We present a systematic perturbation calculation up to the 4th order in the interaction for a metallic-glas-model with an anisotropic coupling of the conduction electrons to a local two-level-system. The logarithmic-(infrared-)divergent terms for the electronic lifetime are suppressed by exponentially small prefactors in the region I (ET) whereas in the region II (ET) they survive in the general case of non-commuting elastic and inelastic couplings in the Hamiltonian, whereE denotes the level-splittings of the local-system, the excitation energy of the conduction electrons above the Fermi level, andT the thermal energy.  相似文献

The Bardeen-Shockley formula for the mobility of an electron or hole in a homopolar semi-conductor is derived in a different way to that in which its authors obtained it. The interaction energy of the electron with the acoustic lattice oscillations is derived in an original way. A new possibility for determining the energy gap is given.

A solution of the stress, deformation and deformation energy is given for an edge dislocation with its dislocation line having the shape of a circle in an unlimited isotropic medium. The possibility of using this solution in studying the dislocation loop in a crystal is discussed.

Quite often the compatibility of the EPR correlations with the relativity theory has been questioned; it has been stated that the first in time of two correlated measurements instantaneously collapses the other subsystem; it has been suggested that a causal asymmetry is built into the Feynman propagator. However, the EPR transition amplitude, as derived from the S matrix, is Lorentz andCPT invariant; the correlation formula is symmetric in the two measurements irrespective of their time ordering, so that the link of the correlations is the Feynman zigzag, and that causality isCPT invariant at the microlevel; finally, although the Feynman propagator has theP andCT symmetries, no causal asymmetry follows from that. As for Stapp's views concerning process and becoming, and his Whiteheadean concept of an advancing front, I object that they belong to factlike macrophysics, and are refuted at the microlevel by the EPR phenomenology, which displays direct Fokker-like space-time connections. The reason for this is a radical one. The very blending of a space-time picture and of a probability calculus is a paradox. The only adequate paradigm is one denying objectivity to space-time—but this, of course, is also required by the complementary of the x and the k pictures, which only look compatible at the macrolevel. Therefore, the classical objectivity must yield in favor of intersubjectivity. Only the macroscopic preparing and measuring devices have factlike objectivity; the transition of the quantal system takes place beyond both thex and thek 4-spaces. Then, the intrinsic symmetries between retarded and advanced waves, and statistical prediction and retrodiction, entails that the future has no less (but no more) existence than the past. It is the future that is significant in creative process, the elementary forms of which should be termed precognition or psychokinesis—respectively symmetric to the factlike taboos that we can neither know into the future nor act into the past. It is gratifying that Robert Jahn, at the Engineering School of Princeton University, is conducting (after others) conclusive experiments demonstrating low level psychokinesis—a phenomenon implied by the very symmetry of the negentropy-information transition. So, what pierces the veil of maya is the (rare) occurrence of paranormal phenomena. The essential severance between act and potentia is not a spacelike advancing front, but the out of and the into factlike space-time. Finally, I do not feel that an adequate understanding of the EPR phenomenology requires going beyond the present status of relativistic quantum mechanics. Rather, I believe that the potentialities of this formalism have not yet been fully exploited.  相似文献

For the Ising model with nearest neighbour interaction it is shown that the spin correlations A B - A B decrease exponentially asd(A, B) in a pure phase when the temperature is well belowT c. This is used to prove that the free energyF(,h) is infinitely differentiable in and has one sided derivatives inh of all orders forh=0. The bounds are also used to prove that the central limit theorem holds for several variables such as e.g. the total energy and the total magnetization of the system, the limit distribution being gaussian with variances determined by the second derivatives ofF(,h).  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the critical resolved shear stress (CRSS) of solid solution single crystals is explained on the basis of random distribution of solute atoms in the alloy. The calculated temperature dependence of CRSS in a crystal with both isolated solute atoms and their pairs is very similar to the experimentally observed one, i.e., the pronounced temperature independent region, so called plateau, appears.  相似文献

We establish the existence of the Wilson Renormalised trajectory of theO(N) sigma model in perturbation theory in the effective charge. A scanning optical fluorescence microscope is suggested, whose active element (needle) is made of a crystal containing impurity ions or color centers subject to excitation by laser radiation. The excitation energy from a single impurity center at the very tip of the needle is transferred by the resonance dipole-dipole exchange mechanism to fluorescence centers on the surface of the sample under study. It is demonstrated that this approach can help attain a nanometer-high spatial resolution at a high sensitivity substantially exceeding in some cases the sensitivity of the standard near-field fluorescence microscopy technique. Various crystals and impurity centers, potentially most suitable for the implementation of the method under consideration, are briefly analyzed. Information is presented on the manufacture of sharp-pointed needles from LiF crystals containing F2-centers and the first observation of single F2-centers on their tips by the laser-photoelectron projection microscopy technique, which allows one to speak of the practical creation of the first active elements for the microscope suggested.Dedicated to Prof. F. Elastic interactions arising from a difference of lattice spacing between two coherent phases can have a strong influence on the phase separation (coarsening) behavior of alloys. If the elastic moduli are different in the two phases, the elastic interactions may accelerate, slow down or even stop the phase separation process. If the material is elastically anisotropic, the precipitates can be shaped like plates or needles instead of spheres and can arrange themselves into highly correlated patterns. Tensions or compressions applied externally to the specimen may have a strong effect on the shapes and arrangement of the precipitates. In this paper, we review the main theoretical approaches that have been used to model these effects and we relate them to experimental observations. The theoretical approaches considered are (i) macroscopic models treating the two phases as elastic media separated by a sharp interface, (ii) mesoscopic models in which the concentration varies continuously across the interface, and (iii) microscopic models which use the positions of individual atoms.  相似文献

The anomalously large spectral inhomogeneity of the electronic bands ( 145 nm) of N,N-dimethylaminobenzonitrile in a polar solution of glycerin demonstrating intramolecular charge transfer in an excited state has been revealed and investigated. In a nonpolar solution of n-hexane there is no substantial manifestation of inhomogeneous broadening. The results obtained are explained by the influence exerted by the luminophor-molecule microsurrounding in a polar solution on the broadening of spectra and by the characteristic features associated with mobile groupings of atoms in the molecule.  相似文献

We use the reference interaction site model (RISM) integral equation theory to study the percolation behavior of fluids composed of long molecules. We examine the roles of hard core size and of length-to-width ratio on the percolation threshold. The critical density c is a nonmonotonic function of these parameters exhibiting competition of different effects. Comparisons with Monte Carlo calculations of others are reasonably good. For critical exponents, the theory yields =2=2 for molecules of any noninfinite lengthL. WhenL is very large, the theory yields cL –2. These predictions compare favorably with observations of the conductivity for random assemblies of conductive fibers. The threshold region where asymptotic scaling holds requires the correlation length (/ c ) –v to be much larger thanL. Evidently, the range of densities in this region diminishes asL increases, requiring that density deviations from c be no larger thanL –2. Otherwise, crossover behavior will be observed.  相似文献

We report SR measurements of Pr2CuO4– and (Pr2–xCex)CuO4– single crystals in the temperature range 4.2K300K. Two spin reorientation phase transitions were observed, although neutron scattering experiment could not detect these phase transitions. These allow us to conclude that magnetic moments of the Cu atoms order in an antiferromagnetic noncollinear cross like structure including a hidden canting spin arrangement.  相似文献

A model is described which has been used in theoretical studies of a variety of phenomena (which are briefly summarized) relating to biological membranes. It is shown that the Hamiltonian describing this model can be mapped onto an Ising Hamiltonian with a temperature dependent field. It is also shown that this field varies linearly with temperature in the critical region. Exact solutions of this model are presented and its first and second order transitions are discussed with an emphasis on obtaining its critical indices. General considerations lead to the following relations: =1/, =, =, where , , , are the critical indices for the specific heat, magnetization, susceptibility and critical isotherm respectively (the primes denoting low temperature indices). These relations are demonstrated explicitly for the Bethe lattice with coordination numbersq=2 and 6.  相似文献

We present the results of observations of the angular structure of the radio source 3C295 at decameter waves using the URAN-1 and URAN-2 interferometers. It is shown that the radio image of 3C295 at these frequencies differs drastically from the structure of this object observed at higher frequencies. The simplest model of the structure of this radio galaxy, comprising one component with a Gaussian brightness distribution of angular size (7.4 ± 0.4)× (8.7± 0.4) at 25 MHz and (9.1± 0.5)× (10.6 ± 0.5) at 20 MHz, is determined. A decrease in the spectral density of the emission with decreasing frequency, observed below 50 MHz, is explained.  相似文献
