The cross-section ratios of double-, triple-, quadruple-, and the total multi-electron processes to the single electron capture process (σ^DE/σ^SC, σ^TE/σ^SC, σ^QE/σ^SC and σ^ME/σ^SC) as well as the relative ratios among reaction channels in double-electron active, triple-electron active and quadruple-electron active are measured in ^13C^6+_Ne collision in the energy region of 4.15-11.08keV/u by employing position-sensitive and time-of-flight coincident techniques. It is determined that the cross-section ratios σ^DE /σ^SC, σ^TE /σ^SC, σ^QE /σ^SC and σ^ME /σ^SC are approximately the constants of 0.20 ± 0.03, 0.16 ± 0.04, 0.06 ± 0.02 and 0.42 ± 0.05. These values are obviously smaller than the predictions of the molecular Coulomb over-the-barrier model (MCBM) [J. Phys. B 23 (1990) 4293], the extended classical over-the-barrier model (ECBM) [J. Phys. B 19 (1986) 2925] and the semiempirical scaling laws (SL) [Phys. Rev. A 54 (1996) 4127]. However, the relative ratios among partial processes of DE, TE and QE are found to depend on collision energy, which suggests that the collision dynamics depends on the collision velocity. The limitation of velocity-independent character of ECBM, MCBM and SL is undoubtedly shown.  相似文献

The cross section ratios of the double, triple and quadruplicate ionization to the single ionization of argon by 1.5-7.5 MeV partially stripped carbon ions are measured by using time-of-flight technique. The Auger transition and the charge exchange process in the multiple ionization of argon are studied. The ratios of cross sections of the direct multiple ionization to those of the direct single ionization are obtained by subtracting the parts of the Auger transition and the charge exchange process from the measured data. It is found that the cross section ratios of the direct multiple ionization to those of the direct single ionization are in good agreement with the predicted mniti-step (ν/qeff)-2n+2 law.  相似文献

Influence of core property on multi-electron process in the collisions of q=6-9 and 11 isocharged sequence ions with Ne is investigated in the keV/u region. The cross-section ratios of double-,triple-,quadruple-and total multi-electron processes to the single electron capture process as well as the partial ratios of different reaction channels to the relevant multi-electron process are measured by using position-sensitive and time-of-flight techniques. The experimental data are compared with the theoretical predictions including the extended classical over-barrier model, the molecular Columbic barrier model and the semi-empirical scaling law. Results show a core effect on multi-electron process of isocharge ions colliding with Neon, which is consistent with the results of Helium we obtained previously.  相似文献

The stabilization ratios R for double-electron transfer, i.e., the cross section ratios of true double capture to total double-electron transfer, are measured in O^6+ +He, Ne and Ar collisions at 6 keV/u. A high R value about 68% is obtained for the He target, while for the Ar target, the R value is only 8%. The high R value for the He target is due to the significant direct population of the (2l, nl′ ) configurations with high n. For the Ar target, the (quasi)symmetric configurations (3l, nl′) lead to the much lower R value. Neglecting the core effects, the O^6+ ion can be taken as a bare ion C^6+ except the occupied ls shell, and then the measured R values are compared with previous experimental results of C^6+ projectile ions at Ne and Ar target, while the occupied ls shell for the C^6+ +He collisions. similar impact velocity. It yields good agreement with the O^6+ +He system results in a higher R value than that in  相似文献

In this paper a projectile ions recoil ions coincidence technique is employed to investigate the target ionization and projectile charge state changing processes in the collision of 0.22-6.35 MeV Cq^+ (q = 1 - 4) ions with argon atoms. The partial cross section ratios of the double, triple, quadruplicate ionization to the single ionization (or the single capture) of argon associated with single electron loss (or single electron capture) by the projectile are measured and compared with the previous experimental results. In the present experiment, it is observed that the ratios of ionization cross sections R associated with single loss and single capture depend strongly on the projectile charge state and vary significantly with different reaction channels as impact energy increases. In addition, this paper gets empirical scaling laws for the ionization cross section ratios R corresponding to the projectile single loss and finds that the ratios of the double ionization to the single ionization associated with single electron capture remain constant in the present energy range.  相似文献

This paper uses the two-centre atomic orbital close-coupling method to study the ionization and the single electron capture in collision of highly charged Ar^16+ ions with He atoms in the velocity range of 1.2-1.9 a.u.. The relative importance of single ionization (SI) to single capture (SC) is explored. The comparison between the calculation and experimental data shows that the SI/SC cross section ratios from this work are in good agreement with experimental data. The total single electron ionization cross sections and the total single electron capture cross sections are also given for this collision. The investigation of the partial electron capture cross section shows a general tendency of capture to larger n and l with increasing velocity from 1.2 to 1.9 a.u..  相似文献

The relative partial cross sections for ^13C^6+ -Ar collisions at 4.15-11.08 ke V/u incident energy are measured. The cross-section ratios σ^2E/σ^SC, σ^3E/σ^SC, σ^4E/σ^SC and σ^SE/σ^SC are approximately the constants of 0.514-0.05, 0.204-0.03, 0.064-0.03 and 0.024-0.01 in this region. The significance of the multi-electron process in highly charged ions (HCIs) with argon collisions is demonstrated (σ^ME/σ^SC as high as 0.794-0.06). In multi-electron processes, it is shown that transfer ionization is dominant while pure electron capture is weak and negligible. For all reaction channels, the cross-sections are independent of the incident energy in the present energy region, which is in agreement with the static characteristic of classic models, i.e. the molecular Coulomb over-the-barrier model (MCBM), the extended classical over-the-barrier model (ECBM) and the semiempirical scaling laws (SL). The result is compared with these classical models and with our previous work of ^13C^6+ -Ne collisions [Chin. Phys. Lett. 23 (2006) 95].  相似文献

This paper reports that the ratios of double to single electron loss cross-section (R) of O^2+ in collision with Ar and He at the velocity of 1 -4 vo(vo is the Bohr velocity) have been obtained by the coincidence technique. The trend of R - V in the experiment indicates that the effective charge varies with injected velocity. The effective charge can be obtained by the n-body classical trajectory Monte Carlo method, which is interpreted by the molecular Coulomb over barrier model.  相似文献

The classical method within the independent electron model is employed to investigate (i) charge dependences of single and double ionization for helium by various charged ions A^q+ (q = 1 - 8) at impact energies of 0.64 and 1.44 MeV/u, respectively, (ii) energy dependences of transfer ionization for helium by 0.5-3 MeV/u A^8.9+ ions impact. The Lenz-Jensen model of the atom is applied instead of the Bohr model of the atom, and the impact-parameter dependences are also introduced into the calculations. Satisfactory agreement is found between theoretical and experimental data.  相似文献

Cross-section ratios σTI/σSC of transfer ionization (TI) to single capture (SC) of C^q+- and O^q+-He (q = 1 - 3) collisions in the energy range of 15-440 keV/u (0.8-4.2 vBohr) are experimentally determined. It is shown that σTI/σSC strongly depends on the projectile velocity, and there is a maximum for E(keV/u)/q1/2 ≈, 150. Combining the Bohr-Lindhard model and the statistical model, a theoretical estimate is presented, in reasonable agreement with the experimental data when E(keV//u)/q^1/2 〉 35.  相似文献

The absolute single electron detachment (SED) cross sections of carbon group elements C, Si, Ge in the energy range of 0.05–0.29 a.u. (5 keV–30 keV) and oxygen group elements O and S 0.08–0.27 a.u. (5 keV–30 keV), incident on helium are measured with growth rate method. In our energy region, the SED cross sections of C, Si, S and Ge increase with the projectiles velocity, at the same time, O cross sections reach a conspicuous maximum at 0.18 a.u. Some abnormal behavior occurs in measurement of SED cross sections for the oxygen group collision with helium. Our results have been compared with a previous work.  相似文献

This paper studies the projectile electron loss cross sections of C3+ colliding with atomic hydrogen in the frame work of extended over-barrier model at intermediate velocities (25 keV/u-600 keV/u). The electron loss is calculated in terms of the interaction between the screened target nucleus and the active projectile electron and of the interaction between projectile electron and target electron. Compared with the convergent close-coupling calculations, screening and anti-screening calculations, this model satisfactorily reproduces the experimentally obtained energy dependence of the electron-impact ionisation cross sections and the single electron loss cross sections over the energy range investigated here.  相似文献

The relative cross sections of elementary processes occurring in single collisions of tryptophan molecules in the gaseous phase with He2+ ions with energy 4 keV/u are measured using time-of-flight mass spectrometry for studying the mechanism of radiation damage of amino acid molecules. The fragmentation channels for intermediate singly and doubly charged tryptophan molecular ions formed during one-electron capture, two-electron capture, and electron capture with ionization are investigated. Significant difference is observed in the mass spectra of fragmentation of intermediate doubly charged ions formed during the capture with ionization and double capture, which is associated with different energies of excitation of {C11H12N2O2}2+* ions.  相似文献

The destruction cross-section for 22.5 and 50 keV C1- , for 10 and 50 keV C8 1- and for 50 and 75 keV C60 1- clusters in collisions with H2 has been measured by an attenuation method. The destruction of the cluster anions is dominated by electron detachment rather than fragmentation and is of the order of the geometric cross-section. The cross-sections vary little with bombarding energy. Received: 16 September 1998 / Received in final form: 23 February 1999  相似文献

H+ and He2+ impact single and double ionization cross sections of ground state lead atoms have been calculated in the binary encounter approximation. Calculations of direct double ionization cross sections have been performed in the modified double binary encounter model. The accurate expressions of σΔE (cross-section for energy transfer ΔE) and Hartree-Fock velocity distributions for the target electrons have been used throughout the calculations. Contributions to double ionization from Auger effect following ionization of inner shells have been considered in the present work. Our H+ impact single and double ionization cross sections are in good agreement with the experimental observations. In calculations of He2+ impact cross sections, the present theoretical approach shows limited success in the experimentally investigated region (50–350 keV amu-1).  相似文献

Ratios for target Ar K-shell ionization associated with single and double electron capture, as well as the ratios corresponding to total capture and the projectile K x rays, were determined for 1.8- to 2.2-MeV/u F7 + ,8 + ,9+ projectiles. This work was performed at Western Michigan University with the tandem Van de Graaff accelerator. Coincidences between emitted K-shell X-rays (both target and projectile) and the corresponding charge-changed particles were observed. The F9+ Ar K X-ray coincidence ratios for double to single capture are found to well exceed unity over the limited energy range of the measurements. Possible explanations for this anomalous behavior are discussed.  相似文献

Post form of “boundary corrected continuum intermediate state (BCIS)” approximation has been employed to study charge transfer cross-sections in collision of Cq+, Nq+ and Oq+ (q=1–5) with ground state atomic hydrogen in the energy range of 50–200 keV/amu. In this formalism we have adopted model potential for the interaction of the active electron with the projectile ion. Calculated results for total charge transfer cross-sections have significant improvement over other existing theoretical results in their comparison to the available experimental findings except for singly charge ions. Sub-shell distribution for total charge transfer cross-section has also been reported in graphical form. Predictions suggested by Olson in connection with the sub-shell distribution of total charge transfer cross-section has been reaffirmed. However, an oscillatory structure of charge state dependence of the total charge transfer cross-sections has not been found in the present investigation.  相似文献
