the distribution of the charge over the volume of the nucleus is set in the nonperturbative case at the quark structure level using valence (constituent) u and d quarks. It is demonstrated that such nonperturbative analysis turns out to be nontrivial as well as the manner in which its results are altered in the transition from the central problem with spherical symmetry to the inclusion of the peripheral contribution. It is also demonstrated that these methods yield matching (with an accuracy no worse than 0.1%) results for the shift of levels 1s1/2 and 2p1/2 due to ΔUAMM at all values of Z through to critical ones. Thus, it is confirmed that the perturbation theory in α/π provides correct results for superheavy atoms if the complete dependence of the wave function on Zα is taken into account from the beginning.  相似文献
