Single crystals of semicarbazone of p-hydroxy-3-methoxy acetophenone (SPH3MA) were grown by a slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. This is the first report in the literature on the crystallization of SPH3MA. The cell parameters of the grown crystals were estimated by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The various planes of reflection were identified from the XRD powder pattern. The presence of functional groups was identified from FTIR and 1H NMR. The results were found to be in accordance with the structure of the crystal. The formation of charge transfer complex was confirmed by UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy. The thermal stability of the grown crystal was studied by thermal analysis.  相似文献

Single crystals of pure and cerium(III)nitrate doped zinc(tris) thiourea sulphate (ZTS) were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation method. The cell parameters of the grown crystals were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Powder X-ray diffraction patterns were recorded and indexed for the structural confirmation. The presence of functional group in the compound has been confirmed by FTIR analysis. UV–vis absorption spectrum has been recorded to determine the cut-off wavelength of the crystal. TGA/DTA studies show thermal stability of the grown crystals. SEM-EDX analysis revealed the incorporation of the impurity (Ce3+) into ZTS crystals. The microhardness study reveals that the hardness number (Hv) increases with load for all the grown crystals of this work. From the values of work hardening coefficients, it was concluded that pure and cerium nitrate doped ZTS crystals belong to the category of soft materials. The second harmonic generation of cerium(III)nitrate doped ZTS crystals was confirmed by Kurtz–Perry powder method using Nd:YAG laser.  相似文献

Nano-structure of a new 0D Pb(II) coordination supramolecular compound, [Pb4(8-Quin)6](ClO4)2(1), L = 8-HQuin = 8-hydroxyquinolin ligand has been synthesized by use of a sonochemical process and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and elemental analyses. The structure of compound 1 was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The single crystal X-ray data of compound 1 implies that the Pb+2 ions are five coordinated. Each lead atom is coordinated to nitrogen and oxygen atoms of 8-hydroxyquinolin ligand. Topological analysis shows that the compound 1 is 1,2,3,4,4M12-1net. Nanoparticles of lead(II) oxide have been prepared by calcination of lead(II) coordination polymer at 500 °C that were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and IR spectroscopy.  相似文献

Single crystals of pure and potassium iodide (KI)-doped zinc tris-thiourea sulphate (ZTS) were grown from aqueous solutions by the slow evaporation method. The grown crystals were transparent. The lattice parameters of the grown crystals were determined by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The grown crystals were also characterized by recording the powder X-ray diffraction pattern and by identifying the diffracting planes. The FT-IR spectrum was recorded in the range 400-4500 cm−1. Second harmonic generation (SHG) was confirmed by the Kurtz powder method. The thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) studies reveal that the materials have good thermal stability. Atomic absorption studies confirm the presence of dopant in ZTS crystals. The electrical measurements were made in the frequency range 102-106 Hz and in the temperature range 40-130 °C along a-, b- and c-directions of the grown crystals. The present study shows that the electrical parameters viz. dc conductivity, dielectric constant, dielectric loss factor and ac conductivity increase with increase in temperature. Activation energy values were also determined for the ac conduction process in grown crystals. The dc conductivity, dielectric constant, dielectric loss factor and ac conductivity of KI-doped ZTS crystal were found to be more than those of pure ZTS crystals.  相似文献

The new organic NLO crystal l-valinium salicylate (LVS) was grown by slow evaporation method using the mixed solvent of methanol and water in equal ratio. The crystal structure parameters were observed by powder and single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). The various functional groups present in the grown crystal were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) technique. 1H and 13C Fourier transform nuclear magnetic resonance (FT-NMR) spectra were recorded to elucidate the molecular structure. The optical absorption study confirmed the good transmission window of the title crystal suitable for optical applications. Semi-organic nonlinear optical single crystals of pure, Ni2+ and Cd2+ doped L-Lysine monohydrochloride dihydrate (L-LMHCl) were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveal that the pure and doped L-LMHCl crystals belong to monoclinic system with the space group P21. The presence of functional groups present in the pure and doped crystals was determined qualitatively by using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Optical absorption studies reveal very low absorption for the doped crystal than that of the pure crystal. A new semi-organic nonlinear optical bis(thiourea) zinc carbonate (BTZC) material has been synthesized. BTZC single crystals were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation method. The grown crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD), powder XRD, FTIR, UV–visible, thermal, and second harmonic generation (SHG) analysis. Single crystal XRD study has been carried out to identify the lattice parameters. FTIR studies confirm the functional groups present in the grown crystal. Optical transmission studies have confirmed that the grown crystal is highly transparent. Thermo gravimetric and differential thermal analyses reveal the good thermal stability of the material. The SHG conversion efficiency of BTZC was determined using Kurtz powder technique and found 1.3 times more than that of KDP.  相似文献

Optically transparent single crystals of urea doped with lithium sulphate (ULS), thiourea doped with lithium sulphate (TLS) and cupric chloride doped with lithium sulphate (CuLS) were grown in aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique at room temperature. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the changes in the lattice parameters of the ULS, TLS and CuLS. The lattice parameters and the quality of doped crystals were confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction studies. The functional groups present in the ULS, TLS and CuLS crystals were determined qualitatively by using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Optical absorption studies revealed that doped crystals acquire very low absorption in the entire visible region. The energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX) gives the chemical composition of the grown crystal. CHN analysis confirmed the presence of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen in the added dopants. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the doped crystal were studied as a function of frequency and temperature and the ferroelectric property of the crystal was confirmed by dielectric studies.  相似文献

Single crystals of novel semiorganic material, potassium diboro-oxalate (PDO) have been grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. The lattice parameters for the grown crystals were determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and the crystallinity of the grown crystal was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction analysis. The presence of functional groups was estimated qualitatively by using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis. The optical absorption spectrum shows that the UV cut-off wavelength for the grown crystal is at 240 nm and the band gap was calculated. The thermal stability of the grown crystal was studied by using TG/DTA analysis. The second harmonic generation and the phase-matchable tests were performed by Kurtz powder technique. Nanoparticles of two zinc(II) coordination supramolecule compounds (CSCs), [Zn(L)Cl2] (1) and [Zn(L)Br2] (2) L = 1,10-phen = 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, have been synthesized by use of a sonochemical process and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The single crystal X-ray data of compounds 1 and 2 imply that the Zn+2 ions are four coordinated. Topological analysis shows that the compound 1 and 2 are new topology for net: 1,3M4-1. Nanoparticles of zinc(II) oxide have been prepared by calcination of two different zinc(II) CPs at 500 °C that were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and IR spectroscopy.  相似文献

In this paper, we performed the synthesis, characterization, and computational studies on Vanillin isoniazid (VIN) single crystals grown by the slow evaporation solution growth technique. The crystalline perfection and monoclinic crystal structure with space group Cc have been confirmed using single-crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction method. The presence of various functional groups has been identified by FTIR and Raman spectroscopy. These data are in good agreement with theoretical and experimental values of FT-IR, FT-Raman.The optical absorption studies were carried out for the grown crystal VIN which has been analyzed by UV–Vis–NIR spectroscopy. Thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) were carried out to characterize the thermal stability of the VIN crystals. The quantum chemical calculations for VIN crystal are performed at the B3LYP, B3PW91, levels of theory with the 6–311++G(d,p) basis set. Finally, inter-and intramolecular charge transfer, hyper conjugative interaction of the compound is investigated from natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. The Mulliken atomic charge of VIN single crystal has been investigated using theoretical calculations.  相似文献

A new semiorganic compound, bis(diethylammonium) tetrachloromercurate(II) was grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at ambient temperature from its aqueous solution. The crystal system and the cell parameters have been identified from the powder X-ray diffraction pattern. The UV–visible absorption of the compound shows absorption at 246 nm and there is absorption observed in the entire visible region indicates that the compound can be used as a nonlinear optical material. The UV–visible transmittance spectrum of grown crystal shows a lower cut-off wavelength at 275 nm and it was found that the crystal is suitable for optoelectronic applications. Thermal studies were carried out to find out the thermal stability and confirm the stoichiometric ratio of the compound. The thermal anomalies in DSC study indicate the occurrence of first order transition in the compound at low temperatures. The FTIR spectrum of the compound characterizes various functional groups. The various kinds of protons and carbons were assigned through NMR (1H and 13C) spectroscopic techniques. The SHG efficiency of the compound was studied by Kurtz-Perry power technique and observed that it has SHG efficiency 1.5 times greater than that of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP). The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the compound decreases with increase in frequency.  相似文献

A semiorganic nonlinear optical material (thiosemicarbazide cadmium chloride monohydrate) (TCCM) was synthesized and single crystals was grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation method at ambient temperature. Crystal of average size up to 5×4×3 mm3 were harvested and characterized by powder X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and Fourier transfer infrared (FTIR) technique to confirm the identity of the compound formed. The thermal stability was analyzed by TG/DTA. The birefringence values (Δn) were determined in the wavelength region 540-6500 Å. Single crystals of cadmium mercury thiocyanate glycol monomethyl ether (CMTG) were grown from a mixed solvent of glycol monomethyl ether (GME):water (1:1) by slow evaporation method. The crystal structure and morphology were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Presence of functional groups and the coordination of glycol monomethyl ether (GME) and thiocyanate (SCN) in the CMTG compound were confirmed by FT-IR analysis. Optical transparency of the grown crystal was studied by UV–Vis spectroscopy. Thermal stability and decomposition process were studied by means of TGA and DTA analysis. Dielectric measurement on CMTG single crystal was carried out for various frequency and temperatures. The surface studies by scanning electron microscopy reveals the formation of layer growth pattern indicative of 2D nucleation mechanism. From the second harmonic output power measurement by Kurtz powder method, it is observed that CMTG is a potential material for nonlinear optical applications among the bimetallic thiocyanate adducts series.  相似文献

Non-linear optical manganese mercury teterathiocyanate glycol monomethyl ether [MnHg(SCN)4(C3H8O2)] compound was synthesized and single crystals were grown from water-glycol monomethyl ether (1:1) mixed solvent by slow cooling method. Structure and crystallinity of the grown crystal were confirmed by both single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analysis. Presence of functional groups and coordination of glycol monomethyl ether and thiocyanate in MMTG were confirmed by FT-IR analysis. Optical transmittance and second harmonic generation of the grown crystal were studied by UV–Vis spectrum and Kurtz powder technique. A dielectric study was performed on the MMTG single crystal to study the power dissipation of the material in the presence of alternating electric field. Mechanical behaviour was analysed using Vicker’s microhardness test. Optical surface damage measurement was carried out to confirm the suitability of MMTG crystal for NLO applications.  相似文献

A new zinc complex, [Zn (9-AC)2] (1) (9-AC = 9-anthracenecarboxylic acid), was prepared via conventional electrochemical method in a fast and facile process and fully characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The nano structures of the same compound were successfully produced by a facile and environment-friendly sonoelectrochemical route at different current densities (0.5, 1.2, 1.8, 2.5 and 3.5 mA/cm2). The new nano-structure particles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Thermal stability of single crystal and nano-size samples of the prepared compound was studied by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis. The comparison of the effect of current density without and with ultrasonic irradiation on particle size has been investigated in convectional electrochemical and sonoelectrochemical method respectively. The results showed that using ultrasonic irradiation with increasing the current density lead to decrease the particle sizes unlike conventional electrochemical method. In other words, when the current density increase from 0.5 to 3.5 mA/cm2, in sonoelectrochemical method, the particle sizes decrease from 100 to 48 nm while, in convectional electrochemical method, the particle sizes increase from 400 to 1200 nm and possible explanation offered. Photoluminescence properties of the nano-structured and crystalline bulk of the prepared complex at room temperature in the solid state have been investigated in detail. The results indicate that the size of the complex particles has an important effect on their optical properties.  相似文献

Bulk single crystals of pure and xylenol orange (XO) admixtured l-arginine phosphate (LAP) were grown by slow cooling technique. The cell parameters and crystallinity of pure and dye admixtured LAP crystals were confirmed by single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analyses. HRXRD analysis reveals the presence of xylenol orange dye in interstitial site of LAP crystal lattice and it confirms the crystalline perfection of grown crystals. The functional groups of grown crystals were confirmed by FTIR spectral analysis. UV–vis transmission studies show the characteristic absorption of xylenol orange admixtured LAP crystal. Vickers’ microhardness and laser damage threshold studies were carried out on these crystals. Kurtz and Perry powder test was conducted to measure the second harmonic generation efficiency of pure and dye admixtured LAP crystals.  相似文献

In recent days amino acid single crystals are gaining importance due to good optical behavior. The title compound consists of l-alanine; an amino acid and maleic acid; an aromatic organic compound. It has been successfully synthesized and the single crystal has been grown by slow evaporation solution growth. The grown single crystal has been characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis and FTIR measurements. The crystalline perfection was examined by high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) technique and found that the specimen quality is quite good. Optical behavior has been assessed by UV–Vis analysis and found that there is no absorption in the entire visible region. The relative second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency measurement reveals that the incorporation of maleic acid to l-alanine leads to increase its value of SHG. The mechanical behavior and the thermal analysis have been carried out using Vickers microhardness and TG/DTA measurements respectively. Its hyperpolarizability was estimated by density functional theory (DFT).  相似文献
