This work seeks to identify the slight changes in the characteristic C H stretching region (3100–2800 cm−1) of a protein‐based binder and fatty acid esters from egg yolk, which may occur in complex paint samples due to the presence of particular pigments. To date, this protein region—where historic pigments do not show characteristic Raman bands—has not been used to identify possible interactions between painting materials, in spite of its potential due to the mentioned feature. This study is based on the investigation of pure egg yolk model samples and tempera model samples prepared by mixing this binder with some historic pigments (cinnabar, raw Sienna, lead white, gypsum, calcite, azurite, lapis lazuli and smalt) as binary samples. All samples were analyzed in this region by Raman microscopy (RM) coupled with principal component analysis (PCA) for three color groups (red, white and blue) separately. The results show relevant spectral changes in the C H stretching region of amino acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids esters of the egg yolk binder, particularly in the azurite, lead white and gypsum‐based tempera samples. Lesser interactions were discerned in the tempera samples made with smalt, as well as shift in the region of polyunsaturated fatty acid esters of the egg yolk binder in the cinnabar and raw Sienna‐based tempera paintings. No interactions were recognized between the egg yolk and the pigments calcite and lapis lazuli. 相较于气相色谱-质谱(GC-MS)和高效液相色谱(HPLC),衰减全反射傅里叶变换红外光谱(ATR-FTIR)能实现绘画颜料中蛋白质种类的“不分离即分析”,从而简化分析步骤和减小文物样品的消耗。这项研究验证了ATR-FTIR用于颜料中蛋白质种类鉴别的可行性。以石青和白垩为矿物颜料,牛奶、明胶和鸡蛋为蛋白质粘合剂制备了新鲜样品和经紫外光老化的模拟文物样品,运用二阶导数光谱和主成分分析建立了模式识别模型。结果表明模拟文物样品中蛋白质的种类能通过新鲜样品建立的模型进行识别。因此,ATR-FTIR在文化遗产领域中蛋白质种类的微损和快速鉴别具有巨大的潜力。  相似文献

动物胶和蛋清是古代重要彩绘文物蛋白胶结材料,对其光老化蛋白质结构变化的研究与探索彩绘文物病变机理和选择科学保护材料、修复方法密切相关。以维也纳艺术历史博物馆的动物胶(骨胶、兔皮胶、鲟鱼胶)和蛋清为研究对象,利用红外光谱技术,结合酰胺Ⅰ带去卷积和高斯拟合法研究光老化过程中蛋白质二级结构的改变。结果表明,四种胶光老化后仍然具备蛋白质红外光谱的典型吸收特征。但红外吸收峰出现了不同程度的位移,其中蛋清糖苷键明显蓝移。酰胺Ⅰ带去卷积和高斯拟合结果显示,蛋白胶的二级结构占比发生了改变。其中,骨胶α-螺旋结构占比降低22.24%,逐渐解螺旋,无规则卷曲结构占比明显增高(9.76%);兔皮胶和鲟鱼胶α-螺旋结构占比分别降低5.31%,4.15%,前者无规则卷曲增幅最低(6.96%),后者反而减少,推测两者的光老化稳定性高。蛋清α-螺旋占比降低程度最高(44.45%),无规则卷曲占比增幅极大(27.49%),光老化稳定性最差。证实利用红外光谱技术,结合酰胺Ⅰ带去卷积和高斯拟合法研究文物蛋白胶料二级结构变化的方法是可行的,但其转化机理还需后期进一步探讨。  相似文献

The non‐invasive identification of paint materials used in works of art is essential, both for preserving and restoring them, and also for understanding and verifying the history surrounding their creation. As such, the development of suitable non‐invasive techniques has received much interest in recent years. We have investigated the use of Fourier transform (FT)‐Raman spectroscopy and fibre‐optic reflectance spectroscopy (FORS), together with multivariate principal‐component analysis (PCA) techniques, in order to identify the pigment and binding materials used in made‐up samples representative of real artwork. We demonstrate that both types of spectroscopy provide complementary information which can be used to identify the pigments and binders in paint samples. We show that PCA with FT‐Raman spectra can be used to assist in the identification of oil‐based binders, and that the additional data provided by FORS spectra enables PCA on combined spectra to identify more complex proteinaceious and polysaccharide‐based binding media. The results presented here demonstrate that multivariate analyses of lead‐based paints, using data measured by FT‐Raman and FORS in conjunction, have much potential for identifying individual pigments and binders in paint samples. 文物和艺术品的无损分析是文化遗产科技保护的重点和难点。该研究使用了一种遥感领域的地物光谱仪--便携式全波段高光谱感应器(Analytical Spectral Devices FieldSpec FR Pro 3)分析文物中常用的有机胶料。这种高光谱感应器可以在0.2 s内获得一个350~2 500 nm全波段反射光谱,其波段涵盖了可见光、近红外和短波红外三个区域。该研究选取蛋黄、兔皮胶、亚麻籽油三种中西方古代、现代常用的胶结物作为研究对象,分别以单组分、与不同颜料的混合物两种形式来验证该设备无损分析的可靠性和实用性。首先按照传统绘画技法,使用四种不同颜料与上述胶结物的组合制备彩绘样品。待样品完全干燥后,使用探头直接接触法获取光谱信息,并利用相关软件进行数据处理。实验发现,由于物化本质不同,这三种胶结物的反射光谱在波长1 100~2 400 nm范围内的特征信息差异最为显著。当胶料与无机颜料混合后,这三种有机物的吸收峰位置相对于单组分出现了相同的三种变化:(1)波长1 507 nm处的肩峰消失;(2)波长约为1 943~1 922 nm处的宽峰偏移;(3)位于波长2 050 nm处的原N-H伸展和弯曲合频峰向右移动了约(20~2 070 nm)。值得注意的是,C-H合频和倍频峰在单组分与混合物光谱中的位置保持一致。这一系列谱图变化规律使得从混合物中鉴别胶料具有了可能性。尽管在某些情况下,和其他光谱分析技术类似,混合后无机颜料和有机胶料吸收峰之间的相互干扰会影响胶料的鉴定,但利用其一阶导数光谱能够协助各组分的准确表征。结果表明,该高光谱感应器能够有效鉴别有机胶料;这种快速、无损的分析方法不仅在实验室成分分析中具有可行性,而且其便携的特点也适用于文物保护与修复现场的快速分析,具有较好的实用性。  相似文献

为了判别嘉峪关戏台文物建筑彩画的胶料种类,采用皮胶、鱼鳔胶、蛋清、蛋黄、牛奶为参考样品,使用傅里叶红外光谱仪采集了参考样品及三件文物样品胶料的红外吸收光谱,利用主成分分析结合线性判别分析(PCA-LDA)构建胶料种类判别的数学模型,并应用于文物样品。发现参考样品红外光谱在1 800~1 000 cm-1区间包含了丰富的分子结构特征信息。该区间中蛋白类胶料的共同特征为1 650 cm-1附近的仲酰胺C═O键伸缩振动峰,1 542 cm-1附近的酰胺C-N键伸缩振动和N-H键弯曲振动峰,1 240 cm-1附近的酰胺C-N键伸缩振动峰。此外,蛋黄、皮胶和牛奶因其中含有较多脂类物质,在1 745 cm-1附近还存在饱和脂肪酸酯羰基C═O键伸缩振动峰。在此基础上,通过对参考样品红外吸收光谱主成分得分散点图的分析,发现不同胶料参考样品的红外光谱类间差异显著。据此,使用参考样品红外光谱的主成分得分为训练集,添加类别变量拟合判别函数,绘制函数组质心图并进行交叉验证,得出方程的判别正确率为93.3%。发现因老化降解导致三件文物样品的红外吸收光谱与参考样品光谱有所不同,但仍具有蛋白类胶料的特征。利用PCA-LDA分析模型对文物胶料种类进行判别,结果均为皮胶。该胶料种类判别模型稳定、有效,用该模型判定嘉峪关建筑彩画胶料为动物胶中皮胶。  相似文献

Low emissivity is the complex system and polymer binder is one of the most important factors that affect optical and mechanical properties of the coating. Low infrared emissivity coatings were prepared by using flake aluminum particles and three types of polymer resins as fillers and binders, respectively. The influence of polymer binder viscosity on pigment particles distribution, surface morphology and infrared emissivity of the coating was systematically investigated. The results indicate that infrared emissivity of the coating can be strongly affected by the resin viscosity at the same preparation condition, which induces different aluminum particles distribution and surface morphology of the coating. Low resin viscosity is helpful for aggregating pigments and reducing the top polymer layer thickness near the surface, thus the infrared emissivity is reduced. If the resin viscosity value is decreased by two orders of magnitude, the infrared emissivity values would be reduced as much as 0.2. Additionally, a theoretical model is proposed to account for this mechanism, which indicates that sedimentation, evaporation and diffusion play important roles in forming different aluminum particles distribution during the drying process of the coating.  相似文献

A non-invasive study has been carried out on 18 paintings by Alberto Burri (1915–1995), one of Italy’s most important contemporary painters. The study aims to demonstrate the appropriate and suitable use of portable non-invasive instrumentation for the characterization of materials and techniques found in works dating from 1948 to 1975 belonging to the Albizzini Collection. Sampling of any kind has been forbidden, in order to maintain the integrity of the paintings. Furthermore, the material heterogeneity of each single artwork could potentially result in a poorly representative sampling campaign. Therefore, a non-invasive and in situ analytical approach has been deemed mandatory, notwithstanding the complexity of modern materials and challenging data interpretation. It is the non-invasive nature of the study that has allowed for the acquisition of vast spectral data (a total of about 650 spectra including XRF, mid and near FTIR, micro-Raman and UV–vis absorption and emission spectroscopies). In order to better handle and to extrapolate the most meaningful information from these data, a statistical multivariate analysis, namely principal component analysis (PCA), has been applied to the spectral results. In particular, the possibility of combining elemental and molecular information has been explored by uniting XRF and infrared spectra in one PCA dataset. The combination of complementary spectroscopic techniques has allowed for the characterization of both inorganic and organic pigments, extenders, fillers, and binders employed by Alberto Burri.  相似文献

This work explores the application of chemometric techniques to Raman spectra to study aged lipidic paint binders. These binders, commonly known as drying oils, were widely used by artists throughout history both individually and in mixtures. We prepared various model samples of the pure binders (linseed, poppy‐seed and walnut oils and egg yolk) and of binary mixtures thereof. These model samples were left to age naturally for six years and further characterized by Raman spectroscopy. A comparative study of the Raman spectral features before and after ageing process was carried out. This showed changes mainly in the bands located at 1267, 1655 and 3011 cm–1, which correspond to vibrations in cis double bonds. Multivariate analysis was performed by applying principal component analysis and partial least‐squares discriminant analysis on the corresponding Raman spectra to test whether spectral differences allowed samples to be distinguished on the basis of their composition. The CH stretching region was found to be especially useful for discrimination between the different binders. Furthermore, good sensitivity and specificity were found in the discriminant analysis particularly for the identification of binders containing egg yolk. The results of these multivariate analyses demonstrated the potential use of both chemometric approaches in the field of Cultural Heritage for drying oil characterization and identification, and also for gaining a deeper insight into the ageing process. 北京故宫是现存规模最大、保存最完整的木结构古建筑群。2015年底,故宫养心殿启动研究性保护修缮工程,燕喜堂是养心殿的后殿西耳房,是此次维修的重点对象之一。彩画是古建筑的重要组成部分,不仅具有美化装饰的作用,更有对木材的防腐保护功能。为了能更好地辅助燕喜堂及西围房建筑彩画的保护与修复,需要对彩画原始材料以及工艺进行检测研究。使用一套集成检测方法:包括样品横截面分析、扫描电子显微镜背散射及能谱技术、拉曼光谱技术、荧光染色法、酶联免疫法、免疫荧光法以及热裂解气相色谱法,分析了故宫养心殿燕喜堂及西围房建筑彩画样品的颜料、沥粉、胶结材料的成分,以及结构关系。结果表明燕喜堂西围房使用的颜料有朱砂、铁红、群青、石青、石绿以及副氯铜矿型铜绿;沥粉的无机组成为石英、滑石、白垩或白云石。胶结材料检测结果发现彩画地仗层中普遍掺加了桐油,颜料层中掺加了动物胶。梁上彩画除了表面图案,地仗层底部还有一层朱砂颜料,同时地仗层内部也不规则地发现朱砂颜料。此外,表层红色颜料通常由两层颜料组成,内层的显色成分是铁红和朱砂,颜料颗粒直径1 μm左右,外层颜料由朱砂组成,颜料颗粒大小不一,直径1~30 μm范围内。上述检测结果不仅可以部分看出燕喜堂及西围房建筑彩画的工艺特征,也表明该集成检测方法可行、所需样品量少,是一种经济实用的彩画文物检测方法。  相似文献

Advanced synchrotron radiation light is a powerful tool for archaeometry research. However, its applications to precious cultural relics, especially for color painting, have been hindered to some degree due to potential X-ray radiation damage. Compared to inorganic mineral pigments, organic binders in the painting are easier to be damaged by synchrotron radiation X-ray beam. The radiation damage effect of two typical painting samples, pure rabbit skin glue and the mixed sample of rabbit skin glue and zinc white, has been investigated by in situ time-resolved ED-XAS and IR combined techniques. The results show that the radiation damage effect of pure rabbit skin glue is more serious at low X-ray energy (7775 eV). The radiation damage effect of the mixed sample increases significantly due to more X-ray absorption by inorganic pigments. Furthermore, the radiation damage is more serious at the energy near Zn K-edge and is somewhat slight at higher energy (13,054 eV). These damages are more obvious from the point of view of protein secondary structures. The irradiation damage effects increase more rapidly at the beginning and are not linear with the irradiating time. The results indicate that synchrotron radiation damage can be reduced effectively by using X-ray energy far away from the X-ray absorption edge of the major element in the pigments during XRF, XRD and CT experiments, or by using time-resolved techniques such as QXAFS and ED-XAS during XAFS experiments.  相似文献

In this work, the possible contribution of Raman spectroscopy in forensic science is evaluated, more specifically for the analysis of automotive paint samples. Spectra from paint flakes as well as from cross sections were examined, in order to identify not only the pigments but also binders and extenders in all paint layers. Moreover, the possibility of distinguishing paint samples from different cars was evaluated to assess the use of vibrational spectroscopic techniques in the investigation of a hit-and-run accident. The presence of rutile and extenders, such as calcite and barium sulphate, could be demonstrated by their characteristic Raman bands. However, the identification of the binder by Raman spectroscopy was hampered: only with additional information from IR analysis could most of the bands in the spectrum be assigned to molecular vibrations of the binders. In contrast, organic pigments, having very distinctive and well-resolved characteristic bands, could easily be identified by comparing the spectra from the basecoat of the sample with spectra from a reference database. Because of these characteristic bands, the basecoat seems to provide the best spectra to distinguish paint samples. Moreover, some paints can also be distinguished by the absence or presence of the bands from calcium carbonate and barium sulphate in the primer surfacer. The study reports on characterization of low-infrared-emittance paint top-coatings for interior building applications in which the thermal radiation becomes important in comparison with thermal conductance. The top-coating that consist of a binder with aluminium flakes has been optically characterized in the infrared wavelength range in order to determine single flake and binder emittance from reflectance measurements. The single flake emittance was found to be 0.12 for non-leafing cornflake. The absorption coefficient that determines the binder emittance as a function of binder thickness was 0.060 [μm]−2 and 0.085 [μm]−2 for Lumiflon and polyester respectively. These results were used as parameters in a simple model of the flake-binder top-coating to investigate how the emittance of the top-coating was influence by the two components and compared with a state-of-art low-emittance commercial paint. It was found from the modelling that replacing the polyester binder with Lumiflon reduces the infrared emittance (at room temperature) from 0.36 to 0.30. Increasing flake reflectance from 0.88 to 0.96 and at the same time reduce flake thickness from 2 to 1 μm gives an emittance of 0.20. However, the real samples prepared with Lumiflon showed a severe degradation caused by the flakes floating up closer to the surface which indicates a viscosity problem that needs to be solved for practical use. Terahertz time domain spectroscopic imaging (THz-TDSI) is a non-ionizing, non-contact and non-destructive measurement technique that has been recently utilized to study cultural heritage artifacts. We will present this technique and the results of non-contact measurements of papyrus texts, including images of hidden papyri. Inks for modern papyrus specimens were prepared using the historical binder, Arabic gum, and two common pigments used to write ancient texts, carbon black and red ochre. The samples were scanned in reflection at normal incidence with a pulse with a spectral range between 0.1 and 1.5 THz. Temporal analysis of the signals provides the depths of the layers, and their frequency spectra give information about the inks.  相似文献

采用蒸馏厂的下脚料——各种植物油沥青(棉油沥青、豆油沥青、混合油沥青)为主要原料,用聚酯废弃物为改性剂,经裂解、酯化等工艺制备成三种铸造用植物油沥青粘结剂(MB)。同时采用红外光谱和热重分析等手段对该三种粘结剂的基团结构,性能与固化机理进行探索,并与合脂粘结剂比较。 结果表明:改性粘结剂的主要成分与合脂粘结剂大致相同,且具有更高的干拉强度、更慢的发气速度等优异性能,达到甚至超过合脂粘结剂的性能,可用于Ⅰ级型芯砂的粘结,而且成本低廉。  相似文献

贮存时间是影响生菜品质的一项重要因素,传统的贮存时间鉴别方法主要依靠人工经验,但是这种方法的准确率和可信度并不高。研究的目标是建立一种基于模糊识别的模型进行生菜光谱分析以实现生菜贮存时间的鉴别,并与其他鉴别方法作比较。为此,在当地超市购买60份新鲜生菜样品,存放于冰箱中待用。首先,通过Antaris Ⅱ近红外光谱检测仪采集生菜样品的近红外光谱数据,每隔12小时检测一次,每个样本检测重复三次,并取三次平均值作为实验数据。其次,利用多元散射校正(MSC)减少近红外光谱中的冗余信息。为了进一步去除近红外光谱中的无用信息以及简化随后的数据分类过程,分别运用主成分分析(PCA)和排序主成分分析 (PCA Sort)。其中,PCA Sort通过改进对主成分的排序方法能提高分类准确率,同时便于模糊线性鉴别分析(FLDA)进一步提取特征。PCA和PCA Sort的计算仅运用了前15个主成分(能充分反映光谱的主要信息)。最后,利用模糊线性鉴别分析算法(FLDA)和K近邻算法(KNN)进一步分类所得的低维数据。基于PCA和KNN算法的模型鉴别准确率达到43%,而基于PCA,FLDA和KNN算法的模型鉴别准确率可达83%。上述结果说明基于PCA,FLDA和KNN算法的模型鉴别准确率已经得到较大程度提高。当用PCA Sort替代了模型中的PCA算法后,结合FLDA和KNN算法则鉴别准确率达到98.33%。实验结果表明PCA Sort结合FLDA和KNN所建立的模型是有效的生菜贮存时间鉴别模型。  相似文献

During the recent restoration of two large-dimension paintings by Murillo, entitled “Miracle of the loaves and fishes” and “Moses and the water from the rock of Horeb,” several studies about the materials employed for their execution were carried out. Macro X-ray fluorescence scanning technique was performed on both works complemented by point X-ray fluorescence and stratigraphic analyses, in order to characterize the different components of the paintings (i.e., ground layer, pigments, and binders). The results allowed us to better elucidate Murillo painting technique and his creative process. Ground layer was prepared in the usual fashion of the artist, using earths, calcium carbonate, iron oxide pigments, and white lead. The polichromy is composed of lead white mixed with various pigments, depending on the colour tone to be obtained in the pictorial composition: Red and yellow ochres, vermilion, azurite, smalt, and lead-tin yellow were the main pigments identified during our study. Finally, the presence of previous conservation treatments was evidenced by detecting pigments (zinc white, Prussian blue, etc.) not coeval with the artist palette.  相似文献
