Using the exact Lemaitre?CBondi?CTolman solution with a non-vanishing cosmological constant ??, we investigate how the presence of a local spherically symmetric inhomogeneity can affect apparent cosmological observables, such as the deceleration parameter or the effective equation of state of dark energy (DE), derived from the luminosity distance under the assumption that the real space-time is exactly homogeneous and isotropic. The presence of a local underdensity is found to produce apparent phantom behavior of DE, while a locally overdense region leads to apparent quintessence behavior. We consider relatively small large scale inhomogeneities which today are not linear and could be seeded by primordial curvature perturbations compatible with CMB bounds. Our study shows how observations in an inhomogeneous ??CDM universe with initial conditions compatible with the inflationary beginning, if interpreted under the wrong assumption of homogeneity, can lead to the wrong conclusion about the presence of ??fake?? evolving dark energy instead of ??.  相似文献

Bulk antisymmetric tensor fields of different ranks have been studied in the context of a generalized Randall–Sundrum model with a non-vanishing induced cosmological constant on the visible brane. It is shown that instead of the usual exponential suppression of the couplings of the zero modes of these bulk fields with the brane fermions in the original Randall–Sundrum model, here the couplings are proportional to the brane cosmological constant. Thus in an era of large cosmological constant these fields have significant role in physical phenomena because of their enhanced couplings with the visible brane fermions.  相似文献

We consider two alternative dark-energy models: a Lorentz-invariance preserving model with a non-minimally coupled scalar field and a Lorentz-invariance violating model with a minimally coupled scalar field. We study accelerated expansion and the dynamics of the equation of state parameter in these scenarios. While a minimally coupled scalar field does not have the capability to be a successful dark-energy candidate with line crossing of the cosmological constant, a non-minimally coupled scalar field in the presence of Lorentz invariance or a minimally coupled scalar field with Lorentz-invariance violation have this capability. In the latter case, accelerated expansion and phantom divide line crossing are the results of the interactive nature of this Lorentz-violating scenario.  相似文献

We present a Chaplygin gas Friedmann–Robertson–Walker quantum cosmological model. In this work the Schutz’s variational formalism is applied with positive, negative, and zero constant spatial curvature. In this approach the notion of time can be recovered. These give rise to Schrödinger–Wheeler–DeWitt equation for the scale factor. We use the eigenfunctions in order to construct wave packets for each case. We study the time dependent behavior of the expectation value of the scale factor, using the many-worlds interpretations of quantum mechanics.  相似文献

Let Σ be a compact three-manifold with non-positive Yamabe invariant. We prove that in any long time constant mean curvature Einstein flow over Σ, having bounded C α space–time curvature at the cosmological scale, the reduced volume [g(k) is the evolving spatial three-metric and k the mean curvature] decays monotonically towards the volume value of the geometrization in which the cosmologically normalized flow decays. In more basic terms, we show that there is volume collapse in the regions where the injectivity radius collapses (i.e. tends to zero) in the long time limit. We conjecture that under the curvature assumption above the Thurston geometrization is the unique global attractor. We prove this in some special cases.  相似文献

We constrain three cosmological models,i.e.,ACDM model, holographic dark energy(HDE) model and R_h = ct model by using the recent Pantheon compilation of type la supernovae(SN la), the direction measurements of Hubble parameter H(z), and the baryon acoustic oscillations(BAO). The spatial curvature is considered in the ACDM model and the HDE model. We show that the HDE model in a spatially flat and HDE dominate universe has the same behavior as Rh = ct model if the characteristic parameter of the HDE model C_0 approaches to infinity. Numerical results show that the ACDM model is the best favoured one among the three models. The HDE model is consistent with observational data, the best fitting value of C_0 is around 0.8, which implies that the Rh = ct model should be modified to be compatible with the present cosmological observational data. Combing all the datasets, we give strict constraint on the Hubble constant, where h_0=0.694 ± 0.020 for the ACDM model and h_0= 0.689 ±0.019 for the HDE model. Our results imply that the tension of Hubble constant between Planck collaborations and Riess et al. has been partially relaxed. The constraint on the spatial curvature is also given, where Ω_(k0) =-0.066 ± 0.165 for the ACDM model andΩ_(k0)=0.029 ± 0.067 for the HDE model.  相似文献

We present perfect fluid Friedmann–Robertson–Walker quantum cosmological models in the presence of negative cosmological constant. In this work the Schutz’s variational formalism is applied for radiation, dust, cosmic string, and domain wall dominated Universes with positive, negative, and zero constant spatial curvature. In this approach the notion of time can be recovered. These give rise to Wheeler–DeWitt equations for the scale factor. We find their eigenvalues and eigenfunctions by using Spectral Method. After that, we use the eigenfunctions in order to construct wave packets for each case and evaluate the time-dependent expectation value of the scale factors, which are found to oscillate between finite maximum and minimum values. Since the expectation values of the scale factors never tends to the singular point, we have an initial indication that these models may not have singularities at the quantum level.  相似文献

We propose an effective Lorentz-violating electrodynamics model via the static de Sitter metric, which is deviated from the Minkowski metric by a minuscule amount depending on the cosmological constant. We obtain the electromagnetic field equations via the vierbein decomposition of the tensors. In addition, as an application of the electromagnetic field equations obtained, we derive the solutions of the electrostatic field and the magnetostatic field due to a point charge and a circle current, respectively, and discuss the implication of the effect of Lorentz violation in our electromagnetic theory.PACS 04.20.Cv; 04.40.-b; 98.80.Jk; 11.30.Cp  相似文献

The cosmological evolution of an interacting scalar-field model in which the scalar field interacts with dark matter, radiation, and baryons via Lorentz violation is investigated. We propose a model of interaction through the effective coupling, [`(b)]\bar{\beta} . Using dynamical system analysis, we study the linear dynamics of an interacting model and show that the dynamics of critical points are completely controlled by two parameters. Some results can be mentioned as follows. Firstly, the sequence of radiation, the dark matter, and the scalar-field dark energy exist and baryons are subdominant. Secondly, the model also allows for the possibility of having a universe in the phantom phase with constant potential. Thirdly, the effective gravitational constant varies with respect to time through [`(b)]\bar{\beta} . In particular, we consider the simple case where [`(b)]\bar{\beta} has a quadratic form and has a good agreement with the modified ΛCDM and quintessence models. Finally, we also calculate the first post-Newtonian parameters for our model.  相似文献

We present a Chaplygin gas Friedmann-Robertson-Walker quantum cosmological model in the presence of the cosmological constant. We apply the Schutz’s variational formalism to recover the notion of time, and this gives rise to Wheeler-DeWitt equation for the scale factor. We study the early and late time universes and show that the presence of the Chaplygin gas leads to an effective positive cosmological constant for the late times. This suggests the possibility of changing the sign of the effective cosmological constant during the transition from the early times to the late times. For the case of an effective negative cosmological constant for both epoches, we solve the resulting Wheeler-DeWitt equation using the Spectral Method and find the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions for positive, zero, and negative constant spatial curvatures. Then, we use the eigenfunctions in order to construct wave packets for each case and obtain the time-dependent expectation value of the scale factors, which are found to oscillate between finite maximum and minimum values. Since the expectation value of the scale factors never tend to the singular point, we have an initial indication that this model may not have singularities at the quantum level.  相似文献

It has been speculated that the zero-point energy of the vacuum, regularized due to the existence of a suitable ultraviolet cut-off scale, could be the source of the non-vanishing cosmological constant that is driving the present acceleration of the universe. We show that the presence of such a cut-off can significantly alter the results for the Casimir force between parallel conducting plates and even lead to repulsive Casimir force when the plate separation is smaller than the cut-off scale length. Using the current experimental data we rule out the possibility that the observed cosmological constant arises from the zero-point energy which is made finite by a suitable cut-off. Any such cut-off which is consistent with the observed Casimir effect will lead to an energy density which is at least about 1012 times larger than the observed one, if gravity couples to these modes. The implications are discussed.  相似文献

Further consequences of a finite topological field theory for gravity based on the SL(5,R) gauge group are reported. After symmetry breaking, it induces four-dimensional Einstein spaces with a cosmological constant related to the tiny scale of the symmetry breaking. It is shown that not only a ‘background’ metric emerges from a Higgs-like mechanism, but also consistently the geodesic equation central to Einstein?s equivalence principle. In next order of the symmetry breaking scale, the induced torsion could even provoke a tiny Lorentz violation.  相似文献

We propose an orbifolded, warped, extra dimension scenario in which the visible brane is not parallel to the hidden brane. This leads automatically to Lorentz violation in the visible, four-dimensional world. The background solution to the Einstein equations is a function of a parameter that can be identified with the amount of ‘tilting’ of the brane. The cosmological constant is found to coincide with the classic Randall–Sundrum value to the first order in this tilt. Lorentz violating effects induced in the Standard Model are considered. We find that the strongest constraint on the tilt comes from determinations of the electron–proton mass ratio in six quasar spectra (four optical and two radio). Measurements of a third radio source could improve this by an order of magnitude.  相似文献

We construct supersymmetric Lorentz violating operators for matter and gauge fields. We show that in the supersymmetric standard model the lowest possible dimension for such operators is five, and therefore they are suppressed by at least one power of an ultraviolet energy scale, providing a possible explanation for the smallness of Lorentz violation and its stability against radiative corrections. Supersymmetric Lorentz noninvariant operators do not lead to modifications of dispersion relations at high energies thereby escaping constraints from astrophysical searches for Lorentz violation.  相似文献

This review is devoted to problems of defining the reference frames in the tetrad formalism of General Relativity. Tetrads are the expansion coefficients of components of an orthogonal basis over the differentials of a coordinate space. The Hamiltonian cosmological perturbation theory is presented in terms of these invariant differential forms. This theory does not contain the double counting of the spatial metric determinant in contrast to the conventional Lifshits-Bardeen perturbation theory. We explicitly write out the Lorentz transformations of the orthogonal-basis components from the cosmic microwave background (CMB) reference frame to the laboratory frame, moving with a constant velocity relative to the CMB frame. Possible observational consequences of the Hamiltonian cosmological perturbation theory are discussed, in particular, the quantum anomaly of geometric interval and the shift of the origin, as a source of the CMB anisotropy, in the course of the universe evolution.  相似文献
