The present work deals with the mapping of an ultrasonic bath for the maximum extraction of mangiferin from Mangifera indica leaves. I3 liberation experiments (chemical transformations) and extraction (physical transformations) were carried out at different locations in an ultrasonic bath and compared. The experimental findings indicated a similar trend in variation in an ultrasonic bath by both these methods. Various parameters such as position and depth of vessel in an ultrasonic bath, diameter and shape of a vessel, frequency and input power which affect the extraction yield have been studied in detail. Maximum yield of mangiferin obtained was approximately 31 mg/g at optimized parameters: distance of 2.54 cm above the bottom of the bath, 7 cm diameter of vessel, flat bottom vessel, 6.35 cm liquid height, 122 W input power and 25 kHz frequency. The present work indicates that the position and depth of vessel in an ultrasonic bath, diameter and shape of a vessel, frequency and input power have significant effect on the extraction yield. This work can be used as a base for all ultrasonic baths to obtain maximum efficiency for ultrasound assisted extraction.  相似文献

The effects of amplitude and time of ultrasound-assisted extraction on the physicochemical properties and the fatty acid profile of pumpkin seed oil (Cucurbita pepo) were evaluated. Ultrasound time (5–30 min) and the response variables amplitude (25–100%), extraction yield, efficiency, oxidative stability in terms of the free fatty acids (FFA) of the plant design comprising two independent experiments variables, peroxide (PV), p-anisidine (AV), totox value (TV) and the fatty acid profile were evaluated. The results were analyzed by multiple linear regression. The time and amplitude showed significant differences (P < 0.05) for all variables. The highest yield of extraction was achieved at 5 min and amplitude of 62.5% (62%). However, the optimal ultrasound-assisted extraction conditions were as follows: ultrasound time of 26.34 min and amplitude of 89.02%. All extracts showed low FFA (2.75–4.93% oleic acid), PV (1.67–4.68 meq/kg), AV (1.94–3.69) and TV (6.25–12.55) values. The main fatty acids in all the extracts were oleic and linoleic acid. Therefore, ultrasound-assisted oil extraction had increased performance and reduced extraction time without affecting the oil quality.  相似文献

The bubble collapse near a wall will generate strong micro-jet in a liquid environment under ultrasonic field. To explore the effect of the impact of near-wall acoustic bubble collapse micro-jet on an aluminum 1060 sheet, the cavitation threshold formula and micro-jet velocity formula were first proposed. Then the Johnson-Cook rate correlation material constitutive model was considered, and a three-dimensional fluid-solid coupling model of micro-jet impact on a wall was established and analyzed. Finally, to validate the model, ultrasonic cavitation test and inversion analysis based on the theory of spherical indentation test were conducted. The results show that cavitation occurs significantly in the liquid under ultrasonic field, as the applied ultrasonic pressure amplitude is much larger than liquid cavitation threshold. Micro pits appear on the material surface under the impact of micro-jet. Pit depth is determined by both micro-jet velocity and micro-jet diameter, and increases with their increase. Pit diameter is mainly related to the micro-jet diameter and dp/dj  0.95–1.2, while pit’s diameter-to-depth ratio is mainly negatively correlated with the micro-jet velocity. Wall pressure distribution is mostly symmetric and its maximum appears on the edge of micro-jet impingement. Obviously, the greater the micro-jet velocity is, the greater the wall pressure is. Micro pits formed after the impact of micro-jet on aluminum 1060 surface were assessed by ultrasonic cavitation test. Inversion analysis results indicate that equivalent stress, equivalent strain of the pit and impact strength, and velocity of the micro-jet are closely related with pit’s diameter-to-depth ratio. For the pit’s diameter-to-depth ratio of 16–68, the corresponding micro-jet velocity calculated is 310–370 m/s.  相似文献

The effectiveness of ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) of pomegranate seed oil (PSO) was evaluated using a variety of solvents. Petroleum ether was the most effective for oil extraction, followed by n-hexane, ethyl acetate, diethyl ether, acetone, and isopropanol. Several variables, such as ultrasonic power, extraction temperature, extraction time, and the ratio of solvent volume and seed weight (S/S ratio) were studied for optimization using response surface methodology (RSM). The highest oil yield, 25.11% (w/w), was obtained using petroleum ether under optimal conditions for ultrasonic power, extraction temperature, extraction time, and S/S ratio at 140 W, 40 °C, 36 min, and 10 ml/g, respectively. The PSO yield extracted by UAE was significantly higher than by using Soxhlet extraction (SE; 20.50%) and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE; 15.72%). The fatty acid compositions were significantly different among the PSO extracted by Soxhlet extraction, SFE, and UAE, with punicic acid (>65%) being the most dominant using UAE.  相似文献

The influence of the applied passive potential on the ultrasonic cavitation erosion of Ti specimen in 1 M HCl solution was investigated by mass loss experiment, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) and Mott–Schottky plot. The results showed that Ti was in the passive state within the potential region from −0.3 VSCE to 1.5 VSCE under ultrasonic cavitation erosion. The applied passive potential can obviously decrease the mass loss of Ti caused by ultrasonic cavitation erosion in 1 M HCl solution. The resistance of the passive film increased, the flat band potential moved to positive direction, and the donor density of the passive film decreased with increasing the passive potential. Finally, a physical model was provided to explain the experimental results based on energy band and semi-conductive theories.  相似文献

The effect of pulse amplitude on the ferroelectric and switching properties of pulsed laser deposited Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3 thin films has been studied. The structural and morphological analysis revealed that the films had a well crystallized perovskite phase and grain size of about 30–40 nm. A well saturated P–E hysteresis loop was observed with a remnant polarization (Pr)  4.8 μC/cm2 and a coercive field  100 kV/cm at a frequency of 1 kHz. The Pr has been found to be decreased only 4.3% after passing 8.0 × 108 cycles. The analysis of switching response with nucleation limited switching model reveals that characteristic switching time (t0) variance is due to the random distribution of the local electric fields. The peak value of polarization current and t0 exhibits exponential dependence on reciprocal of pulse amplitude.  相似文献

This study is performed to experimentally examine the fundamental burning velocity characteristics of meso-scale outwardly propagating spherical laminar flames in the range of flame radius rf approximately from 1 to 5 mm for hydrogen, methane and propane mixtures, in order to make clear a method for improving combustion of micro–meso scale flames. Macro-scale laminar flames with rf > 7 mm are also examined for comparison. The mixtures have nearly the same laminar burning velocity (SL0 = 25 cm/s) for unstretched flames and different equivalence ratios ?. The radius rf and the burning velocity SLl of meso-scale flames are estimated by using sequential schlieren images recorded under appropriate ignition conditions. It is found that SLl of hydrogen and methane premixed meso-scale flames at the same rf or the Karlovitz number Ka shows a tendency to increase with decreasing ?, whereas SLl of propane flames increases with ?. However, SLl tends to decrease with the Lewis number Le and the Markstein number Ma, irrespective of the type of fuel and ?. It also becomes clear that the optimum flame size and Ka to improve the burning velocity exist for some mixtures depending on Le and fuel types.  相似文献

The effectiveness of ultrasonic extraction of phenolics and flavonoids from defatted hemp, flax and canola seed cakes was compared to the conventional extraction method. Ultrasonic treatment at room temperature showed increased polyphenol extraction yield and antioxidant capacity by two-fold over the conventional extraction method. Different combinations of ultrasonic treatment parameters consisting of solvent volume (25, 50, 75 and 100 mL), extraction time (20, 30 and 40 min) and temperature (40, 50, 60 and 70 °C) were selected for polyphenol extractions from the seed cakes. The chosen parameters had a significant effect (p < 0.05) on the polyphenol extraction yield and subsequent antioxidant capacity from the seed cakes. Application of heat during ultrasonic extraction yielded higher polyphenol content in extracts compared to the non-heated extraction. From an orthogonal design test, the best combination of parameters was 50 mL of solvent volume, 20 min of extraction time and 70 °C of ultrasonic temperature.  相似文献

The effects of various factors, including the extraction time, temperature, solvent/material ratio, the ultrasonic intensity and duty cycle of ultrasonic irradiation on the extraction yield of all-trans-lycopene from red grapefruit by ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) were investigated. In comparison with conventional solvent extraction (CSE), UAE showed a pronounced greater extraction yield and reduced extraction time effectively with a peak value at 30 min. The extraction yield was significantly influenced by temperature and the optimum condition was 30 °C. The extraction yield increased with increasing of solvent/material ratio until equilibrium was arrived at the optimal ratio of 3:1 (mL/g). The extraction yield increased first and then decreased with an increase in ultrasonic intensity. The extraction yield of UAE increased with the increase of duty cycle, whereas pulsed ultrasound with proper intervals was more efficient than continuous ultrasonication. The degradation via isomerisation of all-trans-lycopene under ultrasonic treatment was also observed with the formation of 9,13′-di-cis-, 9,13-di-cis-, 15-cis-, 13-cis- and 9-cis-lycopene isomers which were tentatively identified by HPLC-PAD.  相似文献

Curcumin, a dietary phytochemical, has been extracted from rhizomes of Curcuma amada using ultrasound assisted extraction (UAE) and the results compared with the conventional extraction approach to establish the process intensification benefits. The effect of operating parameters such as type of solvent, extraction time, extraction temperature, solid to solvent ratio, particle size and ultrasonic power on the extraction yield have been investigated in details for the approach UAE. The maximum extraction yield as 72% was obtained in 1 h under optimized conditions of 35 °C temperature, solid to solvent ratio of 1:25, particle size of 0.09 mm, ultrasonic power of 250 W and ultrasound frequency of 22 kHz with ethanol as the solvent. The obtained yield was significantly higher as compared to the batch extraction where only about 62% yield was achieved in 8 h of treatment. Peleg’s model was used to describe the kinetics of UAE and the model showed a good agreement with the experimental results. Overall, ultrasound has been established to be a green process for extraction of curcumin with benefits of reduction in time as compared to batch extraction and the operating temperature as compared to Soxhlet extraction.  相似文献

Resveratrol is a promising multi-biofunctional phytochemical, which is abundant in Polygonum cuspidatum. Several methods for resveratrol extraction have been reported, while they often take a long extraction time accompanying with poor extraction yield. In this study, a novel enzyme-assisted ultrasonic approach for highly efficient extraction of resveratrol from P. cuspidatum was developed. According to results, the resveratrol yield significantly increased after glycosidases (Pectinex® or Viscozyme®) were applied in the process of extraction, and better extraction efficacy was found in the Pectinex®-assisted extraction compared to Viscozyme®-assisted extraction. Following, a 5-level-4-factor central composite rotatable design with response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial neural network (ANN) was selected to model and optimize the Pectinex®-assisted ultrasonic extraction. Based on the coefficient of determination (R2) calculated from the design data, ANN model displayed much more accurate in data fitting as compared to RSM model. The optimum conditions for the extraction determined by ANN model were substrate concentration of 5%, acoustic power of 150 W, pH of 5.4, temperature of 55 °C, the ratio of enzyme to substrate of 3950 polygalacturonase units (PGNU)/g of P. cuspidatum, and reaction time of 5 h, which can lead to a significantly high resveratrol yield of 11.88 mg/g.  相似文献

Disintegration of waste-activated sludge (WAS) is regarded as a prerequisite of the anaerobic digestion (AD) process to reduce sludge volume and increase methane yield. Hydrodynamic cavitation (HC), which shares a similar underlying principle with ultrasonication but is energy-efficient, was employed as a physical means to break up WAS. Compared with ultrasonic (180–3600 kJ/kg TS) and thermal methods (72,000 kJ/kg TS), HC (60–1200 kJ/kg TS) found to consume significantly low power. A synergetic effect was observed when HC was combined with alkaline treatment in which NaOH, KOH, and Ca(OH)2 were used as alkaline catalysts at pH ranging from 8 to 13. As expected, the production yield of CH4 gas increased proportionally as WAS disintegration proceeded. HC, when combined with alkaline pretreatment, was found to be a cost-effective substitute to conventional methods for WAS pretreatment.  相似文献

Wheat Dried distiller’s grain (DDG), a coproduct from the ethanol production process, is rich in potentially health-promoting phenolic compounds. In the extraction of phenolic compounds from DDG, the DDG cell wall is an important barrier for mass transfer from the inside to the outside of the cell. The effect of high-power ultrasound pretreatment on destruction of DDG cell walls and extraction yield and rate was investigated. Direct sonication by an ultrasound probe horn at 24 kHz was applied and factors such as ultrasound power and treatment time were investigated. The method of nitrogen (N2) adsorption at 77 K was used as a means to determine and compare the changes in physical properties (specific surface area, pore volume and pore size) of the treated samples at different levels of ultrasound power and treatment time. Increasing specific surface area, pore volume and pore size caused by ultrasonic treatment implied development of new or larger pores and damaged cell walls. Also, it was observed that the ultrasound pretreatment of DDG particles increased the extraction yield and rate of phenolic compounds from DDG by 14.29%. Among tested ultrasound conditions, 100% ultrasound power for 30 s was evaluated as the best pretreatment condition.  相似文献

Stoichiometric Ni-bearing ferrite was formed by air oxidation of an iron(II) hydroxide suspension at an initial Ni : Fetot mol ratio (rNi) of 0.20 : 2.80 at pH 10.0 and 65°C. Most of products formed at rNi=0.40 : 2.60 and 0.60 : 2.40 were Ni-bearing ferrites, of which vacancies of Fe3+ ion on the lattice points may be considered. Only Ni, Zn-bearing ferrites were formed in the suspensions at initial (Ni + Zn)  : Fetot mol ratios (rNi + Zn) of 0.20 : 2.80–0.60 : 2.40 at pH 10.0 and 65°C. At higher rNi or rNi + Zn by-products containing Ni, Fe and O42− were formed. The formation of the by-products was depressed in the suspensions containing chloride ions in the place of sulfate ions.  相似文献

The present work deals with application of sonochemical reactors for the treatment of imidacloprid containing wastewaters either individually or in combination with other advanced oxidation processes. Experiments have been performed using two different configurations of sonochemical reactors viz. ultrasonic horn (20 kHz frequency and rated power of 240 W) and ultrasonic bath equipped with radially vibrating horn (25 kHz frequency and 1 kW rated power). The work also investigates the effect of addition of process intensifying agents such as H2O2 and CuO, which can enhance the production of free radicals in the system. The combination studies with advanced oxidation process involve the advanced Fenton process and combination of ultrasound with UV based oxidation. The extent of degradation obtained using combination of US and H2O2 at optimum loading of H2O2 was found to be 92.7% whereas 96.5% degradation of imidacloprid was achieved using the combination of US and advanced Fenton process. The process involving the combination of US, UV and H2O2 was found to be the best treatment approach where complete degradation of imidacloprid was obtained with 79% TOC removal. It has been established that the use of cavitation in combination with different oxidation processes can be effectively used for the treatment of imidacloprid containing wastewater.  相似文献

A new ultrasonic micro-molding system was used to process polylactide (PLA) and fabricate reduced dimension specimens. Plasticization and molding of PLA were achieved by applying ultrasonic waves after feeding the polymer into a plasticizing chamber. Chemical and physical characteristics of processed PLA varied depending on the processing window (i.e. changes in ultrasonic wave amplitude between 14.2 and 48.1 μm and molding pressure between 0.5 in 6 bars). In terms of chemical effects, the application of ultrasound can lead to lower molecular weights (e.g. decreases of more than 45% in the weight average molecular weight), revealing partial degradation of the material. Also, the processed materials exhibited slightly higher thermal degradability than pure PLA because ultrasonic vibrations break molecular linkages and worsen the polymer structure. Finally, the processing conditions for the preparation of PLA specimens could be optimized without causing degradation and preserving structural characteristics and mechanical properties. Specifically, the use of an amplitude of 48.1 μm and a pressure of 3 bars gave samples with the same molecular weight as the raw material (i.e. 117,500 g/mol as opposed to 117,300 g/mol for Mw).  相似文献

Cavitation holds the promise of a new and exciting approach to fabricate both top down and bottom up nanostructures. Cavitation bubbles are created when a liquid boils under less than atmospheric pressure. The collapse process occurs supersonically and generates a host of physical and chemical effects. We have made an attempt to fabricate natural cellulose material using hydrodynamic as well as acoustic cavitation. The cellulose material having initial size of 63 micron was used for the experiments. 1% (w/v) slurry of cellulose sample was circulated through the hydrodynamic cavitation device or devices (orifice) for 6 h. The average velocity of the fluid through the device was 10.81 m/s while average pressure applied was 7.8 kg/cm2. Cavitation number was found to be 2.61. The average particle size obtained after treatment was 1.36 micron. This hydrodynamically processed sample was sonicated for 1 h 50 min. The average size of ultrasonically processed particles was found to be 301 nm. Further, the cellulose particles were characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) to see the effect of cavitation on crystallinity (Xc) as well as on melting temperature (Tm). Cellulose structures consist of amorphous as well as crystalline regions. The initial raw sample was 86.56% crystalline but due to the effect of cavitation, the crystallinity reduced to 37.76%. Also the melting temperature (Tm) was found to be reduced from 101.78 °C of the original to 60.13 °C of the processed sample. SEM images for the cellulose (processed and unprocessed) shows the status and fiber–fiber alignment and its orientation with each other. Finally cavitation has proved to be very efficient tool for reduction in size from millimeter to nano scale for highly crystalline materials.  相似文献

The objective of this work was to develop a new process for pomegranate peels application in food industries based on ultrasound-assisted extraction of carotenoids using different vegetable oils as solvents. In this way, an oil enriched with antioxidants is produced. Sunflower oil and soy oil were used as alternative solvents and the effects of various parameters on extraction yield were studied. Extraction temperature, solid/oil ratio, amplitude level, and extraction time were the factors investigated with respect to extraction yield. Comparative studies between ultrasound-assisted and conventional solvent extraction were carried out in terms of processing procedure and total carotenoids content. The efficient extraction period for achieving maximum yield of pomegranate peel carotenoids was about 30 min. The optimum operating conditions were found to be: extraction temperature, 51.5 °C; peels/solvent ratio, 0.10; amplitude level, 58.8%; solvent, sunflower oil. A second-order kinetic model was successfully developed for describing the mechanism of ultrasound extraction under different processing parameters.  相似文献

The inertial cavitation activity depends on the sonication parameters. The purpose of this work is development of dual frequency inertial cavitation meter for therapeutic applications of ultrasound waves. In this study, the chemical effects of sonication parameters in dual frequency sonication (40 kHz and 1 MHz) were investigated in the progressive wave mode using iodide dosimetry. For this purpose, efficacy of different exposure parameters such as intensity, sonication duration, sonication mode, duty factor and net ultrasound energy on the inertial cavitation activity have been studied. To quantify cavitational effects, the KI dosimeter solution was sonicated and its absorbance at a wavelength of 350 nm was measured. The absorbance values in continuous sonication mode was significantly higher than the absorbance corresponding to the pulsed mode having duty factors of 20–80% (p < 0.05). Among different combination modes (1 MHz100% + 40 kHz100%, 1 MHz100% + 40 kHz80%, 1 MHz80% + 40 kHz100%, 1 MHz80% + 40 kHz80%), the continuous mode for dual frequency sonication is more effective than other combinations (p < 0.05). The absorbance for this combined dual frequency mode was about 1.8 times higher than that obtained from the algebraic summation of single frequency sonications. It is believed that the optimization of dual frequency sonication parameters at low-level intensity (<3 W/cm2) by optically assisted cavitation event sensor can be useful for ultrasonic treatments.  相似文献
