We show that the spin state of the resident electron in an n-doped self-assembled InAs-GaAs quantum dot can be written and read using nonresonant, circularly polarized optical pumping. A simple theoretical model is presented and accounts for the remarkable dynamics producing counterpolarized photoluminescence.  相似文献

We propose and simulate a method for generating a three-dimensional(3D) optical cage in the vicinity of focus by focusing a double-ring shaped radially and azimuthally polarized beam. Our study shows that the combination of an inner ring with an azimuthally polarized field and an outer ring with a radially polarized field and a phase factor can produce an optical cage with a dark region enclosed by higher intensity. The shape of the cage can be tailored by appropriately adjusting the parameters of double-mode beams. Furthermore, multiple 3D optical cages can be realized by applying the shift theorem of the Fourier transform and macro-pixel sampling algorithm to a double-ring shaped radially and azimuthally polarized beam.  相似文献

线性偏振光在显微物镜焦斑处入射,与径向偏振光相干叠加产生三维偏振光场,通过调节两束光光强比率和入射线偏振光偏振方向实现聚焦光场任意三维偏振方向的控制.基于矢量光场衍射理论建立了仿真计算模型,对所提三维偏振方向控制方法的可行性进行理论验证和实验评估.构建实际控制光路并进行初步测试,实验结果表明了该方法的可行性,且相比于其他三维偏振控制方法,本文所提方法和其控制光路更为简单易实现.  相似文献

Spin-dependent recombination is observed in Ga0.6Al0.4As at 77°K on the intensity of the donor-acceptor pairs photoluminescence. The lifetime is enhanced by a factor 2.3 when photocreated electrons and recombination centers are spin polarized by optical pumping with circularly polarized light. Optical orientation and spin-dependent recombination lead to a steady-state electronic spin polarization as large as 70%.  相似文献

由于纳米碳管的优异机械特性及其丰富多采的光学和电学特性,它自1991年被发现以来一直受到科学家的青睐,纳米碳管研究已成为当今世界上发展最迅速,竞争最激烈的科学前沿领域之一。怎样才能把纳米碳管做得更细小,尺寸更均匀以及如何使众多的纳米碳管排列规整,一直是纳米碳管研究中的难题。我们利用多孔的沸石晶体作为载体,首次成功地研制出了尺寸均一,排列规整的超细单壁纳米碳管,这些超细纳米碳管具有独特的性能,低温下(<20K)甚至呈现出前所未有的一维超导现象。详细介绍了这些超细单壁纳米碳管的制备过程,并着重介绍其在可见光区的光吸收,光发射以及二次谱波的倍频特性。  相似文献

We investigated the emission wavelength dependence of the lasing polarization in a (1 1 0)-oriented vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) with GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells under optical spin injection at room temperature. Lasing was observed in the one circularly polarized mode over a wide wavelength range from 838 to 857 nm, in which a degree of circular polarization higher than 0.8 was maintained. The optical gain spectrum that contributed to the circularly polarized lasing is discussed based on the optical selection rules and the measured polarization-resolved photoluminescence spectra of the active layers.  相似文献

提高太阳能电池光电转换效率的一个重要途径就是提高它的光子吸收能力。在传统非晶硅薄膜太阳能电池中加入了金属光栅,设计出一种新的复合电池结构。基于严格耦合波分析矢量衍射理论计算了该结构的吸收光谱和增强因子;讨论了光栅宽度、入射光角度和入射光偏振态对吸收的影响。结果显示,设计的太阳能电池结构能够显著提高光的吸收率,在TM偏振光入射条件下,该结构的吸收增强因子最高可达40%;在其他偏振态光线入射时,其吸收增强因子也可达到16%左右。  相似文献

We observe signatures of stimulated bosonic scattering of excitons, a precursor of Bose-Einstein-Condensation (BEC), in the photoluminescence of semiconductor quantum wells. The optical decay of a spinless molecule of two excitons (biexciton) into an exciton and a photon with opposite angular momenta is subject to bosonic enhancement in the presence of other excitons. In a gas of biexcitons and spin polarized excitons the bosonic enhancement breaks the symmetry of two equivalent biexciton decay channels leading to circularly polarized luminescence of the biexciton with the sign opposite to the circularly polarized exciton luminescence. Comparison of experiment and many body theory clearly indicates the existence of stimulated exciton-scattering, but excludes the presence of a fully condensed BEC-like state.  相似文献

A method of measuring flow-birefringence is reported. In this method, a circularly polarized light wave is transmitted through the flow-birefringent medium. The transmitted elliptically polarized wave is compensated by a Babinet-Soleil plate to convert it back into a circularly polarized wave. The state of circular polarization is confirmed using the rotating-analyser method. Measurements can be carried out with a sample having a fixed azimuth. The minimum detectable optical retardation angle was 5 × 10-3 degree. This corresponds to a birefringence of Δn = 1 × 10-10, when the optical path length of the sample cell is 100 mm.  相似文献

A novel four level atomic configuration is proposed for controlling the optical bistability and transmission coefficient with application on all-optical switching. Two circularly polarized components from a weak linearly-polarized probe beam are interacted separately by two transitions of this medium. A coherent coupling field has derived another atomic transition. It is demonstrated that the transmission coefficient of two orthogonally polarized beams at different frequencies can be achieved by adjusting the magnitude of the external magnetic field. It is found that the threshold of the optical bistability can be controlled by magnitude of the external magnetic field. Also, it is shown that optical bistability can be converted to optical multistability by switching the two orthogonally polarized beams.  相似文献

A novel circular polarized optical heterodyne interferometer using a Zeeman laser to measure optical rotation both in nonscattered and scattered chiral medium is proposed. A pair of correlated orthogonal circular polarized light waves of different temporal frequency propagating in the chiral medium at different speed is studied. This results in phase retardation between circular polarized light waves of which the phase difference is proportional to the optical rotation angle of a linear polarized light in a chiral medium. In the mean time, two orthogonal circular polarized light waves can be treated as a circular polarized photon pair that is able to reduce the scattering effect in a scattered chiral medium. Then the optical rotation angle can be measured in the scattering medium. In addition, a common-path configuration with respect to circular polarized light waves immune the background noise. This further improves the sensitivity on optical rotation measurement based on phase difference detection.  相似文献

The longitudinal component of a focused beam is split into two parts along the optical axis to obtain a longitudinally polarized long focal depth using amplitude filtering based on Euler transformation and a radially polarized Bessel-Gaussian beam. Numerical results indicate that long focal depth and FWHM can be easily achieved with 9λ and 0.8λ, respectively. A radially polarized beam can be converted into a longitudinally polarized beam with a conversion efficiency of 51.0%. It can therefore be believed that the proposed scheme can be widely used to generate a longitudinally polarized beam for particle acceleration, laser cutting, and optical trapping.  相似文献

We review the polarization properties of photoluminescence (PL) in nanocrystals (NCs) from both theoretical and experimental points of view. We show that, under linearly polarized excitation, NCs emit partly polarized light owing to their uniaxial structure or their anisotropic shape. In elongated NCs, the anisotropy may have two origins, the electronic confinement or the effect of depolarizing field created by the light-induced charges on the interfaces. Results of polarization studies in porous silicon are presented. They are explained by the shape of the Si NCs. Experiments in CdSe NCs reveal the fine structure of the excitonic levels and show evidence of the enhancement of the electron-hole exchange energy with decreasing NC size. Spin orientation in wurtzite-type NCs is achieved by optical pumping with circularly polarized light. The effect of a magnetic field on the degree of circular polarization and the mechanisms of spin relaxation are discussed. Results in large-size NCs are presented.  相似文献

采用溶胶-凝胶法制备了(Ba0.75Sr0.25)TiO3薄膜,研究了不同退火温度下样品的物相结构、薄膜的光致发光性能和光学透过率。结果表明:室温下非晶钛酸锶钡薄膜在蓝光激发下具有明显的发光现象,发光波长范围是500~650 nm,峰值在525 nm附近。延长非晶态薄膜的退火时间能够显著提高样品的发光强度,且发光强度随薄膜厚度增加而增大。晶态薄膜有微弱的发光现象。透射谱测试结果表明,钛酸锶钡薄膜在可见光范围内具有良好的光学透过率。  相似文献

The polarized Raman spectroscopy is capable of giving confirmation regarding the crystalline phase as well as the crystallographic orientation of the sample. In this context, apart from crystallographic X‐ray and electron diffraction tools, polarized Raman spectroscopy and corresponding spectral imaging can be a promising crystallographic tool for determining both crystalline phase and orientation. Sub‐micron sized hexagonal AlGaN crystallites are grown by a simple atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition technique using the self catalytic vapor–solid process under N‐rich condition. The crystallites are used for the polarized Raman spectra in different crystalline orientations along with spectral imaging studies. The results obtained from the polarized Raman spectral studies show single crystalline nature of sub‐micron sized hexagonal AlGaN crystallites. Optical properties of the crystallites for different crystalline orientations are also studied using polarized photoluminescence measurements. The influence of internal crystal field to the photoluminescence spectra is proposed to explain the distinctive observation of splitting of emission intensity reported, for the first time, in case of c‐plane oriented single crystalline AlGaN crystallite as compared with that of m‐plane oriented crystallite. Polarization which has attracted much attention plays an important role in many optical systems, and vector beam generation is very desirable. In this paper, a very simple method for generating tunable inhomogeneously polarized beam is proposed. Polarizing film is employed to construct conic polarization converter that can convert incident beam into inhomogeneously polarized vector beam. Two half-wave plates are put in light path, and by adjusting the angle between the fast axes of the two half-wavelength plates, the polarization distribution can be altered conveniently. Experiments have been made successfully to show that this kind of method is very simple and valid.  相似文献

We propose a novel system for synchronous measurement of out-of-plane deformation and two orthogonal slopes using a single camera. The linearly polarized reference beam introduced by an optical fiber interferes with the unpolarized object beam to measure the out-of-plane deformation. A modified Mach—Zehnder interferometer is used to measure the two orthogonal slopes of the out-of-plane deformation. One of the object beams of the Mach—Zehnder interferometer is an unpolarized beam, and the other object beam is split into two orthogonal linearly polarized object beams by a polarizing prism. The two beams are orthogonally polarized. Hence, they will not interfere with each other. The two polarized beams respectively interfere with the unpolarized beam to simultaneously measure the two orthogonal slopes of the out-of-plane deformation. In addition, the imaging lens and apertures are respectively placed in three optical paths to independently control the carrier frequencies and shearing amounts. The effectiveness of this method can be proved by measuring two pressure-loaded circular plates.  相似文献

由各种形状冰晶粒子组成的卷云,对全球辐射平衡和气候变化有重要的影响,其影响程度取决于卷云本身的微物理特性和光学特性,如冰晶粒子形状、卷云光学厚度和云顶压强等.在对0.865μm波长处卷云光学特性研究的基础上,采用矢量辐射传输方程模拟分析了含卷云层的总反射率和偏振反射率,并利用卫星观测数据验证了模拟结果.分析研究了卷云微物理特征、光学特征和地表反照率对总反射率和偏振反射率的影响.分析表明,可以综合利用多角度偏振遥感信息反演各种卷云参数.这为利用多角度偏振遥感数据反演卷云各参数提供了理论基础. 关键词: 卷云微物理特征 卷云光学特性 多角度偏振辐射 矢量辐射传输方程  相似文献

基于Richards-Wolf矢量衍射积分公式,数值分析了同轴三环非均匀混合偏振矢量光束经过高数值孔径透镜的聚焦特性。该矢量光束由同轴三环局域线偏振矢量光束通过一个相位延迟角为δ的液晶相位延迟器产生,光束偏振变为包含线偏振、圆偏振和椭圆偏振的混合态。同轴三环局域线偏振矢量光束的偏振分布是由径向向内偏振的外环光束、径向向外偏振的内环光束和线偏振方向与径向方向夹角为φ2的中环光束构成。数值模拟结果显示该混合偏振矢量光束的聚焦强度分布与参数φ2和相位延迟角δ密切相关,当选取适当的φ2和δ时,在焦平面附近产生沿光轴方向的三维多点光俘获结构——暗光链,这在光学微操纵领域具有潜在的应用价值。  相似文献
