Quantum dots' sensitized solar cells (QDSSCs) can create the high-performance and low-cost photovoltaic in the future. In this study, we synthesized the film of TiO2/CdS/CdSe/ZnS photoanodes by successive ionic layer adsorption reaction (SILAR) method. The absorption spectra, photoluminescent spectra and electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) of the film TiO2/CdS/CdSe/ZnS photoanodes show that the structure of energy levels in the conduction band (CB) of photoanode materials CdS, CdSe, and ZnS quantum dots (QDs) can absorb a great number of photons in each region and inject stimulated electrons quickly into the conduction band (CB) of TiO2. Furthermore, we also studied the influence of the SILAR cycles on the dynamic resistance, the lifetime of electrons in QDSSCs through Nyquist and Bode.  相似文献

The TiO2 nanotube arrays (TiO2 NTAs) prepared by re-oxidation were chosen as basement. The NTAs prepared through re-oxidation show smoother surface and more uniform tube mouth on large scale compared with the first as-grown one. We use successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction method to deposit quantum dots (ZnS and CdS) onto the sample successively. The findings reveal that two kinds of quantum dots (~10 nm) distribute regularly and the nanotube mouth is open. From the UV–Vis absorption spectrum of samples, the red shift occurs after the sedimentation of the two quantum dots, which proves that the double modification can expand the absorption to 650 nm. Among all specimens, the sample produced by co-deposition has the highest speed of catalytic efficiency of 90.7% compared with bare TiO2 NTAs (52.9%) and just CdS QDs sensitized sample (65.8%). In the test of photocatalysis durability, the decay percentages of CdS/TiO2 NTAs and ZnS/CdS/TiO2 NTAs were 35.8 and 48.4%, respectively, which means that the ZnS passivation layer plays a crucial role in enhancing photocatalytic activities.  相似文献

ZnS overlayers were deposited on the CdS quantum dot (QD)-assembled TiO2 films, where the CdS QDs were grown on the TiO2 by repeated cycles of the in situ chemical bath deposition (CBD). With increasing the CdS CBD cycles, the CdS QD-assembled TiO2 films were transformed from the TiO2 film partially covered by small CdS QDs (Type I) to that fully covered by large CdS QDs (Type II). The ZnS overlayers significantly improved the overall energy conversion efficiency of both Types I and II. The ZnS overlayers can act as the intermediate layer and energy barrier at the interfaces. However, the dominant effects of the ZnS overlayers were different for the Types I and II. For Type I, ZnS overlayer dominantly acted as the intermediate layer between the exposed TiO2 surface and the electrolyte, leading to the suppressed recombination rate for the TiO2/electrolyte and the significantly enhanced charge-collection efficiency. On the contrary, for Type II, it dominantly acted as the efficient energy barrier at the interface between the CdS QDs and the electrolyte, leading to the hindered recombination rate from the large CdS QDs to the electrolyte and thus enhanced electron injection efficiency.  相似文献

The novel TiO2 nanopartilces/nanowires (TNPWs) composite with ZrO2 nanoparticles (ZNPs) shell-coated photoanodes were prepared to fabricate high-performance dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) based on different types of electrolytes. Hafnium oxide (HfO2) is a new and efficient blocking layer material applied over the TNPWs-ZNPs core-shell photoanode film. TiO2 nanoparticles (TNPs) and TiO2 nanowires (TNWs) were characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). DSSCs were fabricated using the novel photoanodes with an organic sensitizer D149 dye and different types of electrolytes namely liquid electrolyte, ionic liquid electrolyte, solid-state electrolyte, and quasi-solid-state electrolyte. The DSSC-4 made through the novel core-shell photoanode using quasi-solid-state electrolyte showed better photocurrent efficiency (PCE) as compared to the other DSSCs. It has such photocurrent-voltage characteristics: short circuit photocurrent (Jsc)?=?19 mA/cm2, the open circuit voltage (Voc)?=?650 mV, fill factor (FF)?=?65 %, and PCE (η)?=?8.03 %. The improved performance of DSSC-4 is ascribed to the core-shell with blocking layer photoanode could increased electron transport and suppressed recombination of charge carriers at the TNPWs-ZNPs/dye/electrolyte interface.  相似文献

CdS quantum dots (QDs) were introduced as an interface modifier in the poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT)/TiO2 nanorod arrays hybrid photovoltaic device. The presence of CdS QDs interlayer was found to provide enhanced light absorption, increased interfacial recombination resistance at the P3HT/TiO2 interfaces, thus leading to a lower recombination rate of the electrons due to the stepwise structure of band edge in P3HT/CdS/TiO2, which accounts for the observed enhanced photocurrent and photovoltage of the hybrid solar cells. The optimized performance was achieved in P3HT/CdS/TiO2 hybrid solar cells after deposition of CdS QDs for 10 cycles, with a power conversion efficiency of 0.57 %, which is nearly ten times higher than that of P3HT/TiO2. The findings indicate that inorganic semiconductor quantum dots provide effective means to improve the performance of polymer/TiO2 hybrid solar cells.  相似文献

ZnO nanorods (NRs) with regular morphology were prepared through hydrothermal method, and the TiO2 shell was assembled onto the surface of ZnO NRs by spin coating to the ZnO/TiO2 core–shell heterojunction. CdS and PbS quantum dots (QDs) were used to cosensitize the ZnO/TiO2 nanostructure by direct adsorption (DA) and successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction, respectively. SEM, TEM, and HRTEM images show that the samples possessed a rough surface and four lattice fringes indicating the successful synthesis of the ZnO/TiO2/CdS/PbS composite structure. The ZnO/TiO2(10T)/CdS/PbS sample showed a high absorption intensity at a broad range of wavelength to visible light region. The ZnO/TiO2(10T)/CdS/PbS photoelectrode with QDSSCs showed the highest IPCE of 36.04% and photoelectric efficiency (η) of 1.59%; these values increased by approximately 550% and 150% compared with those of unsensitized ZnO (0.29%) and ZnO/TiO2(10T) (1.04%) and about 146% and 120% compared with those of ZnO/TiO2(10T)/CdS and ZnO/TiO2(10T)/PbS, respectively. The fill factor was 0.36, and the photocurrent density (Jsc) and open circuit voltage (Voc) reached the maximum values of 9.73 mA cm−2 and 0.46 V, respectively.  相似文献

The preparation of polyethylene-supported poly(vinylidene fluoride)/cellulose acetate butyrate/nano-SiO2 particle (PVDF-CAB-SiO2/PE) blended gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) is reported here. The electrolyte uptake, mechanical properties, thermal stability, and electrochemical performance of these electrolytes are characterized to evaluate their potential application in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). The results indicate that the particle size of SiO2 can be adjusted by the tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) concentration and affects the physicochemical properties of the membrane. By doping 5 wt.% SiO2 (500 nm) into the PVdF-CAB blended polymer, the porosity of the membrane increases from 40 to 42.3 %, the mechanical strength from 117.3 to 138.7 MPa, the electrolyte uptake from 149 to 195 %, the oxidation decomposition potential from 4.7 to 5.2 V, and the ionic conductivity of the corresponding GPE is improved from 1.16 to 2.98 mS cm?1 at ambient temperature. The PVDF-CAB-SiO2/PE-based GPE and the two electrodes are suitably compatible, and the thermal stability is higher than that of the polyethylene (PE) membrane. The LIBs with the as-prepared GPE also exhibit enhanced discharge capacity and cycle stability, indicating the promising application of these GPEs in LIBs.  相似文献

Photoelectrodes of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have been prepared using nanosized titanium dioxide that have soaked in a solution of different saffron (Crocus sativus L.) spice content in ethanol. The optimized polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based gel polymer electrolyte with 40.93 wt.% ethylene carbonate, 37.97 wt.% propylene carbonate, 4.37 wt.% tetrapropylammonium iodide, 9.86 wt.% PAN, 1.24 wt.% 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium iodide, 4.35 wt.% lithium iodide and 1.28 wt.% iodine has been used as the electrolyte for DSSC. The electrolyte has conductivity of 2.91 mS cm?1 at room temperature (298 K). DSSCs were also sensitized with saffron solution that has been added with 30 wt.% chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) co-adsorbent and designated as DSSC P4. The solar cell converts light-to-electricity at an efficiency of 0.31%. This is 29% enhancement in efficiency for the DSSC without addition of CDCA in the saffron-ethanol solution. The DSSC exhibits current density at short-circuit (J sc ) of 1.26 mA cm?2, voltage at open circuit (V oc ) of 0.48 V and 51% fill factor. DSSC P4 also exhibits the highest incident photon-to-current density of more than 40% at 340 nm wavelength.  相似文献

TiO2 based inverted polymer solar cells (PSCs) with a structure of fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO)/TiO2/P3HT:PCBM/PEDOT:PSS/Ag presented excellent air stabilities,; the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of devices exhibited only 15 % decay as compared to the highest value while being exposed in air-condition for more than 20 days. Interestingly, an overall enhancement of PCE from 3.5 % to 3.9 % was observed while the PSCs were exposed in air-condition up to 3 days; the improvement of performance was attributed to the TiO2 films’ oxygen and water protection effect and the oxidation of Ag, which will benefit to form an effective work function match with the HOMO of P3HT leading to improved ohmic contact. However, the performance slowly decreased when the exposure time remains longer due to the physical adsorbed oxygen. UV–ozone treatment on the TiO2 films’ leads to the formation of a metal-deficient oxide that results in a decreased PCE for the devices. Finally, X-ray photo-emission spectroscopy (XPS) was used to analyze the compositional changes of the TiO2 films while they were exposed in air-condition or treated by UV–ozone.  相似文献

The change in the intensity of the photoluminescence (PL) spectra of nematic liquid crystal (NLC) composites as a function of the concentration of CdSe/ZnS semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) and TiO2 and ZrO2 nanoparticles ~5 nm in diameter has been investigated. It is shown that the PL-quenching intensity in composites with CdSe/ZnS QDs exceeds that in composites with TiO2 and ZrO2 nanoparticles. The lowfrequency spectra of these composites with a concentration of 0.1 wt %, recorded in the range of 102–103 Hz, and the content of mobile ions in them have been investigated. It is found that the dielectric loss in the composite with CdSe/ZnS QDs is much higher and the content of mobile ions is larger by a factor of 3 than in the composites with TiO2 and ZrO2 nanoparticles. It is shown that an increase in the CdSe/ZnS QD concentration in NLC composites leads to an increase in the dielectric loss and a decrease in the PL intensity. Possible mechanisms of the interaction between NLC molecules and CdSe/ZnS QDs are discussed.  相似文献

Si-rich oxide/SiO2 multilayer films with different SiO2 layer thicknesses have been deposited by the plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition technique, and crystallized Si quantum dot (Si-QD)/SiO2 multilayer films are obtained after annealing at 1100 °C. The photoluminescence (PL) intensity of the multilayer films increases significantly with increasing SiO2 layer thickness, and the PL peak shifts from 1.25 eV to 1.34 eV. The PL excitation spectra indicate that the maximal PL excitation intensity is located at 4.1 eV, and an excitation–transfer mechanism exists in the excitation processes. The PL decay time for a certain wavelength is a constant when the SiO2 thickness is larger than 2 nm, and a slow PL decay process is obtained when the SiO2 layer is 1 nm. In addition, the PL peak shifts toward high energy with decreasing temperature only when the SiO2 layer is thick enough. Detailed analyses show that the mechanism of PL changes from the quantum confinement effect to interface defects with decreasing SiO2 layer thickness.  相似文献

SiO2/air three-dimensional (3D) periodic structures were fabricated by removing Si layers partially from Si/SiO2 3D photonic crystals (PhCs) formed by using autocloning. CdS/SiO2 3D periodic structures were formed by introducing CdS into the SiO2/air structures by the TEA method and photoluminescence (PL) was observed from the introduced CdS. TiO2/air/CdS two-dimensional (2D) PhCs were also fabricated by introducing CdS into the voids of TiO2/air 2D periodic structures, in which SiO2 layers were partially etched out from TiO2/SiO2 2D PhCs fabricated by using autocloning. PL radiating normal to the surface was measured and large polarization dependence was observed.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline Li2TiO3 was successfully synthesized using solid-state reaction method. The microstructural and electrochemical properties of the prepared material are systematically characterized. The X-ray diffraction pattern of the prepared material exhibits predominant (002) orientation related to the monoclinic structure with C2/c space group. HRTEM images and SAED analysis reveal the well-developed nanostructured particles with average size of ~40 nm. The electrochemical properties of the prepared sample are carried out using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronopotentiometry (CP) using Pt//Li2TiO3 cell in 1 mol L?1 Li2SO4 aqueous electrolyte. The Li2TiO3 electrode exhibits a specific discharge capacity of 122 mAh g?1; it can be used as anode in Li battery within the potential window 0.0–1.0 V, while investigated as a supercapacitor electrode, it delivers a specific capacitance of 317 F g?1 at a current density of 1 mA g?1 within the potential range ?0.4 to +0.4 V. The demonstration of both anodic and supercapacitor behavior concludes that the nanocrystalline Li2TiO3 is a suitable electrode material for supercapattery application.  相似文献

CdS/CdSe co-sensitizers on TiO2 films were annealed using a two-step procedure; high temperature (300 °C) annealing of TiO2/CdS quantum dots (QDs), followed by low temperature (150 °C) annealing after the deposition of CdSe QDs on the TiO2/CdS. For comparison, two types of films were prepared; CdS/CdSe-assembled TiO2 films conventionally annealed at a single temperature (150 or 300 °C) and non-annealed films. The 300 °C-annealed TiO2/CdS/CdSe showed severe coalescence of CdSe QDs, leading to the blocked pores and hindered ion transport. The QD-sensitized solar cell (QD-SSC) with the 150 °C-annealed TiO2/CdS/CdSe exhibited better overall energy conversion efficiency than that with the non-annealed TiO2/CdS/CdSe because the CdSe QDs annealed at a suitable temperature (150 °C) provided better light absorption over long wavelengths without the hindered ion transport. The QD-SSC using the two-step annealed TiO2/CdS/CdSe increased the cell efficiency further, compared to the QD-SSC with the 150 °C-annealed TiO2/CdS/CdSe. This is because the 300 °C-annealed, highly crystalline CdS in the two-step annealed TiO2/CdS/CdSe improved electron transport through CdS, leading to a significantly hindered recombination rate.  相似文献

CdS quantum dot (QD) sensitized TiO2 nanorod array (NRA) film electrodes with different rod geometries were fabricated via a solvothermal route followed by a sequentialchemical bath deposition (S-CBD) process. By controlling the solution growth conditions, the rod geometries, especially the tip structures, of the TiO2 NRAs were tuned. The results indicated that the vertically aligned hierarchical NRAs possessed conically shaped tip geometry, which was favorable for film electrodes due to the reduced reflectance, enhanced light harvesting, fast charge-carrier separation and transfer, suppression of carrier recombination, sufficient electrolyte penetration and subsequent efficient QD assembly. CdS QD sensitized TiO2 NRA film electrodes with tapered tips exhibited an enhanced photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance, a photocurrent intensity of 5.13 mA/cm2 at a potential of 0 V vs. saturated calomel electrode, an open-circuit potential of −0.68 V vs. saturated calomel electrode and an incident photon to current conversion efficiency (IPCE) of 22% in the visible-light region from 400 to 500 nm. The effects of rod geometry on the optical absorption, reflectance, hydrophilic properties and PEC performance of bare TiO2 and CdS QD sensitized TiO2 NRA film electrodes were investigated. The mechanism of charge-carrier generation and transfer in these CdS QD sensitized solar cells based on vertically aligned TiO2 nanorods is discussed.  相似文献

Enhanced photoluminescence and postirradiation luminescence is reported from Ag+-doping ZnS/CdS/ZnS quantum dot–quantum wells (QDQWs) prepared via a reverse micelle process. Controlling the final mole ratio of water-to-surfactant in H2O/Heptane system, the size of a QDQW was estimated to be ~6 nm. Compared to undoped QDQWs, the doped QDQWs exhibited a much stronger orange emission, with a peak blue shift from 615 to 590 nm; the quantum yield was increased from 2.63 to 9.31%, and the remaining luminescence intensity after 2 h ultraviolet irradiation was increased from 71.2 to 94.7%. This improved quantum yield and postirradiation luminescence intensity for doped QDQWs was ascribed to the introduction of Ag+ ions to CdS wells.  相似文献

The effect of plasticizer and TiO2 nanoparticles on the conductivity, chemical interaction and surface morphology of polymer electrolyte of MG49–EC–LiClO4–TiO2 has been investigated. The electrolyte films were successfully prepared by solution casting technique. The ceramic filler, TiO2, was synthesized in situ by sol-gel process and was added into the MG49–EC–LiClO4 electrolyte system. Alternating current electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was employed to investigate the ionic conductivity of the electrolyte films at 25 °C, and the analysis showed that the addition of TiO2 filler and ethylene carbonate (EC) plasticizer has increased the ionic conductivity of the electrolyte up to its optimum level. The highest conductivity of 1.1 × 10−3 Scm−1 was obtained at 30 wt.% of EC. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy measurement was employed to study the interactions between lithium ions and oxygen atoms that occurred at carbonyl (C=O) and ether (C-O-C) groups. The scanning electron microscopy micrograph shows that the electrolyte with 30 wt.% EC posses the smoothest surface for which the highest conductivity was obtained.  相似文献

The rheology and dispersion behavior of ethylene‐vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer/TiO2 masterbatches prepared by melt‐compounding were investigated. The pure EVA exhibits obviously pseudoplastic behavior and the apparent viscosity decreases remarkably at experimental temperatures, especially in the range of 100–500 s?1. The EVA/TiO2 masterbatches exhibit similar shear rheology behavior with pure EVA and the apparent viscosities are obviously higher than that of pure EVA when the TiO2 content is above 10 wt.%. Field‐emission scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM) and energy dispersive x‐ray spectroscopy (EDX) show that relatively low TiO2 loading and moderate shear rate are helpful for the improvement of dispersion behavior of TiO2 nanoparticles; moreover, the dispersion behavior of TiO2 greatly influences the melt viscosity. The extensional rheology of pure EVA decreases with increasing extension rate, especially at low melt temperatures. EVA/TiO2 masterbatches have similar extensional rheology behavior as pure EVA and the TiO2 loading has almost no influence on the extensional viscosity of materbatches.  相似文献

In the present paper, photovoltaic studies of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on betacyanin/TiO2 and betacyanin/WO3–TiO2 have been done. The cell performances were compared through IV curves and wavelength dependant photocurrent measurements for the two new types of DSSCs. The TiO2-coated DSSC showed the photovoltage and photocurrent of 300 mV and 4.96 mA/cm2, whereas the cell employing WO3–TiO2 photoelectrode showed the values 435 mV and 9.86 mA/cm2, respectively. The conversion efficiency of TiO2 based dye-sensitized solar cell was found to be 0.69 %, while WO3–TiO2-based cell exhibited a higher conversion efficiency of 2.2 %. The better performance of the WO3–TiO2 dye-sensitized solar cell photoelectrode is thought to be due to an inherent energy barrier at the electrode/electrolyte interface leading to the reduced recombination of photoinduced electrons.  相似文献

Recently, spinel-type binary metal oxides have attracted enormous interest in energy storage devices. In supercapacitors improving energy density is still challenging task and the composite nanostructures are found to address this issue in some extent. Herein, a composite nanostructure based on ZnCo2O4/CdS was synthesized on nickel foam using hydrothermal and successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) methods. A hydrothermally synthesized ZnCo2O4 nanoflowers were coated by CdS nanoparticles by varying SILAR cycles and studied its electrochemical performance. The ZnCo2O4/CdS nanostructured electrode with optimized four SILAR cycles of CdS coating exhibited a high areal capacity, energy density and power density of 2658 mCcm−2, 517 μWhcm−2 and 17.5 mWcm−2 at 25 mA, which is higher than pristine ZnCo2O4. This work show ZnCo2O4/CdS nanostructure is a favorable electrode for supercapacitors.  相似文献
