Existing visualization techniques used by mutual fund managers focus on the active portfolio management strategies. However, an important aspect of mutual funds is to visualize and understand the fund composition observed at specific points in time. Such a visualization will leverage the fund manager with the power to investigate and to capture forecasting differences and future performance. Our research here is to design a new visualization system that has an Entity-Relationship (E-R) model at the heart of the system and reveals not only the aggregate behavior of the mutual funds, but also the behavior of the mutual fund managers who manage these funds. We find some preliminary evidence that mutual funds in the world market represent a strong geographical pattern, and some potential niche markets are now extracted that stands out in the global scenario such as the returns from funds that belong to a specific country. For the analysis of security distribution, it helps to distinguish the most popular securities from other ordinary ones for an increased realization of profit. Also based on our experience with such huge world fund data to achieve a trade-off between time efficiency and graphics quality, we recommend the approach of splatting visualization, which indicates the influence of a particular security in a fund’s portfolio.  相似文献

To visualize the simulation and experimental data, the fluid dynamics scientists and engineers have to possess a powerful visualization engine with CG package in their laboratories. We developed a Problem Solving Environment (PSE) system called “PIV Web Visualization System” to solve this obstacle, using computational grid common service tool “Globus”, programming language Java and Java Servlet. This system has “Grid Portal” which enables us to view the visualization resources on the networks as a unified whole and can be accessed around the world through the Internet, and it combines PIV engine “KMU-PIV” on visualization server in Korea Maritime University with a nonlinear video editing system on Kanazawa University as a real application.  相似文献

Outside of the fields where flow visualization is traditionally applied, there exist many processes where fluid phenomena are critical. Here, we survey flow visualization work with a focus on two thermal metal cutting processes. These two processes – plasma-arc cutting and gas assisted laser cutting – account for a large fraction of the means by which steel is cut in our world. Plasma-arc cutting utilizes an electric arc transferred between a cathode and the steel being cut to produce a high temperature gas jet that melts and removes metal. In gas assisted laser cutting, the assist jet is often high-pressure supersonic nitrogen for stainless steel, or near-atmospheric pressure, low-speed oxygen for carbon steel. Visualization of these millimeter-range diameter jets helps to understand the different roles that the assist gas has in these cutting processes, particularly with how the jets interact with the metal being cut. We describe experimental techniques for visualization of the arc jet and gas assist jet, as well as the liquid metal flows being removed from the cut and the gas flow in the torch itself. These visualizations overcome the small physical scales of the process, the bright illumination from the arc itself, and harsh high-temperature environment. The results lend perspective and understanding of the physical phenomena important to process control.  相似文献

It results from recent works of Prigogine and collaborators that one can construct a nonunitary operator which realizes an “equivalence” between the positive actions of a reversible dynamical system and an irreversible Markov process going to equilibrium. We consider here this construction and we prove that (a) forK-shifts the transition probability of the associated Markov process is concentrated in the stable manifold of the transformed point by the shift with a point mass concentrated on the deterministic trajectory; and (b) for Bernoulli shifts the measures which go to equilibrium are the same for the deterministic system and the Markov process.  相似文献

The ‘charge state breeder’, BRIC (breeding ion charge) is in construction at the INFN section of Bari (Italy). It is based on EBIS scheme and it is designed to accept radioactive ion beam (RIB) with charge state +1 in a slow injection mode. This experiment can be considered as a first step towards the design and construction of a charge breeder for the SPES project. The new feature of BRIC, with respect to the classical EBIS, is given by the insertion, in the ion chamber, of a rf-quadrupole aiming at filtering the unwanted masses and then making a more efficient containment of the wanted ions. In this paper, the breeder design, the simulation results of the electron and ion beam propagation and the construction problems of the device will be reported.  相似文献

Visualization is an interdisciplinary imaging technique devoted to make the invisible visible by the techniques of experimental and computer-aided visualizations. It is applicable to various phenomena such as flow, heat, sound, electromagnetism, chemical kinetics and any of their combinations. This review describes the process of development, the present state and fruit of application, and the expectation of future development of visualization using examples. These examples expand to a wide range of fields including engineering, physics, medical science, agriculture, oceanography, meteorology and sports science.  相似文献

In time-varying scientific datasets from simulations or experimental observations, scientists always need to understand when and where interesting events occur. An event is a complex spatial and temporal pattern that happens over a course of timesteps and includes the involved features and interactions. Event detection allows scientists to query a time-varying dataset from a much smaller set of possible choices. However, with many events detected from a dataset, each spanning different time intervals, querying and visualizing these events pose a challenge. In this work, we propose a framework for the visualization of events in time-varying scientific datasets. Our method extracts features from a data, tracks features over time, and saves the evolution process of features in an event database where a set of database operations are provided to model an event by defining the stages or individual steps that make up an event. Using the feature metadata and the event database, three types of event visualizations can be created to give a unique insight into the dynamics of data from temporal, spatial, and physical perspectives and to summarize multiple events or even the whole dataset. Three case studies are used to demonstrate the usability and effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

为了更好的保证公路施工质量,保障施工人员的生命财产安全,建设平安和谐社会,为广大群众提供一个便利、舒适、安全地空间,需要对公路施工监控系统进行设计。当前的公路施工监控系统设计方法是利用图像处理板对其进行监控,监控过程中图像处理板的体积太大,没有设置隐蔽性屏障,导致监控盲点多,存在监控整体性能低,监控系统效果差的问题。为此,提出一种基于几何控制的公路施工智能监控系统设计方法。该方法首先确定公路施工监控类型,并对公路施工监控系统进行构造,然后以公路施工监控系统的构造为基础,利用编码感知路由,将各个终端监控的数据信息传输至监控系统中心,最后采用蛇形时隙数据存储算法将公路施工终端的监控信息数据全部存储,由此完成对公路施工的智能监控的系统设计。实验结果证明,所提方法可以对公路施工进行全方位,安全可靠地智能监控,减少了突发事件发生处理时间和监控盲点,增加了公路施工速度,更大程度地保障了施工人员的人身安全,为该领域的研究发展提供了强有力的依据。  相似文献

随着光伏充电站基础设施的广泛建设,为电动汽车用户提供便利的同时,也为其管理带来了巨大的挑战;为了实现对光伏充电站更加有效的管理,在分析分布式光伏充电站数据通信方案的基础上,设计了一种光伏充电站Web实时监控平台;该平台基于ZigBee技术、GPRS-DTU技术、HTTP协议设计了直流充电桩无线传感器数据采集方案,部署数据库服务器、Web服务器以克服充电站无人值守的问题,实现对该分布式系统的集中管控,同时设计用于充电预约、监控、提醒等功能的安卓用户APP以提升用户体验,并对该系统进行实验验证;经验证,该设计方案能够有效实现对分布式光伏充电站的实时数据采集与Web端集中管控,为充电站无人值守与远程监控提供了一种有效的技术解决方案。  相似文献

It is known that the actions of field theories on a noncommutative space-time can be written as some modified (we call them θ-modified) classical actions already on the commutative space-time (introducing a star product). Then the quantization of such modified actions reproduces both space-time noncommutativity and the usual quantum mechanical features of the corresponding field theory. In the present article, we discuss the problem of constructing θ-modified actions for relativistic QM. We construct such actions for relativistic spinless and spinning particles. The key idea is to extract θ-modified actions of the relativistic particles from path-integral representations of the corresponding noncommutative field theory propagators. We consider the Klein–Gordon and Dirac equations for the causal propagators in such theories. Then we construct for the propagators path-integral representations. Effective actions in such representations we treat as θ-modified actions of the relativistic particles. To confirm the interpretation, we canonically quantize these actions. Thus, we obtain the Klein–Gordon and Dirac equations in the noncommutative field theories. The θ-modified action of the relativistic spinning particle is just a generalization of the Berezin–Marinov pseudoclassical action for the noncommutative case.  相似文献

Neutrinoless double-beta decay (ββ(0ν)) is the most sensitive process in the search for leptonic number violation and its discovery would prove that the neutrino is a Majorana particle. Recently O’Connell introduced an interacting diffusive particle system in order to study a directed polymer model in 1+1 dimensions. The infinitesimal generator of the process is a harmonic transform of the quantum Toda-lattice Hamiltonian by the Whittaker function. As a physical interpretation of this construction, we show that the O’Connell process without drift is realized as a system of mutually killing Brownian motions conditioned that all particles survive forever. When the characteristic length of interaction killing other particles goes to zero, the process is reduced to the noncolliding Brownian motion (the Dyson model).  相似文献

The ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider has implemented a new system for recording information on detector status and data quality, and for transmitting this information to users performing physics analysis. This system revolves around the concept of “defects,” which are well-defined, fine-grained, unambiguous occurrences affecting the quality of recorded data. Polycrystalline copper wires are drawn in a single and multiple step for the equivalent area reduction (RA) of ∼33% The single step and multiple step drawing process was simulated using a rate independent crystal plasticity with finite strain, which is implemented as a user routine in commercial finite element package ABAQUS. The texture of the copper wires were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and compared with the texture based finite element (FE) simulation predictions. Initial 〈10 0〉 fiber decreases during the drawing process and is replaced by 〈1 1 1〉 fiber. The 〈1 1 1〉 oriented grains are predominant in a single step drawing compared to a multiple step of the equivalent area reduction. The finite element analysis takes into account active crystallographic slip and orientation effects during the drawing process. Regions at the interface of die–wire exhibited complex textures, which was widely seen in the multiple step drawing pattern.  相似文献

In this paper, we construct a microscopic mechanism for the epidemic processes in heterogeneous populations, which contains two basic assumptions: all edges of the network are broken and reconnected at every time step among the epidemic process; the probability of randomly chosen two half-edges to make a pair is identical. We define the stochastic epidemic process and get the epidemic distributions numerically according to the transmission probability λ. Two different phases are observed, which means the onset of phase transition, and the threshold value is very small. Under the thermodynamic limit, the process can be approximated by a deterministic dynamical system. About this deterministic system, we get the analytical threshold value, which is consistent with the numerical results of the epidemic distributions.  相似文献

We present a graphics hardware-based system for interactive denoising, vortex detection, and visualization of vector data. No intermediate results need to be read back by the application once the vector field has been loaded onto the graphics adapter. Due to modern GPUs’ parallel processing capabilities, our system significantly outperforms software implementations and thus provides a valuable tool for the interactive exploration of vector fields and the understanding of flow structures.  相似文献

High-resolution data of online chats are studied as a physical system in the laboratory in order to quantify collective behavior of users. Our analysis reveals strong regularities characteristic of natural systems with additional features. In particular, we find self-organized dynamics with long-range correlations in user actions and persistent associations among users that have the properties of a social network. Furthermore, the evolution of the graph and its architecture with specific kk-core structure are shown to be related with the type and the emotion arousal of exchanged messages. Partitioning of the graph by deletion of the links which carry high arousal messages exhibits critical fluctuations at the percolation threshold.  相似文献
