Some shortcomings of the approaches that are used to describe T-odd ROT and TRI asymmetries in true ternary fission via reactions involving the emission of prescission alpha particles and which are based on employing the classical method of trajectory calculations are analyzed. These shortcomings are caused by the disregard of the interference between the fission widths of different sJs neutron resonance states formed in the first well of the deformation potential of fissile compound nuclei. It is shown that the method used in some studies to determine T-odd TRI-asymmetries for prescission alpha particles is at odds with basic concepts of the generalizedmodel of the nucleus and approaches to constructing collective (for example, bending) vibrations of a fissile compound nucleus. Quantum-mechanical fission theory is generalized via employing a unified mechanism of formation of T-odd TRI and ROT asymmetries for prescission alpha particles and evaporated photons (neutrons). The proposed mechanism takes correctly into account the effect of quantum rotation of a fissile compound nucleus on the angular distributions of fission fragments and alpha particles for true ternary fission, as well as on the angular distribution of prompt photons (neutrons) emitted by fragments originating from the delayed fission of the aforementioned nuclei.  相似文献

A unified mechanism of the emergence of T-odd ROT- and TRI-asymmetries is proposed for describing experimental T-odd asymmetry coefficients D(θ) in the angular distributions of prescission alphaparticles that are emitted in true ternary and quaternary nuclear fission reactions induced by cold polarized neutrons. The mechanism is related to the different ways in which the Coriolis interaction of the total spin of a polarized compound fissile nucleus with the orbital moment of alpha-particles affects even (for ROT-asymmetries) and odd (for TRI-asymmetries) components of the amplitude of an undisturbed angular distribution of emitted alpha-particles. Coefficients DROT(θ) and DTRI(θ) derived with this mechanism for T-odd ROT- and TRI-asymmetries successfully describe the dependences of corresponding experimental coefficients for 235U and 239Pu nuclei over the range of angles θ, and for the 233U nucleus in the angular range of 60° < θ < 110°. It is explained why only ROT-type T-odd asymmetries emerge for evaporated neutrons and γ-quanta emitted by fission fragments in similar reactions if we allows for the Coriolis interaction of the total spin of the compound fissile nucleus with the orbital moments of the fission fragments and the wriggling vibrations of the above nucleus near its scission point.  相似文献

A probabilistic criterion is proposed for the scission of a fissile nucleus into fragments. The probability of the rupture of the neck between would-be fragments is estimated by considering scission as a fluctuation. The energy of the prescission configuration and the energy of the separated-fragment configuration are computed on the basis of a macroscopic model that takes into account a finite range of nuclear forces and the diffuseness of the nuclear surface. The effect of the probabilistic criterion of nuclear scission on fission-process observables, such as the moments of the mass-energy distribution of fission fragments, the mean multiplicity of prescission neutrons, and mean fission times, is demonstrated. It is shown that the Strutinsky criterion, according to which nuclear scission occurs at a finite neck radius of 0.3R0, is a rather good approximation to the probabilistic scission criterion in Langevin dynamical calculations employing the one-body nuclear-viscosity mechanism modified in such a way that the wall-formula contribution is reduced, the reduction factor satisfying the condition k s <05.  相似文献

We review the experimental results on the P-even and P-odd angular correlations of fission fragments in the fission of the 235U and 239Pu nuclei induced by unpolarized and polarized resonance neutrons, and on the TRI and ROT effects in the ternary and binary fission of actinides induced by polarized thermal neutrons. Also reported are the measured yields of prompt and delayed neutrons per fission event. The experimental data are analyzed within a novel theoretical framework developed by the JINR—RNC KI Collaboration, whereby the reduction of the multidimensional phase space of fission fragments to the JπK-channel space is consistently validated and the role of resonance interference in the observed correlation effects is revealed.  相似文献

The opinion that the K = 0 fission channel is completely closed if the spin J and the parity π of the nucleus undergoing fission do not satisfy the condition (?1) J = π is widespread. On the basis of a detailed analysis of quantum numbers characterizing the rotational states of deformed nuclei, it is shown that this opinion is erroneous. In fact, the K = 0 channel may be partly open. Its suppression is caused by special features of fission barriers in the state being considered. It is also shown that factors that suppress the K = 0channel may exist even in states characterized by J and π values such that they satisfy the condition (?1) J = π. More precise information about the contribution of the K = 0 channel may be obtained by measuring the hexadecapole component of the angular distribution of fragments originating from the slow-neutron-induced fission of aligned nuclei.  相似文献

Conditions for the appearance and observation of prescission gamma rays emitted by a fissioning nucleus prior to its separation into fission fragments were investigated within quantum-mechanical fission theory. It is shown that these conditions are realizable in the gamma decay of isovector electric giant dipole resonances in a fissile nucleus that are excited because of nonadiabaticity of the collective deformation motion of the nucleus at the ultimate stages of its prefission evolution. Angular and energy distributions of prescission gamma rays emitted by unpolarized fissioning nuclei are analyzed. Features of T-odd correlations in angular distributions of gamma rays arising in the fission of unpolarized target nuclei that is induced by polarized cold neutrons are investigated, and it is shown that these correlations are similar in nature to T-odd ROT correlations discovered earlier for alpha particles emitted in the ternary fission of nuclei.  相似文献

Statistical distributions of the coefficients measured for the angular distribution of fragments originating from the fission of 235U oriented nuclei that was induced by resonance neutrons obtained by using booster targets at the electron accelerator in Harwell and at a pulsed reactor in Dubna were approximated by a curve that was calculated under the assumption of a normal distribution of partial-wave fission amplitudes. A cutoff from below at a level of one-half of the average partial-wave width was introduced in this distribution. The calculation was performed with allowance for the K = 0, 1 and 2 channels for J = 3 and the K = 1 and 2 channels for J =4. The contributions of the K channels to the total probability were in the ratio 0.15 : 0.53 : 0.32 for J = 3 and in the ratio 0.625 : 0.375 for J = 4. A strong suppression of the K = 0 channel in the J = 3 spin subsystem in contrast to the situation observed in photofission can be interpreted as an indication of the possible partial conservation of K in resonance states formed from the entrance channel, which features only maximum values of K equal to J and J ? 1.  相似文献

It was shown previously that the fission lifetime of a nucleus excited to about 100 MeV depends strongly and nonmonotonically on the initial value of its angular momentum L 0. This result was obtained on the basis of a refined version of the combined dynamical and statistical model. The present study is devoted to a theoretical analysis of the dependence of the fission time on the nucleonic composition of the nucleus involved. The respective calculations were performed within the same model. The dependence of the average fission time 〈t f 〉 on the initial fissility parameter (Z 2/A)0 appears to be of a resonance type and is similar to its dependence on L 0. This dependence of the average fission time on (Z 2/A)0 stems both from statistical calculations and from a dynamical simulation of the fission mode with allowance for friction. The conditions under which the average fission time reaches a maximum are specified. The dependence of the average fission time on (Z 2/A)0 remains nonmonotonic in the fusion-fission reaction as well, in which case the distribution of compound nuclei with respect to the initial angular momentum is broad.  相似文献

The time-of-flight technique is used to measure the ratios R(E, E n )=N(E, E n )/NCf(E) of the normalized (to unity) spectra N(E, E n ) of neutrons accompanying the neutron-induced fission of 238U at primary-neutron energies of E n =6.0 and 7.0 MeV to the spectrum NCf(E) neutrons from the spontaneous fission of 252Cf. These experimental data and the results of their analysis are discussed together with data that were previously obtained for the neutron-induced fission of 238U at the primary energies of E n =2.9, 5.0, 13.2, 14.7, 16.0, and 17.7 MeV.  相似文献

An experiment has been carried out to study neutron-neutron angular correlations in spontaneous fission of 252Cf. Angular dependences of the number of neutron-neutron coincidences obtained in the experiment were compared with the results of the Monte Carlo calculations for various neutron detection thresholds in the range 425–1600 keV. It was inferred that 10–11% of the total number of prompt neutrons from 252Cf (s.f.) in the laboratory system were emitted isotropically and may probably be interpreted as neutrons directly associated with the instant of scission of the nucleus. The analysis allowed their energy distribution to be determined as well. A similar method was also used to describe the angular correlation of prompt neutrons that accompanied the reaction 235U(n th ,f).  相似文献

The fragment mass yields in fission of 235U induced by thermal neutrons for A = 145–160 and EK = 50–75 MeV were measured using a mass spectrometer. The fine structure is observed at A = 153, 154 and EK = 50–60 MeV. The obtained results were described in the framework of a model based on the dinuclear system concept. The analyzed correlation between the total kinetic energy and mass distribution of fission fragments is connected with the shell structure of the formed fragments of fission. From this correlation and the time dependence of the calculated mass distribution of the binary reaction products, one can conclude that the descent time from a saddle point to a scission point for the more deformed fragments is longer than that for fragments of more compact shape.  相似文献

The sensitivity of the muon attachment probabilities to the light fragments of prompt fission W l on the fission dynamics is discussed. It is shown that the final W l value consists of two contributions: one from the point of scission and a second from avoided crossing of the levels. The relative contribution from the prescission phase turns out to be higher for more asymmetric fission.  相似文献

The spectra of prompt fission neutrons from the reaction 238U(n, F) for neutrons of energy in the range E n ≤ 20 MeV are interpreted within the statistical model. It is shown that exclusive spectra of prefission neutrons emitted in (n, xnf) reactions play a decisive role in describing the observed promptfission-neutron spectra and determine the average energies of prompt-fission neutrons. The dependence of the effect of prefission neutrons on the fissility of a target nucleus is demonstrated for the reactions 232Th(n, F), 235U(n, F), and 239Pu(n, F).  相似文献

The decays τ → (η, η')K–ντ are described in the framework of the extended Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model. Both full and differential widths of these decays are calculated. The vector and scalar channels are considered. In the vector channel, the subprocesses with the intermediate K*(892) and K*(1410) mesons play the main role. In the scalar channel, the subprocesses with the intermediate and K0*(800) and K0*(1430) mesons are taken into account. The scalar channel gives an insignificant contribution to the full width of the decay τ → ηK–ντ. The obtained results are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data. The prediction for the width of the process τ → η′K–ντ is made.  相似文献

Electron spin resonance linewidths of ions belonging to the first transition group with quenched orbital angular momentum are calculated using a modified relaxationmatrix theory including third and fourth order perturbation terms. We base our calculation on a Hamiltonian, which depends on electron spin, nuclear spin, orbital angular momentum, rotation of the whole complex, and vibration of the ligands. Quadrupol effects, intermolecular electron-electron and electron-nucleus interactions are neglected. The results show that the well-known formula of the transverse relaxation time derived by using the spin-Hamiltonian is correct, if first the contribution of the rotational spin orbit process is taken in consideration and second the rotational correlation timeτ c is replaced byτ v =(1/τ c +1/τ(0))?1. 1/τ(0) describes the linewidth of the lowest energy value of the electrostatic energy of unpaired electrons in the ligand field. The linewidth arises from the normal modes of the complex; the calculation gives τ(0)=l0?11...10?12 sec.  相似文献

By employing a beam of reactor fast neutrons, gamma-ray spectra and angular distributions of gamma rays with respect to the neutron-beam axis were measured in the reaction 164Dy(n, n′γ). The scheme of levels and gamma transitions in 164Dy was composed on the basis of data published earlier and new levels, rotational bands, gamma transitions, and multipole-mixing parameters. It is concluded that the scheme of J = 0–4 levels is complete up to the excitation energy of 1.95 MeV. The commonly accepted rule in constructing K n π = 02 + and 11 + rotational bands is found to be violated. The nature of the 2+ level at the energy of 1796.68 keV is discussed.  相似文献

The yield of delayed neutrons, v d , from thermal-neutron-induced fission of 245Cm is measured. Experiments aimed at studying the properties of delayed neutrons from the fission of some reactor isotopes and initiated in 1997 were continued at the upgraded Isomer-M facility by a method according to which a periodic irradiation of a sample with a pulsed neutron beam from the IBR-2 reactor was accompanied by recording emitted neutrons in the intervals between the pulses. The accuracy of the resulting total delayed-neutron yield v d = (0.64 ± 0.02)% is two times higher than that in previous measurements. This work was performed at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna).  相似文献

With the aid of the results obtained by evaluating cross sections of partial photoneutron reactions on the isotope 116Sn and the energy spectra of neutrons originating from these reactions, the possible reasons for the well-known discrepancies between the results of different photonuclear experiments were studied on the basis of a combinedmodel of photonuclear reactions. On the basis of physical criteria of data reliability and an experimental–theoretical method for evaluating cross sections of partial reactions, it was found that these discrepancies were due to unreliably redistributing neutrons between (γ, 1n), (γ, 2n), and (γ, 3n) reactions because of nontrivial correlations between the experimentally measured energy of neutrons and their multiplicity.  相似文献

The spectra of neutrons accompanying the induced fission of 235U target nuclei are described theoretically. It is confirmed that a third neutron source must be introduced in order to reproduce the shape of experimental distributions at high energies of primary neutrons (previously, a third source was used in describing the spectra of neutrons emitted in 232Th and 238U fission). On the basis of experimental results and their analysis, the mean energy of fission neutrons is estimated as a function of the bombarding-neutron energy up to E n = 20 MeV.  相似文献
