Conversations must be shielded from people in an adjacent room if they include confidential information. Word intelligibility tests were performed in a total of 185 sound fields to examine the relationship between sound insulation performance and the degree of conversation leakage. The parameters of the test sound fields were background noise level in the adjacent room and the level difference between the two rooms. The background noise level was varied from 30 to 50 dB (A-weighted). The level difference was parametrically varied in terms of eight frequency characteristics and 10 absolute values. The results showed that word intelligibility scores were strongly correlated with the A-weighted speech-to-noise ratio and SNRuni32. Equal-intelligibility contours, which can easily show the weighted level difference and A-weighted background noise level required to achieve a certain level of word intelligibility scores, were obtained from a multiple logistic regression analysis.  相似文献

High sound insulation ventilating windows (HSIVW) were recently proposed for noise control in buildings close to motorways or railways, where noise barriers are not effective or too expensive. These windows are characterized by good insulation performances and at the same time allow airflow through the window itself; such a performance matches summer indoor ventilation and refreshment needs.In the last years at the Acoustics Laboratory of the University of Perugia various prototypes were tested and their acoustic and airflow performances were assessed, also verifying the influence of filtering systems in the aerator.In the present paper a lot of experimental data are presented and in particular the results of a recent campaign, aimed at testing windows samples integrated with insulated rolling shutter boxes are presented. Sound reduction index R and single number sound reduction index Rw are evaluated, considering different exercise conditions; acoustic intensity measurements and analysis have also been performed, in order to verify the parts of the window which need to be optimized.  相似文献

Windows are the weakest part of a façade in terms of acoustic performance: the weighted sound insulation index (Rw), measured according to ISO 140-3, is the fundamental parameter to evaluate the façade acoustic insulation.The paper aims at developing an artificial neural network (ANN) model to estimate the Rw value of wooden windows based on a limited number of windows parameters; this is a new approach because acoustic phenomena are non-linear and affected by a plurality of factors and, therefore, usually investigated through experimentation.Data set is taken from experimental campaigns carried out at the Laboratory of Acoustics, University of Perugia. A multilayer feed-forward approach was chosen and the model was implemented in MATLAB. On the basis of the results obtained by means of a preliminary training and test campaign of several ANN architectures, five main parameters were selected as network inputs: window typology, frame and shutters thickness, number of gaskets, Rw of glazing; Rw value of the window is the network output. Different ANN configurations were trained and a root mean-square error less than 3% was obtained, comparable to measurement uncertainty.This approach allows to develop a model which, with input parameters varying within appropriate ranges, can easily estimate the acoustic performance of wooden windows without experimental campaign on prototypes, saving both money and time. If the training data set is large enough, the presented approach could be very useful for design and optimization of acoustic performance of new products.  相似文献

Vertical Greenery Systems (VGS) are promising contemporary Green Infrastructure which contribute to the provision of several ecosystem services both at building and urban scales. Among others, the building acoustic insulation and the urban noise reduction could be considered. Traditionally vegetation has been used to acoustically insulate urban areas, especially from the traffic noise. Now, with the introduction of vegetation in buildings, through the VGS, it is necessary to provide experimental data on its operation as acoustic insulation tool in the built environment. In this study the acoustic insulation capacity of two VGS was conducted through in situ measurements according to the UNE-EN ISO 140-5 standard. From the results, it was observed that a thin layer of vegetation (20–30 cm) was able to provide an increase in the sound insulation of 1 dB for traffic noise (in both cases, Green Wall and Green Facade), and an insulation increase between 2 dB (Green Wall) and 3 dB (Green Facade) for a pink noise. In addition to the vegetation contribution to sound insulation, the influence of other factors such as the mass factor (thickness, density and composition of the substrate layer) and type of modular unit of cultivation, the impenetrability (sealing joints between modules) and structural insulation (support structure) must be taken into account for further studies.  相似文献

In order to reduce the negative effect on the environment, environmentally friendly materials are being chosen for the construction of buildings more and more frequently. The building materials that are now used more commonly are clay, straw and reeds. The sound insulation properties of these environmentally friendly materials have not yet been examined thoroughly. This paper presents most commonly used sound reduction indexes RW that have been measured in the semi-anechoic chamber and determined during the simulation. It has been found that adobe, pressed straw and reeds (oriented parallel to the sound transmission) are suitable for low-frequency sound insulation. The material with the best sound reduction index was adobe. The sound reduction index RW of a 200 mm thick adobe wall reached up to 43 dB.  相似文献

It has long been recognized that single-number quantities Rw, DnT,w or Dn,w result in different conclusions in objective rating of airborne sound insulation between dwellings. The difference between the values of these single-number quantities (SNQ), however, does not prove which of them describes the sound transmission between rooms most correctly. The main object of this article was to study which SNQ correspond best with transmitted living sound levels in buildings when reverberation time, volume of receiving room and sound insulation are taken into account. Data of 100 field measurements of airborne sound insulation were collected as well as 207 reverberation times of furnished rooms. The transmitted sound levels of living sounds were evaluated on the basis of known living sound spectra and measured level differences D. The results show that the SNQs standardized to reference reverberation time of 0.5 s lead in all cases to best correlation between the SNQs and the sound levels of transmitted living sounds. It was also checked whether the rating by DnT,w would lead to higher transmitted sound levels of living sounds in larger rooms, but this was not detected. The use of DnT,w makes rooms of different volumes equal in regard to required sound insulation between them. It is thus justified to replace Rw with DnT,w as the SNQ for rating the airborne sound insulation. Widening the frequency range down to 50 Hz or up to 5000 Hz did not give noteworthy improvement in the correlation.  相似文献

Experimental studies for the development of multiple drywalls with a high sound insulation performance are performed. Firstly, a means of preventing the sound insulation deterioration due to the coincidence effect at high frequencies is investigated by layering two plasterboards with different physical characteristics. Based on the results, a double drywall with a sound insulation performance of Rw = 61 is developed. Further more, a double drywall of Rw = 64 , a triple drywall of Rw = 86 and a quadruple drywall of Rw = 90 are developed.  相似文献

The vibration reduction index, Kij, is related to the transmission of the vibrational power over a junction between structural elements. Two empirical models are proposed to evaluate Kij, on the basis of statistical evaluations of numerous in-field tests carried out on rigid junctions between floors made by concrete beams and ribbed slab with brick blocks and brickwork walls, a type of junction that is frequently encountered in Southern European and Mediterranean buildings. These models can be applied in order to calculate the sound insulation properties, such as the normalized impact sound pressure level, , and the apparent sound reduction index, R′, of walls and floors in buildings.The first model allows the single number value of the vibration sound reduction index of a junction to be calculated, on the basis of the real properties of the materials that constitute the junction. A new quantity, the “essential” mass per unit area, was introduced to implement the model.The second model provides an estimation of the Kij as a function of frequency, subdivided between BB-junction, as ribbed slab with brick blocks floor-brick wall, and CB-junction, i.e. concrete beam-brick wall.  相似文献

It is shown how to estimate the long-term average sound level, LAeqLT (for free flowing road traffic) from measurements of the hourly A-weighted equivalent sound level, LAeq1h. To estimate the parameters of the model which describe noise emission and attenuation, concurrent measurements of LAeq1h at two distances from the considered road are needed. A semi-empirical formula is derived for LAeqLT approximation. Also the uncertainty of this approximation is given as a function the distance from the road and receiver height.  相似文献

In the context of the transmission of airborne noise into an aircraft fuselage, a mathematical model for sound transmission into a thin cylindrical shell is used to study sound transmission under “flight conditions”: i.e., under conditions of external air flow past a pressurized cylinder at flight altitude. Numerical results for different incidence angles are presented for a typical narrow-bodied jet in cruising flight at 10 660 m (35 000 ft) with interior pressure at 2440 m (8000 ft). A comparison is made between no-flow sound transmission at standard conditions on the ground to sound transmission under flight conditions. It is shown that at M = 0, the cylinder transmission loss has dips at fR (cylinder ring frequency) and fc (critical frequency for a flat panel of same material and thickness as shell). Below fR cylinder resonances affect TL. Between fR and fc, cylinder TL follows a masslaw behavior. Flow provides a modest increase in TL in the mass-law region, and strongly interacts with the cylinder resonances below fR. For normally-incident waves, TL is unaffected by flow.  相似文献

Recently, for the purpose of reducing residential environmental noise, many sound insulation systems have often been improved acoustically by changing their geometrical scales and/or acoustical characteristics. In this paper, new functional evaluation and probabilistic prediction methods for these improvements are theoretically and experimentally proposed in practical expression forms by introducing a few functional parameters. These functional parameters introduced only for the prediction are supported by many physical structural factors closely related to the well-known statistical energy analysis method, and are easily estimated in a preliminary experiment. The estimation procedures developed are based on two error criteria using the actual overall frequency band data. The used least-squares error criterion is the most fundamental method and the Lx evaluation criterion matches the actual situation of estimating the representative evaluation indices. Finally, by using musical sound as an input noise, the effectiveness of the proposed method is experimentally confirmed by applying it to some actual problems.  相似文献

The interaction between fluid loaded fiber-optic cantilevers and a low frequency acoustic wave is investigated as the basis for an acoustic vector sensor. The displacements of the prototype cantilevers are measured with an integrated fiber laser strain sensor. A theoretical model predicting the frequency dependent shape of acoustically driven planar and cylindrical fiber-optic cantilevers incorporating effects of fluid viscosity is presented. The model demonstrates good agreement with the measured response of two prototype cantilevers, characterized with a vibrating water column, in the regime of Re ≥ 1. The performance of each cantilever geometry is also analyzed. Factors affecting the sensor performance such as fluid viscosity, laser mode profile, and support motion are considered. The planar cantilever is shown to experience the largest acoustically induced force and hence the highest acoustic responsivity. However, the cylindrical cantilever exhibits the smoothest response in water, due to the influence of viscous fluid damping, and is capable of two axis particle velocity measurement. These cantilevers are shown to be capable of achieving acoustic resolutions approaching the lowest sea-state ocean noise.  相似文献

In this paper, the results of a study on the environmental noise pollution of the city of Messina (Italy) are presented. The investigation has included a preliminary classification of the territory in six acoustically homogeneous areas according to Italian noise regulations. On the basis of the resultant acoustic zoning 35 sites were selected for an experimental survey. This last has been carried out by extensive measurements of the main indexes for noise pollution (Leq, L1, L10, L50, L90, L99) and of the traffic flow and composition. Results indicate that: (a) main roads of Messina are overloaded by traffic flow during day-time period and that in all the examined sites daily average sound levels due to road traffic exceed environmental standards by about 10 dBA; (b) environmental noise exhibits a certain degree of spatial variance resulting primarily from the peculiar geo-morphological structure of the town and from the transport infrastructure and (c) more than 25% of residents should be highly disturbed by road traffic noise.  相似文献

The use of graphical indices is interpreted as an approximate approach to the estimation of sound insulation performance of building elements. Differences of weighted sound pressure levels are considered as quantitative measures for subjective sound insulation. The indices considered are formed by shifting a reference curve until the highest position is found at which certain specifications, or rules, are met. General expressions are mathematically derived for the maximum differences between graphical indices and sound insulation in two cases: a maximum allowable sum rule for unfavourable deviations, and a combination for restriction of the maximum single deviation. The results indicate that the maximum deviation rule limits the variation between sound insulation and indices in a very efficient way. This comparison leads to Ia being preferred to Rw, which are special cases of the study.  相似文献

Recent progress in the development of European standards has allowed the in situ testing of roadside noise barriers. CEN/TS 1793-5 describes a test method using maximum length sequences (MLS) for the characterisation of airborne sound insulation. However, many barriers are tested according to a laboratory standard, EN 1793-2, based on measurements carried out in reverberant chambers and in the case of timber barriers with a relatively low airborne sound insulation it is not clear to what extent the results of the two tests compare. The paper describes the results of tests carried out using both methods. Six samples of timber barrier were compared including single-leaf and double-leaf constructions and single-leaf constructions with an absorptive core. Very good agreement was found especially when account was taken of the valid frequency range in each test method. The results open up the possibility of routinely evaluating the performance of timber barriers at the roadside where build quality can be variable and there are concerns that the acoustic performance may not match that obtained under laboratory test conditions where typically the barrier is more carefully constructed.  相似文献

Tyre noise is generated by several mechanisms. With a modern tyre, wall vibration, air pumping and air resonant radiation are all considered to be important. But tyre noise generating mechanisms are still not clear due to the complication of tyre vibration behaviour. Vibrations of the tyre shell are the combination of several different wave types which appear at different frequencies. In a low frequency range, where the tyre behaves like an elastically supported beam, the circular ring model is used to analyze the dispersion relations. Above 300 Hz, which is the transition point from one-dimensional to two-dimensional waveguide properties of the passenger car tyre, a cylindrical shell model is used to analyze flexural waves propagation. Two important features on the wave propagation, wave-guide behaviour and the curvature effect of the tyre wall are analyzed. In consideration of noise radiation from tyre waves, most of the tyre waves observed in this study are inefficient sound radiators since their wavenumbers are larger than the acoustic wave number. As a result, It is observed that one of the most important features in sound radiation of a tyre shell is acoustically excited wave motion of the tyre wall.  相似文献

高效共振混合机工作频率为60 Hz,且系统处于共振,产生较大低频噪声。针对振动机械产生的有害噪声,分析了高效共振混合机低频高加速度共振混合过程的特点,得到了60 Hz低频声波穿透力强特点,相比传统的以吸声材料构建的50~100 mm厚度、隔声效果小于10 dB的隔声罩,分析了薄膜型声学超材料在低频减振降噪中的隔声特性。通过多物理场仿真分析,60 Hz时隔声量为31.4 dB,确定了硅橡胶弹性薄膜的预应力和质量块的面密度;采用3D打印机快速成型技术,构建了隔声实验装置,分析了独立隔声单元、面密度、薄膜尺寸等隔声特性规律。基于人耳在实际环境中感受到的噪声强度,提出了噪声衰减量和插入损失的分析方法,在距离声源380 mm和1000 mm的位置,60 Hz时隔声量分别为27 dB和38 dB。研究成果丰富了低频隔声特性理论,为薄膜型声学超材料的工程设计和优化提供了技术支撑。  相似文献

An analysis is made of the production of sound by a hydrofoil with a Coanda wall jet circulation control (CC-) device. Three principal sources are identified in the vicinity of the trailing edge of the hydrofoil. The radiation at very low frequencies is dominated by “curvature noise” generated by the interaction of boundary layer turbulence with the rounded trailing edge of the CC-hydrofoil; this is similar in character and magnitude to the low-frequency component of the conventional trailing edge noise produced by a hydrofoil of the same chord, but with a sharp trailing edge. Higher frequency sound is produced principally at the Coanda jet slot. “Passive slot noise” is caused by the “scattering” by the slot lip of nearfield pressure fluctuations in the turbulent boundary layer of the exterior mean flow past the slot. This is of comparable intensity to high frequency, sharp-edged trailing edge noise. However, the acoustic spectrum is greatly extended to much higher frequencies if the Coanda jet is turbulent; the sound produced by the interaction of this turbulence with the lip tends to dominate the spectrum at frequencies f (Hz) greater than about Uj/h, where h is the slot width and Ujthe Coanda jet speed. Sample numerical results are presented for a typical underwater application that indicate that at this and higher frequencies the slot noise can be 20 dB or more greater than conventional trailing edge noise, although the differences become smaller as the thickness of the slot lip increases.  相似文献

Aircraft noise measurements were recorded at the residential areas in the vicinity of Kadena Air Base, Okinawa in 1968 and 1972 at the time of the Vietnam war. The estimated equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure level LAeq for 24 h was 85 dB.The time history of sound level during 24 h was estimated from the measurement conducted in 1968, and the sound level was converted into the spectrum level at the centre frequency of the critical band of temporary threshold shift (TTS) using the results of spectrum analysis of aircraft noise operated at the airfield. With the information of spectrum level and its time history, TTS was calculated as a function of time and level change. The permanent threshold shift was also calculated by means of Robinson's method and ISO's method. The results indicate the noise exposure around Kadena Air Base was hazardous to hearing and is likely to have caused hearing loss to people living in its vicinity.  相似文献
