It is shown how to calculate random errors in chemical shift tensor components and in the Euler angles which fix the orientation of the σ tensor in the molecular frame, as obtained from spinning sideband analysis of MAS NMR spectra of powdered solids, when heteronuclear dipolar coupling interactions occur in a two spin system. The procedure was applied to experimental data corresponding to the chemical shift tensor of a carbon-13 bonded to a phosphorus-31 nucleus. Clues are given concerning the experimental variables to be set in order to obtain the desired accuracy in the orientation angles.  相似文献

A number of lead(II) O,O'-dialkyldithiophosphate complexes were studied by (13)C, (31)P, and (207)Pb MAS NMR. Simulations of (31)P chemical shift anisotropy using spinning sideband analysis reveal a linear relationship between the SPS bond angle and the principal values delta(22) and delta(33) of the (31)P chemical shift tensor. The (31)P CSA data were used to assign ligands with different structural functions. In the cases of diethyldithiophosphate and di-iso-butyldithiophosphate lead(II) complexes, (2)J((31)P, (207)Pb)-couplings were resolved and used to confirm the suggested assignment of the ligands. The SIMPSON computer program was used to calculate (31)P and (207)Pb spectral sideband patterns.  相似文献

Phosphorus-31 magic-angle spinning NMR spectroscopy was chosen in order to study a series of N-donor stabilized dithiomonometaphosphoryl halides (F, Cl, and Br) and to extract structural and bonding information from their spectra. Additionally, an unusual line splitting was observed in the 31P MAS NMR spectra of pyridine dithiomonometaphosphoryl chloride (Py-->PS2Cl) and the analogous bromide (Py-->PS2Br). It is shown that this effect is due to a residual dipolar coupling between phosphorus and chlorine or bromine, respectively. This work is to our knowledge the first observation of this effect between P and Br in 31P MAS NMR spectra.  相似文献

Spectral lineshapes of MAS NMR spectra of dipolar (re)coupled spin pairs exhibiting considerable chemical shielding anisotropies at and near the so-called n=0 rotational resonance (R2) condition are considered. The n=0 R2 condition is found to be not extremely sharp. Anisotropic interaction parameters such as chemical shielding tensor orientations and the magnitude of the dipolar coupling constant remain sensitively encoded in such lineshapes even when differences in isotropic chemical shielding values of up to 400 Hz (corresponding to ca. half the size of the dipolar coupling constant) are present. Additional double-quantum filtration (DQF) may enhance the sensitivity of spectral lineshapes to anisotropic interaction parameters for even larger differences in isotropic chemical shielding values. The dependence of the DQF efficiency on spin-system parameters as well as on external parameters (Larmor and MAS frequencies) is investigated. Away from R2 conditions a trend to lower DQF efficiencies is found whereas some spin-system parameters are more sensitively encoded in the corresponding spectral lineshapes. Our study is based on numerical simulations, with the known parameters of the 31P spin pair in Na4P2O7.10H2O representing our model case.  相似文献

The alkynyl carbon chemical shift (CS) tensors for 2-butyne-1,4-diol are reported, based on analyses of the carbon-13 NMR spectra of stationary-powder and slow magic-angle spinning (MAS) samples for which the alkynyl carbon nuclei are enriched in 13C. NMR spectra of slow MAS samples exhibit spinning-frequency-dependent fine structure typical of crystallographically equivalent but magnetically distinct nuclei. Simulated spectra of slow MAS samples of this two-spin system are particularly sensitive to the relative orientations of the CS tensors. In addition, the value of 1J(13C, 13C), +175 +/- 10 Hz, is determined by examination of the total NMR lineshape of slow MAS samples. The CS tensors are almost axially symmetric, delta11 = 158.9 +/- 1.0 ppm and delta22 = 155.7 +/- 1.0 ppm; the direction of greatest shielding is approximately along the alkynyl C-C bond, delta33 = -57.8 +/- 2.0 ppm. Both the magnitudes of the principal components of the CS tensors and their orientations are in agreement with those predicted from first-principles calculations at the HF and MP2 levels of theory. This study demonstrates the importance of examining the NMR spectra of homonuclear two-spin systems with and without MAS under a variety of conditions (e.g., two or more applied magnetic fields and slow MAS).  相似文献

Prudent analysis of the solid state 13C MAS NMR spectra of polycrystalline K2Pt(CN)4 · 3H2O (KTCP) reveals that in crystals of this compound there are two types of carbon nuclei with slightly different 13C chemical shift tensors, contrary to what is found for the solution NMR spectrum and previous static powder NMR studies on this compound and the high resolution solid state NMR studies on other similar compounds. The 13C MAS spectra measured at different rotor spinning speeds are satisfactorily simulated though the use of a newly developed computer program based on a novel density matrix formulation. The present method is eminently successful even though the spectra are rather complicated because of (1) the relatively large anisotropies of the chemical shift tensors; (2) the high-order dipolar interactions between 13C and 14N nuclei because of the strong quadrupolar coupling constants of 14N nuclei; and (3) the indirect J-coupling between the 13C and 195Pt. The principal elements as well as their orientations of the two 13C chemical shift tensors are evaluated from the spectral simulations.  相似文献

Intense sample heating through high-speed magic-angle spinning (MAS; up to 58 K temperature difference) is demonstrated. The role of probehead and spinner design, as well as that of the temperature of the bearing air on the heating of a rotating sample, is examined. MAS-induced heating can affect the accurate determination of the isotropic value of the chemical shift as well as the principal values, asymmetry and anisotropy parameters of the chemical shift tensor. In some cases, a very large temperature gradient (12 K) within the fast rotating sample was found, which may limit the resolution of high-speed 1H MAS nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra.  相似文献

A 31P and 13C NMR study of powder and single crystal samples of two phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) compounds, the tris-ammonium salt monohydrate (NH4)3(PEP)·H2O (1), and the mono-ammonium-salt (NH4)(H2PEP) (2) is presented. The P chemical shielding tensors in 1 are measured by 31P single crystal NMR on four minuscule samples and assigned without ambiguity by exploiting the orientation-dependent 31P-31p dipolar splittings of the resonance lines. The orientation of the 31P chemical shielding tensor is discussed in terms of the C2v — and C3-type distortions of the phosphate PO4-coordination sphere. From 13C MAS NMR experiments with 31P rotary resonance recoupling on polycrystalline powder samples the orientations of the 31P chemical shielding tensors in 1 and 2 are obtained, for 1 in very good agreement with the 31P single crystal NMR results. Only some of the orientational parameters of the three 13C chemical shielding tensors in the PEP moiety of 1 could be derived from 13C MAS NMR experiments with 31P rotary resonance recoupling.  相似文献

59Co triple-quantum (3Q) MAS and single-pulse MAS NMR spectra of K3Co(CN)6 have been obtained at 14.1 T and used in a comparison of these methods for determination of small chemical shift anisotropies for spin I = 7/2 nuclei. From the 3QMAS NMR spectrum a spinning sideband manifold in the isotropic dimension with high resolution is reconstructed from the intensities of all spinning sidebands in the 3QMAS spectrum. The chemical shift anisotropy (CSA) parameters determined from this spectrum are compared with those obtained from MAS NMR spectra of (i) the complete manifold of spinning sidebands for the central and satellite transitions and of (ii) the second-order quadrupolar lineshapes for the centerband and spinning sidebands from the central transition. A good agreement between the three data sets, all of high precision, is obtained for the shift anisotropy (delta(sigma) = delta(iso) - delta(zz)) whereas minor deviations are observed for the CSA asymmetry parameter (eta(sigma)). The temperature dependence of the isotropic 59Co chemical shift has been studied over a temperature range from -28 to +76 degrees C. A linear and positive temperature dependence of 0.97 ppm/degree C is observed.  相似文献

As part of our studies on the characterization of 15N chemical shift anisotropy (CSA) via magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectroscopy, we have investigated via numerical simulations the sensitivity of two different REDOR experimental protocols to the angles defining the orientation of the 15N-13C' bond vector in the principal axis system of the 15N CSA tensor of the amide nitrogen in a peptide bond. Additionally, employing polycrystalline samples of 15N and 13C', 15N-labeled acetanilide, we have obtained, in a first study of this type, the orientation of the 15N CSA tensor in the molecular frame by orienting the tensor with respect to the 15N-3C' and 15N-1H dipolar vectors via 15N-13C' REDOR and 15N-1H dipolar-shift MAS experiments, respectively.  相似文献

Determination of NMR interaction parameters from double rotation NMR   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
It is shown that the anisotropic NMR parameters for half-integer quadrupolar nuclei can be determined using double rotation (DOR) NMR at a single magnetic field with comparable accuracy to multi-field static and MAS experiments. The (17)O nuclei in isotopically enriched l-alanine and OPPh(3) are used as illustrations. The anisotropic NMR parameters are obtained from spectral simulation of the DOR spinning sideband intensities using a computer program written with the GAMMA spin-simulation libraries. Contributions due to the quadrupolar interaction, chemical shift anisotropy, dipolar coupling and J coupling are included in the simulations. In l-alanine the oxygen chemical shift span is 455 +/- 20 ppm and 350 +/- 20 ppm for the O1 and O2 sites, respectively, and the Euler angles are determined to an accuracy of +/- 5-10 degrees . For cases where effects due to heteronuclear J and dipolar coupling are observed, it is possible to determine the angle between the internuclear vector and the principal axis of the electric field gradient (EFG). Thus, the orientation of the major components of both the EFG and chemical shift tensors (i.e., V(33) and delta(33)) in the molecular frame may be obtained from the relative intensity of the split DOR peaks. For OPPh(3) the principal axis of the (17)O EFG is found to be close to the O-P bond, and the (17)O-(31)P one-bond J coupling ((1)J(OP)=161 +/- 2 Hz) is determined to a much higher accuracy than previously.  相似文献

The supramolecular 1:1 host-guest inclusion compound, p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene x alpha,alpha,alpha-trifluorotoluene, 1, is characterized by 19F and 13C solid-state NMR spectroscopy. Whereas the 13C NMR spectra are easily interpreted in the context of earlier work on similar host-guest compounds, the 15F NMR spectra of solid 1 are, initially, more difficult to understand. The 19F[1H] NMR spectrum obtained under cross-polarization and magic-angle spinning conditions shows a single isotropic resonance with a significant spinning sideband manifold. The static 19F[1H] CP NMR spectrum consists of a powder pattern dominated by the contributions of the anisotropic chemical shift and the homonuclear dipolar interactions. The 19F MREV-8 experiment, which minimizes the 19F-19F dipolar contribution, helps to identify the chemical shift contribution as an axial lineshape. The full static 19F[1H] CP NMR spectrum is analysed using subspectral analysis and subsequently simulated as a function of the 19F-19F internuclear distance (D(FF) = 2.25 +/- 0.01 A) of the rapidly rotating CF3 group without including contributions from additional libration motions and the anisotropy in the scalar tensor. The shielding span is found to be 56 ppm. The width of the centerband in the 19F[1H] sample-spinning CP NMR spectrum is very sensitive to the angle between the rotor and the magnetic field. Compound 1 is thus an attractive standard for setting the magic angle for NMR probes containing a fluorine channel with a proton-decoupling facility.  相似文献

The CP/MAS 13C NMR spectra of crystalline L-leucine and DL-leucine at 7 T are compared with previously reported spectra at lower field strengths. An increasing dominance of chemical shift effects over residual 14N-13C dipolar interactions is observed on the C alpha and C beta splittings with increasing field strength. A new structure is observed in the 25 ppm region of both samples. The spectra in this region were assigned by application of the depolarisation-repolarisation method. The assignment showed differences in the ordering of peaks between solid state and liquid state chemical shifts.  相似文献

The effect of dipolar coupling to 14N on 13C FIREMAT (five pi replicated magic angle turning) experiments is investigated. A method is developed for fitting the 13C FIREMAT FID employing the full theory to extract the 13C-14N dipolar and 13C chemical shift tensor information. The analysis requires prior knowledge of the electric field gradient (EFG) tensor at the 14N nucleus. In order to validate the method the analysis is done for the amino acids alpha-glycine, gamma-glycine, l-alanine, l-asparagine, and l-histidine on FIREMAT FIDs recorded at 13C frequencies of 50 and 100 MHz. The dipolar and chemical shift data obtained with this analysis are in very good agreement with the previous single-crystal 13C NMR results and neutron diffraction data on alpha-glycine, l-alanine, and l-asparagine. The values for gamma-glycine and l-histidine obtained with this new method are reported for the first time. The uncertainties in the EFG tensor on the resultant 13C chemical shift and dipolar tensor values are assessed.  相似文献

In a dipolar-coupled spin-1/2 network of the type 15N1-(13)C-15N2, an assessment of the sensitivity of the N --> C and C --> N TEDOR sideband intensities to the Euler angles defining the orientation of the two heteronuclear dipolar vectors in the 13C and 15N chemical shift (CS) tensor principal axes system has been carried out via numerical calculations. The results clearly indicate the potential of TEDOR MAS NMR spectroscopy for the characterization of the CS tensor orientation in the molecular frame. The efficacy of the method has been experimentally illustrated by TEDOR studies on a polycrystalline sample of [1, 3-(15)N2, 2-(13)C]uracil, which is one of the four bases in RNA.  相似文献

A method of determination of chemical shift anisotropy (CSA) tensor principal components under MAS condition is presented. It is a simple, one-dimensional, and robust alternative to the commonly exploited, but more complicated 2D-PASS. The required CSA components are delivered by simultaneous numerical analysis of a few regular MAS spectra acquired under different spinning rates.  相似文献

Spinning sidebands (SSBs) in the MAS NMR spectrum of a polycrystalline solid are related to the principal values of the chemical shift or quadrupole coupling tensors. At present, 2D methods are widely used to sort out the SSBs for each isotropic peak. Here a simple and efficient method for separating the SSBs in 1D MAS NMR spectra is described. It is based on finding the optimal spinning rate with a mathematical algorithm and subsequently treating the spectra with filtering functions.  相似文献

Chemical shift modeling, utilizing the DFT B3LYP/D95** method, provides the spectral assignment of the 35 visible 13C resonances from the solid-phase erythromycin A dihydrate. A new resonance at 110.8ppm is observed in the high-resolution 13C CP/MAS spectrum upon the application of heat or sample desiccation. With the use of the dipolar-dephasing spectral editing technique, this resonance is identified as a hemiketal carbon and the alternative hypothesis, a conformational change to the anomeric carbon of the desosamine sugar, is ruled out. Hence, the formation of a cyclic hemiketal in erythromycin A while in the solid phase is proven by solid-state NMR. The principal components of the 13C chemical-shift tensor corresponding to this hemiketal are reported. This is the first measurement of hemiketal 13C principal values. The delta11 and delta22 components are unique compared to anomeric carbon values reported in the literature.  相似文献

The paramagnetic metallocenes and decamethylmetallocenes (C(5)H(5))(2)M and (C(5)Me(5))(2)M with M=V (S=3/2), Mn (S=5/2 or 1/2), Co (S=1/2), and Ni (S=1) were studied by (1)H and (13)C solid-state MAS NMR spectroscopy. Near room temperature spinning sideband manifolds cover ranges of up to 1100 and 3500 ppm, and isotropic signal shifts appear between -260 and 300 ppm and between -600 and 1640 ppm for (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra, respectively. The isotropic paramagnetic signal shifts, which are related to the spin densities in the s orbital of ligand atoms, were discussed. A Herzfeld--Berger spinning sideband analysis of the ring carbon signals yielded the principal values of the paramagnetic shift tensors, and for metallocenes with a small g-factor anisotropy the electron spin density in the ligand pi system was determined from the chemical shift anisotropy. The unusual features of the (1)H and (13)C solid-state NMR spectra of manganocene were related to its chain structure while temperature-dependent (1)H MAS NMR studies reflected antiferromagnetic interaction between the spin centers.  相似文献

Three cis-dioxovanadium(V) complexes with similar N-salicylidenehydrazide ligands modeling hydrogen bonding interactions of vanadate relevant for vanadium haloperoxidases are studied by (51)V solid-state NMR spectroscopy. Their parameters describing the quadrupolar and chemical shift anisotropy interactions (quadrupolar coupling constant C(Q), asymmetry of the quadrupolar tensor eta(Q), isotropic chemical shift delta(iso), chemical shift anisotropy delta(sigma), asymmetry of the chemical shift tensor eta(sigma) and the Euler angles alpha, beta and gamma) are determined both experimentally and theoretically using DFT methods. A comparative study of different methods to determine the NMR parameters by numerical simulation of the spectra is presented. Detailed theoretical investigations on the DFT level using various basis sets and structural models show that by useful choice of the methodology, the calculated parameters agree to the experimental ones in a very good manner.  相似文献
