Topological invariants in terms of the Green’s function in momentum and real space determine properties of smooth textures within topological media. In space dimension d = 1 the topological invariant N 3 in terms of the Green’s function (ω, k x , x) determines the fermion number of the kink, while in space dimension d = 3 the topological invariant N 5 in terms of the Green’s function (ω, k x , k y , k z , z) determines quantization of Hall conductivity in the soliton plane within the topological insulators.  相似文献

We propose a way of making graphene superconductive by putting on it small superconductive islands which cover a tiny fraction of graphene area. We show that the critical temperature, T c , can reach several Kelvins at the experimentally accessible range of parameters. At low temperatures, T T c , and zero magnetic field, the density of states is characterized by a small gap E g T c resulting from the collective proximity effect. Transverse magnetic field H g (T) ∝ E g is expected to destroy the spectral gap driving graphene layer to a kind of a superconductive glass state. Melting of the glass state into a metal occurs at a higher field H g2(T). The article is published in the original.  相似文献

In quantum theory, physical amplitudes are usually presented in the form of a Feynman perturbation series in powers of coupling constant α. However, it is known that these amplitudes are not regular functions at α = 0. For QCD, we propose new sets of expansion parameters w k (α s ) that reflect singularity at α s = 0 and should be used instead of powers α s k . Their explicit form is motivated by the so-called Analytic Perturbation Theory. These parameters reveal saturation in a strong coupling case at the level α s eff (α s 1) = w 1(α s 1) ∼ 0.5. They can be used for the quantitative analysis of divers low-energy amplitudes. We argue that this new picture with non-power sets of perturbation expansion parameters, as well as the saturation feature, is of a rather general nature. We study the family of Landau Hamiltonians on a Riemann surface S by means of a Nahm transform and an integral functor related to the Fourier-Mukai transform associated to its jacobian variety J(S). This approach allows us to explicitly determine the spectral bundles associated to the holomorphic Landau levels. As a first main result we prove that these spectral bundles are holomorphic stable bundles with respect to the canonical polarization of J(S) determined by the theta divisor .The spectral bundles are endowed with a natural connection and the adiabatic charge transport properties of the corresponding Landau levels are determined by the adiabatic curvature of , which coincides with the curvature of the determinant bundle det . By means of the theory of analytic torsion and determinant bundles developed by Bismut, Gillet and Soulé we compute the adiabatic curvature of the spectral bundles on an arbitrary Riemann surface. We prove that all the holomorphic Landau levels have the same charge transport coefficients but their adiabatic curvatures differ by a term which involves the relative analytic torsion of different powers of the canonical bundle of S twisted by a fixed line bundle.  相似文献

It is shown that a 25(20)% difference between the decay constants ( ) and f D (f B ) occurs due to large differences in the pole masses of the s and d(u) quarks. The values η D = /f D ∼ 1.23(15), recently observed in the CLEO experiment, and η B = /f B ∼ 1.20, obtained in unquenched lattice QCD, can be reached only if, in the relativistic Hamiltonian the running mass, m s at low scale is m s (∼0.5 GeV) = 170–200 MeV. Our results follow from the analytical expression for the pseudoscalar decay constant f P based on the path-integral representation of the meson Green’s function. Asymptotic formulae of some expectation values related to the relativistic corrections in inverse powers of the internuclear distance R for the lsσ g electron state of hydrogen molecular ion H2+ and the lsσ molecule-like state of antiprotonic helium atom He+ are obtained with the use of the first-order perturbation function. Using these asymptotic formulae, the relativistic correction of order mα6 for these states in reciprocal powers of the internuclear distance R is derived to accuracy of (R −4). Dephasing in open quantum chaotic systems has been investigated in the limit of large system sizes to the Fermi wavelength ratio, LF 〉 1. The weak localization correction g wl to the conductance for a quantum dot coupled to (i) an external closed dot and (ii) a dephasing voltage probe is calculated in the semiclassical approximation. In addition to the universal algebraic suppression g wl ∝ (1 + τDϕ)−1 with the dwell time τD through the cavity and the dephasing rate τ ϕ −1 , we find an exponential suppression of weak localization by a factor of ∝ exp[− /τϕ], where is the system-dependent parameter. In the dephasing probe model, coincides with the Ehrenfest time, ∝ ln[LF], for both perfectly and partially transparent dot-lead couplings. In contrast, when dephasing occurs due to the coupling to an external dot, ∝ ln[L/ξ] depends on the correlation length ξ of the coupling potential instead of λF. In the framework of the spectral integral equation, we consider the states and their radiative transitions. We reconstruct the interaction on the basis of data for the levels of the bottomonium states with J PC = 0−+, 1−−, 0++, 1++, 2++ as well as the data for the radiative transitions γ (3S) → γχbJ(2P) and γ(2S) → γχbJ(1P) with J = 0, 1, 2. We calculate bottomonium levels with the radial quantum numbers n ≤ 6, their wave functions, and corresponding radiative transitions. The ratios Br[χbJ(2P) → γγ(2S)]/Br[χbJ(2P) → γγ(1S)] for J = 0, 1, 2 are found to be in agreement with data. We determine the component of the photon wave function using the data for the e + e annihilation, e + e → γ(9460), γ(10 023), γ(10 036), γ(10 580), γ(10 865), γ(11 019), and predict partial widths of the two-photon decays ηb0 → γγ, χb0 → γγ, χb2 → γγ for the radial excitation states below the threshold (n ≤ 3). A novel model system is proposed for the study of superconductor-insulator transitions that is a regular lattice whose each link consists of a Josephson-junction chain of N ≫ 1 junctions in sequence. The theory of such an array is developed for the case of semiclassical junctions with the Josephson energy E J larger compared to the Coulomb energy E C = e 2/2C of the junctions. An exact duality transformation is derived that transforms the Hamiltonian of the proposed model into a standard Hamiltonian of a JJ array. The nature of the ground state is controlled (in the absence of random offset charges) by the parameter qN 2 exp with the superconductive state corresponding to small q < q c . The values of q c are calculated for magnetic frustrations f = 0 and f = 1/2. The temperature of the superconductive transition T c (q) and q < q c is estimated for the same values of f. In the presence of strong random offset charges, the T = 0 phase diagram is controlled by the parameter ; the critical value and the critical temperature at zero magnetic frustration are estimated. Let f(ϕ) be a positive continuous function on 0 ≤ϕ≤Θ, where Θ≤ 2 π, and let ξ be the number of two-dimensional lattice points in the domain Π R (f) between the curves r=(R+c 1/R)f(ϕ) and r=(R+c 2/R)f(ϕ), where c 1<c 2 are fixed. Randomizing the function f according to a probability law P, and the parameter R according to the uniform distribution μ L on the interval [a 1 L,a 2 L], Sinai showed that the distribution of ξ under P×μ L converges to a mixture of the Poisson distributions as L→∞. Later Major showed that for P-almost all f, the distribution of ξ under μ L converges to a Poisson distribution as L→∞. In this note, we shall give shorter and more transparent proofs to these interesting theorems, at the same time extending the class of P and strengthening the statement of Sinai. Nearly a 50% decrease of the resistivity ρ(T, x) is observed upon just 4% Cu doping at the Mn site of La2/3Ca1/3Mn1−x CuxO3. When the observed phenomenon is attributed to a decrease of the spin-polaron energy E σ(x) below T C (x), all of the data are found to be well fitted by the nonthermal coherent tunneling expression , assuming that the magnetization in the ferromagnetic state is given by the expression . The best fits through all the data points suggest and E σ(x)≃E σ(0)(1−x)4 for the explicit x dependence of the Cu-induced modifications of the Mn-spin-dominated zero-temperature spontaneous magnetization, residual paramagnetic contribution, and spin-polaron tunneling energy, respectively, with E σ(0)=0.12 eV. We perform a non-perturbative chiral study of the masses of the lightest pseudoscalar mesons. In the calculation of the self-energies we employ the S -wave meson-meson amplitudes taken from Unitary Chiral Perturbation Theory (UCHPT) that include the lightest nonet of scalar resonances. Values for the bare masses of pions and kaons are obtained, as well as an estimate of the mass of the η8 . The former are found to dominate the physical pseudoscalar masses. We also match our results with the self-energies from Chiral Perturbation Theory (CHPT) to O(p 4) , and resum higher orders from our calculated self-energies. A robust relation between several O(p 4) CHPT counterterms is then obtained. By taking into account values determined from previous chiral phenomenological studies of m s/ and 3L 7 + L r 8(M ρ) , we determine a tighter region of favoured values for the O(p 4) CHPT counterterms 2L r 6(M ρ) - L r 4(M ρ) and 2L r 8(M ρ) - L r 5(M ρ) . This determination perfectly overlaps with the recent determinations to O(p 6) in CHPT. We warn about a likely reduction in the value of m s/ by higher loop diagrams and that this is not systematically accounted for by present lattice extrapolations. We also provide a favoured interval of values for m s/ and 3L 7 + L r 8(M ρ) .  相似文献

The pentalogy (Mallios, A. and Raptis, I. (2001). International Journal of Theoretical Physics 40, 1885; Mallios, A. and Raptis, I. (2002). International Journal of Theoretical Physics 41, 1857; Mallios, A. and Raptis, I. (2003).International Journal of Theoretical Physics 42, 1479; Mallios, A. and Raptis, I. (2004). ‘paper-book’/research monograph); I. Raptis (2005). International Journal of Theoretical Physics (to appear)is brought to its categorical climax by organizing the curved finitary spacetime sheaves of quantumcausal sets involved therein, on which a finitary (:locally finite), singularity-free, background manifold independent and geometrically prequantized version of the gravitational vacuum Einstein field equations were seen to hold, into a topos structure . We show that the category of finitary differential triads is a finitary instance of an elementary topos proper in the original sense dueto Lawvere and Tierney. We present in the light of Abstract Differential Geometry (ADG) a Grothendieck-type of generalization of Sorkin’s finitary substitutes of continuous spacetime manifoldtopologies, the latter’s topological refinement inverse systems of locally finite coverings and their associated coarse graining sieves, the upshot being that is also a finitary example of a Grothendieck topos. In the process, we discover that the subobject classifier Ω fcq of is a Heyting algebra type of object, thus we infer that the internal logic of our finitary topos is intuitionistic, as expected. We also introduce the new notion of ‘finitary differential geometric morphism’ which, as befits ADG, gives a differential geometric slant to Sorkin’s purely topological acts of refinement (:coarse graining). Based on finitary differential geometric morphisms regarded as natural transformations of the relevant sheaf categories, we observe that the functorial ADG-theoretic version of the principle of general covariance of GeneralRelativity is preserved under topological refinement. The paper closes with a thorough discussion of four future routes we could take in order to further develop our topos-theoretic perspective on ADG-gravity along certain categorical trends in current quantum gravity research. The hyperfine splittings in heavy quarkonia are studied in a model-independent way using experimental data on dielectron widths. Relativistic correlations are taken into account together with the smearing of spin-spin interaction. The radius of smearing is fixed by known G/ψ−η c(1S), ψ(2S)−η c′(2S) splittings, which appears to be small, r ss ≅ 0.06 fm. Nevertheless, even with such a small radius, substantial suppression of hyperfine splittings (∼50%) is observed in bottomonium. For nS b states (n = 1, 2, ..., 6), our predicted splittings (in MeV) are 28, 12, 10, 5, 6, 3. For the 3S and 4S charmonium states, the splittings 16(2) and 12(4) MeV are obtained. Symmetry analysis reveals all types of singularities of the edge states in two-dimensional systems with a boundary (2D → 1D systems), which are invariant under time reversal. Symmetry reasons also provide the matching condition for material functions parameterizing the Hamiltonian at various points of the Brillouin zone. The unified parameterization of the Hamiltonian makes it possible to construct the mapping of trajectories closed in the quasimomentum k in the Brillouin zone into the SU(2) topological group. There are only two equivalence classes of Hamiltonians, which are given by the elements of the first fundamental group . The first type of surface states corresponds to a normal insulator and the second type corresponds to a topological spin-Hall insulator. Comparison with the classification based on the Pfaffian method is performed.  相似文献

It is shown that BR b1(1 P)→e + e )≃3.3· 10−7 and BR c1(1 P)→e + e )≃10−8. This gives realistic possibilities for searching for the production of χ b1(1 P) and ξ c1(1 P) states in e + e collisions, even on the present-day colliders, to say nothing of b and c-τ factories.
