We consider the dynamics of bright solitons in one dimensional Bose Einstein condensate with spin orbit coupling and trapped by an optical lattice potential. We mainly focus on the effects of the spin orbit coupling, Rabi coupling and detuning parameter on the soliton dynamics. The solution of the coupled Gross Pitaevskii equation is performed with the help of the variational and numerical methods for various parameters. The population imbalance and the center of mass motion show different dynamic behaviors depending on the parameters. We also obtain traveling bright solitons related with a given finite initial momentum.  相似文献

We investigate theoretically the coherent spin dynamics of gate control of quantum dot-based electron spin–orbit qubits subjected to a tilted magnetic field under electric-dipole spin resonance (EDSR). Our results reveal that Rabi oscillation of qubit states can be manipulated electrically based on rapid gate control of SOC strength. The Rabi frequency is strongly dependent on the gate-induced electric field, the strength and orientation of the applied magnetic field. There are two major EDSR mechanisms. One arises from electric field-induced spin–orbit hybridization, and the other arises from magnetic field-induced energy-level crossing. The SOC introduced by the gate-induced electric field allows AC electric fields to drive coherent Rabi oscillations between spin-up and -down states. After the crossing of the energy-levels with the magnetic field, the spin-transfer crossing results in Rabi oscillation irrespective of whether or not the external electric field is present. The spin–orbit qubit is transferred into the orbit qubit. Rabi oscillation is anisotropic and periodic with respect to the tilted and in-plane orientation of the magnetic field originating from the interplay of the SOC, orbital, and Zeeman effects. The strong electrically-controlled SOC strength suggests the possibility for scalable applications of gate-controllable spin–orbit qubits.  相似文献

The local magnetism induced by vacancies in the presence of the spin–orbit interaction is investigated based on the half-filled Kane–Mele–Hubbard model on the honeycomb lattice. Using a self-consistent mean-field theory, we find that the spin–orbit coupling will enhance the localization of the spin moments near a single vacancy. We further study the magnetic structures along the zigzag edges formed by a chain of vacancies. We find that the spin–orbit coupling tends to suppress the counter-polarized ferrimagnetic order on the upper and lower edges, because of the open of the spin–orbit gap. As a result, in the case of the balance number of sublattices, it will suppress completely this kind of ferrimagnetic order. But, for the imbalance case, a ferrimagnetic order along both edges exists because additional zero modes will not be affected by the spin–orbit coupling.  相似文献

Silicene takes precedence over graphene due to its buckling type structure and strong spin orbit coupling. Motivated by these properties, we study the silicene bilayer in the presence of applied perpendicular electric field and intrinsic spin orbit coupling to probe as quantum spin/valley Hall effect. Using analytical approach, we calculate the spin Chern-number of bilayer silicene and then compare it with monolayer silicene. We reveal that bilayer silicene hosts double spin Chern-number as compared to single layer silicene and therefore accordingly has twice as many edge states in contrast to single layer silicene. In addition, we investigate the combined effect of intrinsic spin orbit coupling and the external electric field, we find that bilayer silicene, likewise single layer silicene, goes through a phase transitions from a quantum spin Hall state to a quantum valley Hall state when the strength of the applied electric field exceeds the intrinsic spin orbit coupling strength. We believe that the results and outcomes obtained for bilayer silicene are experimentally more accessible as compared to bilayer graphene, because of strong SO coupling in bilayer silicene.  相似文献

We study the optically induced coupling between spins mediated by polaritons in a planar microcavity. In the strong-coupling regime, the vacuum Rabi splitting introduces anisotropies in the spin coupling. Moreover, due to their photonlike mass, polaritons provide an extremely long spin coupling range. This suggests the realization of two-qubit all-optical quantum operations within tens of picoseconds with spins localized as far as hundreds of nanometers apart.  相似文献

We have study the simultaneous effect of Rashba and Dresselhaus spin–orbit interactions on the polaron properties in wurtzite semiconductor quantum wells. The linear and cubic contributions of the bulk Dresselhaus spin–orbit coupling and the effects of phonon confinement on electron–optical-phonon interaction Hamiltonians are taken into account. We have found analytical solutions for the polaron energies as well as polaron effective mass within the range of validity of perturbation theory. It is shown that the polaron energy and effective mass correction are both significantly enhanced by the spin–orbit coupling. Wave number dependent phonon contribution on the electron energy has minima and varies differently of the spin-up and spin-down states. Polaron self-energy due to interface optical phonon modes has larger values than of the confined optical phonon modes ones. The polaron effective mass exhibits anisotropy and the contribution of the Dresselhaus spin–orbit coupling term on the polaron effective mass is dominated by Rashba one.  相似文献

We propose a scheme to coherently control spin squeezing of atomic Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) via the technique of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). We study quantum dynamics of the mean spin vector and spin squeezing. It is shown that the mean spin vector and spin squeezing of the BEC can be controlled and manipulated by adjusting the external coupling fields or/and internal nonlinear interactions of the BEC. It is indicated that the spin squeezing can be generated rapidly in the dynamical process and maintained in a long time interval. It is found that a larger effective Rabi coupling between atoms and lasers can produce a stronger spin squeezing, and the squeezing can maintain a longer time interval.  相似文献

The vacuum Rabi splitting and Kerr effect are investigated theoretically in a hybrid spin–magnon–photon system, where the nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond driven by two light fields is coupled to a spherical micromagnet embedded in a superconducting coplanar waveguide resonator. The results indicate that the phenomenon of the Mollow triplet and vacuum Rabi splitting can appear by controlling the spin–magnon coupling and magnon–photon coupling. It is shown that the probe absorption spectrum can be adjusted effectively via the pump frequency detuning. Moreover, it is demonstrated that the optical Kerr effect can be tuned by changing the Rabi frequency. This work may provide a possibility for the applications in quantum information processing and quantum sensing of magnetic signal.  相似文献

We consider the dynamics and formation of vortices from ring dark solitons in a two-dimensional Bose–Einstein condensate with the Rashba spin–orbit coupling based on the time-dependent coupled Gross–Pitaevskii equation. Compared with previous results, the system exhibits complex dynamical behaviors in the presence of the spin–orbit coupling. With the modulation of the spin–orbit coupling, not only the lifetime of ring dark solitons is greatly prolonged, but also their attenuation kinetics is significantly affected. For two shallow ring dark solitons with the equal strength of the spin–orbit coupling, the radius of ring dark solitons increases to a maximum value over time and then shrinks into a minimum value. Due to the effect of the snake instability, ring dark solitons split into a series of ring-like clusters of vortex pairs, which perform complex oscillations. This indicates that the system is strongly dependent on the presence of the spin–orbit coupling. Furthermore, the effect of different initial modulation depths on the dynamics of ring dark solitons is investigated.  相似文献

We investigate theoretically the effects of Rashba spin–orbit coupling on the spin dependent transport through diluted magnetic semiconductor single and double barrier structures in the presence of a magnetic field. We find that the Rashba spin–orbit coupling gives rise to an enhancement of the negative tunnelling magnetoresistance of the diluted magnetic semiconductor single barrier structure and a pronounced beating pattern in the tunnelling magnetoresistance and spin polarization of the diluted magnetic semiconductor double barrier structure.  相似文献

We consider a new effect induced by spin–orbit coupling in a two-dimensional electron gas confined in a semiconductor quantum well, i.e. the possibility of spin current generation by fluctuating random Rashba spin–orbit interaction, with the corresponding mean value of the interaction being equal to zero. Our main results suggest that – in contrast to the spatially uniform Rashba spin–orbit interaction – the spin Hall effect does not vanish for typical disorder strengths. We also point out some other possibilities of using such a random Rashba coupling for the generation of spin density and spin current in two-dimensional nonmagnetic structures.  相似文献

We investigate the spin-dependent thermoelectric effect of a Rashba molecular quantum dot coupled with both ferromagnetic leads and a phonon bath in the Kondo regime. A transport formula is derived to deal with the strong electron–electron and electron–phonon interaction with the spin–orbit coupling of arbitrary intensity simultaneously. The numerical results show that only strengthening the electron–phonon coupling can improve the charge thermopower, while even very small spin–orbit coupling can suppress both the thermocharge figure of merit and the thermospin one at the Kondo temperature greatly. It is also found that the electron–phonon coupling in conjunction with the spin–orbit coupling can rebuild Fermi liquid state in the Kondo regime.  相似文献

In spite of large spin coherence length in graphene due to small spin–orbit coupling, the created potential barrier and antiferromagnetic coupling at graphene/transition metal (TM) contacts strongly reduce the spin transport behavior in graphene. Keeping these critical issues in mind in the present work, ferromagnetic (Co, Ni) nanosheets are grown on graphene surface to elucidate the nature of interaction at the graphene/ferromagnetic interface to improve the spin transistor characteristics. Temperature dependent magnetoconductance shows unusual behavior exhibiting giant enhancement in magnetoconductance with increasing temperature. A model based on spin–orbit coupling operated at the graphene/TM interface is proposed to explain this anomalous result. We believe that the device performance can be improved remarkably tuning the spin–orbit coupling at the interface of graphene based spin transistor. (© 2015 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH &Co. The influence of the hydrogen-bond formation on the NMR spin–spin coupling constants, including the Fermi contact, the diamagnetic spin–orbit, the paramagnetic spin–orbit and the spin dipole term, has been investigated for the ortho-aminobenzoic acid microhydrated with up to three water molecules. The one-bond and two-bond spin–spin coupling constants for several intra-molecular and across-the-hydrogen-bond atomic pairs are calculated employing high-level density functional theory in combination with the B3LYP functional with two different types of extended basis sets for each level of microhydration. The spin–spin coupling constants, in general, vary inversely with the hydrogen bond length. The Fermi contact term is found to be the dominant contributor to the total value of spin–spin coupling constant followed by the paramagnetic spin–orbit term. The variations of Fermi contact term and atomic charge distribution with size of microhydration follow quite similar trend. The effect of explicit solvation provided by microhydration has also been compared briefly with that of bulk implicit solvation obtained through polarised continuum model and mixed microhydration/continuum approach.  相似文献

Silicene and related buckled materials are distinct from both the conventional two dimensional electron gas and the famous graphene due to strong spin orbit coupling and the buckled structure. These materials have potential to overcome limitations encountered for graphene, in particular the zero band gap and weak spin orbit coupling. We present a theoretical realization of quantum capacitance which has advantages over the scattering problems of traditional transport measurements. We derive and discuss quantum capacitance as a function of the Fermi energy and temperature taking into account electron–hole puddles through a Gaussian broadening distribution. Our predicted results are very exciting and pave the way for future spintronic and valleytronic devices.  相似文献

In this article we study the role of Rashba spin–orbit coupling and electron–phonon interaction on the electronic structure of zigzag graphene nanoribbon with different width. The total Hamiltonian of nanoribbon is written in the tight binding form and the electron–electron interaction is modeled in the Hubbard term. We used a unitary transformation to reach an effective Hamiltonian for nano ribbon in the presence of electron–phonon interaction. Our results show that small Rashba spin orbit coupling annihilates the anti-ferromagnetic phase in the zigzag edges of ribbon and the electron–phonon interaction yields small polaron formation in graphene nano ribbon. Furthermore, Rashba type spin–orbit coupling increases (decreases) the polaron formation energy for up (down) spin state.  相似文献

We prove that in a two-dimensional homogeneous boson system with Rashba spin–orbit coupling, Bose–Einstein condensate with plane-wave order is unstable at finite temperature. The calculations are based on a nonlinear sigma model scheme. The density wave contributions to the thermal deletions are divergent in the infrared limit. The behavior of the divergence is different from that without spin–orbit coupling.  相似文献

Using the transfer matrix method, we study the electron transport through a single-layer graphene superlattice with alternating layers of ferromagnetic and normal regions with Rashba spin–orbit coupling. We show that the transport properties of the system depend strongly on the superlattice parameters. As another result, Rashba spin–orbit coupling manifests to be of crucial importance in controlling the transmission probabilities and Giant Magneto Resistance (GMR).  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the spin-dependent Seebeck effect in an Aharonov–Bohm mesoscopic ring in the presence of both Rashba and Dresselhaus spin–orbit interactions under magnetic flux perpendicular to the ring. We apply the Green's function method to calculate the spin Seebeck coefficient employing the tight-binding Hamiltonian. It is found that the spin Seebeck coefficient is proportional to the slope of the energy-dependent transmission coefficients. We study the strong dependence of spin Seebeck coefficient on the Fermi energy, magnetic flux, strength of spin–orbit coupling, and temperature. Maximum spin Seebeck coefficients can be obtained when the strengths of Rashba and Dresselhaus spin–orbit couplings are slightly different. The spin Seebeck coefficient can be reduced by increasing temperature and disorder.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the influence of spin–orbit interaction and two types of Rashba interaction (intrinsic and extrinsic) on magnetic and thermoelectric properties of graphene-like zigzag nanoribbons based on the honeycomb lattice. We utilize the Kane-Mele model with additional Rashba interaction terms. Magnetic structure is described by the electron-electron Coulomb repulsion reduced to the on-site interaction (Hubbard term) in the mean field approximation. We consider four types of magnetic configurations: ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic with in-plane and out-of plane direction of magnetization. Firstly, we analyze the influence of extrinsic Rashba coupling on systems with negligible spin–orbit interaction, e.g. graphene of an appropriate substrate. Secondly, we discuss the interplay between spin–orbit and intrinsic Rashba interactions. This part is relevant to materials with significant spin–orbit coupling such as silicene and stanene.  相似文献
