We report the detailed results of magnetization and magnetoresistance measurements in the Ru doped layered manganite system La1.2Sr1.8Mn2−xRuxO7 (x=0, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0). High-resolution measurements of magnetization and magnetoresistance were carried out as functions of temperature, magnetic field and time. We find evidence for the existence of competing ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions resulting in the formation of a frustrated spin-glass-like state at low temperatures. The time dependent magnetization follows the relation very well. We find that Ru doping enhances the coercive field and drives the system towards a magnetically mixed phase at low temperatures. Large negative magnetoresistance values are observed in all samples and at low temperatures the magnetoresistance varies as the square root of the applied magnetic field.  相似文献

The magnetic field dependence of the in-plane penetration depth λ|(H) for single crystal κ-(ET)2Cu[N(CN)2]Br has been measured at 3, 9.6, and 36 MHz. Over a limited range, λ| scales with a characteristic field that coincides with a shoulder in the λ| vs. H curves. Above that field, λ| increases sharply toward a second inflection point at that coincides with is close to the irreversibility line measured by magnetization. For fields larger than the penetration depth diverges, suggesting that the vortex lattice has melted. The field dependence at one frequency agrees qualitatively with a model of pinned vortices at low fields giving way to flux flow at higher fields. However, the observed frequency dependence deviates significantly from the predictions of this model, suggesting that collective effects play a major role. Our technique also yields a new measurement for the interplane penetration depth λ ∼ 300 μm, implying an anisotropy .  相似文献

A systematic investigation of crystallographic and intrinsic magnetic properties of the hydrides R3Fe29−xVxHy (R=Y, Ce, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, and Dy) has been performed in this work. The lattice constants , and c and the unit cell volume of R3Fe29−xVxHy decrease with increasing rare-earth atomic number from Nd to Dy, except for Ce, reflecting the lanthanide contraction. Hydrogenation results in regular anisotropic expansions along the a-, b-, and c-axes in this series of hydrides. Abnormal crystallographic and magnetic properties of Ce3Fe27.5V1.5H6.5, like Ce3Fe27.5V1.5, suggest that the Ce ion is non-triply ionized. Hydrogenation leads to the increase in both Curie temperature for all the compounds and in the saturation magnetization at 4.2 K and RT for R3Fe29−xVx with R=Y, Ce, Nd, Sm, Gd, and Dy, except for Tb. Hydrogenation also leads to a decrease in the anisotropy field at 4.2 K and RT for R3Fe29−xVx with R=Y, Ce, Nd, Gd, Tb, and Dy, except for Sm. The Ce3Fe27.5V1.5 and Gd3Fe28.4V0.6 show the larger storage of hydrogen with y=6.5 and 6.9 in these hydrides.  相似文献

We observed the giant magnetoimpedance and colossal ac magnetoresistance for a Cu coil wound on La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 under low dc magnetic fields. Even though the dc magnetoresistance for La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 plate is only −2.4% under H=12 kOe, a Cu coil wound on La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 plate exhibits a colossal ac magnetoresistance of −93% at 10 MHz and a giant magnetoimpedance of −59% in a wide frequency range of 500 kHz-10 MHz under a longitudinal field . The transverse magnetoimpedance is weaker than the longitudinal one. The giant magnetoimpedance and colossal ac magnetoresistance for a Cu coil wound on La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 are connected with the variation of permeability induced by dc magnetic field.  相似文献

Effects of doping Na on the structure, electrical and magnetic properties of La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 are investigated. A structural phase transition from orthorhombic to rhombohedral structure takes place at y=0.375. All samples show metal-insulator (M-I) transition at the transition temperature and undergo the transition from paramagnetism to ferromagnetism at the Curie temperature TC. and TC increase monotonically with increasing Na content. However the Na-doped samples have a shoulder in their electrical transport curves found below and shows a widened magnetic transition process. On the other hand, intrinsic colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) peaks are observed in all the samples, but samples with y around 0.25 show two MR peaks which can be attributed to magnetic inhomogeneity induced by the doped Na+ ions. Here we propose a method to broaden the CMR peak of perovskite manganite, which is beneficial for practical applications.  相似文献

We report the ac electrical response of La0.7Sr0.3Mn1−xFexO3(x=0.05) as a function of temperature, magnetic field (H) and frequency of radio frequency (rf) current (). The ac impedance (Z) was measured while rf current directly passes through the sample as well as in a coil surrounding the sample. It is found that with increasing frequency of the rf current, Z(T) shows an abrupt increase accompanied by a peak at the ferromagnetic Curie temperature. The peak decreases in magnitude and shifts down with increasing value of H. We find a magnetoimpedance of for at around room temperature when the rf current flows directly through the sample and when the rf current flows through a coil surrounding the sample. It is suggested that the magnetoimpedance observed is a consequence of suppression of transverse permeability which enhances skin depth for current flow. Our results indicate that the magnetic field control of high frequency impedance of manganites is more useful than direct current magnetoresistance for low-field applications.  相似文献

We use a non-perturbative approach which combines coupled channel Lippmann-Schwinger equations with meson-meson potentials provided by the lowest order chiral Lagrangian. By means of one parameter, a cut off in the momentum of the loop integrals, which results of the order of 1 GeV, we obtain singularities in the S-wave amplitudes corresponding to the σ, f0 and a0 resonances. The ππππ, phase shifts and inelasticities in the T = 0 scalar channel are well reproduced as well as the π0η and mass distributions in the T = 1 channel. Furthermore, the total and partial strong decay widths of the f0 and a0 resonances are properly reproduced. The results seem to indicate that chiral symmetry constraints at low energy and unitarity in coupled channels is the basic information contained in the meson-meson interaction below GeV.  相似文献

Colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) manganites with compositional formula, La0.67Ca0.33−xSrxMnO3 (where x=0, 0.09, 0.11, 0.13, 0.33) were prepared by citrate gel route mainly to understand the elastic behaviour in the vicinity of their magnetic transition temperature TC. The structural characterizations of all the materials clearly indicate that samples upto x=0.13 doping, are having orthorhombic structure with Pbnm space group and sample with x=0.33 is having rhombohedral structure with space group. The magnetic transition temperatures (TC) are determined by AC susceptibility measurements and are found to increase continuously with increasing strontium concentration. Finally, a systematic investigation of the ultrasonic longitudinal velocities of all the samples was carried out. Further, all the samples are found to exhibit anomalous behaviour in the vicinity of their magnetic transition temperatures and the observed behaviour is explained using Landau's theory.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for Compton scattering by the proton have been measured in the energy interval between 200 and 500 MeV at scattering angles of θcms = 75° and θcms = 90° using the CATS, the CATS/TRAJAN, and the COPP setups with the Glasgow Tagger at MAMI (Mainz). The data are compared with predictions from dispersion theory using photo-meson amplitudes from the recent VPI solution SM95. The experiment and the theoretical procedure are described in detail. It is found that the experiment and predictions are in agreement as far as the energy dependence of the differential cross sections in the Δ-range is concerned. However, there is evidence that a scaling down of the resonance part of the photo-meson amplitude by (2.8 ± 0.9)% is required in comparison with the VPI analysis.
