We present a model describing high power stable broadband coherent synchrotron radiation (CSR) in the terahertz frequency region in an electron storage ring. The model includes distortion of bunch shape from the synchrotron radiation (SR), which enhances higher frequency coherent emission, and limits to stable emission due to an instability excited by the SR wakefield. It gives a quantitative explanation of several features of the recent observations of CSR at the BESSY II storage ring. We also use this model to optimize the performance of a source for stable CSR emission.  相似文献

计算了两个具有非球形扰动的气泡所组成系统的能量,并基于Lagrange方程得到了有声相互作用的非球形气泡的动力学方程和形状稳定性方程,研究了声场中非球形气泡间相互作用力对非球形气泡的形状不稳定性和气泡形状模态振幅的影响.研究结果表明声场中具有非球形扰动的气泡之间的耦合方式有两种:形状耦合模式和径向耦合模式,气泡之间的耦合方式取决于气泡形状扰动模态.由形状耦合及径向耦合产生的气泡之间的相互作用力能够改变单个气泡的形状不稳定及形状模态振幅,具体影响因素取决于声场驱动条件、气泡形状模态、相邻气泡的初始半径.  相似文献

We describe simulations of an elastic filament immersed in a fluid and subjected to a body force. The coupling between the fluid flow and the friction that the filament experiences induces bending and alignment perpendicular to the force. With increasing force there are four shape regimes, ranging from slight distortion to an unsteady tumbling motion. We also find marginally stable structures. The instability of these shapes and the alignment are explained by induced bending and nonlocal hydrodynamic interactions. These effects are experimentally relevant for stiff microfilaments.  相似文献

It is demonstrated that under common conditions a molecular solid subject to Jahn-Teller interactions supports stable Q-ball-like nontopological solitons. Such solitons represent a localized lump of excess electric charge in periodic motion accompanied by a time-dependent shape distortion of a set of adjacent molecules. The motion of the distortion can correspond to a true rotation or to a pseudorotation about the symmetric shape configuration. These solitons are stable for Jahn-Teller coupling strengths below a critical value; however, as the Jahn-Teller coupling approaches this critical value, the size of the soliton diverges signaling an incipient structural phase transition. The soliton phase mimics features commonly attributed to phase separation in complex solids.  相似文献

We report the existence of a second type of recycling mode that occurs for air-seeded bubbles. Observation of period doubling in both the stable, the first type, and the second type of recycling mode, together with simultaneous measurement of the relative phase of light emission compared to the drive, shows that the instability boundaries of period doubling and bubble extinction are mainly determined by the bubble size irregardless of the gas composition. The second type mode seems to represent a link between single-bubble and multibubble sonoluminescence.  相似文献

An analytical asymptotic expression for the equilibrium shape of a charged drop of an ideal incompressible conducting liquid uniformly accelerated in collinear electrostatic and gravitational fields is derived in an approximation quadratic with respect to the deviation of the equilibrium shape of the drop from a sphere. It is found that the equilibrium shape of the drop is close to a prolate spheroid when its self-charge and the external electric field strength are far from their values critical in terms of instability against the self-charge and induced charge. This spheroid experiences an insignificant pear-shaped distortion even when the charge of the drop and the electrostatic field strength are high.  相似文献

Pulsed NMR was used to investigate nuclear spin dynamics of nuclear-ordered solid3He in the low field phase. The nuclear spin motion became unstable under certain conditions. Under stable conditions the spin motion can be described by the OCF equations. The tipping-angle-dependent frequency shift and multiple spin echoes were observed, which are similar to the case of superfluid3He. The onset of the instability of spin motion is attributed to the stimulated emission mechanism through the three-magnon relaxation process, which is similar to the Suhl instability in electronic magnetism. We derived the magnon life time from the analysis of the instability. During the instability, a largenegative frequency shift was observed. This negative shift is explained by the extension of Fomin-Ohmi's theory to include the state of decayed magnon and this explanation is consistent with the instability model.  相似文献

The behavior of an octahedral center created in alkali chloride and bromide single crystals by doping with divalent lead is analyzed using the experimental results from absorption and luminescence measurements. 为了研究阴极微凸起形状对其热不稳定性的影响,采用数值模拟方法研究了不同外加电场条件下,圆柱、圆台和圆锥形等不同形状微凸起的热不稳定性发展过程。结果显示:对于不同形状的微凸起,当微凸起顶部温度达到阴极材料的熔点时,微凸起内部温度分布差异显著,随着微凸起形状由圆柱-圆台-圆锥形变化,微凸起内部温度接近材料熔点的部位越来越少;外加电场相同时,微凸起形状越接近圆锥形,爆炸电子发射延迟时间越长;在阴极表面电场强度高于11 GV/m时,爆炸电子发射延迟时间随着微凸起顶底半径比值的减小或阴极表面电场强度的下降近似成指数规律增长。  相似文献
