以二维三角晶格光子晶体为研究对象,在该光子晶体中引入两行以一行耦合介质柱为间距的平行单模线缺陷波导.通过分析和研究光子晶体波导耦合结构的耦合和解耦合特性,发现在不同频率下耦合波导的耦合长度不同.利用平面波展开法和定向耦合原理计算了在不同入射光频率下,缺陷波导间耦合波导的耦合长度,设计了一种新型超微光子晶体波导耦合型三波长功分器,实现了归一化频率分别为0.369、0.394、0.435的光波的分束效果.采用时域有限差分法验证了该功分器具有很好的功率分配效果.本文结果有助于光子晶体新型滤波器、定向耦合器、波分复用器、偏振光分束器以及光开关等光子器件的研究.  相似文献

以二维三角晶格光子晶体为研究对象,在该光子晶体中引入两行平行的单模线缺陷波导,以一行耦合介质柱为间距,通过调节部分耦合介质柱的折射率,构筑了光子晶体异质结耦合波导光开关结构。利用平面波展开法和定向耦合原理计算了在不同入射光频率下,缺陷波导间耦合介质柱的折射率不同时的耦合长度,确定了合适的光子晶体异质结耦合波导光开关的结构参数。利用时域有限差分法研究了该光开关中耦合介质柱的折射率变化及异质结构介质柱的位置分布对光信号输出路径的影响。结果表明,通过改变该结构中耦合介质柱的折射率可以改变光的输出路径,可实现光的开关行为。并且异质结构介质柱位置的随机分布对该光开关的影响不大,有助于光子晶体新型滤波器、定向耦合器、波分复用器以及光开关等光子器件的研究。  相似文献

将耦合波导列应用于光子晶体单模波导,提出一种提高光辐射的光子晶体结构. 基于时域有限差分方法的理论研究表明,当将耦合波导列附加到单模光子晶体波导出口端的适当位置,使出射光分成若干强弱不一的光束,这些光束在传播空间通过干涉形成一定程度的汇聚,大大提高了光子晶体波导在水平方向的光辐射效率. 另外,当耦合波导列的行数大于某固定值(2N=8)时,辐射质量基本保持不变,由此可获得最紧凑的器件结构. 这种类型光子晶体在近场光学和集成光学等诸多方面有潜在的应用价值. 关键词: 光子晶体波导 光辐射 波导列 耦合波导  相似文献

采用时域有限差分法研究两平行光子晶体波导的传输特性及模场分布,利用耦合模理论计算光子晶体波导的耦合系数。计算结果表明,在不同的频率范围内两平行光子晶体波导之间表现出不同的耦合特性:在高频段(0.32~0.44)(ωa/2πc)的范围内两直波导表现出相互的能量交换,实现光耦合,耦合系数随入射波 频率增加而减小;而在低频段(0.29~0.32)(ωa/2πc)的范围内,两波导的传输谱图几乎重合。最后,提出一种采用固定波导耦合长度同时实现光分束及光均分器的方案,当耦合长度取34a时,可将频率为0.333 (ωa/2πc)和 0.357(ωa/2πc)的两入射波分束传播,同时将低频段中的任意频率波进行能量均分。  相似文献

在完整二维光子晶体中引入线缺陷后,就形成了光子晶体波导。将时域有限差分法(FDTD)和平面波法作为光子晶体理论研究的工具。研究结果表明,光子晶体波导之间的耦合遵循普通介质波导耦合的一般规律,有定向耦合的功能;将两个具有不同耦合长度的光子晶体波导定向耦合器顺序集成在一起,可以组成一个三波长的光子晶体分/合频器。  相似文献

用级联缓变结构实现光子晶体波导和传统波导的耦合   总被引:4,自引:4,他引:0  
为了提高光子晶体波导与传统介质波导的耦合效率,设计了级联缓变结构.先将传统介质波导中的光耦合进尺寸相当的光子晶体W5波导中,然后W5波导中的光被耦合进尺寸较小些的W3波导中,最后光被耦合进尺寸最小的W1波导.各级波导之间由半径逐渐增大的空气孔连接,空气孔半径逐渐变化相当于波导有效折射率在变化,所以各级波导可以看作是被折射率缓变结构连接起来.由于折射率的缓变,使得光从前一级波导耦合进相邻的后一级波导时反射很小,从而能有效地提高耦合效率.数值计算表明,在光子晶体禁带范围内,除了波导有限长度和波导微小禁带造成的微小不通带外,耦合系数一般能达80%左右,最高可达到95%.  相似文献

采用时域有限差分法研究二维光子晶体两平行直波导以及三平行直波导的传输特性。计算结果表明,两平行波导在不同的频率范围内表现出不同的耦合特性:在高频段两波导表现出相互的能量交换,实现光耦合,而在低频段传输谱图重合,各波导传输光强均为入射光强的二分之一;对于三波导系统,发现在不同的频率范围内主波导与两耦合波导之间也表现出不同的耦合特性:在高频段两耦合波导与主波导实现光耦合,而在低频段两耦合波导与主波导的传输谱图同步变化,耦合波导的传输光强均约为入射光强的四分之一。  相似文献

本文理论研究了近红外波段硅基三角晶格光子晶体环形微腔的光场局域特性,通过将微腔在空间周期性排列组成耦合腔光波导,研究了多个导带区域内光束传输时的群速度,最大和最小值分别为0.0028c和0.00028c.将环形微腔在垂直于光传输方向上进行交错排列,通过改变相邻微腔之间的耦合区域,可以大幅降低多频段范围内光束在耦合腔波导中传输时群速度之间的差异,并提高部分频段的透过率数值.在不改变介质柱半径条件下,通过去掉三角晶格光子晶体中距中心介质柱距离分别为2a和√3a的六个介质柱构成了两种微腔,研究了两种微腔所支持的谐振波长之间的差异,在此基础上构造了两种耦合腔波导,进而将这两种耦合腔光波导与W1型输入/输出波导相连,最终实现了在多个不同频率范围内降低群速度的同时实现频段选择和频段分束功能,其导模群速度可降低到0.00047c.  相似文献

分析了多光子晶体谐振腔的并联耦合模理论,并根据该理论设计了单通道光子晶体侧面耦合波导以实现光子晶体器件与光源间的高效耦合。理论研究表明并联谐振腔的耦合效率与谐振腔数量、间距以及品质因子相关。经优化耦合面积和耦合效率,最终选择了5个谐振腔并联作为单通道侧面耦合波导的耦合部分。通过设置谐振腔间距改变其对称性,从而实现侧面耦合波导的单通道传播。在1.55μm工作波长下,单通道侧面耦合波导的耦合效率可达94.49%。  相似文献

A detailed study of a platform of ultra-small photonic large-scale integrated circuits was conducted. Bandgap structure calculations of silicon-on-insulator (SOI) based photonic crystals have been investigated. The photonic crystal consists of dielectric cylinders in air. Using the band structure calculations we obtained design parameters for the proposed structures. The coupling between the photonic crystal and a waveguide fabricated from SOI system has been analysed. It is shown that the optical coupling is improved by interfacing different types of spot-size converters (SSCs) between the SOI waveguide and the photonic crystal. Also, the possibility and limitations of silicon doped germanium and SOI photonic crystals to analyse the light guiding in the third dimension is discussed.  相似文献

In photonic crystals, light propagation is forbidden in a certain wavelength range, the bandgap. In a two-dimensional crystal composed of parallel high-refractive index rods in a low-index background a line defect can be formed by removing a row of these rods, which can act as a waveguide for frequencies in the bandgap of the crystal. In order to get more insight into the main features of such waveguides we have studied a number of properties, using simulation tools based on the finite difference time domain method and a finite element Helmholtz solver. We show conceptually simple methods for determining the bandgap of the crystal as well as the dispersion of a waveguide for wavelengths in this bandgap. For practical applications, it is also important to know how much light can be coupled into the waveguide. Therefore, the coupling of light from a dielectric slab waveguide into the photonic crystal waveguide has been examined, showing that a coupling efficiency of up to 83% can be obtained between a silicon oxide slab and a waveguide in a crystal of silicon rods. Finally, calculations on an ultra-compact filter based on reflectively terminated side-branches of waveguides (similar to tuned stubs in microwave engineering) are shown and discussed.  相似文献

两平行光子晶体单模波导的相互耦合组成一个耦合结构。两本征模的色散曲线相交并出现简并,简并模之间的耦合作用使模式的分布发生了改变。由于耦合的作用,各个波长的光波会在不同的波导中传输。在简并点处两本征模发生解耦合,光波会沿着原来的方向传输。将两个不同耦合长度的光子晶体波导耦合结构集成在一起,就可以组成一个三波长的光子晶体波分复用器。  相似文献

Based on the present coupled mode theory of the photonic crystal resonator array in this paper,we propose a novel side-coupled waveguide to achieve highly efficient coupling of photonic crystal devices.It is found that the coupling efficiency is sensitive to the interval,the total number and the quality factor of the resonator.Considering the coupling efficiency and the coupling region,we select five resonators with an interval of six lattice periods.By optimizing the structure parameters of the waveguide and resonator,the quality factors of the resonator can be modulated and the coupling efficiency of the side-coupled waveguide reaches 95.47% in theory.Compared with other coupling methods,the side-coupled waveguide can realize efficient coupling with a compact structure,a high level of integration and a low degree of operational difficulties.  相似文献

鉴于在微观领域光波的缩束对实现光电集成的重要意义,提出了基于硅纳米线波导的两级光子晶体缩束器。其中一级压缩基于W5型和W1型光子晶体波导间的高效耦合。二级压缩则由宽为0.1μm,长为3.06μm的纳米线波导和W1型光子晶体波导构成,通过二者的高效耦合实现光束压缩。当W1型光子晶体波导和纳米线波导间介质柱的半径为0.04μm时,对于1550nm波长的电磁波,缩束器的通光效率可达93.4%,压缩比为16.08,出射光束半峰全宽仅为0.148μm。  相似文献

A method of designing a photonic crystal grating slow-wave circuit in which the cylinders of the 2D photonic crystals dot on a cross-sectional plane is established by calculating the band structures of the 2D photonic crystals, and the eigenfrequency of the equivalent waveguide grating. For calculating the band structures, the eigenvalue equations of the photonic crystals in the system of photonie crystal grating slow-wave circuit are derived in a special polarization mode. Two examples are taken to show the method. The design result is validated by the scattering parameters of the same circuit. The result indicates that there exists no photonic band gap if the metal gratings do not extend into the photonic crystals; the design of the circuit without the metal gratings extending into the photonie crystals is less flexible than that with the metal gratings extending into the photonic crystals.  相似文献

There are several key factors that affect the transmission characteristics of the 90° (L-shaped) bent photonic crystal waveguides. The first factor is the direct coupling efficiency from the incident lights into the waveguides. The second one is the bandgap deviations of the photonic crystals. And the third factor is the optical reflections in the bent corners. In this article, we compare three types of L-shaped bent photonic crystal waveguides. One is the original type, which has an abrupt right-angle bend. Another is an improved 90° bend with a 45°-mirror. The other is an L-shaped bent photonic crystal waveguide with a 45°-transitional section. We investigate their respective frequency responses and observe the improvements in the total transmission efficiencies provided by the latter types.  相似文献
