The role of Chinese tones played in speech perception were investigated by speech articulationtests in this paper.The first part of these tests was carried out under four different transmission con-ditions.It is shown that the tone articulation is higher than 95% although the syllable articulation ischanged from 77% to 28%,and at the sametime the initial articulation changed from 87.2% to 46.7%and the final articulation changed from 89% to 39.5 %. In order to separate the tones from the spectrum of speech sounds,a 2400 bits/s digital channelvocoder was used in the second part of the articulation tests under four different conditions of ex-citation source:1.a noise source only,2.a triangular pulse train souce with constant fundamentalfrcquency F_0=127 Hz only,3.a triangular pulse train source with normal fundamental frequencyonly and 4.both noise source and pulse source with normal fundamental frequency.It is shown thati.the rank order of the tone articulation for the four testing conditions is 4,3,1,2;ii  相似文献

It has been a barrier that the place code is far too coarse a mechanism to account for the finest frequency difference limen for place theory of hearing since it was proposed in 19th century. A place correlation model, which takes the energy distribution of a pure tone in neighboring bands of auditory filters into full account, was presented in this paper. The model based on the place theory and some experimental results of the psychophysical tuning curves of hearing can explain the finest difference limen for frequency (about 0.02 or 0.3% at 1000 Hz) easily. Using a standard 1/3 octave filter bank of which the relationship between the frequency of a input pure tone apart from the centre frequency of K-th filter band, Δf, and the output intensity difference between K-th and (K l)-th filters,ΔE, was established in order to show the fine frequency detection ability of the filter bank. This model can also be used to abstract the fundamental frequency of speech and to measure the frequency of pure tone precisely.  相似文献

Using a testing sentence(Ta qu Wuxishi,wo dao Heilongjiang.)well designed for measure-ments of telephone transmission qualality,we studied some dynamic characteristics of speech.Twelvetalkers individually uttered the testing sentence in an anechoic chamber.Testing conditions included:1. different talker's efforts(SPL of speech at 1 m from talker's lips is 55,60,65,70 and 75 dB),2.different utterance rates(normal and speed up).It is shown that:(1) The long-term averagespectrum of speech is varied with the talker's effort,and variation especially appeared in low andmid band of speech.(2) The fundamental frequency F_0 and formant frequencies F_1,F_2,F_3 areincrased with the increasing of the SPL of speech.(3) If utterance picks up speed,the vowel triangletends to be smaller than normal i.e.the vowels tend to be centralized.(4) As a consequence ofincreasing SPL of speech,vowel-to-consonant ratio is increased,but it is closely related to the mannerof articulation of consonants.  相似文献

The electro-pneumatic loudspeaker has been used widely as a sound source of high intensity noise.Investigation in this paper shows that by suitably increasing the upper limit frequency of the soundsource it can be used as a broadcasting sound source to reproduce speech and music.The acousticpower output of the sound source developed is 2000W;the power output at l000Hz deviates less than4 dB from the highest power output in its frequency range.The intelligibility of sentences recordedword for word at 5.8 km distance from the single sound source is 56%.And for an array of foursources,the intelligibility of sentences recorded word for word is 58% at 8.7 km from the soundsource,and 32% at l0.2 km from the sound source.The subjective rating for short passages isnearly intelligible at 8.7 km from the sound source,and less intelligible at 10.2 km from the soundsource.The experimental results show that the obtained intelligibility is dependent on the educa-tional level and the sense of responsibility of the list  相似文献

As the human ear is dull to the phase in speech, little attention has been paid to phase information in speech coding. In fact, the speech perceptual quality may be degenerated if the phase distortion is very large. The perceptual effect of the STFT (Short time Fourier transform) phase spectrum is studied by auditory subjective hearing tests. Three main conclusions are (1) If the phase information is neglected completely, the subjective quality of the reconstructed speech may be very poor; (2) Whether the neglected phase is in low frequency band or high frequency band, the difference from the original speech can be perceived by ear;(3) It is very difficult for the human ear to perceive the difference of speech quality between original speech and reconstructed speech while the phase quantization step size is shorter than π/7.  相似文献

We develop a picosecond widely tunable laser in a deep-ultraviolet region from 175 nm to 210 nm,generated by two stages of frequency doubling of a 80-MHz mode-locked picosecond Ti:sapphire laser.A β-BaB2O4 walk-off compensation configuration and a KBe2BO3F2 prism-coupled device are adopted for the generation of second harmonic and fourth harmonics,respectively.The highest power is 3.72 mW at 193 nm,and the fluctuation at 2.85 mW in 130 min is less than ±2%.  相似文献

In measuring acoustic field vector properties either complete or partial cancellation between ambient noise energy flux and the oppositely directed one, radiated, for instance, by tone or noise-shaped point source can be found. In that case there is no matter coherent or incoherent fields interact. The phenomenon of interest is named compensation of opposing energy fluxes. The paper is focused on interaction between vertical component of the surface noise energy flux and that of bottom-reflected noise-shaped interfering signal from on-water source in the deep open ocean. Bottom-reflected weak broadband interfering signal measures the extent of resultant compensation. As the vertical projection of the signal energy flux makes the interference maximum, its power appears to be comparable to that of the surface noise and complete compensation takes place at a given frequency. Once it is the interference minimum, just partial compensation can be found. No compensation was observed for co-directional energy fluxes.  相似文献

A speech signal processing and features extracting method based on computational auditory model is proposed. The computational model is based on psychological, physiological knowledge and digital signal processing methods. In each stage of a hearing perception system, there is a corresponding computational model to simulate its function. Based on this model, speech features are extracted. In each stage, the features in different kinds of level are extracted. A further processing for primary auditory spectrum based on lateral inhibition is proposed to extract much more robust speech features. All these features can be regarded as the internal representations of speech stimulation in hearing system. The robust speech recognition experiments are conducted to test the robustness of the features. Results show that the representations based on the proposed computational auditory model are robust representations for speech signals.  相似文献

We demonstrate the transmission of a microwave frequency signal at 10 GHz over a 112-km urban fiber link based on a novel simple-architecture electronic phase compensation system. The key element of the system is the low noise frequency divider by 4 to differentiate the frequency of the forward signal from that of the backward one, thus suppressing the effect of Brillouin backscattering and parasitic reflection along the link. In terms of overlapping Allan deviation,the frequency transfer instability of 4.2 × 10~(-15) at 1-s integration time and 1.6 × 10~(-18) at one-day integration time was achieved. In addition, its sensitivity to the polarization mode dispersion in fiber is analyzed by comparing the results with and without laser polarization scrambling. Generally, with simplicity and robustness, the system can offer great potentials in constructing cascaded frequency transfer system and facilitate the building of fiber-based microwave transfer network.  相似文献

The main goal of this study was to systematically investigate place-pitch perception in electrical hearing and the relative relationship between place-pitch perception ability,speech understanding and musical pitch discrimination by cochlear implant(CI) users.Electrode pitch ranking test was carried out to evaluate the place-pitch perception ability of CI users. Four post-lingually deafened CI users were recruited.They also participated in the speech recognition test and musical pitch discrimination test.Results showed that place pitch were generally ordered from apical to basal electrodes.The apical electrodes were judged lower in pitch than basal electrodes.Large individual difference was found.Comparing pitch and speech performance,the speech recognition result was related to the place-pitch perception ability of CI users,but this relationship was limited by the ceiling effects.However,a correlative relationship was found between musical pitch discrimination result and place-pitch ability of CI users.It indicated that the current signal processing of CI system can provide sufficient information for speech understanding but not for music perception of CI users.To a certain extent,music perception of CI users was determined by their place-pitch abilities.  相似文献
