We experimentally study second-harmonic generation by femtosecond Cr: forsterite-laser radiation scattered on the surface of porous gallium phosphide with characteristic pore sizes and distances between the pores comparable with the second-harmonic wavelength. The intensity of the second-harmonic signal from samples with initial crystallographic surface orientations (110) and (111) is more than an order of magnitude higher than the intensity of the second harmonic generated in reflection from single-crystal gallium phosphide. The efficiency of second-harmonic generation by macroporous gallium phosphide substantially increases as the pump wave-length becomes shorter. The influence of light localization and scattering effects on the enhancement of second-harmonic generation and polarization properties of the second-harmonic is discussed.  相似文献

Special phase matching of second-harmonic generation (SHG) by use of the photonic effect was experimentally confirmed for an obliquely propagating fundamental beam in the helical smectic C>(*) liquid-crystal phase, as suggested by Belyakov [JETP Lett. 70, 811 (1999)]. The enhancement of SHG occurs when the second-harmonic wave is close to a photonic bandgap (half-pitch band) and consequently the fundamental wave is close to another photonic bandgap (full-pitch band). The enhanced signal was observed from both the transmitted and the reflected directions and was compared with our recently developed simulation.  相似文献

提出了一种基于双平行马赫 增德尔调制器的全双工矢量信号传输系统。传统的光学倍频技术只适用于NRZ (not return to zero) 等强度调制格式,而不适用于无线通信中常用的MPSK、MQAM等矢量信号调制技术,用传统的倍频技术生成光毫米波后,用滤波器将其2个边带分开,在其中一个边带上调制矢量信号,这样幅度和相位信息被正确保留,且使用了8倍频模块,降低了传输过程中对光电器件的带宽要求。理论分析和仿真结果表明:通过此方法产生的携带在60 GHz载波上的625 Msymbol/s的4QPSK信号,经过20 km单模光纤传输后,误差向量幅度损耗可以忽略不计。  相似文献

在基频与二倍频兰姆波相速度匹配但群速度失配的条件下, 通过选择适当的兰姆波二次谐波时域信号的测量起止时间, 可完全扣除换能器对二次谐波积分振幅测量所带来的影响。本文提出采用兰姆波二次谐波的积分振幅作为评价参量, 以实现对板材表面性质的准确评价。当板材表面性质发生改变时, 原本在理想表面条件下成立的基频与二倍频兰姆波相速度匹配的条件不再严格满足, 这将显著地影响到兰姆波的二次谐波发生效率, 相应的二次谐波积分振幅随表面性质的改变也将发生非常敏感的单调变化。实验结果表明,利用扣除换能器影响之后所测得的兰姆波二次谐波的积分振幅,可对板材表面性质的变化情况进行准确评价。  相似文献

A one-dimensional defective photonic crystal structure is proposed with the aim of studying its nonlinear optical properties. In such a structure, extremely enhanced second-harmonic generation with an efficiency ~5 orders of magnitude higher than that of ordinary films is demonstrated in a numerical simulation. Extraordinary phase conditions of the process in such a structure were explored, and efficient forward and backward second-harmonic generation could be achieved simultaneously. The mechanism of the enhancement is the high field intensity and efficient wave coupling introduced by light localization in defect states, from which many other nonlinear processes can also benefit.  相似文献

Second-harmonic radiation is generated at a gold surface by use of a laser pulse that is varied in duration from 14 to 29 fs and in intensity from 10(9) to 10(11)W/cm(2) . At laser intensities below 10(10)W/cm(2) , the second-harmonic signal has the expected quadratic dependence on pump-laser intensity; however, at higher intensities, the dependence is supraquadratic. This difference arises because the leading edge of the laser pulse interacts significantly with the gold electrons to create a nonequilibrium, photoexcited distribution. The second-harmonic generation process occurs before electron-electron or electron-phonon collisions can equilibrate the distribution and therefore serves as a probe of the nonequilibrium distribution.  相似文献

The coupled-wave equations describing optical parametric amplification (OPA) are usually solved in the slowly varying amplitude (SVA) approximation regime, in which the second-order derivatives of the signal and idler amplitudes are ignored and in fact the electromagnetic effects due to exit face of the medium is not involved. Here, an analytical plane-wave solution of these coupled-wave equations in a non-absorbing medium is presented. The solutions are derived beyond the SVA approximation up to order of κ/k (coupling constant over the wave number). The intensity distributions of the signal and the idler waves show a periodic behavior about their corresponding distributions of SVA-adapted solution. This behavior can be explained by the interference of the forward propagating signal (idler) wave and the corresponding backward one resulted from the reflection by the end face of the medium. Furthermore, this interference pattern in the medium can in turn serve as a periodic source for the next generations of the signal and idler waves. Therefore, the superposition of the waves, generated from different points of this periodic source, at the exit face of the medium shows an oscillatory behavior of the transmitted signal (idler) wave in terms of normalized coupling constant, κL. This study also shows that this effect is more considerable for high intensity pump beam, high relative refractive index and short length of the nonlinear medium.   相似文献

A three-dimensional reflectance scanning optical microscope based on the nonlinear optical phenomenon of second-harmonic generation is presented. A mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser producing <90-fs pulses at ~790nm was used, and the images were constructed by scanning of an object, which possessed local second-order nonlinearity, relative to a focused spot from the laser. The second-harmonic light at ~395nm generated by the specimen was separated from the fundamental beam by use of dichroic and interference filters and was detected by a photodiode. The technique was then used to characterize the distribution of second-order nonlinearity and microstructure of the nonlinear material lithium triborate.  相似文献

为了提高光信息处理元件的性能,实现高效率光信号的静止与存储,本文建立了由双向耦合场耦合的冷铷(87Rb)原子的四能级双Λ型能级机制,并对此机制在生成静态光信号时要求的高效性、持续时间,控制耦合场所需的操作条件以及对信号场强度的相位调制等进行了研究。首先,选取四能级双Λ型87Rb冷原子精细能级,用一对反向传播的行波激光场对能级进行近共振耦合,并沿耦合场方向输入一个正向弱光信号进行探测。接着,通过适当的绝热开启、关闭耦合场,存储光信号和生成高保真度静态光信号。然后,通过选取87Rb原子的不同精细能级结构,得出实现静态光所需满足的必要条件。最后,采用相位调制法对光信号进行处理。结果表明:生成的静态光信号具有高效性,过程持续时间约为80μs;相位调制法可以周期调节静态光脉冲的强度。在此机制下生成的静态光信号满足高效性、易于全光调节和长时效性等要求。  相似文献

The author investigated second-harmonic (SH) wave patterns generated by focused vortex beams with radial and azimuthal polarizations. Expressions for electric field components near the focus through a dielectric interface were obtained based on vector diffraction theory. Furthermore, the (110) and (001) planes of a crystal classified in the symmetry group 4?3m were considered as second order nonlinear optical medium to analyze nonlinear polarization and the intensity distributions of the SH wave in the far-field were simulated for topological charge m = 1 and 2. Numerical simulations indicated that the intensity and emission pattern of the SH wave depended principally on the electric field component and distribution near the focus. In particular, for the (001) plane, the intensity of the SH wave was strongly correlated with the existence of a longitudinal electric field.  相似文献

Multiple-wavelength optical fields on a detecting plane of an interferometer are generated from the interference signals detected for an object surface. The generated optical fields are backpropagated along the optical axis. An optical field along the optical axis is reconstructed by summing the backpropagated fields over the multiple wavelengths. The intensity and phase distributions of the reconstructed optical field provide the position of the object surface with an accuracy of a few nanometers.  相似文献

Efficient generation of the second optical harmonic is observed experimentally in a multilayer periodic structure based on porous silicon. The second-harmonic signal is much stronger than the signal from a uniform porous silicon layer or from the single-crystal silicon substrate. The orientational dependence of the second-harmonic signal is isotropic. The second-harmonic intensity as a function of the reflection angle reaches a maximum in the direction corresponding to the minimum phase detuning in a multilayer periodic structure. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. 考虑到发射和接收换能器对超声兰姆波时域二次谐波信号所带来的不可避免的影响,提出一种基于基频与二倍频兰姆波群速度失配的超声兰姆波二次谐波的时域测量方法。当基频与二倍频超声兰姆波的相速度匹配而群速度失配时,在超声兰姆波传播过程中所发生的二次谐波信号,在时域上可与源于斜劈换能器的二次谐波信号相分离。采用仅源自于基频兰姆波的时域二次谐波的积分振幅,定量描述兰姆波二次谐波的发生效率。以铝板中传播的兰姆波为例,给出了时域二次谐波的具体测量过程。本文提出的测量方法放宽了超声兰姆波二次谐波的测量条件,且扣除了换能器对二次谐波信号所带来的影响,所测得的二次谐波信号完全来自于基频兰姆波时域信号的二次谐波发生效应。   相似文献

干涉条纹的相位变化与干涉条纹中某一固定点的光强密切相关,基于这一原理,通过对干涉场光强分析,提出并设计了一种用于干涉条纹相位锁定的控制系统.光电探测器检测干涉条纹中固定目标点的光强,并以该光强电压作为反馈控制信号,利用声光调制器对干涉系统中两束高斯光束中的一束进行实时频率调制,将光强电压控制在一个固定值,实现干涉条纹的相位锁定.构建了条纹锁定控制系统控制对象的理论模型,通过实验进行了验证,并基于该模型的特点设计了条纹锁定控制器.实验结果表明:在400Hz的控制频率下,干涉条纹相位漂移不超过±0.04个条纹周期,满足干涉光刻的曝光需求.  相似文献

An optical second-harmonic wave can be generated in a three-layered optical waveguide of arbitrary film thickness under phase-matching condition. Phase-matching is achieved by utilizing mode dispersion in an optical waveguide with a two-dimensional configuration. A numerical analysis of the matching condition is given and the results of the observation of the optical second-harmonic wave of a guided Nd : YAG laser in a Ti-indiffused LiNbO3 nonlinear film are described.  相似文献

Single-shot full-field optical coherence tomography (OCT) using spatially phase-modulated reference light has been proposed to achieve a higher sensitivity.16) The reference light can be generated by a spatially phase-modulated mirror array (SPMA). The basic characteristics of an interference image using SPMA have been demonstrated using a superluminescent diode (SLD) with a center wavelength of 840 nm as a popular low-coherence light source. SPMA consisted of a small mirror of 10 × 10 mm2 and had a full area of 5 × 5mm2. The magnifications in the reference arm were 3, 2, and 1. The corresponding magnifications in the signal arm were 18.1, 12.2, and 5.2. The ratios of the interference area to the full CCD area were 0.68, 0.32, and 0.13. Visibilities and ratios for calculations were measured at 0.38 (54%), 0.19 (28%), and 0.062 (8.2%). The periodical background noise was high owing to interferences with scattered lights from SPMA. From the spectra of signal intensity profiles in the subtracted image between two interference images, it was confirmed that the optical phase in the reference light was spatially and periodically modulated by SPMA.  相似文献

I propose a method for enhancing the cascaded phase shift of the fundamental wave associated with second-harmonic generation in aperiodic quasi-phase matched (QPM) gratings. The position and length of one of the domains were varied to maximize the cascaded phase shift. A maximum enhancement of 84% in the cascaded phase shift relative to a perfectly periodic QPM grating was obtained at a moderate fundamental input intensity without initial seeding of the second-harmonic wave. All-optical intensity modulation is also proposed with another optimized aperiodic QPM grating.  相似文献

Enhanced noncollinear second harmonic generation in a finite one-dimensional photonic crystal is analyzed theoretically under conditions of pump field localization near the Bragg reflection. It is shown numerically that phase-matched second-harmonic generation can be implemented in a finite one-dimensional photonic crystal that does not satisfy the conventional phase-matching conditions calculated for effective Bloch modes with narrow spectral lines. The intensity of the generated second-harmonic signal exceeds the second-harmonic intensity attained under the conventional phase-matching conditions by more than an order of magnitude. This phenomenon is explained by interference between Bloch modes having similar amplitudes, wavenumbers, and spectral widths. Since the spatial spectra of waves propagating in a bounded medium have finite widths, the broadened spectral lines of proximate effective Bloch modes resulting from Bragg diffraction of waves tuned to the first transmission resonances near the photonic bandgap edge overlap, merging into a spectral profile with center shifted relative to the original effective Bloch wavevectors. This effect leads to modified phase matching conditions for second harmonic generation in a finite photonic crystal, which are written for the centers of the spectral profiles resulting from modal overlap, rather than for individual effective wavevectors. Substantially different phase matching conditions are obtained for weakly and strongly diffracted beams, whereas conventional phase matching conditions hold only for transmitted signals in the case of weak diffraction.  相似文献

提出一种新的虚拟光学加密方法,该方法分3个步骤将两幅图像隐藏于3个随机相位板中。将两幅图像分别作为相位和幅度信息隐藏于一个复数场中,利用随机相位板作为参考光,并采用数字全息术将该复数场转换成平稳随机白噪声,利用干涉加密原理进一步将此白噪声储存于2个随机相位板中,从而将两幅图像信息隐藏于3个纯随机相位板中。该方法原理简单,无需进行迭代操作。计算机模拟结果显示:任何一个密钥错误,均无法得到原始图像的任何信息。同时,解密过程对系统中距离及波长等参数非常敏感,较大地提升了系统的安全性。  相似文献
