The absorption of laser light in 0.25–1 mm diameter gold cavities, irradiated for the purpose of generating high-temperature blackbody radiation with intense laser radiation of either =0.44 m or =1.3 m wavelength, was investigated. For =0.44 m radiation the absorption exceeded 0.9 for all conditions, but dropped to only 0.3 for the smallest cavities irradiated at =1.3 m. Entrance hole and cavity filling with plasma seems important for the understanding of the observations.  相似文献

New cascade laser transitions of12CH2F2 at 172.50m, 208.83m, 220.44m, 223.99m and 250.61m are reported. A waveguide FIR laser was pumped with a quasi cw12C16O2 laser operating on the 9R32 line. Together with the already known lines at 184.3m, 196.1m and 235.9m, the laser lines can be assigned to rotational transitions in the 9 vibrational band of12CH2F2 and to refill transitions of the vibrational ground state 0.  相似文献

We report recent activities and achievements on the development of photonic devices for telecommunication applications. Opto-electronic devices such as high performance 1.55 m complex-coupled InGaAsP-InP distributed feedback (DFB) and 1.3 m uncooled AllnGaAs-InP lasers, the InGaAs-InP p-i-n photodetector on semi-insulating substrate, the 0.98 m InGaAs-GaAs-InGaP pumping laser, and 12-channel laser and detector arrays, are presented. Work on the development of in-house vertical integration for the fabrication of a 1.55 m single frequency transmitter, a 1.3 m multimode transmitter and receiver, and an Er-doped fibre amplifier, and their applications in system trials in the Taiwan National Information Infrastructure network, is described.  相似文献

Three distinct electronic states were detected for positive muons (+) after implantation into a C60 powder sample. About 40% of the + remained in the bare (diamagnetic) state, essentially an interstitial charged point particle. The rest of the muons were found to thermalize predominantly in two muonium (Mu=+ e) atomic species. A vacuum Mu state, with hyperfine coupling close to that of free Mu, most likely at the molecular center, and a muonic substituted radical, i.e. a hydrogen-like Mu addition to double bonds on the carbon rings. This opens up a rich subfield of fullerene spectroscopy using muons.  相似文献

A phosphor with temperature-dependent lifetime has been used to measure the temperature distribution produced by laser heating of a thin film surface. A gold thin film deposited on a quartz substrate is coated with 40 m film of the phosphor material. A cw argon ion laser (476 nm) beam is split into two beams, with the more intense beam focused to 15 m (1/e2 radius) to heat the film through the quartz substrate. The weaker probe beam is chopped and focused tightly using a microscope objective to excite the phosphor from the other side. The spatial variation in lifetime, and hence the temperature distribution, is obtained by scanning the probe beam over the heated region. The temperature distribution measured for different film thickness's is compared with calculations using a finite element model. The calculated temperatures at the gold surface near the laser beam are higher than the experimentally measured values, and agree only when the heat-sinking effect of the phosphor material is taken into account. The results suggest that a phosphor layer thinner than a micron will be required (for 15 m laser spot size) so as not to perturb the temperature of the gold layer.  相似文献

The triton energy of the muon capture reaction 3He t+v, where 3 He is the ground state of muonic3He, has been measured in order to investigate a possible heavy v admixture into the flavour with high sensitivity. 3 He has been formed via the pd fusion reaction by stopping in an ionization chamber (IC) filled with an H/D gas mixture of 3% D concentration at a pressure of 161 bar. In a first short experiment 650 triton events were observed yielding an upper limit for the -heavy v mixing strength of 2.3×10–3 atE 0v=60 MeV.  相似文献

The optically pumped FIR laser lines at 119 m from CH3OH and at 127 m from13CD3OH are known to be the most powerful in the far infrared spectral region. We report on efficiency measurements for our waveguide laser system. The effect of various parameters was investigated, resulting in the highest efficiency ever reported for the 119 m line. The Stark effect and others parameters of the 127 m were measured, and a new13CD3OH laser line at 175 m discovered, with the same pump transition. These measurements are helpful for completing the assignment already proposed for the 127 m line.  相似文献

Intense far-infrared laser action is reported for carbonyl fluoride and vinyl fluoride. Eleven new lines with wavelengths between 339 m538 m were obtained by optically pumping carbonyl fluoride with numerous lines of the 10.4 m band of a cw CO2 laser. Twenty-three lines with wavelengths in the range 172 m783 m were detected when pumping the recently discovered efficient FIR laser molecule vinyl fluoride. In addition, three very weak new lines were found using 1.1-difluoroethylen.  相似文献

This work reports a novel process combination, which is capable of forming large hole matrices (100 pores/mm2) in thin stainless steel foils (10 mfoil<300 m) maintaining high processing rates and pore widths smaller than 5 m. This technique perforates stainless steel foils with high-speed on-the-fly laser perforation (60000 drillings/min) followed by a cold-roll forming of the laser-treated foil. The cold-roll forming leads to a pore-size reduction (in one dimension) perpendicular to the rolling direction. For the laser processing a diode-pumped, q-switched and frequency-tripled Nd:YAG laser (=355 nm, =30 ns), and a flashlamp-pumped Nd:YAG laser (=1064 nm, =57 s) were applied. Using this process combination, minimum pore sizes of 3.5 m have been achieved. At present, the processing efficiency of cold-rolled percussion drillings inserted with nanosecond pulse durations is lower in comparison with single-pulse on-the-fly perforation, but in terms of quality (straight pore channel, low standard deviation of pore widths and pore widths smaller than 5 m) well suited for various fields in filtration (e.g. particle removal) . The refractivity of the CO2 gas is measured with an experimental error of 2% in the 10-m region, using 10.4-m band CO2 laser line. The frequency of the CO2 laser is swept through the Doppler profile of the laser line. The experiment is achieved using a 0.63-m He–Ne/10.6-m CO2-laser interferometer with a 2-m long vacuum cell. From the result, it is found that the Koch's formula also holds for the wavelengths in the 10-m region within an accuracy of 2%.  相似文献

The multiplicities a of simple modules L in the composition series of Kac modules V lambda for the Lie superalgebra (m/n ) were described by Serganova, leading to her solution of the character problem for (m/n ). In Serganova's algorithm all with nonzero a are determined for a given this algorithm, turns out to be rather complicated. In this Letter, a simple rule is conjectured to find all nonzero a for any given weight . In particular, we claim that for an r-fold atypical weight there are 2r distinct weights such that a = 1, and a = 0 for all other weights . Some related properties on the multiplicities a are proved, and arguments in favour of our main conjecture are given. Finally, an extension of the conjecture describing the inverse of the matrix of Kazhdan–Lusztig polynomials is discussed.  相似文献

A recently developed formula [R. Bukowski and B. Jeziorski, Phys. Rev. A46 (1992) 5437]. has been applied to estimate the soft-photon Lamb shift contribution to the energies of the muonic molecules pp, dd, tt, pd, pt and dt. The corresponding corrections to the dissociation energies for the excited P states of dd and dt have been found to be almost identical and equal to 0.048 meV. The magnitude of this stabilizing effect is too small to affect seriously the formation rates predictions.  相似文献

In this paper, we paraquantize the spinning string theory in the Neveu-Shwarz model. Unlike the Ardalan and Mansouri work [Phys. Rev. D, Vol. 9, (1974) 3341], the paraquantum system is such that both the center of mass variables and the excitation modes of the string verify paracommutation relations. The commutators of the Poincaré algebra are satisfied, except the [p ,p ] one, since one can only write [p ,p ]= 0, for Q1. Because of the relation [x ,x ] =,0 and with the sole use of the trilinear relations, we find existence possibilities of spinning strings defined in a noncommutative space-time at space-time dimensions other than D=10.  相似文献

This paper reports the optical characterisation and numerical simulations of sub-micrometre yablonovite templates fabricated in poly-methyl methacrylate (PMMA) resist along with the pattern transfer to metals and other dielectrics. The fabrication is based on three consecutive exposures to an X-ray beam through a triangular lattice of holes. Up to seven (111) crystal periods are repeatedly obtained in thick PMMA layers. Optical characterisations of 1.3 m period templates show well-defined stop-bands in the mid-infrared, in good agreement with the numerical simulations. Two simple and low-cost methods are used to replicate the yablonovite structures in other materials. The pattern transfers to a metal (copper) and a high-refractive-index dielectric (titanium dioxide) are obtained by electrodeposition and a sol–gel technique, respectively. Very regular yablonovite-type metallic structures of 2 m lattice constant and 4.3 m height are fabricated with metallic wires of 500 nm diameter over a surface of 150 × 150 m2.  相似文献

Based upon the recent discovery at UT MSL/KEK, a new idea is proposed for producing a slow and monoenergetic (3.2 keV) (3He)+ ion beam by using particle decay of the (d3He) muon molecule formed during the (d) to3He transfer reaction. The proposed intense (3He) beam as well as the less intense (4He) beam will open up way to various new types of important CF experiments.  相似文献

In a systematic study of the transfer process to sulphur dioxide, in seven different H2 + SO2 gas mixtures, the time spectra of the muonic sulphur X-rays yield muon transfer rates to the SO2 molecule, deduced from the lifetimes of the p atoms, which agree all well with each other. The muonic oxygen time spectra show an additional structure as if p atoms of another kind were present. Reduced transfer ratesO are reproducible if one uses the model of ephemeral p atoms. The intensity ratios between the different kinds of p atoms are also discussed in the framework of this model and the one of black and white p atoms.  相似文献
