Then the modular groups it , N ir , N is ,t, r, s generate a unitary representation of the group S1(2, )/Z 2 of positive energy.Another result is related to two half-sided modular inclusions (1 , ) and (2 , ). The projection latticesP(1),P(2) of two von Neumann subalgebras 1, 2 of the von Neumann algebra are defined to be logically independent if A B0 for any 0AP(1), 0BP(2). After motivating this notion in independence, it is shown thatP(1),P(2) are logically independent if 1 is a subfactor in a finite factor andP(1),P(2 commute. Also, logical independence is related to the statistical independence conditions called C*-independence W*-independence, and strict locality. Logical independence ofP(1,P(2 turns out to be equivalent to the C*-independence of (1,2) for mutually commuting 1,2 and it is shown that if (1,2) is a pair of (not necessarily commuting) von Neumann subalgebras, thenP(1,P(2 are logically independent in the following cases: is a finite-dimensional full-matrix algebra and 1,2 are C*-independent; (1,2) is a W*-independent pair; 1,2 have the property of strict locality.  相似文献

An infinite set of higher spin conserved charges is found for the sp(2M) symmetric dynamical systems in M(M+ 1)/2-dimensional generalized spacetime M. Since the dynamics in M is equivalent to the conformal dynamics of infinite towers of fields in d-dimensional Minkowski spacetime with d = 3, 4, 6, 10, ... for M = 2, 4, 8, 16, ..., respectively, the constructed currents in M generate infinite towers of (mostly new) higher spin conformal currents in Minkowski spacetime. The charges have a form of integrals of M-forms which are bilinear in the field variables and are closed as a consequence of the field equations. Conservation implies independence of a value of charge of a local variation of a M-dimensional integration surface M analogous to Cauchy surface in the usual spacetime. The scalar conserved charge provides an invariant bilinear form on the space of solutions of the field equations that gives rise to a positive-definite norm on the space of quantum states.  相似文献

We study the ground state properties of theS=1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet (HAF) on the triangular lattice with nearest-neighbour (J) and next-nearest neighbour (J) couplings. Classically, this system is known to be ordered in a 120° Néel type state for values-<1/8 of the ratio of these couplings and in a collinear state for 1/8<<1. The order parameter and the helicity /gC of the 120° structure are obtained by numerical diagonalisation of finite periodic systems of up toN=30 sites and by applying the spin-wave (SW) approximation to the same finite systems. We find a surprisingly good agreement between the exact and the SW results in the entire region-<<1/8. It appears that the SW theory is still valid for the simple triangular HAF (=0) although the sublattice magnetisation is substantially reduced from its classical value by quantum fluctuations. Our numerical results for the order parameterM of the collinear order support the previous conjecture of a first order transition between the 120° and the collinear order at 1/8.  相似文献

The moduli space of self-dual connections over a Riemannian 4-manifold has a natural Riemannian metric, inherited from theL 2 metric on the space of connections. We give a formula for the curvature of this metric in terms of the relevant Green operators. We then examine in great detail the moduli space 1 ofk=1 instantons on the 4-sphere, and obtain an explicit formula for the metric in this case. We discuss gauge theory with a topologicalN=2 symmetry. This theory captures the de Rham complex and Riemannian geometry of some underlying moduli space and the partition function equals the Euler number () of . We explicitly deal with moduli spaces of instantons and of flat connections in two and three dimensions. To motivate our constructions we explain the relation between the Mathai-Quillen formalism and supersymmetric quantum mechanics and introduce a new kind of supersymmetric quantum mechanics based on the Gauss-Codazzi equations. We interpret the gauge theory actions from the Atiyah-Jeffrey point of view and relate them to supersymmetric quantum mechanics on spaces of connections. As a consequence of these considerations we propose the Euler number () of the moduli space of flat connections as a generalization to arbitrary three-manifolds of the Casson invariant. Given its superselection sectors with non-abelian braid group statistics, we extend the algebraA of local observables into an algebra containing localized intertwiner fields which carry the superselection charges. The construction of the inner degrees of freedom, as well as the study of their transformation properties (quantum symmetry), are entirely in terms of the superselection structure of the observables. As a novel and characteristic feature for braid group statistics, Clebsch-Gordan and commutation coefficients generically take values in the algebra of symmetry operators, much as it is the case with quasi-Hopf symmetry.A, , and are allC * algebras, i.e. represented by bounded operators on a Hilbert space with positive metric.  相似文献

Inner geometry and embedding formulas for a totally geodesic null hypersurface in an electrovacuum space-time are given. The structure of all possible symmetry groups of the geometry is described in case that the space-like sections and are compact orientable surfaces and is, topologically, ×R 1. The result is, where are the well-known isometry groups of , and is an at most two-dimensional group acting along rays, which is fully specified in the paper. A cluster of two atoms described by thes-f model with Coulomb repulsion has been considered. The interaction between localized 4f electrons (S=1/2) is taken in the molecular field approximation. The thermodynamic quantities like magnetization, specific heat and correlation functions n , n , S z n , S z n , S z (n n ), n n and S + a + a as functions of temperature are presented for different band fillingN=0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2. The dependence of Curie temperature onN is calculated. The phase diagram forN=1 (T=0K) shows the possibility of existence of two phases: paramagnetic and ferromagnetic.The Curie temperature and the specific heat as functions ofN exhibit similar trends as found in experiments on doped magnetic semiconductors.  相似文献

The major reasons for the low photovoltaic efficiency of Cu2S/CdS cells, in which the CdS film is deposited by spraying, are due to small film thicknesses which do not exceed 4 m and the small average grain size which ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 m.A new experimental solution spraying procedure is described that prevents both restrictions by controlling the substrate temperature. Motivated by the recent wave of investigations on plane domain wall spacetimes with nontrivial topologies, the present paper deals with (probably) the most simple source field configuration which can generate a spatially planary symmetric static spacetime, namely a minimally coupled massless scalar field that depends only upon a spacelike coordinate. z. It is shown that the corresponding exact solutions (. g±) are algebraically special, type D-[S-3T] (in11), and represent globally pathologic spacetimes with a G4-group of motion acting on R2 × R orbits. In spite of the model simplicity, these -generated worlds possess naked timelike singularities (reached within a finite universal time by normal nonspacelike geodesics). are completely free of Cauchy surfaces, and contain, in the t-leveled sections, points that cannot be joined by C1-trajectory images of oblique non-spacelike geodesies. Finally, we comment on the possibility of deriving from (, g±) two other physically interesting -generated spacetimes by appropriate joining conditions in the (z=0)-plane.Monbusho fellow, on leave of absence from Al. From a finite size analysis we extract the structure factorS(p, N=) of the one dimensional AFH-model in the groundstate: The gross structure is well described byL (p) = –ln(1– p ). The fine structure which only contributes a few percent reveals a pronounced non-linear behavior inL(p) with a maximum atp=0.20 and a minimum atp=0.82.  相似文献

The influence of weak ultra-violet irradiation on the brightness waves of electroluminescence is investigated for two types of ZnS-Cuphosphors. The observed effects (increase in brightness in the primary peak and its phase shift, the disappearance of the secondary peak) are explained on the basis of present-day conceptions on electroluminescence.
