We present a new approach to estimate the effect of gluon shadowing in nucleus + nucleus collisions and its consequences on
the J/ψ production yield. Using kinematical information available from the measured J/ψ production in proton + proton collisions at
GeV, we build a Glauber Monte Carlo code which takes into account shadowing in two alternative ways: multiple-scattering
corrections or Q
2 evolution of parton densities. We exploit the dependence of these different parameterizations to the J/ψ transverse momentum and we give the first predictions on the resulting p

Conformal symmetry in impact space has been used to calculate the scattering amplitude in the Regge region and in the region of large energy and large momentum transfer in the six-dimensional 3 model. The new method overcomes difficulties with the conformal approach in cases where the asymptotics is determined by double-logarithmic contributions. This is a methodical study preparing the analysis of the Regge asymptotics of QCD amplitudes with flavour exchange and of the asymptotics of large energy and large momentum transfer for the vacuum exchange amplitude. 相似文献

We study the production of hyperons inp + A reactions within the BUU transport approach including elastic N rescattering and extract the sticking probabilities and hypernucleus formation cross sections as a function of bombarding energy and target mass. At 1.5 GeV about 25% of the hyperons are found to be bound in case of heavy nuclei like238U leading to large cross sections for-hypernuclei. The respective hypernuclei show broad distributions in excitation energy, momentum and angular momentum. The decay of the hyperon in case of heavy targets is found to be almost entirely due to nonmesonic decay channels, i.e.N NN processes.Supported by BMFT, GSI, Forschungszentrum Jülich and the Polish Committee for Scientific Research under Grant no. A Regge model with absorptive corrections is employed in a global analysis of the world data on the reactions
p
p and
n
n for photon energies from 3 to 18GeV. In this region resonance contributions are expected to be negligible so that the available
experimental information on differential cross-sections and single and double polarization observables at - t
2 GeV2allows us to determine the reaction amplitude reliably. The model amplitude is then used to predict observables for photon
energies below 3GeV. A detailed comparison with recent data from the CLAS and CB-ELSA Collaborations in that energy region
is presented. Furthermore, the prospects for determining the radiative decay width via the Primakoff effect from the reaction
p

We study the production amplitude for the reaction NN → NNπ up to next-to-leading order in chiral perturbation theory using a counting scheme that takes into account the large scale
introduced by the initial momentum. In particular, we investigate a subtlety that arises once the leading loop contributions
are convoluted with the NN wave functions as demanded by the non-perturbative nature of the NN interaction. We show how to properly identify the irreducible contribution of loop diagrams in such type of reaction. The
net effect of the inclusion of all next-to-leading-order loops is to enhance the leading rescattering amplitude by a factor
of 4/3, bringing its contribution to the cross-section for pp → dπ+ close to the experimental value. 相似文献

After deriving the projected stress tensor in cylindrical geometry for a fluid membrane described by the Helfrich Hamiltonian,
we calculate the average force f exerted by a thermally fluctuating nanotubule of radius R , and its standard deviation

f being typically small compared to f . Taking into account the difference between the internal tension and the actual mechanical tension applied to the membrane from which the tubule is drawn, we discuss the amplitude of the fluctuation-induced corrections to
the average force. Our results, obtained in the harmonic approximation, hold for tubules with aspect ratio not larger than

The photoproduction of η -mesons off 12C , 40Ca , 93Nb , and
nat
Pb nuclei has been measured with a tagged photon beam with energies between 0.6 and 2.2GeV. The experiment was performed at
the Bonn ELSA accelerator with the combined setup of the Crystal Barrel and TAPS calorimeters. It aimed at the in-medium properties
of the S
11(1535) nucleon resonance and the study of the absorption properties of nuclear matter for η -mesons. Careful consideration
was given to contributions from ηπ final states and secondary production mechanisms of η -mesons, e.g. from inelastic πN reactions of intermediate pions. The analysis of the mass number scaling shows that the nuclear absorption cross-section
for η -mesons is constant over a wide range of the η momentum. The comparison of the excitation functions to data off the
deuteron and to calculations in the framework of a BUU model show no unexplained in-medium modifications of the S

To determine nonspherical angular-momentum amplitudes in hadrons at long ranges (low Q2), data were taken for the p(ˉe, e'p)π0 reaction in the Δ region at Q
2 = 0.060 (GeV/c)2 utilizing the magnetic spectrometers of the A1 Collaboration at MAMI. The results for the dominant transition magnetic dipole
amplitude and the quadrupole to dipole ratios at W = 1232 MeV are
, Re(
)%, and Re(
)%. These disagree with predictions of constituent quark models but are in reasonable agreement with lattice calculations
with nonlinear (chiral) pion mass extrapolations, with chiral effective field theory, and with dynamical models with pion

The differential cross section and deuteron analysing powers of the
p → {pp}n charge-exchange reaction have been measured with the ANKE spectrometer at the COSY storage ring. Using a deuteron beam of
energy 1170MeV, data were obtained for small momentum transfers to a {pp} system with low excitation energy. A good quantitative understanding of all the measured observables is provided by the
impulse approximation using known neutron-proton amplitudes. The proof of principle achieved here for the method suggests

The differential cross-sections σ0 = σT + εσL , σLT , and σTT of electroproduction from the proton were measured from threshold up to an additional center-of-mass energy of 40MeV, at a value
of the photon four-momentum transfer of Q
2 = 0.05 GeV2/c2 and a center-of-mass angle of θ = 90° . By an additional out-of-plane measurement with polarized electrons σLT' was determined. This showed for the first time the presence of an imaginary part of the s -wave above the threshold, which is usually interpreted as a unitary cusp. The predictions of the Heavy Baryon Chiral Perturbation Theory
(HBChPT) are in disagreement with these data. On the other hand, the data are somewhat better predicted by the MAID phenomenological

The single-pion production reactions pp
d
, pp
np
and pp
pp
were measured at a beam momentum of 0.95GeV/c ( T
p
400 MeV) using the short version of the COSY-TOF spectrometer. The central calorimeter provided particle identification,
energy determination and neutron detection in addition to time-of-flight and angle measurements from other detector parts.
Thus all pion production channels were recorded with 1-4 overconstraints. The main emphasis is put on the presentation and
discussion of the np
channel, since the results on the other channels have already been published previously. The total and differential cross-sections
obtained are compared to theoretical calculations. In contrast to the pp
channel we observe in the np
channel a strong influence of the excitation. In particular, the pion angular distribution exhibits a (3 cos2
+ 1) -dependence, typical for a pure s -channel excitation and identical to that observed in the d
channel. Since the latter is understood by a s -channel resonance in the 1
D
2
pn partial wave, we discuss an analogous scenario for the pn

We present an alternative approach to describe deuteron production in high energy particle collisions. The phenomenological Lund-model has been used to give the number and momentum distribution of secondary nucleons produced in 300 GeV proton-proton collisions. Deuterons are assumed to be produced in a final state interaction between the nucleons inNN d reactions inside a volume of 1 F3. The results are compared to experimental data.Data became available for antideuteron production in e+e– annihilation. * A Lund Monte Carlo calculation for the production of secondary nucleons in e+e– collisions exist. The results from a final state interaction were too small by a factor 103. A calculation for a coalescent model which uses the overlap of the proton-neutron momentum distribution with a distribution from a Hulthen wave function is in good agreement with the data. The coalescent model works well in this case. It is because the relative momentum of the coalescent nucleons produced for 10 GeV cm energy in e+e– collisions is very much smaller than the relative momentum of the nucleons produced in 300 GeV fixed target energy ofpp collisions. 相似文献
