液晶的转动粘质度是液晶用于显示和通讯的重要物理参量.本文设计开发了基于微机的液晶参数测试光学系统,在该系统上研究了液晶的转动粘质系数的测试原理与方法:通过测试液晶盒在偏置电压下相位驰预时间,推导出转动粘质系数的值.测试Merck公司的E7液晶的转动粘质系数随温度变化的曲线,进行了理论拟合,测试结果与理论符合得很好.通过分析另一系统对液晶介质常数随温度变化的曲线的测试结果,验证了该测试原理与方法的正确性.该测试方法具有简单、自动化的特点.  相似文献

利用全漏光导波技术,测量负性向列相液晶材料MS-N01300-000的展曲和弯曲挠曲电系数之和.根据液晶弹性和多层光学理论得到同一电压下不同挠曲电系数的反射率随内角(入射到液晶层角度)的理论变化曲线.实验中,将液晶材料灌注到混合排列向列相液晶盒中,在液晶盒上分别加交流电和直流电,采用全漏光导波技术得到反映液晶指向矢分布的液晶波导反射率随内角变化曲线.实验发现,由于液晶挠曲电作用,同一电压值下反射率随内角变化曲线发生微小移动.对比理论与实验曲线,由曲线移动距离得到MS-N01300-000液晶材料展曲和弯曲挠曲电系数之和为2.5×10-11 C/m.  相似文献

 理论研究了激光光束经过湍流大气后闪烁系数的变化规律,以ARM7的嵌入式系统构建数据采集模块,在采集激光光强因为大气湍流影响而变化的数据的基础上对存储的数据使用闪烁系数数学模型进行运算,运算结果通过网络传输,由PC端的界面显示变化曲线,从而了构造一个可以感测大气湍流的远程探测系统。用转动的相位板模拟湍流大气,利用所开发的测试系统测量激光光束通过湍流大气后的闪烁系数。实验结果显示高斯光束在湍流大气中的闪烁系数随传输距离的增加而增大,与理论模拟结果基本相符。由此可见该系统工作可靠稳定,可实时测量激光光束经过湍流大气的闪烁系数。  相似文献

提出了一种可用于密集波分复用系统中的新型可调谐滤光片的设计方法,该设计利用了液晶的双折射现象,以及液晶盒内法-珀效应,从理论上分析了器件的光谱特性,计算了液晶分子的折射率调制和其分子转动角度的关系.并对器件进行了性能测试.实验结果与理论吻合较好.  相似文献

利用旋光理论模拟了一种用于螺状相液晶显示器(CH-LCD)的螺状相液晶的旋光率与入射波长、螺距的关系,并从理论上给予定量分析;用磁光调制倍频法测试了这种螺状相液晶旋光率随温度变化的规律,并利用所测的旋光率的值计算得出这种螺状相液晶的螺距、折射率、及双折射率随温度变化的规律;对模拟结果给予了实验验证。  相似文献

石英晶体有着较大的温度膨胀系数,因而温度变化会引起石英晶体制作器件的使用误差.为了减小这种误差,研究了二元复合式补偿器相位延迟随温度的变化情况.结果表明,温度变化越大,波片级数越大,补偿相位受到的影响也越大;理论计算表明,补偿相位在一定的温度范围内与起偏镜转动的角度成线性关系.实验结果与理论结果相一致.该研究结果对于复合补偿器在不同环境下的正确使用有一定的参考价值.  相似文献

理论和实验研究了液体粘滞系数对声低通滤波光纤水听器声压灵敏度频响特性的影响.为了更好地描述声低通滤波光纤水听器的声学特性,在已建立的低频集中参量模型中,引入了一个用于描述系统机械损耗的参量,即机械声阻,从而得到了改进后的声压传递函数表达式.仿真结果表明,粘滞系数主要影响共振频率附近的响应,随着粘滞系数的增加,共振频率基本不变,共振峰值迅速下降.利用蓖麻油粘滞系数随温度变化较大的特性,在充油驻波罐中测试了不同温度下声低通滤波光纤水听器的声压灵敏度频响,结果与仿真曲线基本吻合,较好地验证了理论分析的正确性.  相似文献

A direct method for the computation of the twist Frank elasticity coefficient of a nematic liquid crystal is presented. The method, suitable for numerical calculations, is tested and applied in Monte Carlo simulations for a model system. 提高液晶波前校正器的响应速度是增加液晶自适应光学系统校正带宽的关键, 而研究设计低旋转黏度的液晶分子是提高液晶波前校正器响应速度的根本方法. 利用原子水平上的分子动力学方法获得了目标分子的液相、向列相以及近晶相, 给出了理论计算液晶分子序参数以及旋转黏度的方法. 与此同时, 结合实验方法, 提出利用混合液晶分子动力学模拟来比较液晶分子旋转黏度的大小, 通过多次模拟、多起始点数据处理最大限度消除了因边界尺寸效应带来的数据波动, 最后给出了两种高性能液晶分子的具体比较结果. 这种分子动力学模拟方法能够探查分子结构细微差别对液晶相态以及旋转黏度的影响, 为设计低旋转黏度的液晶分子提供了理论支持, 必将为快速响应液晶材料的设计提供帮助.  相似文献

We derive expressions for the order parameter dependence of the viscosity coefficients of a biaxial nematic liquid crystal by comparing its dissipation function expressed in terms of directors with that expressed in terms of order tensors. The results enable us to identify the dominant flow viscosity coefficients and to compare their temperature variation according to their dependence on the dominant scalar order parameters. By considering different orientations of an external field, we identify three characteristic switching times corresponding to three rotational viscosities, and we estimate the ratio of the switching times of the primary and the secondary directors.  相似文献

The reorientational order parameter dependent complex linear susceptibilities are derived based on the angular averaged linear response theory of the molecular polarizability, which includes the Vuks type equations of anisotropic refractive indices and absorbances. The polar angular absorbance at 633 nm wavelength is measured as a function of the concentration of fullerene C60 in E7 nematic liquid crystals (NLCs), from which the order parameter is deduced. It is shown that the order parameter has a linear dependence of dopant concentration. We also present a simple optical transmission method by adopting the closed-aperture Z-scan geometry under the influence of switching on and off the dc electric field to determine the optical relaxation time and the rotational viscosity coefficient of C60 doped E7 NLC. The experimental results are pretty well explained by using the Osipov-Terentjev theory of the rotational viscosity with the measured order parameter.  相似文献

The effective rotational viscosity and polar anchoring coefficient of a nematic liquid crystal were determined using electro-optical response by changing the frequency of the electric field in the kilohertz range. Both quantities monotonically decreased with an increase in the frequency and converged to a certain value at several tens of kilohertz. The effective rotational viscosity changes more than the order of magnitude in experimental range. On the other hand, the effective value of anchoring coefficient changes several times. We tried to explain the trends with the effect of an electric field induced by the motion of ionic impurity in liquid crystal.  相似文献

Based on dynamic equations of a heterogeneous elastic medium which take into account rotational degrees of freedom of microstructure particles, a simplified mathematical model was constructed to describe the wave motions of a nematic liquid crystal under weak mechanical and temperature perturbations. It is shown that in the medium under plane deformation, the tangential stress obeys the Klein-Gordon equation of oscillatory particle rotation. Consideration is given to the possibility of initiating rotational waves in a nematic liquid crystal, which change its optical properties, due to heat sources acting at its boundary.  相似文献

The method of determination of the bulk values of the rotational viscosity coefficient of the smectic c-director in chiral smectic liquid crystals with a helical structure is described. The measurements were performed using optical detection in the small deformation limit. In contrast to the usual methods, the initial deformation of the helix (caused by strong surface interactions) was avoided by using homeotropic aligned thick samples. The coefficient was measured in 4-methylbutyloxy phenyl-4-octyloxy-benzoate (C8) in the presence of laminar flow. The critical temperature dependence of the measured coefficient was found. The relation between the measured coefficient and the smectic C order parameter is shown.  相似文献

We study spontaneous pattern formation in a glass-forming nematic liquid crystal during the magnetically induced dynamic Fréedericksz transition. Pattern growth rates and wavelengths as functions of the magnetic field are extracted from optical transmission textures of thin planar cells. The characteristics of the observed stripe pattern can be related to viscoelastic parameters of the nematic by means of a linear stability analysis of director fluctuation modes. The viscous properties of the material allow to vary the time scales of the experiment with temperature by orders of magnitude, leaving the spatial structure of the pattern essentially unchanged. We find that the ratios of shear and rotational viscosity coefficients relevant for the pattern wavelength selection remain constant in the temperature range investigated, whereas their absolute values change by almost two orders. The amplification of the emission of a microlaser based on a cholesteric liquid crystal by means of a uniformly oriented layer of a laser-dye-doped nematic liquid crystal is demonstrated. The nematic liquid crystal is characterized by the anisotropy of optical properties, including the amplification coefficient, which opens the possibility of creating amplifiers controlled by a low electric field.  相似文献

We report the observation and study of optical bistability in the power transmitted by a twisted nematic liquid crystal bounded by crossed dichroic polarizers. A detailed study of the dependence of the phenomenon on the sample initial temperature has been performed. The effect is a good test for a simple theoretical model which describes the isotropic droplet formation in a nematic sample under laser illumination. A good agreement is found between experimental results and theoretical predictions. Applications of the effect to realize temperature sensors are envisaged.  相似文献
