Eu activated Sr5(PO4)3F phosphor powders have been subjected to the electron bombardment at 2 keV (10 μA) at an oxygen pressure of 1×10−6 Torr. The synthesized Sr5(PO4)3F phosphor was identical to the hexagonal apatite structure, with the Sr present at two different sites Cs (S1) and C3 (S2) in the Sr5(PO4)3F host, as inferred from the crystallographic study. Cathodoluminescence (CL) and Auger electron spectroscopy of the phosphor excited by the same electron beam were used to monitor changes in the surface state during prolonged electron bombardment. A direct correlation between the surface reactions and the degradation of the CL brightness was observed. Both C and F were depleted from the surface during electron bombardment. The postulated mechanism for the electron stimulated chemical reactions on the phosphor surface is electron beam dissociation of molecular species to atomic species, which subsequently react with C to form volatile compounds CO2, CH4, etc. and with Sr5(PO4)3F to form a non luminescence layer of metal oxides of Sr and P.  相似文献

The spectroscopic properties in UV-excitable range for the phosphors of Sr3La2(BO3)4:RE3+ (RE3+=Eu3+, Ce3+, Tb3+) were investigated. The phosphors were synthesized by conventional solid-state reactions. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra and commission international de I'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of Sr3La2(BO3)4:RE3+ were investigated. The f-d transitions of Eu3+, Ce3+ and Tb3+ in the host lattices are assumed and corroborated. The PL and PL excitation (PLE) spectra indicate that the main emission wavelength of Sr3La2(BO3)4:Eu3+ is 611 nm, and Sr3La2(BO3)4:Ce3+ shows dominating emission peak at 425 nm, while Sr3La2(BO3)4:Tb3+ displays green emission at 487, 542, 582 and 620 nm. These phosphors were prepared by simple solid-state reaction at 1000 °C. There are lower reactive temperature and more convenient than commercial phosphors. The Sr3La2(BO3)4:Tb3+ applied to cold cathode fluorescent lamp was found to emit green light and have a major peak wavelength at around 542 nm. These phosphors may provide a new kind of luminescent materials under ultraviolet excitation.  相似文献

Ca0.54Sr0.34−1.5xEu0.08Smx(MoO4)y (WO4)1−y red phosphors were prepared by solid-state reaction using Na+ as a charge compensator for light-emitting diodes (LED). The effects of Na+ concentration, synthesis temperature, reaction time and Eu3+ concentration were studied for the properties of luminescence and crystal structure of red phosphors. The results show that the optimum reaction condition is 6%, 900 °C, 2 h and 8%. The photoluminescence spectra show that red phosphors are effectively excited at 616 nm by 292, 395 and 465 nm. The wavelengths of 465 nm nicely match the widely applied emission wavelengths of blue LED chips.  相似文献

Enhanced green photoluminescence and cathodoluminescence (CL) from Tb3+ ions due to co-doping with Ce3+ ions were observed from SiO2:Ce,Tb powder phosphors prepared by a sol-gel technique. Blue emission from the Ce3+ ions was completely suppressed by Tb co-doping, presumably due to energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+. In addition, the green CL intensity from SiO2:Ce,Tb degraded by ∼50% when the powders were irradiated for 10 h with a 2 keV, 54 mA/cm2 beam of electrons in an ultra-high vacuum chamber containing either 1×10−8 or 1×10−7 Torr O2. Desorption of oxygen from the surface was observed during the decrease of CL intensity. The mechanisms for energy transfer from Ce3+ ions to Tb3+ ions to enhance the green luminescence, and mechanisms for desorption of oxygen from the phosphor surface that would result in decreased CL intensity are discussed.  相似文献

KGd1−x(WO4)2−y(MoO4)y:Eu3+x(0.1?x?0.75, y=0 and 0.2) phosphors are synthesized through traditional solid-state reaction and their luminescent properties in ultraviolet (UV) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) regions are investigated. Under 147 nm excitation, these phosphors show characteristic red emission with good color purity. In order to improve their emission intensity, the MoO42− (20 wt%) is introduced into the anion of KGd1−x(WO4):Eu3+x. The Mo6+ and Eu3+ co-doped KGd(WO4)2 phosphors show higher emission intensity in comparison with the singly Eu3+-doped KGd(WO4)2 in VUV region. The chromaticity coordination of KGd0.45(WO4):Eu3+0.55 is (x=0.669, y=0.331), while that of KGd0.45(WO4)1.8(MoO4)0.2:Eu3+0.55 is (x=0.666, y=0.334) in VUV region.  相似文献

The photoluminescence properties of Y1−x(PO3)3:xEu3+ (0<x≤0.2) are investigated. The excitation spectrum of Y0.85(PO3)3:0.15Eu3+ shows that both the (PO3)33− groups and the CT bands of O2−-Y3+ can efficiently absorb the excitation energy in the region of 120-250 nm. Under 147 nm excitation, the optimal emissive intensity of Y1−x(PO3)3:xEu3+ (0<x≤0.2) is about 36% of the commercial phosphor (Y,Gd)BO3:Eu3+, which hints that the absorbed energy by the host matrix could be efficiently transferred to Eu3+. We try to study the concentration quenching mechanism of Y1−x(PO3)3:xEu3+ (0<x≤0.2) under 147 and 172 nm excitation.  相似文献

The degradation of the cathodoluminescence (CL) intensity of cerium-doped yttrium silicate (Y2SiO5:Ce) phosphor powders was investigated for possible application in low voltage field emission displays (FEDs). Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and CL spectroscopy were used to monitor changes in the surface chemical composition and luminous efficiency of commercially available Y2SiO5:Ce phosphor powders. The degradation of the CL intensity for the powders is consistent with a well-known electron-stimulated surface chemical reaction (ESSCR) model. It was shown with XPS and CL that the electron stimulated reaction led to the formation of a luminescent silicon dioxide (SiO2) layer on the surface of the Y2SiO5:Ce phosphor powder. XPS also indicated that the Ce concentration in the surface layer increased during the degradation process and the formation of CeO2 and CeH3 were also part of the degradation process. The CL intensity first decreased until about 300 C cm−2 and then increased due to an extra peak arising at a wavelength of 650 nm.  相似文献

In this paper we report the combustion synthesis of trivalent rare-earth (RE3+ = Dy, Eu and Ce) activated Sr4Al2O7 phosphor. The prepared phosphors were characterized by the X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) techniques. Photoluminescence emission peaks of Sr4Al2O7:Dy3+ phosphor at 474 nm and 578 nm in the blue and yellow region of the spectrum. The prepared Eu3+ doped phosphors were excited by 395 nm then we found that the characteristics emission of europium ions at 615 nm (5D0?7F2) and 592 nm (5D0?7F1). Photoluminescence (PL) peaks situated at wavelengths of 363 and 378 nm in the UV region under excitation at around 326 nm in the Sr4Al2O7:Ce3+ phosphor.  相似文献

This paper reports the growth and spectroscopic characterization of Er3+:Sr3Y(BO3)3 crystal. Er3+:Sr3Y(BO3)3 crystal with dimensions up to ∅20×35 mm3 has been grown by Czochralski method. The polarized spectroscopic properties of Er3+:Sr3Y(BO3)3 crystal were investigated. Based on the Judd-Ofelt theory, the effective intensity parameters Ωt were obtained: Ω2=1.71×10−20 cm2, Ω4=1.39×10−20 cm2, Ω6=0.74×10−20 cm2 for π-polarization, and Ω2=1.77×10−20 cm2, Ω4=1.44×10−20 cm2, Ω6=0.65×10−20 cm2 for σ-polarization. The emission cross-section σem was calculated to be 4.75×10−21 cm2 for π-polarization at 1536 nm and 6.30×10−21 cm2 for σ-polarization at 1537 nm. The investigated results showed that Er3+:Sr3Y(BO3)3 crystal may be regarded as a potential laser host material for 1.55 μm IR solid-state lasers.  相似文献

This report presents the luminescence properties of Ce3+ and Pr3+ activated Sr2Mg(BO3)2 under VUV-UV and X-ray excitation. The five excitation bands of crystal field split 5d states are observed at about 46 729, 44 643, 41 667, 38 314 and 29 762 cm−1 (i.e. 214, 224, 240, 261 and 336 nm) for Ce3+ in the host lattice. The doublet Ce3+ 5d→4f emission bands were found at about 25 840 and 24 096 cm−1 (387 and 415 nm). The influence of doping concentration and temperature on the emission characteristics and the decay time of Ce3+ in Sr2Mg(BO3)2 were investigated. For Pr3+ doped samples, the lowest 5d excitation band was observed at about 42017 cm−1 (238 nm), a dominant band at around 35714 cm−1 (280 nm) and two shoulder bands were seen in the emission spectra. The excitation and emission spectra of Ce3+ and Pr3+ were compared and discussed. The X-ray excited luminescence studies show that the light yields are ∼3200±230 and ∼1400±100 photons/MeV of absorbed X-ray energy for the samples Sr1.86Ce0.07Na0.07Mg(BO3)2 and Sr1.82Pr0.09Na0.09Mg(BO3)2 at RT, respectively.  相似文献

Oxonitridosilicate phosphors with compositions of (Y1−xCex)2Si3O3N4 (x=0−0.2) have been synthesized by solid state reaction method. The structures and photoluminescence properties have been investigated. Ce3+ ions have substituted for Y3+ ions in the lattice. The emission and excitation spectra of these phosphors show the characteristic photoluminescence spectra of Ce3+ ions. Based on the analyses of the diffuse reflection spectra and the PL spectra, a systematic energy diagram of Ce3+ ion in the forbidden band of sample with x=0.02 is given. The best doping Ce content in these phosphors is ∼2 mol%. The quenching temperature is ∼405 K for the 2 mol% Ce content sample. The luminescence decay properties were investigated. The primary studies indicate that these phosphors are potential candidates for application in three-phosphor-converted white LEDs.  相似文献

Blue-light emitting Sr2CeO4 phosphors were successfully prepared via a microwave-assisted solvothermal method employing ethylene glycol as a solvent. The formation of Sr2CeO4 phase began when the solvothermally derived precursors were heated at 800 °C. With increase in heating temperatures, significantly enhanced excitation and emission intensities were observed because of an increase in the amount of Sr2CeO4. Heating at 1200 °C led to a substantial decrease in mission intensity due to thermal decomposition of Sr2CeO4 at elevated temperatures. The solvothermally derived Sr2CeO4 was found to exhibit higher emission intensity than the solid-state-reaction-derived phosphors. According to the deconvoluted emission spectra, two emission peaks are attributed to two metal-to-ligand charge-transfer states. Based on the deconvoluted results, a qualitative energy-level diagram of Sr2CeO4 was proposed. VUV-excited luminescence studies for Sr2CeO4 indicate that one peak at 193 nm is assigned to the charge-transfer transition between Sr2+ and O2−.  相似文献

Electron spin resonance (ESR), thermoluminescence and photoluminescence studies in Eu2+ activated Sr5(PO4)3Cl phosphor are reported in this paper. The Sr5(PO4)3Cl:Eu2+ phosphor is twice as sensitive as the conventional CaSO4:Dy phosphor used in thermoluminescence dosimetry of ionizing radiations. It has a linear response, simple glow curve, emission peaking at 456 nm. The defect centers formed in the Sr5(PO4)3Cl:Eu2+phosphor are studied by using the technique of ESR. A dominant TL glow peak at 430 K with a smaller shoulder at 410 K is observed in the phosphor. ESR studies indicate the presence at three centers at room temperature. Step annealing measurements show a connection between one of the centers and the dominant glow peak at 430 K. The 430 K TL peak is well correlated with center I, which is tentatively identified as (PO4)2− radical.  相似文献

Ni3–xCr2x/3(PO4)2 (x=0 and 0.02) microcrystalline powders were obtained as single phases via a modified sol–gel Pechini-type in situ polymerizable complex method. The samples were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, cathodoluminescence (CL), and thermoluminescence (TL) techniques. We found that Cr3+ doping modified the average particle and distribution. The mean particle size was 0.441 μm for Ni3(PO4)2 and 0.267 μm for Ni2.98Cr0.013(PO4)2. The results also reveal that Cr3+ doping notably enhanced the CL and TL UV-blue emission.  相似文献

Intense red phosphors, AgGd1−xEux(W1−yMoy)2O8 (x=0.0-1.0, y=0.0-1.0), have been synthesized through traditional solid-state reaction and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL). XRD results reveal that AgGd1−xEuxW2O8 synthesized at 1000 °C has a tetragonal crystal structure, which is named as high temperature phase (HTP) AgGdW2O8. All phosphors compositions with Eu3+ show red and green emission on excitation either in the charge-transfer or Eu3+ levels. Analysis of the emission spectra with different Eu3+ concentrations reveal that the optimum dopant concentration for Eu3+ is x=0.6 in the HTP AgGd1−xEuxW2O8 (x=0.0-1.0). Studies on the AgGd0.4Eu0.6(W1−yMoy)2O8 (y=0.0-1.0) and AgGd1−xEux(W0.7Mo0.3)2O8 (x=0.0-1.0) show that the emission intensity is maximum for compositions with y=0.3 and x=0.5, respectively, and a decrease in emission intensity is observed for higher y or x values. The Mo6+ and Eu3+ co-doped AgGd(WO4)2 phosphors show higher emission intensity in comparison with the singly Eu3+-doped AgGd(WO4)2 in UV region. The intense emission of the tungstate/molybdate phosphors under 394 and 465 nm excitations, respectively, suggests that these materials are promising candidates as red-emitting phosphors for near-UV/blue GaN-based white LED for white light generation.  相似文献

By using diamond anvil cell (DAC), high-pressure Raman spectroscopic studies of orthophosphates Ba3(PO4)2 and Sr3(PO4)2 were carried out up to 30.7 and 30.1 GPa, respectively. No pressure-induced phase transition was found in the studies. A methanol:ethanol:water (16:3:1) mixture was used as pressure medium in DAC, which is expected to exhibit nearly hydrostatic behavior up to about 14.4 GPa at room temperature. The behaviors of the phosphate modes in Ba3(PO4)2 and Sr3(PO4)2 below 14.4 GPa were quantitatively analyzed. The Raman shift of all modes increased linearly and continuously with pressure in Ba3(PO4)2 and Sr3(PO4)2. The pressure coefficients of the phosphate modes in Ba3(PO4)2 range from 2.8179 to 3.4186 cm−1 GPa−1 for ν3, 2.9609 cm−1 GPa−1 for ν1, from 0.9855 to 1.8085 cm−1 GPa−1 for ν4, and 1.4330 cm−1 GPa−1 for ν2, and the pressure coefficients of the phosphate modes in Sr3(PO4)2 range from 3.4247 to 4.3765 cm−1 GPa−1 for ν3, 3.7808 cm−1 GPa−1 for ν1, from 1.1005 to 1.9244 cm−1 GPa−1 for ν4, and 1.5647 cm−1 GPa−1 for ν2.  相似文献

Neodymium doped strontium gallogermanate crystals were grown successfully by the Bridgman technique. The linear thermal expansion coefficients for the c- and a-axes were measured as 5.8 × 10−6 °C−1 and 6.5 × 10−6 °C−1. Absorption spectra, and fluorescence spectra, as well as fluorescence decay curves of Nd3+-doped Sr3Ga2Ge4O14 crystal, have been recorded at room temperature and used to calculate the absorption and stimulated emission cross-sections. Based on the Judd-Ofelt theory, three intensity parameters were obtained. The luminescent quantum efficiency of the 4F3/2 level was determined to be approximately 73.8% for this material. Compared with other Nd3+-doped laser crystals, Nd3+-doped Sr3Ga2Ge4O14 crystal displays special laser properties due to its disorder structure.  相似文献

Rare-earth-doped polycrystalline Ca3(PO4)2:Eu, Ca3(PO4)2:Dy and Ca3(PO4)2:Eu,Dy phosphors prepared by a modified solid-state synthesis has been studied for its X-ray diffraction, thermoluminescence (TL) and photoluminescence (PL) characteristics. The PL emission spectra of the phosphor suggest the presence of Eu3+ ion in Ca3(PO4)2:Eu and Dy3+ ion in Ca3(PO4)2:Dy lattice sites. The TL glow curve of the Ca3(PO4)2:Eu compounds has a simple structure with a prominent peak at 228 °C, while Ca3(PO4)2:Dy peaking at 146 and 230 °C. TL sensitivity of phosphors are compared with CaSO4: Dy and found 1.52 and 1.20 times less in Ca3(PO4)2:Eu and Ca3(PO4)2:Dy phosphors, respectively. The Ca3(PO4)2:Eu,Dy phosphors shows switching behavior under two different excitation wavelengths and enhancement in PL intensity of Dy3+ ions were reported. The paper discusses the photoluminescence and thermoluminescence behavior of Eu3+ and Dy3+ ion in Ca3(PO4)2 hosts, it may be applicable to solid-state lighting as well as thermoluminescence dosimetry applications.  相似文献

Using (Bi2O3)0.75(Dy2O3)0.25 nano-powder synthesized by reverse titration co-precipitation method as raw material, dense ceramics were sintered by both Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) and pressureless sintering. According to the predominance area diagram of Bi-O binary system, the sintering conditions under SPS were optimized. (Bi2O3)0.75(Dy2O3)0.25 ceramics with relative density higher than 95% and an average grain size of 20 nm were sintered in only 10 min up to 500 °C. During the pressureless sintering process, the grain growth behavior of (Bi2O3)0.75(Dy2O3)0.25 followed a parabolic trend, expressed as D2 − D02 = Kt, and the apparent activation energy of grain growth was found to be 284 kJ mol− 1. Dense (Bi2O3)0.75(Dy2O3)0.25 ceramics with different grain sizes were obtained, and the effect of grain size on ion conductivity was investigated by impedance spectroscopy. It was shown that the total ion conductivity was not affected by the grain size down to 100 nm, however lower conductivity was measured for the sample with the smallest grain size (20 nm). But, although only the δ phase was evidenced by X-ray diffraction for this sample, a closer inspection by Raman spectroscopy revealed traces of α-Bi2O3.  相似文献

The red phosphors NaY1−xEux(WO4)2 with different concentrations of Eu3+ were synthesized via the combustion synthesis method. As a comparison, NaEu(WO4)2 was prepared by the solid-state reaction method. The phase composition and optical properties of as-synthesized samples were studied by X-ray powder diffraction and photoluminescence spectra. The results show that the red light emission intensity of the combustion synthesized samples under 394 nm excitation increases with increase in Eu3+ concentrations and calcination temperatures. Without Y ions doping, the emission spectra intensity of the NaEu(WO4)2 phosphor prepared by the combustion method fired at 900 °C is higher than that prepared by the solid-state reaction at 1100 °C. NaEu(WO4)2 phosphor synthesized by the combustion method at 1100 °C exhibits the strongest red emission under 394 nm excitation and appropriate CIE chromaticity coordinates (x=0.64, y=0.33) close to the NTSC standard value. Thus, its excellent luminescence properties make it a promising phosphor for near UV InGaN chip-based red-emitting LED application.  相似文献
