The interlayer exchange coupling between Co/Pt perpendicular-to-plane magnetized layers across a thin IrMn spacer layer was experimentally studied. In contrast to earlier studies on interlayer coupling through antiferromagnetic NiO, which revealed an oscillatory coupling behavior as a function of NiO thickness, a ferromagnetic coupling was observed here in the range of IrMn thickness between 0.6 and 1.5 nm and antiferromagnetic between 1.5 and 2.5 nm. The antiferromagnetic coupling is attributed to an orange peel magnetostatic mechanism whereas the ferromagnetic coupling is attributed to an out-of-plane polarization of the antiferromagnetic IrMn layer induced by the interfacial exchange interaction with the adjacent out-of-plane ferromagnetic layers. Measurements of hysteresis loops versus temperature show that the coupling vanishes at 510 K for tIrMn=1 nm. This critical temperature is far below the Néel temperature of bulk IrMn, but above the blocking temperature of IrMn/Co bilayers at such thickness. Using a one-dimensional model describing a partial domain wall in the antiferromagnet, we explain the coupling in terms of an out-of-plane tilt of the Mn moments at the IrMn/(Co/Pt) interfaces yielding a weak net polarization of the IrMn. Finally, the non-oscillatory decay of the coupling was attributed to the compensated spin structure of the IrMn in the parallel to the interfaces.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of armchair graphene nanoribbons have been studied using a Monte Carlo study. The ground state phase diagrams have been determined for mixed spins S={±2; ±1; 0} and σ={±5/2; ±3/2; ±1/2}. The topologies of the phase diagrams depend on the values of the parameters in the Hamiltonian such as exchange interactions, crystal field and external magnetic field. The some diagrams show some coexistence between regions. The Néel temperature tN is obtained for different values of layer (n). The effect of reduced exchange interactions between the mixed spins σ and S and reduced crystal field on total magnetization has been given. Magnetic hysteresis cycles are given for different values of n, reduced exchange interactions and reduced temperatures. The double hysteresis loop and superparamagnetism were observed.  相似文献

PurposeConventional cardiac T2 mapping suffers from the partial-voluming effect in the endocardium and epicardium due to the co-presence of intra-cavity blood and epicardial fat. The aim of the study is to develop a novel single-breath-hold Fat-Saturated Dark-Blood (FSDB) cardiac T2-mapping technique to mitigate the partial-voluming and improve T2 accuracy.MethodsThe proposed FSDB T2-mapping technique combines T2-prepared bSSFP, a novel use of double inversion-recovery with heart-rate-adaptive TI, and spectrally-selective fat saturation to mitigate partial-voluming from both the blood and fat. FSDB T2 mapping was compared to conventional T2 mapping via simulations, phantom imaging, healthy-subject imaging (n = 8), and patient imaging (n = 7). In the healthy subjects, a high-resolution coplanar anatomical imaging was performed to provide a gold standard for segmentation of endocardium and epicardium. T2 maps were registered to the gold standard image to evaluate any inter-layer T2 difference, which is a surrogate for partial-voluming.ResultsSimulations and phantom imaging showed that FSDB T2 mapping was accurate in a range of heartrates, off-resonance, and T2 values, and blood/fat reasonably nulled in a range of heartrates. In healthy subjects, FSDB T2 mapping showed similar T2 values over different myocardial layers in all 3 short-axis slices (e.g. basal epicardial/mid-wall/endocardial T2 = 42 ± 2 ms/41 ± 1 ms/42 ± 1 ms), whereas conventional T2 mapping showed considerably increased T2 in the endocardium and epicardium (e.g. basal epicardial/mid-wall/endocardial T2 = 48 ± 3 ms/43 ± 1 ms/49 ± 3 ms). The homogeneous T2 in the FSDB T2 mapping increased the apparent LV-wall thickness by 25–41% compared with the conventional method.ConclusionsThe proposed technique improves accuracy of myocardial T2 mapping against partial-voluming associated with both fat and blood, facilitating a multi-layer T2 evaluation of the myocardium. This technique may improve utility of cardiac T2 mapping in diseases affecting the endocardium and epicardium, and in patients with a small heart.  相似文献

A highly efficient planar heterojunction OSC based on zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc)/fullerene (C60) by controlling the orientation of the ZnPc by using copper iodide (CuI) as the interfacial layer is reported. The proportion of face-on ZnPc molecules was increased significantly on the CuI layer compared to the layer without the CuI layer, which was analyzed with wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) and optical absorption. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the orientation controlled planar heterojunction OSC was remarkably enhanced to 3.2 ± 0.1% compared with 1.2 ± 0.1% of the conventional OSCs without the control of the molecular orientation. By inserting the 3-nm-thick CuI layer, JSC, VOC and FF have increased from 4.6 ± 0.2 to 8.9 ± 0.2 mA cm?2, from 0.48 ± 0.01 to 0.59 ± 0.02 V, and from 0.56 ± 0.01 to 0.61 ± 0.02, respectively. VOC enhancement is discussed with the result of the ultraviolet photoemission spectra (UPS) measurements.  相似文献

Polycrystalline (Fe/Pd)n multilayers are grown onto sapphire substrates at room temperature in a UHV system. The number of periods n=40 and the thickness of Pd layers of tPd=4 nm are kept constant, whereas the thickness of the Fe layers is varied from 1.5 to 5 nm. Structural properties are studied by in situ reflection high energy diffraction (RHEED), scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) and ex situ by X-ray diffraction at small angles and large angles. Analyzing the experimental data using the program SUPREX we obtain interplanar distances of dFe=2.03±0.01 Å for an Fe layer thickness larger than about 2.5 nm as expected for (1 1 0) planes of BCC Fe. For Fe layers with thicknesses less than about 2.5 nm the interplanar distance is dFe=2.1±0.01 Å, which is close to the distance between (1 1 1) planes of FCC Fe with a lattice parameter of a=3.64 Å. Magnetic susceptibility measurements at temperatures between 1.5 and 300 K for (Fe/Pd)n multilayers with FCC Fe yield a magnetic moment per Fe atom of μ=2.7±0.1 μB, which is about 20% larger compared to μ=2.2 μB for BCC Fe. We show that the occurrence of the large magnetic moment originates from FCC Fe being in the high spin (HS) state rather than from polarization effects of Pd at Fe/Pd interfaces.  相似文献

Multilayers composed of Fe and MgF2 with layer thicknesses between 9 Å and 100 Å and of 30 Å, respectively, were prepared with an ultrahigh-vacuum deposition technique. Medium-angle X-ray data show that the Fe layers in the BCC phase have considerable (1 1 0) texture. Periodicity due to multilayered structures was confirmed by a small-angle X-ray diffraction study and cross-section transmission electron microscope for films with Fe layer thicknesses >45 Å. In an Fe/MgF2(9 Å/30 Å) sample, an island structure for the Fe layers was suggested by the existence of superparamagnetism in a film. At 4.2 K, enhancements of both magnetization and hyperfine field were observed in films having Fe layers thinner than 40 Å. The maxima in the magnetization (233 emu/g of Fe) and in the average hyperfine field (390 kOe) at 4.2 K were found in an Fe/MgF2(9 Å/30 Å) film and were approximately 105% and 115% that of the bulk α-Fe, respectively. The thickness dependence suggests a 12% enhancement in the magnetic moment of interface Fe atoms. No exchange bias was found in the films, implying that antiferromagnetic fluorides are not formed at the interface, which is different from the case of Fe/LiF and Fe/CaF2 multilayers.  相似文献

Magnetization reversal mechanism in nanostructures composed of exchange coupled bi-layers with in-plane and perpendicular anisotropy was investigated. Micromagnetic simulation was carried out for bit-patterned media with areal density of 5 Tb/in2, as example. Magnetization of thermally stable recorded bit using a single layer may not switch under write field. However, a complete and fast switching is possible with an exchange coupling to a layer with in-plane anisotropy. By adjusting the thicknesses and intrinsic properties of the two layers, the composite recording layer still can retain perpendicular anisotropy. The exchange coupled structure with dual-anisotropy can be extended to magnetic memories.  相似文献

The method for exchange coupling parameter J calculations using a broken-symmetry treatment is extended to three-dimensional periodic DFT calculations for three antiferromagnetic polymorphic forms of Cu(pca)2, pca = pyridine-2-carboxylate. The calculated values (<1 cm−1) are slightly underestimated in comparison with experimental data. For comparison with the cluster treatment, the J values are rationalized using the nearest-neighbors model for polymeric chains.  相似文献

The relation between the interlayer exchange coupling and magnetic order is addressed, using Fe/V(0 0 1) superlattices as a model system. Large decrease in the ordering temperature (Tc) is observed with decreasing interlayer exchange coupling. The effective exponents of the magnetization were determined to be larger than 0.5 for all the samples, which is strongly deviating from the classical values of both two- and three-dimensional systems. This effect can partially be ascribed to the presence of boundaries, invoked by the finite number of magnetic layers.  相似文献

This paper characterizes and compares the degradation mechanisms of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS)-based thin film photovoltaic (PV) modules during exposure to damp heat (85 °C/85% RH) for 1000 h and thermal cycling (−40 °C/85 °C) for 1000 cycles. After damp heat (DH) exposure, the efficiency of the PV modules was reduced from the initial value of ∼12.5 ± 0.1% to 10.5 ± 0.2% due to increase of the resistivity in the AZO and CIGS layers. The optical band gap was also decreased from the initial value of 3.60 eV–3.54 eV after 1000-h DH exposure. This behavior was associated with oxygen adsorption and the generation of hydroxides in the AZO layer. The efficiency of the PV modules after subjection to thermal cycling (TC) was decreased to 11.4 ± 0.2% due to increase of the resistivity of the AZO and CIGS layers. The increase in the resistivity was interpreted as being due to oxygen adsorption, as well as the formation of micro-cracks in the AZO films.  相似文献

Measurements of In2S3 and ZnIn2S4 sprayed thin films thermal characteristics have been carried out using the photodetection technique. The thermal conductivity k and diffusivity D were obtained using a new protocol based on photothermal signal parameters analysis. Measured values of k and D were respectively, (15.2 ± 0.85) W m−1K−1 and (69.8 ± 7.1) × 10−6 m2s−1 for In2S3, (7.2 ± 0.7) W m−1K−1 and (32.7 ± 4.3) × 10−6 m2s−1 for ZnIn2S4. These values are extremely important since similar compounds are more and more proposed as Cd-free alternative materials for solar cells buffer layers.  相似文献

The growth and magnetic properties of Tin Selenide (SnSe) doped with Eu2+ Sn1?xEuxSe (x=2.5%) were investigated. Q-band (34 GHz) electron paramagnetic resonance measurements show that the site symmetry of Eu2+ at 4.2 K is orthorhombic and the Landé factor was determined to be g=1.99±0.01. The exchange coupling between nearest-neighbor (NN) Eu2+ ions was estimated from magnetization and magnetic-susceptibility measurements using a model that takes into account the magnetic contributions of single ions, pairs and triplets. The exchange interaction between Eu2+ nearest neighbors was found to be antiferromagnetic with an estimated average value of Jp/kB=?0.18±0.03 K.  相似文献

Strong effects of ferromagnetic layer (FMCo, and Ni80Fe20) on the magnitude and blocking temperature of exchange coupling are observed in antiferromagnetic NiO-based films NiO (5 nm)/FM1 (t nm)/FM2 (6-t nm). The existence of interfacial spins configuration in glass-like state and FM anisotropy are proposed to interpret a minimum shown in thermal magnetization curves for films with strong exchange coupling effect. The microstructural change of FM layer and the long-range interaction of exchange bias are taken into account to explain a strong dependence of exchange coupling energy density on the thickness tF of FM layer when tF<5 nm.  相似文献

Using time-differential perturbed-angular-correlation technique, hyperfine fields at 99Tc (←99Mo) in the Mo layers in polyimide/Fe (10 nm)/[Mo (t Mo)/Fe (2.0 nm)]120, where t Mo is in the range between 0.4 and 1.5 nm, were measured at room temperature. The values of the magnetic hyperfine field at the Mo/Fe interface were extracted. Its dependence on the Mo layer thickness suggests that the oscillatory interlayer exchange coupling is due to conduction electron spin polarization in the Mo layer, which in turn is produced via an RKKY-type mechanism.  相似文献

We have investigated the exchange coupling of Co/Cr(0 0 1) superlattices by polar and longitudinal magneto-optical Kerr effect measurements, by varying both the Co and Cr film thicknesses. At a Co thickness of ≈10 Å a nearly perpendicular anisotropy is found with antiferromagnetic order in the range of 5–15 Å of Cr thickness. For these superlattices the magnetization curve starting from remanence to saturation is characterized by a surface spin-flip transition at low field, followed by domain wall nucleation and motion, and finally by a coherent spin rotation with increasing field. Antiferromagnetic coupling is also observed for superlattices with thicker Co layers and with in-plane magnetic anisotropy.  相似文献

PurposeWe aimed to investigate whether quantitative diffusivity variables of healthy ovaries vary during the menstrual cycle and to evaluate alterations in women using oral contraceptives (OC).MethodsThis prospective study (S-339/2016) included 30 healthy female volunteers, with (n = 15) and without (n = 15) intake of OC between 07/2017 and 09/2019. Participants underwent 3T diffusion-weighted MRI (b-values 0–2000 s/mm2) three times during a menstrual cycle (T1 = day 1–5; T2 = day 7–12; T3 = day 19–24). Both ovaries were manually three-dimensionally segmented on b = 1500 s/mm2; apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) calculation and kurtosis fitting (Dapp, Kapp) were performed. Differences in ADC, Dapp and Kapp between time points and groups were compared using repeated measures ANOVA and t-test after Shapiro-Wilk and Brown-Forsythe test for normality and equal variance.ResultsIn women with a natural menstrual cycle, ADC and kurtosis variables showed significant changes in ovaries with the dominant follicle between T1 vs T2 and T1 vs T3, whilst no differences were observed between T2 vs T3: ADC ± SD for T1 1.524 ± 0.160, T2 1.737 ± 0.160, and T3 1.747 ± 0.241 μm2/ms (p = 0.01 T2 vs T1; p = 1.0 T2 vs T3, p = 0.003 T3 vs T1); Dapp ± SD for T1 2.018 ± 0.140, T2 2.272 ± 0.189, and T3 2.230 ± 0.256 μm2/ms (p = 0.003 T2 vs T1, p = 1.0 T2 vs T3, p = 0.02 T3 vs T1); Kapp ± SD for T1 0.614 ± 0.0339, T2 0.546 ± 0.0637, and T3 0.529 ± 0.0567 (p < 0.001 T2 vs T1, p = 0.86 T2 vs T3, p < 0.001 T3 vs T1). No significant differences were found in the contralateral ovaries or in females taking OC.ConclusionPhysiological cycle-dependent changes in quantitative diffusivity variables of ovaries should be considered especially when interpreting radiomics analyses in reproductive women.  相似文献

In this work, we use Monte Carlo simulations with the Metropolis algorithm to study the dilution effect on the magnetic properties in a honeycomb nano-lattice. The geometry of the system is formed by two sub-lattices of 45+45 = 90 atoms consisting of the spins σ = 3/2 and S = 5/2. The ground state phase diagrams at zero absolute temperature are presented. Also, the variation of the total magnetization with reduced temperature for several values of the reduced exchange coupling are discussed. It is found that the compensation temperature depends on the reduced exchange coupling parameters. Furthermore, the dilution of the S spins affects the compensation temperature and hysteresis loops of the studied system.  相似文献

The carrier mobility of sputter-deposited Al-doped ZnO transparent-conducting (ZnO:Al) thin films was controlled between 22 and 48 cm2/Vs by varying the ZnO:Al seed layer. The statistical distribution of the [001] grain misorientation was characterized from the X-ray diffraction rocking curve in the range from 0.043 (2.5°) to 0.179 rad (10.2°). The grain-boundary energy barriers (Eb) from Seto's model [1] clearly exhibit linear dependence on the grain-boundary misorientation angle (ω) according to the equation Eb = 78 ± 4 + 173 ± 32 ω meV.  相似文献

The hysteresis loops as well as the spin distributions of Sm–Co/α-Fe bilayers have been investigated by both threedimensional(3D) and one-dimensional(1D) micromagnetic calculations, focusing on the effect of the interface exchange coupling under various soft layer thicknesses t~s. The exchange coupling coefficient Ahsbetween the hard and soft layers varies from 1.8 × 10~(-6)erg/cm to 0.45 × 10~(-6)erg/cm, while the soft layer thickness increases from 2 nm to 10 nm. As the exchange coupling decreases, the squareness of the loop gradually deteriorates, both pinning and coercive fields rise up monotonically, and the nucleation field goes down. On the other hand, an increment of the soft layer thickness leads to a significant drop of the nucleation field, the deterioration of the hysteresis loop squareness, and an increase of the remanence. The simulated loops based on the 3D and 1D methods are consistent with each other and in good agreement with the measured loops for Sm–Co/α-Fe multilayers.  相似文献

A mechanism of the interlayer exchange coupling in layered structures of the Fe/Cr(001) type with rough interfaces is proposed. The theory is based on a model of the charge-induced spin density wave (SDW) formed in the chromium layer. It is shown that the effective magnetic coupling between thick ferromagnetic layers arises due to variations of the SDW vector orientation in the antiferromagnetic layer over a characteristic length ζ determined by the exchange stiffness of chromium. A general expression for the effective magnetic coupling energy E(ψ) as a function of the angle ψ between magnetic moments of the ferromagnetic layers is obtained and numerically analyzed for an arbitrary value of the parameter ρζ, where ρ is the density of monoatomic steps on the interface. For ρζ?1, the form of E(ψ) is typical of a model with the “ biquadratic” interaction, while in the case of ρζ?1, the dependence obtained differs significantly. The proposed mechanism is used to interpret the results of measurements of the interlayer exchange coupling in Fe/Cr(001) structures.  相似文献
