A new technique is described which allows Doppler-free, isotope-selective excitation of atoms by continuous wave laser radiation and continuous ionization of the atoms by an electric field. The atoms are excited to high Rydberg states in an electric-field-free region of a collimated atomic beam. Because the lifetimes of Rydberg atoms are long they can reach a spatially separated region of the atomic beam where they are ionized by a continuous electric field with a probability of unity. In the case of lithium we obtained a 103 times larger ion signal by field ionization of Rydberg atoms than by direct photoionization from low excited states.  相似文献

利用含时量子波包法理论研究了分子在强激光场条件下的量子调控.选取K2分子的三态模型(基态|X〉、激发态|B〉和电离态|X+〉)作为研究对象.在强激光场的作用下,激发态|B〉缀饰成两个子态:|α〉态和|β〉态.分析K2分子电离后的光电子能谱,可以得到缀饰态|α〉和|β〉的能量和概率分布信息.同时,根据分子的缀饰态理论,提出了K2分子的缀饰态选择性分布方案.研究表明:调节激光场的强度可以实现对缀饰态能量的调控,改变激光场的波长可以实现对缀饰态概率的选择性分布.  相似文献

This paper studies the quantum dynamics of electrons in a surface quantum well in the time domain with autocorrelation of wave packet. The evolution of the wave packet for different manifold eigenstates with finite and infinite lifetimes is investigated analytically. It is found that the quantum coherence and evolution of the surface electronic wave packet can be controlled by the laser central energy and electric field. The results show that the finite lifetime of excited states expedites the dephasing of the coherent electronic wave packet significantly. The correspondence between classical and quantum mechanics is shown explicitly in the system.  相似文献

A modification of field ion microscope, based on radical reduction of intensity of electric field essential for field-ionization of imaging gas atoms, is suggested. For this purpose the imaging gas atoms are excited by a laser radiation to quantum states nearby the ionization limit. As excited atoms approach the point the field ionization must occur in rather weak fields (~107 V/cm) which eliminate electric field induced effects of molecular evaporation and decomposition.  相似文献

Resonant electric dipole-dipole interactions between cold Rydberg atoms were observed using microwave spectroscopy. Laser-cooled 85Rb atoms in a magneto-optical trap were optically excited to 45d(5/2) Rydberg states using a pulsed laser. A microwave pulse transferred a fraction of these Rydberg atoms to the 46p(3/2) state. A second microwave pulse then drove atoms in the 45d(5/2) state to the 46d(5/2) state, and was used as a probe of interatomic interactions. The spectral width of this two-photon probe transition was found to depend on the presence of the 46p(3/2) atoms, and is due to the resonant electric dipole-dipole interaction between 45d(5/2) and 46p(3/2) Rydberg atoms.  相似文献

基于成熟的光纤激光器、光纤放大器及高效激光频率转换技术,我们在实验中研制了一套瓦级输出的窄线宽连续波单频可调谐318.6 nm紫外激光系统,并在室温铯原子气室中实现了6S_(1/2)—nP_(3/2)(n=70—94)单光子跃迁里德伯激发.借助由铯原子6S_(1/2)(F=4)基态、6P_(3/2)(F′=5)激发态和nP_(3/2)(n=70—94)里德伯态构成的V型三能级系统,通过频率锁定于铯原子6S_(1/2)(F=4)—6P_(3/2)(F′=5)超精细跃迁的852.3 nm探测光束的吸收减弱信号获得了里德伯态的信息,并利用高精度波长计测量了铯原子nP_(3/2)(n=70—94)里德伯态的量子亏损值.经过与理论计算值的变化趋势进行对比,我们认为由于原子气室的里德伯屏蔽效应并不能完全屏蔽外部直流电场,铯原子气室内存在残余的直流电场,影响了对里德伯态的量子亏损值的实验测量.利用残余直流电场的Stark效应理论模型及其与有效主量子数n*的依赖关系,对铯原子里德伯态的量子亏损实验测量值进行了修正.修正后的铯原子nP_(3/2)(n=70—94)态量子亏损测量值为3.5591±0.0007,与理论计算值相吻合.  相似文献

Response of the wave packet of a one-dimensional Coulomb atom to an intense laser field is calculated using the symmetrized split operator fast Fourier method. The high-order harmonic generation (HHG) of the initial state separately being the ground and excited states is presented. When the hardness parameter \alpha in the soft Coulomb potential V(x)=-1/\sqrt{x^2+\alpha} is chosen to be small enough, the so-called hard Coulomb potential V(x)=-1/|x| can be obtained. It is well known that the hard one-dimensional Coulomb atom has an unstable ground state with an energy eigenvalue of $\sim0.5$ and it has no states corresponding to physical states in the true atoms, and has the first and second excited states being degenerate. The parity effects on the HHG can be seen from the first and second excited states of the hard one-dimensional Coulomb atom. The HHG spectra of the excited states from both the soft and hard Coulomb atom models are shown to have more complex structures and to be much stronger than the corresponding HHG spectrum of the ground state of the soft Coulomb model with $\alpha=2$ in the same laser field. Laser-induced non-resonant one-photon emission is also observed.  相似文献

利用含时微扰论和闭合轨道理论相结合的方法, 给出了氢负离子在梯度电场中自关联函数的计算公式, 并且对体系的自关联函数进行了计算和分析. 重点探讨了激光脉冲的宽度、梯度电场中背景电场强度及电场梯度对氢负离子体系的自关联函数的影响. 研究结果表明, 当激光脉冲的脉冲宽度较短, 远小于剥离电子的闭合轨道的周期时, 量子波包的回归现象显著, 自关联函数中会出现一系列比较明显的回归峰, 这是由于沿闭合轨道返回的电子波包和出射的电子波包之间产生干涉形成的. 但是随着激光脉冲宽度的增加, 量子波包的回归现象减弱. 当脉冲宽度和闭合轨道的周期相差不是很大时, 自关联函数中的回归峰逐渐变宽, 振荡渐趋平缓, 相邻的峰之间发生相互干涉, 从而导致对应关系消失. 除此之外, 我们还发现梯度电场中背景电场强度和电场梯度对体系的自关联函数也会发生显著的影响. 随着背景电场强度和电场梯度的增加, 剥离电子的闭合轨道的周期变短, 自关联函数中回归峰的个数逐渐增加, 量子回归现象增强. 因此, 我们可以通过改变脉冲的宽度、外加电场强度的大小对氢负离子发生光剥离的自关联函数进行调控. 我们的结果对于实验研究原子或离子体系在外场中的波包动力学性质可以提供一定的参考价值.  相似文献

The Ryderberg electronic wave packet dynamics of hydrogen atom near helium surface in an electric field is investigated using the semiclassical method.The autocorrelation function is calculated when the photoionized electron is excited by a short laser pulse for different atom-surface separations.The results show that new recurrences appear because of the helium surface,and the number of recurrent peaks increases with the decrease in atom-surface distance.The new feature is ascribed to the bifurcation of new closed orbits in the classical dynamics of the photoionized electron.Therefore,surface properties have a significant effect on the spectrum of nearby atoms or ions.  相似文献

Electron localization in the dissociation of the symmetric linear molecular ion H_3~(2+) is investigated. The numerical simulation shows that the electron localization distribution is dependent on the central frequency and peak electric field amplitude of the external ultrashort ultraviolet laser pulse. When the electrons of the ground state are excited onto the 2pσ~2Σ_u~+ by a one-photon process, most electrons of the dissociation states are localized at the protons on both sides symmetrically. Almost no electron is stabilized at the middle proton due to the odd symmetry of the wave function. With the increase of the frequency of the external ultraviolet laser pulse, the electron localization ratio of the middle proton increases, for more electrons of the ground state are excited onto the higher 3pσ~2Σ_u~+ ustate. 50.9% electrons of all the dissociation events can be captured by the middle Coulomb potential well through optimizing the central frequency and peak electric field amplitude of the ultraviolet laser pulse. Besides, a direct current(DC) electric field can be utilized to control the electron motions of the dissociation states after the excitation of an ultraviolet laser pulse, and 68.8% electrons of the dissociation states can be controlled into the middle proton.  相似文献

在铯原子室温蒸气池中研究了弱射频场中Rydberg原子阶梯型三能级系统的电磁感应透明(EIT)效应.铯原子基态6S_(1/2)、第一激发态6P_(3/2)和Rydberg 48D_(5/2)态形成阶梯型三能级系统,探测光共振作用于6S_(1/2)(F=4)→6P_(3/2)(F′=5)的跃迁,耦合光在Rydberg跃迁线6P_(3/2)(F′=5)→48D_(5/2)附近扫描,形成Rydberg原子EIT.当对铯原子施加一个80 MHz的弱射频电场时,48D_(5/2)Rydberg原子的EIT光谱发生Stark频移和分裂,同时产生由射频场调制Rydberg能级的偶数级边带,测量结果与Floquet理论模拟的结果相符合.同时,改变弱射频电场的频率研究了铯Rydberg能级的自电离效应对Rydberg原子Stark谱的影响,据此,我们提出将电极板置于铯原子蒸气池内的方案以减少自电离效应的影响.在弱射频Stark谱中,mj=5/2的Stark谱与mj=1/2,3/2的二级边带形成多个能级交叉,这些能级交叉点提供了一种基于原子的精确校准射频电场的新方法.  相似文献

采用一台频率可扫描的染料激光器将Sm原子从4f66s2 7FJ(J=1,2)态分别激发到具有不同电子组态的若干原子态上,然后利用光电离技术对处于上述状态的Sm原子进行高灵敏探测.通过波长固定在355nm的紫外激光器,我们对一系列具有4f66s6p或者4f55d6s2电子组态的原子状态进行了精密的光谱测量.本实验研究不但确定了这些态的能级位置,还给出了它们的相对光谱强度.通过理论方法对光谱数据详细的分析,我们不但确认了文献中Sm原子的部分奇字称能级的位置和光谱标识,还同时给出了许多新的跃迁及其光谱特性.  相似文献

The 4f~76s(~9S)np 8 P J (J = 5/2, 7/2, 9/2) Rydberg series converging to the first ionization limit 4f 7 6s 9 S 4 of the Eu atom using the three-step laser excitation and electric-field-ionization (EFI) method are studied. First, the Eu atom is excited from the 4f 7 6s 2 8 S o 7/2 ground state to the 4f 7 6s7s 8 S o 7/2 state through the 4f 7 6s6p 10 P 9/2 state by the first two dye lasers. Next, it is populated to many higher-n members of the 4f 7 6s( 9 S)np 8 P J Rydberg series by the third dye laser whose wavelength is scanned within a certain range. Finally, the atom in these higher-n states is ionized by the external pulsed electric field. With the field strength up to 2 kV/cm, we can detect the atom in 4f 7 6s(9 S)np 8 P J states with n 40. With the given laser line width, the level energies of Rydberg states with n as high as 72 can be determined. We not only confirm the previous data on the 4f 7 6s(9 S) np 8 P J Rydberg series, but also extend the n-value assignment significantly by detecting more states.  相似文献

We consider semiclassical higher-order wave packet solutions of the Schr?dinger equation with phase vortices. The vortex line is aligned with the propagation direction, and the wave packet carries a well-defined orbital angular momentum (OAM) variant Planck's over 2pil (l is the vortex strength) along its main linear momentum. The probability current coils around the momentum in such OAM states of electrons. In an electric field, these states evolve like massless particles with spin l. The magnetic-monopole Berry curvature appears in momentum space, which results in a spin-orbit-type interaction and a Berry/Magnus transverse force acting on the wave packet. This brings about the OAM Hall effect. In a magnetic field, there is a Zeeman interaction, which, can lead to more complicated dynamics.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate high-order harmonic generation from H + 2 in an infrared laser field.Our numerical simulations show that a highly efficient plateau structure exists in the molecular harmonic spectrum.Under the action of the infrared laser pulse,the bound electronic wave packet in a potential well has enough time to tunnel through the effective potential barrier,which is formed by the molecular potential and the infrared laser field,and then recombine with the neighboring nucleus emitting a harmonic photon.During the entire dynamic process,because the wave packet is mainly located in the effective potential,the diffusion effect is of no significance,and thus a highly efficient harmonic plateau can be achieved.Specifically,the cut-off frequency of the plateau is linearly scaled with the peak amplitude of the infrared laser electric field,which may open another route to examine the internuclear distance of the molecule.Furthermore,one may detect the molecular bond lengths using the harmonic plateau.  相似文献

The attosecond pump probe, in close analogy to the standard femtosecond probing technique, has been proposed and theoretically demonstrated with its application to explore ultrafast electron motions inside atoms. We have performed realistic modeling for the full dynamics of both the femtosecond pumping and the attosecond probing processes. Our simulations have illustrated that an ultrashort oscillation period of 2.0 fs can be mapped out for a wave packet in low-lying excited states of the helium atom. This opens the prospect of a wealth of similar pump probe experiments to examine ultrafast electronic or atomic motions.  相似文献
