Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were homogeneously dispersed in pure acrylic emulsion by ultrasonication to prepare MWCNT/polyacrylate composites applied on building interior wall for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding applications. The structure and surface morphology of the MWCNTs and MWCNT/polyacrylate composites were studied by field emission scanning microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The electrical conductivity at room temperature and EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) of the composite films on concrete substrate with different MWCNT loadings were investigated and the measurement of EMI SE was carried out in two different frequency ranges of 100-1000 MHz (radio frequency range) and 8.2-12.4 GHz (X-band). The experimental results show that a low mass concentration of MWCNTs could achieve a high conductivity and the EMI SE of the MWCNT/polyacrylate composite films has a strong dependence on MWCNTs content in both two frequency ranges. The SE is higher in X-band than that in radio frequency range. For the composite films with 10 wt.% MWCNTs, the EMI SE of experiment agrees well with that of theoretical prediction in far field.  相似文献

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and ferroelectric liquid crystal (P–FLC) composite films (~ 4 μm) with varying proportions of ferroelectric liquid crystal have been prepared and the dielectric response of the composite films as a function of wide frequency (100 Hz–10 MHz) and temperature (127–40 °C) have been analyzed. The dielectric spectra of such composite systems are considerably modified compared to those of the corresponding pure LC or PMMA materials. The observed paraelectric to ferroelectric transition temperature of the composites is found to be lower (~ 85 °C) compared to that of the pure LC system (~ 98 °C), which makes these composites technologically more significant. The P–FLC composites also exhibit higher relaxation frequency and smaller dielectric strength for the Goldstone mode compared to those of the corresponding pure FLC. Depending on the percentage of the constitute materials, the molecular dynamics of the composite materials changes. Dielectric contributions of both liquid crystal and PMMA matrix forming the composites have been analyzed on the basis of Havriliak and Negami function.  相似文献

Through the chemical coating of polypyrrole (PPy) doped with naphthalene sulfonic acid (NSA) on electrically insulating poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) woven fabric, PPy–NSA/PET complexes were synthesized. By using the electrochemical coating of PPy doped anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid (AQSA) on PPy–NSA/PET complexes, PPy–AQSA/PPy–NSA/PET complexes were synthesized. The silver (Ag) was thermally vacuum evaporated on the surface of PPy–AQSA/PPy–NSA/PET complexes (Ag|PPy–AQSA/PPy–NSA/PET). Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding efficiency (SE) and dc conductivity (σdc) of fabric complexes were measured for EMI shielding characteristics and theoretical simulation. The measurement of EMI SE in the frequency range from 50 MHz to 1.5 GHz was performed by using ASTM D4935-99 method. The EMI shielding characteristics such as transmittance, reflectance and absorbance were obtained from the S (scattering)-parameter analysis. We control the contribution of the absorbance or the reflectance to total EMI SE through the coating of conductive PPy and the evaporation Ag.  相似文献

High-activity, visible-light-driven photocatalysts were prepared by forming N-doped TiO2 on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The use of MWCNTs as the support in a N-doped TiO2 system favored electron trapping, because the recombination process could be retarded, thus promoting photocatalytic activity. The prepared photocatalysts were systematically characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Brunaure–Emmett–Teller (BET) spectroscopy, and UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–Vis/DRS). The results indicated that the N-doped TiO2 coated on MWCNTs improved the surface area and slightly modified the optical properties of the composite. The activities of the photocatalysts were probed by photodegradation of methanol in the presence of visible light irradiation. The experimental results revealed that the strong interphase linkage between the MWCNTs and the N-doped TiO2 played a significant role in improving photocatalytic activity. However, the mechanical process for MWCNT–TiO2-x N x mixtures showed lower activity than just pure N-doped TiO2. In this study, N-doped TiO2 precursors coated with pretreated MWCNTs during a sol–gel process could effectively form a MWCNT–TiO2-x N x composite. The composite showed excellent activity and effectively enhanced the efficiency of N-doped TiO2 under the visible light region.  相似文献

Bismuth titanate, Bi4Ti3O12 (BTO), is a typical ferroelectric material with useful properties for optical memory, piezoelectric and electro-optic devices. Its nano-crystals were compounded by the chemical solution decomposition technique. Its structure and size were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and transmissive electron microscopy. The composite thin film of BTO nano-crystals and high transparency polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) polymer was prepared by spin coating. The transmitted spectrum of BTO/PMMA composite thin film in 300–1500 nm was measured. The film thickness d and the optical constants of the film, such as the refractive index n, the absorption coefficient α, and the extinction coefficient κ were obtained using the data from the transmitted spectrum.  相似文献

ITO/Au/ITO multilayer thin films were deposited onto polycarbonate substrate via magnetron sputtering technique without intentional heating. The deposition times of both ITO and Au layers were studied to optimize the overall transparency and conductivity. As-prepared thin films were characterized using X-ray diffraction analysis, secondary ion mass spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and physical property measurement system. The optical measurement results revealed that the transmittance of the films were enhanced by increasing the gold deposition time up to 15 s. Beyond this point, further increasing the duration caused a decrease in optical transmittance. Upon optimization of the Au deposition time, the deposition duration of ITO layers was also studied to increase electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE). Maximum EMI SE in this work was measured as 26.8 dB, yielding 99.8% power attenuation, which was verified by simulation results.  相似文献

A magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes-based (MWCNTs-based) composite, MWCNTs/Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4, was synthesized via a facile solvothermal approach. The composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and vibrating sample magnetometry. The results confirmed that MWCNTs and Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 coexisted in the composites. The TEM and HRTEM results showed a thick layer of Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 was intimately connected to the surface of MWCNTs. The saturation magnetization value of the composites was 45.8 emu/g. Furthermore, the probable synthesis mechanism of the magnetic composites was also investigated based on the experimental results.  相似文献

Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-supported tungsten trioxide (WO3) composite catalysts were prepared by liquid-phase process. WO3 nanoparticles grew on the inner and outer surface of MWCNTs. Their photocatalytic activities in the degradation of the Rhodamine B Dye were studied. The effects of mass ratio of MWCNTs to WO3 were discussed. X-ray diffraction, field emission transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis and ultraviolet-visible light absorption spectra were carried out to characterize the composite catalysts. The results indicated that the optimum mass ratio of MWCNTs to WO3 is 5:100.  相似文献

Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 (PZT) nanocrystals and transparent polycarbonate (PC) composite thin films with useful properties for ferroelectric, piezoelectric and electro-optic devices were prepared by a spin-coating technique. Ultra-fine PZT (∼40–50 nm) nanocrystals with pure perovskite tetragonal phase were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The structure and morphology of the composite thin films were studied by means of X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. To obtain the optimum electro-optic properties of poled composite films, the poling condition under an external electric field was optimized through the dielectric properties of PZT and PC polymer and effective field intensity theory. The electro-optic coefficient of the poled PZT/PC composite film is estimated to be 30.5 pm/V. The transparency spectra were measured and the optical band gaps of the unpoled, poled at 145 °C and poled at 165 °C composite thin films are estimated to be 4.26 eV, 4.21 eV and 4.18 eV, respectively. The measured dielectric constants of PZT/PC are in good agreement with the calculated values for the composite with a very small PZT volume fraction, based on the Onsager effective-field theory. This offers a reliable and indirect way to predict the dielectric constant of nanocrystals. PACS 81.40.Tv; 78.66.Sq; 78.66.Vs  相似文献

High aspect ratio multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) reinforced low density polyethylene (LDPE) composites were prepared by solvent casting followed by compression molding technique. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE) of these composites was investigated in the frequency range of 12.4?C18 GHz (Ku-band) for the first time. The experimental results indicate that the EMI-SE of these composites is sensitive to the MWCNT loading. The average value of EMI-SE reaches 22.4 dB for 10 wt% MWCNT-LDPE composites, indicating the usefulness of this material for EMI shielding in the Ku-band. The main reason for improved SE has been attributed to significant improvement in the electrical conductivity of the composites by 20 orders of magnitude, i.e., from 10?20 for pure LDPE to 0.63 S/cm for MWCNT-LDPE, which is three order of magnitude higher than the previous reports for MWCNT-LDPE composites. Differential scanning calorimetry of the MWCNT-LDPE composites showed around 37% improvement in the crystalline contents over pure LDPE samples which resulted into enhanced thermal stability of the composites. The thermal decomposition temperature of LDPE is shifted by 40 °C on addition of 5 wt% MWCNT. The studies therefore show that these composite can be used as light weight, thermally stable EMI shielding, and antistatic material.  相似文献
