In this paper, a continuous-wave (CW) diode-side-pumped Nd:YAlO3 (Nd:YAP) laser operating at the weak line of 1339 nm has been achieved and investigated. The output of the 1339 nm laser was realized based on the polarization selection and reasonable transmittance design. The relationship between the output powers and resonator lengths of the 1339 nm Nd:YAP laser has been studied and the optimum resonator length was adopted to improve the output power. As high as 31.3 W output power of the a-axis polarized 1339 nm laser has been obtained at the pumping power of 555 W with the optical-optical and slope efficiencies to be 5.6% and 13%, respectively. This work will provide an effective way to obtain the weak line lasers for potential applications in spectroscopy, coherent terahertz generation, etc.  相似文献

A high-power continuous-wave (CW) diode-end-pumped intracavity-frequency-doubled red laser is reported here. The laser consists of a 0.3 at.% Nd:GdVO4 crystal as laser gain medium, a type II non-critical phase-matched (NCPM) LBO crystal or a type I critical phase-matched (CPM) LBO crystal as frequency-doubler, and a three-mirror-folded cavity. At incident pump power of about 41 W, maximum output powers of 3.8 W and 3 W at 671 nm are obtained with corresponding optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 9.3% and 7.5%, respectively. During half an hour, the instability of the red beam is less than 3% at output of 3 W.  相似文献

A dual-wavelength laser at 1064 nm and 1319 nm is obtained by a single Nd:YAG crystal rod. On the basis of 1064 nm and 1319 nm dual-wavelength laser installation, the second harmonic waves at 532 nm and 660 nm can be achieved by using non-linear frequency conversion technology. When 1064 nm and 1319 nm lasers oscillate simultaneously, the maximum output power is 30.5 W and 8.78 W, respectively. When the 1319 nm laser is restrained, we obtain a 35.6 W maximum output power at 1064 nm and by contrary 11.2 W at 1319 nm. The maximum output powers of 532 nm and 660 nm lasers are 5.34 W and 1.353 W when oscillating simultaneously. With one of them restrained, the maximum output power is 6.72 W at 532 nm and 1.90 W at 660 nm. The optimum repetition rate of the acousto-optic Q-switch is 10.5 KHz and 20.5 KHz for 532 nm and 660 nm lasers, respectively. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency from the fundamental waves to the harmonic waves is 17.5% and 15.4%. The instability is less than 2%.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high-power red-green-blue laser source based on the quasi-phase-matching and intermittent oscillating dual-wavelength laser technique. A cascaded LiTaO3 superlattice was used to achieve the generation of red light at 660 nm, green light at 532 nm, and blue light at 440 nm to obtain the output of red-green-blue laser light from a diode-side-pumped Q-switched intermittent oscillating dual-wavelength Nd:YAG laser. The average output power of red-green-blue of 1.01 W was achieved under the total fundamental power of 5.1 W, which corresponds to the conversion efficiency of 20%.  相似文献

In this paper, a high-power continuous-wave deep blue laser at 447 nm with intracavity tripling was achieved. The deep blue laser at 447 nm is obtained by using a doubly cavity, and type-II critical phase matching KTP crystal for intracavity sum-frequency mixing. Through designing of the cavity, the optimum matching of modes and gains for the two wavelengths was obtained. With incident pump power of 30 W for the Nd:YVO4 crystal and 16 W for the other Nd:YVO4 crystal, the deep blue laser output of 3.5 W at 447 nm with TEM00 mode was obtained, the beam quality M2 value was equal to 1.8 in both horizontal and vertical directions at the maximum output power, and the power stability is better than 3% at the maximum output power during half an hour. The experimental results show that the intracavity sum-frequency mixing by doubly resonant is an effective method for high-power blue laser.  相似文献

In the paper, a new way of intracavity frequency-tripled all-solid-state laser to generate continuous wave blue coherent radiation is firstly demonstrated. High-efficiency of continuous wave third harmonic generation using the approach of double-resonance at fundamental frequency and second harmonic is developed by insertion of one wedge prism for the phase control. The maximum output power at the wavelength of 447 nm, which was generated with two long LiB3O4 crystals by noncritical phase matching, is about 1.15 W with a beam quality factor of M2 of 1.05. From the experimental results, the generation of continuous wave blue light using this way with higher conversion efficiency can be achieved.  相似文献

We report a high-power dual-wavelength Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser based on a few-mode fiber Bragg grating (FMFBG). The FMFBG was fabricated by using a piece of fiber in a length of fiber with a cutoff wavelength of 1225 nm, which supported two modes at 1060 nm. The laser was pumped by a fiber pigtailed laser diode working at 915 nm. Single-wavelength, dual-wavelength and triple-wavelength laser oscillations were observed when the fiber laser operated under different low pump powers. However, stable dual-wavelength operation was achieved at higher pump power of 3.9 W and remained unchanged until the output power reached 5.67 W under the maximum available pump power of 10.7 W. The laser wavelengths were centered at 1059.12 and 1060.80 nm with a full-width at half-maximum of 37 and 43 pm, respectively. The signal-to-noise-ratio was greater than 50 dB and the beam quality factor (M2) was about 1.9.  相似文献

We report an L-shaped symmetrical co-folding-arm plane-plane diode pumped solid-state yellow laser at 589 nm by using intracavity sum-frequency mixing. By carefully designing the cavity and employing various techniques to optimize the laser’s specifications, a quasi-continuous-wave (QCW) free-oscillation yellow laser source, which has an average output power of 8.1 W, a beam quality factor of M2 = 2.3, and a repetition rate of 1.1 kHz, is developed. The generation of yellow laser at 589 nm is achieved by intracavity sum-frequency mixing between the laser lines at 1319 nm and 1064 nm of an Nd:YAG laser in a KTP crystal. To the best of our knowledge, the 8.1 W output at 589 nm is higher than any other diode pumped solid-state yellow laser generated by intracavity sum-frequency generation so far.  相似文献

Output beams from three independently frequency-stabilized thulium master-oscillator power-amplifier fiber laser systems were spectrally combined using a plane-ruled metal diffraction grating. Two laser channels were frequency-stabilized with guided mode resonance filters and the third was stabilized using a plane-ruled metal diffraction grating. The systems had output wavelengths between 1984 and 2015 nm, each with a spectral width of 100-450 pm and output powers between 40-120 W. The combined beam had powers up to 49 W and was 32% efficient with respect to the launched pump power.  相似文献

Based on the analysis of laser threshold of quasi-three-level laser system and the parameters optimization of resonant cavity, a compact setup of 457 nm blue-ray laser system is designed, and the laser operation at 914 nm and its second harmonic at 457 nm was obtained by intracavity frequency doubling with LBO nonlinear crystal. At an incident pump power of 24.3 W, the maximum output power at 457 nm is 2.34 W the optical-to-optical conversion efficiency is greater than 9.74%, and the fluctuation of the blue output power is less than 3.01%, besides, laser threshold of this laser system is 3.7 W which is the lowest at present.  相似文献

An efficient continuous-wave (CW) simultaneous dual-wavelength lasing (SDWL) of an LD end-pumped Nd:YAG laser utilizing a quasi-three-level transition at 946 nm and a four-level transition at 1064 nm is reported. A theoretical model has been introduced to determine the threshold conditions for SDWL. The temperature distributions of a Nd:YAG crystal under different pump powers have been analyzed. In the experiments, a CW SDWL output power of 5.12 W at a temperature of 273 K has been achieved with a pump power of 17 W, giving a slope efficiency of 16.36%.  相似文献

We demonstrate broadband tuning visible light generation based on a multi-channel quasi-periodically poled LiTaO3 crystal, in which a quasi-phase matched optical parametric generation process and a quasi-phase matched sum-frequency mixing process were achieved simultaneously. The conversion characters on spectrum and energy were studied by using a nanosecond pulse laser at 1.064 μm as pump light. We could tune the visible light over ~ 26 nm by means of changing the crystal's channel and temperature. The ratio of the output wavelength variation to that of temperature was ~ 0.07 nm/°C. The single-pass slope efficiency was 6.3% with the maximum output energy of 25 μJ.  相似文献

Fiber laser resonator configurations have been analyzed theoretically on the basis of steady-state rate equations to optimize the laser conversion efficiency. Evolution of the pump- and signal powers and the saturated gain coefficient along the length of the laser medium has been simulated for high- and low-finesse resonators in forward- and backward pumping schemes. The corresponding fiber laser configurations have been setup to verify the results of simulation. Backward pumping configuration in an Yb-doped fiber laser has been found to be the most efficient, and in this configuration a maximum cw output power of 10.75 W in single transverse mode with an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 62.5% has been achieved. The laser output spectrum was peaked at 1093 nm with full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) line-width of about 9 nm. In the low-finesse resonator configuration, it has been found that experimental observations differ from theoretical simulation results. In this case, output power from both ends ceases to increase linearly beyond 1.8 W, and starts fluctuating due to the onset of strong random self-pulsing phenomenon. Our investigation shows that a non-uniform steady-state gain along the fiber length facilitates the self-pulsing process.  相似文献

We have achieved efficient third-harmonic generation (THG) with an electro-optically Q-switched diode-end-pumped slab laser by cascading second-harmonic and sum-frequency generation in a lithium triborate (LBO) crystal. The high conversion efficiency, short pulse length and high pulse energy is the characteristic of the output 355 nm light. An average power of 11.1 W at a repetition rate of 10 kHz was achieved. The pulse energy is 1.1 mJ and the pulse length is 5 ns. The peak power of pulse is 0.22 MW. The conversion efficiency from 1064 nm to 355 nm reached 44.4% which is to our knowledge the highest conversion efficiency. Furthermore, the 355 nm light is near TEM00 mode. The beam quality is M2 < 1.5. In this paper, the experimental setup, results and the factors which can affect the conversion efficiency are discussed.  相似文献

A high power, quasi-continuous wave ultraviolet laser at 355 nm was obtained by intracavity frequency tripling of a diode side-pumped acousto-optic (AO) Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. Type II critical phase-matched KTP and LBO crystals were used for the second harmonic generation and the third harmonic generation, respectively. Under the pump power of 180 W, 7.8 W average output power at 355 nm was obtained at 8 kHz with the pulse width of 50 ns, corresponding to the pump-to-ultraviolet conversion efficiency of 4.3%. The peak power and single pulse energies were estimated to be 18.8 kW and 938 μJ. Its far-field divergence was measured to be about 3.8 mrad. The instability of the 355 nm laser was less than 1% at an output power of 6.3 W for 2 h operation.  相似文献

The power stability in 30 min is better than 3.5%.  相似文献

Pulsed UV lasers at the wavelengths of 374 and 280 nm are realized by cascaded second harmonic generation (SHG) and sum frequency generation (SFG) processes using a Nd:YAG laser at 1123 nm. The Nd:YAG laser is longitudinally pumped and passively Q-switched, and it has a high peak power of 3.2 kW. The UV peak powers at 280 and 374 nm are 100 and 310 W, with pulse lengths of 6 and 8 ns, respectively. Spectral broadening of 374 nm laser by stimulated Raman scattering is studied in single mode pure silica core UV fiber. Realizations of UV lasers enabling compact design at 280 and 374 nm wavelengths are demonstrated.  相似文献

An active Q-switched diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG laser is reported with 2.9 W output power on the 4F3/2 → 4I9/2 transitions at a pump power of 24 W. With intracavity frequency doubling using a 20-mm-long LBO, a maximum blue output power of 2.25 W is achieved at a repetition rate of 23 kHz. The conversion efficiency from the corresponding Q-switched fundamental output to blue output is 96%. The peak power of the Q-switched blue pulse is up to 610 W with 160 ns pulse width. The fluctuation of the blue output power is less than 4.0% at the maximum output power.  相似文献

We report on the generation of high average power, high repetition rate, and picosecond (ps) deep-ultraviolet (DUV) 177.3 nm laser. The DUV laser is produced by second-harmonic generation of a frequency-tripled mode-locked Nd: YVO4 laser (<15 ps, 80 MHz) with KBBF nonlinear crystal. The influence of different fundamental beam diameters on DUV output power and KBBF-SHG conversion efficiency are investigated. Under the 355 nm pump power of 7.5 W with beam diameter of 145 μm, 41 mW DUV output at 177.3 nm is obtained. To our knowledge, this is the highest average power for the 177.3 nm laser. Our results provide a power scaling by three times with respect to previous best works.  相似文献
