We discuss the Chiral Magnetic Effect from the quantum theory of measurements point of view for non-stationary measurements. The effect of anisotropy for fluctuations of electric currents in a magnetic field is addressed. It is shown that anisotropy caused by nonzero axial chemical potential is indistinguishable in this framework from anisotropy caused by finite measurement time or finite lifetime of the magnetic field, and in all cases it is related to abelian triangle anomaly. Possible P-odd effects in central heavy-ion collisions (where the Chiral Magnetic Effect is absent) are discussed in this context. A theory of interdigital transducer is presented that accounts for the surface acoustic wave diffraction. It is formulated with help of the Blotekjaer, Ingebrigtsen, and Skeie expansion method used earlier in the plane-wave theory. Now, the electric field is applied to the breaks in the strips making parts of them polarized with different potentials. This way the finite aperture width transducers are modeled residing within an infinite system of periodic strips. Closed expressions are derived for system working below the Bragg condition. The theory is open for further development accounting for elastic strips, pseudo surface, leaky or even surface skimming bulk waves, for any frequency range, including Bragg reflection exploited in surface wave resonators.  相似文献

Existing methods for Green's function extraction give the Green's function from the correlation of field fluctuations recorded at those points. In this work it is shown that the Green's function for acoustic waves can be retrieved from measurements of the integrated energy flux through a closed surface taken from three experiments where two time-harmonic sources first operate separately, and then simultaneously. This makes it possible to infer the Green's function in acoustics from measurements of the energy flux through an arbitrary closed surface surrounding both sources. The theory is also applicable to quantum mechanics where the Green's function can be retrieved from measurement of the flux of scattered particles through a closed surface.  相似文献

It is well known that many porous media such as rocks have heterogeneities at nearly all scales. We applied Biot's poroelastic theory to study the propagation of elastic waves in isotropic porous matrix with spherical inclusions. It is assumed that the heterogeneity dimension exceeds significantly the pore size. Modified boundary conditions on poroelastic interface are used to take into account the surface tension effects. The effective wavenumber is calculated using the Waterman and Truell multiple scattering theory, which relates the effective wave number to the amplitude of the wave field scattered by a single inclusion. The calculations were performed for a medium containing fluid-filled cavities or porous inclusions contrasting in saturating fluid elastic properties. The results obtained show that when we consider elastic wave propagation in poroelastic medium containing soft inclusions, it is necessary to take into account the capillary pressure. The influence of the surface tension depends on the diffraction parameter and it is a maximum in the low frequency range.  相似文献

The distorted Born approximation is used to calculate the bistatic scattering coefficients from a layer of sparsely distributed discrete dielectric scatterers over a random interface. After specializing to the backscatter case, the scattering coefficient is determined as a sum of direct, direct reflected and interface scatter contributions. The direct reflected term contains contributions from the average interface and the interface fluctuations. These direct reflected terms include both incoherent and coherent or enhancement terms. The results are applied to backscattering from a mature hemlock forest over a roughened ground. The model results show that the direct reflected surface fluctuation terms give the dominant contribution to backscatter at P band and are equal in magnitude to the volume scatter at L band. Numerous problems of current concern involve the designs of aerodynamic systems which either travel at high speeds or contain structural elements which are excited by moving pressure fluctuations. In a number of recent papers responses of dynamic systems to random excitation have been considered. The appropriate theory for calculating the mean square response of linear systems to both stationary and non-stationary random excitation is well known [1–7]. In this paper, the mean square response of a finite cable to non-stationary random excitation is considered. The non-stationary random excitation is of the form s(t) = e(t)α(t), where e(t) is a well defined envelope function and α (t) is the Guassian, narrow band, stationary part of the excitation which has zero mean. Both the unit step and rectangular step functions are used for the envelope function, and both white noise and noise with an exponentially decaying harmonic correlation function are used to prescribe the statistical property of the excitation. The results obtained are shown to be a complete expression for the mean square response when checked for accuracy by reduction to expressions previously obtained by Lyon [4]. It is felt that these results will aid the design of both linear and two-dimensional aerodynamic systems excited by random pressure fluctuations.  相似文献

The semi-classical dipole-dipole interaction law previously derived from the classical image force theory is rederived from a model hamutonian in which the dipole-dipole interaction between two adatoms is mediated by surface plasmons. From this approach it emerges that the semi-classical law is only valid in the adiabatic limit where image charges can quasi-instantaneously follow the charge fluctuations on the adsorbate. Connection with the second order perturbation theory of dipole-dipole interaction between two adatoms is also analysed.  相似文献

将正确的光纤中的正交关系应用于微扰耦合模理论得到了光纤中的微扰耦合模方程;并将其应用于光纤布拉格光栅,得到了一种新耦合模方程。该方程中作为标志性特性的耦合系数与其它理论中的耦合系数都不相同。讨论了方程的解,得到了峰值反射率与布拉格波长、光栅长度之间的简单关系式。用光纤布拉格光栅进行了实验,理论和实验结果符合得很好。  相似文献

A set of quantum-mechanical coupled Langevin equations with space-dependent variables is derived for the 1-st Stokes and Anti-Stokes, and laser field in a fluctuating two-level molecular medium pumped by an external laser source with continuous spectrum. These fundamental equations are exact within the quasi-monochromatic approximation, and applicable to wider problems which contain non-stationary cases for inhomogeneous and homogeneous broadening with continuous spectrum, spatial effects (propagation and depletion of laser field), and fluctuations. After its formulation, this theory was applied to a one-dimensional typical example for the stimulated Stokes effect. By means of quasilinearization of the fundamental equation, this theory gives not only the power spectrum of amplitude fluctuations and the mean square of phase diffusion, but also a second threshold condition for a hard mode instability as in the laser medium, and also some aspects as phase-transition-like phenomena of the stimulated Raman effect. Last, it was shown that a hard mode instability for the backward Stokes arises at a second threshold lower than that of the forward Stokes.  相似文献

提出了一种利用光纤光栅传感器研究压电陶瓷特性的新方法.该方法采用非平衡Michelson扫描干涉仪对光纤光栅传感信号进行相位解调,通过观测波长漂移引起的相移,从而获得压电陶瓷的位移量与所加电压间的关系.实验分析了迟滞特性和蠕变现象,得到了压电陶瓷的电压-位移特性曲线以及蠕变特性曲线.实验表明,光源功率的波动对压电陶瓷迟滞特性不能造成影响且压电陶瓷的蠕变特性与电压方向无关.  相似文献

Light scattering is an example of driven noise insofar as it is produced by fluctuations of a transport coefficient. It is shown that this aspect which is well known from the phenomenological theory of scattering can also be applied to a microscopic treatment where it leads in a straightforward manner to the widely used third-order perturbation formula (Loudon, 1963). Besides reproduction of known results from a unified point of view the treatment proposed here also opens easy access to more general problems such as e.g. partial coherence in light scattering.  相似文献

On the basis of the electromagnetic field mode matching theory, the coupling efficiency ratio from spatial light to Bragg fiber is analyzed, which shows that the coupling efficiency ratio is related to the radius of focused facular, the core radius of Bragg fiber and wave number of the core. By optimizing the value of such parameters appropriately, the Bragg fiber coupling efficiency ratio can be improved. It is also important for the analysis of the coupling efficiency of Bragg fiber, which can be applied to the free optical communication system and laser radar system.  相似文献

We have examined the theory of the diffuse scattering of electrons from the surface of ferromagnets within a simple model, for the case where the spins in the outer surface layer undergo magnetic surface reconstruction, e.e. the magnetic unit cell in the surface is larger than in the bulk. We comment on both the magnetic field and temperature dependence to be expected. Critical scattering near the half order Bragg peaks is predicted when the canting angle ?0 of the surface spins is driven to zero, either by application of a magnetic field, or by raising the temperature.  相似文献

We measure the axial momentum distribution of Bose-Einstein condensates with an aspect ratio of 152 using Bragg spectroscopy. We observe the Lorentzian momentum distribution characteristic of one-dimensional phase fluctuations. The temperature dependence of the width of this distribution provides a quantitative test of quasicondensate theory. In addition, we observe a condensate length consistent with the suppression of density fluctuations, even when phase fluctuations are large.  相似文献

Far-field weak scattering theory is applied to the case of high-frequency broad-bandwidth acoustic scattering from a thermally generated buoyant plume in a controlled laboratory environment. To first order, the dominant scattering mechanism is thermally driven sound-speed variations that are related to temperature deviations from ambient. As a result, the received complex acoustic scattering is a measure of the one-component three-dimensional Fourier transform of the temperature difference field measured at the Bragg wave number. The Bragg wave number vector is the difference between the scattered and incident wave vectors. Solving for its magnitude yields the Bragg scattering condition; this is the Fourier component of the plume variability that produces scattering. Results are presented for multistatic scattering from unstable and turbulent plumes using a parallel scattering geometry. The data justify application of the far-field weak scattering theory to the present case of a thermal plume. As a consequence, quantitative results on medium variability can be inferred using high-frequency broad-bandwidth acoustic scattering. Particular attention is given to the role of anisotropy of the variability of the scattering field in determining the validity of far-field Bragg scattering.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of normalized LEED intensity data was obtained on well-ordered and chemically pure xenon single crystal (111) surfaces. It is concluded that the strongly kinematic character of the spectra makes it possible to obtain a useful and unambiguous evaluation of the surface Debeye-Waller factor. A tentative analysis of the surface Debeye temperatures for two well-defined Bragg peaks is compared to that based on a first principle calculation where specific surface effects are included.  相似文献

The theory of homogeneous nucleation is developed for a model nonlinear bistable chemical reaction driven far from equilibrium (trimolecular Schlögl model). The theory is restricted to the vicinity of the stable/unstable transition, where the nucleation barrier is small but nonvanishing. The nucleation rates are derived for two types of fluctuations: first, fluctuations due to a homogeneous external white noise source, and second, internal chemical fluctuations, described by a reastion-diffusion multivariate master equation. In the white noise case, a Landau-Ginzburg potential can be defined, and the standard nucleation formalism can be applied; this is not true for the internal case and a new result is used. The inhomogeneous chemical fluctuations, due to the coupling between the nonlinear reaction and diffusion, are shown to have an influence on the nucleation rate. Quantitative conditions are also given to evaluate the possibility of homogeneous nucleation in nonlinear chemical systems.  相似文献

Anisotropic self-diffraction (ASD) under Bragg mismatch has been studied. We derive a solution that can describe well the diffraction characteristics of the anisotropic self-diffraction under Bragg mismatch. The solution is useful for estimating the Bragg constraint when the ASD is applied to optical information processing. Both the theory and the experiment are presented. In this paper we deal with one-dimensional wave propagation in a material that reacts differently to compression and tension. A possible approach to describe such materials is the heteromodular (or bimodular) elastic theory: a piece-wise linear theory with different elastic moduli depending on the stress state. We consider a one-dimensional problem concerning non-stationary wave propagation in a semi-infinite heteromodular elastic body subjected to a suddenly applied harmonic loading. For a medium where the difference of elastic moduli for tension and compression is a small quantity, we obtain an approximate analytical solution of the problem using an asymptotic technique. Then we compare the asymptotic solutions obtained with numerical results and demonstrate a good agreement between them. The spectral characteristics of the constructed solution can be compared with experimental data obtained from dynamical experiments with materials displaying pronounced heteromodular properties.  相似文献
