第七届近代声学(超声学)国际研讨会在南京举行

ＰＥＥ是“国际物理实验教育学术研讨会（Ｉｎｔｅｒｎａ－ｔｉｏｎａｌ Ｃｏｎｆｅｒｅｎｃｅ ｏｎ Ｐｈｙｓｉｃｓ Ｅｄｕｃａｔｉｏｎ ｔｈｒｏｕｇｈ Ｅｘｐｅｒｉ－ｍｅｎｔｓ）”的缩写．该会是ＩＣＰＥ（国际物理教育委员会）和ＡＳＰＥＮ（亚洲物理教育网）联合组织的一次国际学术活动，已于１９９０年４月２３—２７日于天津南开大学举行．我刊从本期起将在本栏目中选登有关ＰＥＥ会议中外学者的部分发言和作品，供读者参考．在每篇文章的题目前加上该会的会徽作为标志．

加强实验室物品管理的新举措

为加强对实验室内所有物品的管理,并且解决在“双基”实验室评估工作中对“低值耐用品”概念的不同解释,我们物理实验中心创新设计出了一种“实验室管理卡”,通过它实现了对各种物品的规范化管理,所有物品都有帐可查。

 该文指出了在光学玻璃折射率测量中目前使用的气压修正公式在折射率精密测量中的不适应与缺陷。并从空气折射率的最新计算公式入手,着重研究和提出了新的环境条件修正公式。指出在不同测试精度和不同测试条件下应采用不同的修正公式。

Interactions between cultural, social and biological explanations for language evolution

This is a reply to commentaries on a target article in this volume reviewing models for the cultural evolution of language. Many commentaries amplify positions taken in this article but they also cover novel issues in social evolution and biological evolution, which are briefly addressed here.     

Review of RGB photoelasticity

Automatic methods of photoelasticity have had a significant progress with the development of automatic acquisition and image processing methods. This article concerns RGB photoelasticity, which allows the determination of the photoelastic retardation using, usually, a single acquisition of the isochromatic fringes in white light by a colour camera. In particular, the article presents an overview of the main characteristics of RGB photoelasticity that is influence of the quarter-wave plate error, number of acquisitions, type of light source, determination of low and high fringe orders, methods for searching the retardation, scanning procedures, calibration on a material different from that under test, combined use of the RGB and phase shifting methods. A short section on the applications of RGB photoelasticity completes the article.     

Comparisons of Performances of a Flat Tube Bank Fin Model Mounted Vortex Generators and the Real Heat Exchanger

Abstract

In this article, we compared the model results obtained by the naphthalene sublimation method with the results obtained by experiments with the real heat exchanger based on the model used in the naphthalene sublimation experiment. The results reveal that in the Reynolds number region studied in the present article, the experimental results obtained by naphthalene sublimation agree with the experimental data of the real heat exchanger under the working conditions within a 10% deviation. The heat/mass transfer coefficient obtained with an isothermal condition using naphthalene sublimation can be applied to the mixed thermal boundary condition. The effects of mounted and punched vortex generators on thermal-hydraulic performances are limited to the configuration studied in this article.
