ForA any subset of () (the bounded operators on a Hilbert space) containing the unit, and and restrictions of states on () toA, ent A (|)—the entropy of relative to given the information inA—is defined and given an axiomatic characterisation. It is compared with ent A A (|)—the relative entropy introduced by Umegaki and generalised by various authors—which is defined only forA an algebra. It is proved that ent and ent S agree on pairs of normal states on an injective von Neumann algebra. It is also proved that ent always has all the most important properties known for ent S : monotonicity, concavity,w* upper semicontinuity, etc.  相似文献

Under weak technical assumptions on a net of local von Neumann algebras {A(O)} in a Hilbert space , which are fulfilled by any net associated to a quantum field satisfying the standard axioms, it is shown that for every vector state in there exist observables localized in complementary wedge-shaped regions in Minkowski space-time that maximally violate Bell's inequalities in the state . If, in addition, the algebras corresponding to wedge-shaped regions are injective (which is known to be true in many examples), then the maximal violation occurs in any state on () given by a density matrix.  相似文献

Let exp(-tA) and exp(-tB) be C 0 contraction semigroups on both K and , where K is a Hilbert space and is a reflexive Banach space such that the linear space K is dense both in K and . Let * be a dual pair of Banach spaces. In this paper we study some properties of infinitesimal operators of these semigroups. We show that under suitable assumptions there is some connection between the form-sum A+B and a closure of A 1+B1, where -A 1 is an infinitesimal operator of C 0 contraction semigroup exp(-tA 1) which is the extension by continuity on of C 0 contraction semigroup exp(-tA) Kin . In particular we give some criterion of an m-accretive closability A 1+B 1 which may be applied for example to the Schrödinger operators acting in suitable L p-spaces. Also this criterion together with properties of semigroups under consideration results in the establishment of the Lie-Trotter formulae.  相似文献

We define and analyze Lipschitz spaces ,q associated with a representationxgV(x) of the Lie algebrag by closed operatorsV(x) on the Banach space together with a heat semigroupS. Conditions onA and L are found that exclude (A,E A ) from having a hidden theory via L. The Hardy's corrections to the Maradudin's lattice part of the total heat current operator are shown to yield no corrections to the hopping thermoelectric coefficients of amorphous solids and glasses in the lowest (minus-first) order of the electron phonon coupling constant. But even after including the magnetic field (0, 0,), the lowest non-zero (zeroth order) contributions to the Peltier and Seebeck tensors are shown to be diagonal, yielding thus no contribution to the Nernst and Ettingshaussen coefficients. Therefore, the Hardy corrections, which might yield the next (first) order contributions to these coefficients, appear to be crucial for treating the thermomagnetic phenomena in amorphous and glassy materials.  相似文献

There are series solutions for characteristic boundary value problems for fields on black hole backgrounds that converge when the data are given on = +, or on = +, but may not converge when the data are given on , or on + +. We specialize to oscillatory data of frequency and calculate approximate reflection and transmission coefficientsR() andT(), using a field generated by data on = +, and again, using a field generated by data on . The first calculation gives qualitatively good results at all frequencies at each order of approximation, and quantitatively better results at higher orders of approximation; the second calculation, using the series which may not converge, gives bad results except at very high frequencies. Thus for the physically unnatural case of a field that vanishes on and goes toe iv on + we have a series that is convergent, and uniformly so with respect to frequency, while for the natural case of a field that vanishes on and goes toe iv on we are limited to high frequencies. It is argued that a frequency-dependent renormalization of a series of the first type provides an approximation scheme that is convergent, and uniformly so with respect to frequency, for the physically important problems of the second type. The difficulties posed by the -dependent renormalization for the study of incident pulses are discussed.  相似文献

ParisA of local quantum field theories are studied, whereA is a chiral conformal quantum field theory and is a local extension, either chiral or two-dimensional. The local correlation functions of fields from have an expansion with respect toA into conformal blocks, which are non-local in general. Two methods of computing characteristic invariant ratios of structure constants in these expansions are compared: (a) by constructing the monodromy representation of the braid group in the space of solutions of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov differential equation, and (b) by an analysis of the local subfactors associated with the extension with methods from operator algebra (Jones theory) and algebraic quantum field theory. Both approaches apply also to the reverse problem: the characterization and (in principle) classification of local extensions of a given theory.  相似文献

There is a natural connection and parallel transport on the Hilbert tensor product (or, equivalently, the space of Hilbert-Schmidt operators), the elements of which represent density matrices in up to unitary operators. We postulate a time evolution equation, which leads to this connection after extracting a proper dynamical unitary phase. We present analytical and numerical results for the level density of a certain class of random non-Hermitian matrices =H+i. The conservative partH belongs to the Gaussian orthogonal ensemble while the damping piece is quadratic in Gaussian random numbers and may describe the decay of resonances through various channels. In the limit of a large matrix dimension the level density assumes a surprisingly simple dependence on the relative strength of the damping and the number of channels. Moreover, we identify situations with cubic repulsion between the complex eigenvalues of , to within a logarithmic correction.  相似文献

A system of coordinates on a set of selfdual lattices in a two-dimensionalp-adic symplectic space (V,) is suggested. A unitary irreducible representation of the Heisenberg group of the space (V,) depending on a lattice (an analogue of the Cartier representation) is constructed and its properties are investigated. By the use of such representations for three different lattices one defines the Maslov index =(1,2,3) of a triple of lattices. Learning of patterns by neural networks obeying general rules of sensory transduction and of converting membrane potentials to spiking frequencies is considered. Any finite number of cellsA can sample a pattern playing on any finite number of cells without causing irrevocable sampling bias ifA = orA =. Total energy transfer from inputs ofA to outputs of depends on the entropy of the input distribution. Pattern completion on recall trials can occur without destroying perfect memory even ifA = by choosing the signal thresholds sufficiently large. We deal with quantum field theory in the restriction to external Bose fields. Let be the Dirac equation. We prove that a nonquantized Bose field is a functional of the Dirac field whenever this is canonical. Performing the verification for := m = const, which yields the free Dirac field, we also prepare the tedious verifications for all which are nonquantized and static.
