The influence of multi-pion correlations on two-pion interferometry analysis in multi-pion events can be expressed as the ratio of a multi pion correlation factor for the sample of like-pion pairs to a residual correlation factor for the reference sample.Although these two correlation factors can be partially cancelled our in data analyses,the difference between these two factors in the low relative momentum region is so large that the distortion on the analysed results of two-pion interferometry from multi-pion interference becomes a serious problem when the pion source has a small radius and the pion multiplicity of event is high.The distributions of multi-pion correlation factor Cn-2(q) can sensitively reflect the multi-pion correlation effects in the events The analyses of multi-pion correlation factor for two Bevalac streamer chamber data samples of 2.1AGeV Ne+Pb and 1.8AGeV Ar+Pb collisions show that the multi-pion correlation effect in the former data sample is greater that in the latter.  相似文献

The two-pion correlation functions are different for some pion source distributions in two-pion interferometry.If quark-gluon plasma of cylindrical shape is produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions, the pion mesons will emit from the surface of quark-gluon plasma of cylindrical shape and the corresponding correlation function will have a special oscillation behavior. The oscillation behavior can be used to verify the existence of quark-gluon plasma and is also a signature of the appearance of quark-gluon plasma.  相似文献

A general expression for nπ correlation function is given when there are multi-pion correlations in the choices of correlated nπ and uncorrelated nπ. Using this expression, the two-pion interferometry at small relative momentum which takes account for multi-pion correlations is studied, the relations between the pion source parameters from the two-pion interferometry and the three- pion interferometry are obtained analytically, and comparison is made with the experimental results of central relativistic heavy ion collisions 1.8 A GeV Ar+Pb.  相似文献

Predominantly preliminary single and double inclusive momentum spectra of 158 AGeV Pb+Pb collisions, recently measured by the NA44 and NA49 Collaborations, are reproduced using the relativistic hydrodynamical model HYLANDER-C. Two different equations of state, which both contain a phase transition to a quark-gluon plasma, can be used to reproduce the (preliminary) data. The space-time geometries in the two calculations differ strongly. However, the Bose-Einstein correlation functions of identical pion pairs do not show such a strong, but still a significant sensitivity to the effects of the equations of state.  相似文献

CERN experiment NA44 measures pion and kaon distributions atpT=0–320 MeV/c at midrapidity in p+A and A+A collisions at 450 and 200A GeV/c, respectively. Pion production from p+Pb and A+A is slightly enhanced at lowpT relative to p+Be, but less than observed at target rapidity. The lowpT behavior can be understood in the context of the RQMD model as arising from baryonic resonance decays.  相似文献

We study the possible signals of the pion string associated with the QCD chiral phase transition in LHC Pb–Pb collision at energy s=5.5 TeV.We follow the Kibble–Zurek mechanism to discuss the production and evolution of the pion string.We will show that if the QCD chiral phase transition really takes place in the LHC Pb-Pb collision process and the phase transition is in the second order,the pion string will be inevitably produced and subsequently decay.The main effect of this phenomenon is that there is a generation of a large number of pions in the final state produced by the decay of the pion string, and these pions are mostly distributed in a low momentum region with p~143MeV; also there are lots of neutral pions distributed in a low momentum region with the mean momentum at p~21MeV.  相似文献

The anisotropy of the pion emission in the collisions of 1.8AGeV Ar+Pb is studied with the VUU model to obtain the information of the nuclear equation of state.We point out that the collective motion of pions in the final state has the final state has the characteristic similar to that of collective correlations of baryons,and the azimuthal anisotropy of pions is a sensitive parameter to the nuclear equation of state in the projectile rapidity region where the absorption of target spectator is weak.Collisions of 1.8AGeV Ar+Pb in the Bevalac streamer chamber are analyzed using the azimuthal correlation function for pions and the results favor the hard nuclear incompressibility.  相似文献

We present and discuss a systematic calculation, based on two-loop chiral perturbation theory, of the pion-nuclear s-wave optical potential. A proper treatment of the explicit energy dependence of the off-shell pion self-energy together with (electromagnetic) gauge invariance of the Klein-Gordon equation turns out to be crucial. Accurate data for the binding energies and widths of the 1s and 2p levels in pionic 205Pb and 207Pb are well reproduced without need for a notorious "missing repulsion" in the pion-nuclear s-wave optical potential. The connection with the in-medium change of the pion decay constant is clarified.  相似文献

We analyze the second Fourier coefficient v(2) of the pion azimuthal distribution in noncentral heavy-ion collisions in a relativistic hydrodynamic model. The exact treatment of the decay kinematics of resonances leads to almost vanishing azimuthal anisotropy of pions near the midrapidity, while the matter elliptic flow is in plane at freeze-out. In addition, we reproduce the rapidity dependence of v(2) for pions measured in noncentral Pb+Pb collisions at 158A GeV. This suggests that resonance particles as well as stable particles constitute the in-plane flow and are important ingredients for the understanding of the observed pion flow.  相似文献

Measurements of azimuthal distribution of inclusive photons using the fine granularity pre-shower photon multiplicity detector (PMD) at CERN SPS are used to obtain anisotropy in the azimuthal distributions. These results are used to estimate the anisotropy in the neutral pion distributions. The results are compared with results of charged particle data, both for first order and second order anisotropy. Assuming the same anisotropy for charged and neutral pions, the anisotropy in photons is estimated and compared with the measured anisotropy. The effect of neutral pion decay on the correlation between the first order and the second order event plane is also discussed. Data from PMD can also be used to estimate the reaction plane for studying any anisotropy in particle emission characteristics in the ALICE experiment at the large hadron collider (LHC). In particular, we show that using the event plane from the PMD, it will be possible to measure the anisotropy inJ/Ψ absorption (if any) in the ALICE experiment.  相似文献

A model-independent, three-dimensional source function for pion pairs has been extracted from Pb + Pb collisions at √s NN = 17.3 GeV. The extracted source exhibits long-range non-Gaussian tails in the directions of the pion-pair net transverse momentum and of the beam. Comparison with the Therminatormodel allows for an extraction of the pion source proper breakup time and of emission duration in the collisions. We use phenomenological nonlocal Lagrangians, which lead to nontrivial forms for the quark propagator, to describe the pion. We define a procedure based on previous studies on nonlocal Lagrangians for the calculation of the pion parton distributions at low Q2. The obtained parton distributions fulfill all the wishful properties. Using a convolution approach we incorporate the composite character of the constituent quarks. We evolve, using the Renormalization Group, the calculated parton distributions to the experimental scale and compare favorably with the data and draw conclusions.  相似文献

The effect of the choice of the background on the pion source parameters in two-Pion interferometry analyses in relativistic heavy-ion collisions is studied with the two-Pion interferometry at small relative momentum. The analytic relations between the pion source parameters from two-Pion interferometry analyses with different backgrounds are obtained, and comparison is made with the experimental measurements of the cental relativistic heavy-ion collisions of 1.8 A GeV Ar+Pb.  相似文献
