EPR investigation on xV2O5 · (100 −x)[2P2O5 · Na2O] and xV2O5 · (100 −x)[P2O5 · mNa2O] (m = 1.5 and 2) glass systems was performed. The changes observed in the EPR spectra of xV2O5× (100 −x)[2P2O5 · Na2O] glasses with increasing content of vanadium oxide are explained supposing that these spectra consist of two superposed EPR signals, one with hyperfine structure typical for isolated ions and another one consisting of a broad line without hyperfine structure characteristic for clustered ions. The clustered V4+ ions are not evidenced at low V2O5 contents (x = 5 mol%). The EPR spectra of xV2O5 · (100 −x)[P2O5 · mNa2O] glasses indicate a superposition of two or three hyperfine structures attributed to nonequivalent VO2+ centers. Spin Hamiltonian parameters (g, A), dipolar hyperfine coupling parameter (P) and Fermi contact interaction term (K) have been evaluated. The ratio between the number of clustered and isolated ions was also determined.  相似文献

Physical and spectral studies on 20ZnO + xLi2O + (30-x)Na2O + 50B2O3 (5 ≤ x ≥ 25) doped with 0.1 mol% of paramagnetic CuO impurity are carried out. Powder X-ray diffraction patterns of the glass samples confirm the amorphous nature. The physical parameters of all the glasses were also evaluated with respect to the composition. The electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of all these glasses exhibit resonance signals that are characteristic of Cu2+ ions. The optical absorption spectra also confirm the Cu2+ ion in tetragonally elongated octahedral site. Various crystal field, spin-Hamiltonian and bonding parameters are evaluated. It is observed that the mixed alkali effect is significant.  相似文献

EPR and magnetic susceptibility experiments have been performed on x(CuO·MnO)(1?x)[2B2O3·K2O] glasses with x varying in the range 0?x?50 mol.%. For x?3 mol.% both Cu2+ and Mn2+ ions are present mostly as the isolated species. The increase of the g-tensor values and bonding parameters (α2, β2, δ2) for Cu2+ ions together with the increase of TM ions concentration in the 0.2–1 mol.% range was noticed. In the case of 5 ? x ? 30 mol.% the dipole-dipole and superexchange interactions occur between transition metal ions, the first type of interactions prevailing in this range of concentration. For x30 mol.% the superexchange interaction prevail. The strong interaction between Cu2+ and Mn2+ gives rise to the exchange coupled Cu2+Mn2+ pairs in the studied glasses with x 3 mol.%.  相似文献

NMR spectra of CdXCu1−xFe2O4 /0≤x≤0.30/ at liquid helium temperature have been obtained in the frequency range of 50 to 110 MHz using the spin-echo technique. Influence of substitution of Cu2+ ions by Cd2+ ions on effective magnetic fields at57Fe nuclei has been found only at octahedral sites.  相似文献

The results of magnetic investigations onxCoO.(1-x)[2B2O3.K2O] glasses are reported. The magnetic properties of these glasses are dependent on the CoO content. For glasses withx > > 10 mol% CoO, the Co2+ ions are coupled antiferromagnetically.  相似文献

The Jahn-Teller effect in the ZnGa2O4 spinel single crystal has been investigated using electron paramagnetic resonance of Cu2+ ions in the temperature range 110–560 K. It has been shown that copper ions occupy octahedral sites 16d in the ZnGa2O4 crystal with cubic symmetry O h 7 (Fd-3m). At T < 560 K, the octahedra undergo tetragonal distortions (predominantly tension) and rotation around the fourfold axes by the angle θ ≈ 2.6°. The parameters of the spin Hamiltonian, which characterize the prolate (g = 2.355, g = 2.077, A = 116 Oe, A tp = 12 Oe) and oblate (g = 2.018, g = 2.246, A = 75 Oe, A = 44 Oe) octahedra, have been determined. At temperatures above 560 K, the static Jahn-Teller effect transforms into the dynamic effect and the spectrum of the magnetic resonance becomes isotropic with g = 2.116 (the experimental frequency corresponds to the X band).  相似文献

Summary  Iron molybdenum phosphate glasses [xMoO3 · (0.6 -x)P2O5 · 0.4Li2O] :yFe2O3 with 0 ≤x ≤ 0.6 andy = 0.03 (mol%) prepared in ambient atmosphere using the melt quenching technique were studied by using DC electrical conductivity,57Fe M?ssbauer and infrared spectroscopies. The DC conductivity depends on the MoO3 concentrationx. It was observed that, with increasingx, the ratio Fe2+ /(Fe3+ + Fe2+) and the DC conductivity increase. Infrared spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction indicate that a Li2 MoO4 crystalline phase is present for high MoO3 content samples (x = 0.5, 0.6). The significance of heterovalent, substitutional disorder for the distribution of charge carriers in La2−x Sr x CuO4 has been investigated. Disorder is shown to cause strong variations of binding energies of the ions ranging to some eV for Sr contentsx=0.1. Balancing the energy for a hole transport, Cu3++O2−→Cu2++O, and taking binding energy variations into account, the process is realized to become possible without consuming energy for a subset Θ for allx Cu3+ in one formula unit of La2−x Sr x CuO4. The functions Θ(x) are presented for hole transports to apex and in-plane oxygens, respectively. The delocalization of charge carriers is interpreted to be caused by valency disorder on metal lattice sites.  相似文献

Effect of incorporation of Sb in place of Bi in the bismuth cuprate superconductors has been examined. The nominal compositions studied are MCa1·5Sr1·5Cu2O8+δ and MCa2Sr2Cu3O10+δ, whereM=Bi2−x Sb x or Bi1·5−x Sb x Pb0·5. Different preparative routes such as the ceramic method, the matrix route as well as the melt route were employed to prepare the materials. No indication of either Sb entering the lattice or enhancement ofT c is noted from resistivity, magnetic susceptibility and microwave absorption measurements. Using the nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray and electromagnetic methods we investigated structure and properties of the single- and polycrystalline manganous and manganese-zinc ferrites: MnFe2O4, Mn0.8Zn0.2Fe2O4, Mn0.6−xCuxZn0.3Fe2.1O4 (0 ≤x ≤ 0.3). The real structure of the manganous and manganese-zinc ferrites is found to contain simultaneously vacancies in cationic and anionic sublattices. The analysis of the NMR spectra of55Mn,57Fe,63,65Cu and67Zn ions allowed us to find the magnetic and valence states of all ions and their distribution in the real spinel structure. It was shown that the Fe3+ paramagnetic ions, Zn2+ diamagnetic ions and cationic vacancies in tetrapositions are distributed statistically. The Mn3+ and Cu2+ Jahn-Teller ions and presumably Fe2+ in octahedral positions are distributed nonstatistically forming cluster-type mesoscopic inhomogeneities. The correlation between distribution of ions and vacancies in the real structure of manganese-zinc ferrites and their functional electromagnetic properties was found.  相似文献

The electron paramagnetic resonance study of Cu2+-doped bis(l-asparaginato)Mg(II) is performed at room temperature. Two magnetically non-equivalent sites for Cu2+ are observed. The spin-Hamiltonian parameters evaluated by fitting spectra to the crystalline field of rhombic symmetry are as follows: g x  = 2.0420 ± 0.0002, g y  = 2.0808 ± 0.0002, g z  = 2.3600 ± 0.0002, A x  = (99 ± 2) × 10−4 cm−1, A y  = (108 ± 2) × 10−4 cm−1, A z  = (140 ± 2) × 10−4 cm−1. The ground state wave function of Cu2+ is also determined. The g-anisotropy is estimated and compared with the experimental value. Further, with the help of optical study the nature of bonding of a metal ion with different ligands in the complex is discussed.  相似文献

To investigate the influence of cation mobility variation due to the mixed glass former effect, 0.45Li2O-(0.55 − x) P2O5x B2O3 glasses (0 ≤; x ≤ 0.55) are studied keeping the molar ratio of Li2O/(P2O5 + B2O3) constant. Addition of B2O3 into lithium phosphate glasses increases the glass transition temperature (T g) and number density, decreases the molar volume, and generally renders the glasses more fragile. The glass system has been characterised experimentally by XRD, XPS and impedance studies and studied computationally by constant volume molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and bond valence (BV) method to identify the structural variation with increasing the B2O3 content, its consequence for Li+ ion mobility, as well as the distribution of bridging and non-bridging oxygen atoms. These studies indicate the increase of P-O-B bonds (up to Y = [B2O3]/([B2O3] + [P2O5]) ≈ 0.5 and B-O-B bonds, as well as the decrease of P-O-P bonds and non-bridging oxygens (NBOs) with rising B2O3 content. The system with Y ≈ 0.5 exhibits maximum ionic conductivity, 1.0 × 10−7 S cm−1, with activation energy 0.63 V. Findings are rationalised by a model of structure evolution with varying B2O3 content Y and an empirical model quantifying the effect of the various structural building blocks on the ionic conductivity in this mixed glass former system.  相似文献

Vanadium bronzes NayV2O5 are synthesized via the hydrothermal route from a mixture of V2O5 and NaOH in the presence of a reducing agent. Fine crystalline powders made of needle-like particles are obtained that exhibit the layered structure typical of the α′-NayV2O5 phase (y≈1). Electron delocalization arises from a hopping process of unpaired electrons between V4+ and V5+. Alkaline cations are intercalated between the oxide layers and discharge curves show that up to one Li+ ion per vanadium can be reversibly inserted between the [V2O5] layers in the 3.3–0.5 V range. Chemical diffusion coefficient of Li ions in LixNaV2O5 is found to be dependent on the degree of intercalation. D+ varies from 1×10−10 up to 5×10−10 cm2/s for 0≤×≤2. The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of mixed crystals (BaF2)1 − x (LaF3) x (x = 0, 0.001, 0.002, 0.005, 0.010, 0.020) doped with Ce3+ ions (0.1%) are investigated at a frequency v ≈ 9.5 GHz in magnetic fields up to 1.45 T at temperatures T = 10 and 15 K. The EPR spectrum of “pure” barium fluoride BaF2 (x = 0) is characterized by a single Ce3+-F center with tetragonal symmetry (i.e., the O center with g = 2.601 and g = 1.555). For a lanthanum trifluoride concentration x ≠ 0, the spectrum exhibits new lines due to the presence of the clusters containing Ce3+ and La3+ ions. The intensity of EPR signals from the O centers decreases rapidly as the lanthanum trifluoride concentration x increases. The lines attributed to a paramagnetic center with tetragonal symmetry and strongly anisotropic g factors (i.e., the K center with g = 0.725 and g = 2.52) are separated in the complex EPR spectrum with the use of the angular dependence of the EPR signal intensity measured for the samples with x ≥ 0.002. Doubly substitution of vanadium by Cu and Co in the limit of 10% in Bi4V2O11, has led to the formation of the Bi4V1.8Cu0.2−xCoxO10.7 solid solution. X-ray diffraction shows that all the compositions present a tetragonal symmetry. The thermal analysis has revealed that the polymorph γ' phase, which is formed by a partial ordering of oxygen ions in the γ high temperature form, is stabilized at room temperature. The influence of sintering temperature on the microstructure of the samples was investigated by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The ceramics sintered at 820 °C for more than 3 hours present micro-craks. The evolution of the electrical conductivity with temperature and the degree of substitution has been investigated by impedance spectroscopy. The sample with x=0.1 presents the highest value of the conductivity ≈4.6×10−2 S·cm−1 at 600 °C.  相似文献

The results of magnetic studies on xCuO · (1 ? x) [2B2O3 · PbO] glasses with 0 ? x ? 50 mol.%, are reported. These results evidenced that the copper ions, in this glass system, are in Cu2+ and Cu+ valence states. From Curie constant is determined the amount of the copper ions in bivalent state. For glasses with x > 5 mol.% CuO, an antiferromagnetic behaviour is evidenced.  相似文献

Lithium fast ion conductors of the composition Li0.3La2/3Ti0.7P0.3−xVxO3.3 (LTV) based on mixtures of Li3xLa2/3−xTiO3 and LaPO4 were prepared by solid state reaction at high temperature (≈ 1300 °C). AC impedance measurements indicate total conductivities of about 1 × 10−4 Scm−1 for compositions of x=0∼0.3 at room temperature with an activation energy of ≈18 kJ·mol−1 in the temperature range from 30 to 400 °C. X-ray powder diffraction patterns showed that the LTV system is composed of Li3xLa2/3−xTiO3 perovskite solid solution and LaP1−xVxO4 solid solution.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study of Cu2+-doped sodium zinc sulfate tetrahydrate is done at liquid nitrogen temperature. Two magnetically equivalent sites for Cu2+ are observed. The spin-Hamiltonian parameters determined by fitting the EPR spectra to the rhombic-symmetry crystalline field are g x  = 2.2356, g y  = 2.0267, g z  = 2.3472, A x  = 27 × 10−4 cm−1, A y  = 54 × 10−4 cm−1and A z  = 88 × 10−4 cm−1. The ground state wave function is also determined. The g-anisotropy is evaluated and compared with the experimental value. Crystals of lutetium gadolinium garnet solid solutions (Lu1 − x Gd x )Al5O12 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.6) doped with Ce3+ and Pr3+ ions have been prepared by the horizontal directional crystallization method, and their optical and luminescence properties have been investigated. It has been established that the introduction of gadolinium into the lutetium garnet lattice leads to a decrease in the antisite luminescence (LuAl centers) in the UV spectral range and to sensitization of the Ce3+ ion luminescence. By contrast, the presence of gadolinium results in the quenching of the Pr3+ luminescence due to the nonradiative excitation transfer from Pr3+ ions to Gd3+ ions.  相似文献

Glasses of the xMnO·(100−x)[yP2O5·CaO] systems, with y=1, 2, 3 and 0≤x≤50 mol% MnO were prepared and investigated by means of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The local order in diamagnetic vitreous matrices could be revealed by the Mn2+ paramagnetic ions used in EPR experiments. In each systems corresponding to a particular value of y, the effect of increasing the MnO content in the samples was investigated. The structure of our glasses shows an evolution depending of MnO content from structural units involving Mn2+ ions in well defined vicinities, to structural units containing clustered manganese ions. The changes of the linewidth and the intensity of the resonance line centered at geff≈2.0 when the content of manganese ions are increasing revealed this evolution.  相似文献
