We report the realization of a monolithic vertical-cavity, surface emitting micro-optical parametric conversion nanostructure, triply resonant with the parametric frequencies, allowing parametric oscillation with ultra-low pump power threshold. The photonic phase-space naturally provides triple resonance for the parametric frequencies, together with built-in cavity phase matching for the pump wave at normal incidence. Parametric oscillation is observed in both the strong and weak exciton–photon coupling regime, allowing high operating temperature. Signal and idler beams can be collected at 0 or at finite angles. The OPO threshold is low enough to envisage the realization of an all-semiconductor electrically-pumped micro-parametric oscillator.  相似文献

We report a high-reflectivity non-periodic sub-wavelength gratings (SWGs) mirror with small-angle beam-steering ability for reflect light. It presents a distinctive characteristic of flexibly controlling the width of oscillation optical field for the improved Fabry–Perot (F–P) cavity. We propose a detailed principle analysis of the improved cavity. By finding out a set of SWGs with the designed structural parameters, both high reflectivity (>?93%) and beam steering (1°) can be implemented. By setting beam-steering angle and cavity length, we can control the width of oscillation optical field in the improved cavity. Beam steering ability and property of controlling the oscillation width are numerically investigated by finite element method. Simulation results prove that cavity length and steering angle can effectively control the main width of oscillation optical field, and the width is linearly associated with the cavity length.  相似文献

The cavity length of an internal-mirror HeNe laser was controlled using a thin film heater coated on the tube. The response speed was about ten times higher than that of the usual tube wound with a ribbon heater. The high response speed brought two merits in frequency stabilization of the laser; one was improvement of stability in the short time region and the other was the realization of a thermal modulation method, by which the cavity was stabilized at Lamb's dip.  相似文献

 基于传输矩阵理论,针对端面抽运的U型腔Nd∶YVO4固体激光器谐振腔的稳定性进行了理论分析和数值模拟。通过改变“U”型腔各个臂长得到不同腔臂长条件下谐振腔的稳区范围和晶体中心处的振荡光斑,比较稳区范围以及振荡光斑,找出一组腔参数值使谐振腔能够在较高泵浦功率下保持稳定且振荡光斑足够理想。按照确定的腔参数值进行了具体实验,实验结果表明:按选定参数设计的谐振腔在调Q重复频率为100kHz,泵浦功率为60W时,激光器能够稳定工作并输出21.6W的高重频激光,谐振腔稳区范围的变化规律与理论计算基本吻合。  相似文献

The oscillation of a laser-generated single cavitation bubble near a solid boundary is investigated by a fiber-optic diagnostic technique based on optical beam deflection (OBD). The maximum bubble radii and collapse time for each oscillation cycle are determined from a sequence of bubble oscillations. Furthermore, by combining the revised Rayleigh theory, the prolongation factor κ at different dimensionless parameter γ (γ=L/Rmax, where Rmax is the maximum bubble radius and L is the distance of a cavity inception point from a boundary) is obtained. In addition, the prolongation factor of the collapse time versus laser energy is also derived, which are valuable in the fields of hydraulic cavitation, laser lithotripsy and laser ophthalmology.  相似文献

The steady-state amplification of light beam during two-wave mixing in photorefractive materials has been analysed in the strong nonlinear regime. The oscillation conditions for unidirectional ring resonator have been studied. The signal beam can be amplified in the presence of material absorption, provided the gain due to the beam coupling is large enough to overcome the cavity losses. Such amplification is responsible for the oscillations. The gain bandwidth is only a few Hz. In spite of such an extremely narrow bandwidth, unidirectional oscillation can be observed easily at any cavity length in ring resonators by using photorefractive crystals as the medium and this can be explained in terms of the photorefractive phase-shift. The presence of such a phase-shift allows the possibility of the non-reciprocal steady-state transfer of energy between the two light beams. Dependence of gain bandwidth on coupling constant, absorption coefficient of the material’s cavity length (crystal length) and modulation ratio have also been studied.   相似文献

A new technique of alternate two-wavelength oscillation of a CO2 laser is discussed for application to various differential absorption spectroscopic measurements. Power-balanced, two-adjacent branch oscillation using a single CO2 laser was achieved by modulating the angle of a mirror inside the laser cavity and adjusting automatically the cavity length. The two-wavelength modulation frequency was extended up to about 1.2 kHz. Line tuning and power modulation characteristics were studied. The laser was used in long-path differential absorption measurements of ethylene air pollution molecules to demonstrate the capability of this power-balanced, two-wavelength oscillation method. The minimum detectable absorption was nearly 1×10–3 in a short-path cell experiment and 3×10–3 in a long-path experiment.  相似文献

The stability enhancement of laser output power for the change of external cavity position in semiconductor lasers with optical feedback is observed by experiment. The relaxation oscillation frequency which plays an important role in the dynamics of the nonlinear system is also investigated as a function of the external cavity length. The period of the stability enhancement along the position of the external cavity is exactly coincident with the length corresponding to the relaxation oscillation frequency of the solitary laser. The experimental results are compared with theoretical and excellent coincidence between the two is found.  相似文献

We investigate a system consisting of multiple ring lasers coupled by a single gain medium. All the ring lasers share a common feedback arm. The output power of an individual laser shows periodic oscillations as a function of time. The periodicity of the oscillation is determined by the ratio of the roundtrip times of the feedback arm and the ring cavity. In the case that two of such ring lasers are coupled, either their oscillation periodicities are synchronized, or the system is bi-stable. In the latter operation regime, the system can act as an optical flip-flop memory whose state be switched by injection of external light. The concept can be extended to multi-state operations; an eight-state optical flip-flop memory is experimentally demonstrated.  相似文献

对由三个反射面构成的复合式法珀腔的光纤法珀压力传感器进行了输出光谱理论分析,提取了含有传感器腔长信息的包络.提出了基于干涉级次拟合的解调算法,仿真分析了传感法珀腔腔长范围为160~215μm的光谱信号.结果显示,在不同信噪比下,基于干涉级次拟合的算法可获得较好的测量准确度,同一信噪比下,该准确度不依赖腔长变化,也不依赖光谱解调波长分辨率变化.实验结果表明,基于干涉级次拟合结果曲线残差的均方根差为0.012μm,验证了该算法的有效性.  相似文献

混沌外腔半导体激光器输出明显存在弛豫振荡特征,弛豫振荡频率小于外腔振荡频率时,外腔半导体激光器输出态是短腔机制;反之,外腔半导体激光器输出态是长腔机制.首先对比分析了弛豫振荡频率为5.6 GHz,腔长对频谱有效带宽的影响.然后同时调节注入电流和载流子寿命来大幅度地增加弛豫振荡频率.最后在弛豫振荡频率为40 GHz、腔长为毫米级(4—20 mm)时,实现由短腔机制到长腔机制的转换,进而分析了外腔反馈率和外腔长对外腔半导体激光器频谱带宽的影响.分析结果表明:短腔机制下,输出混沌态不稳定,0.1 mm的偏差就会导致混沌态与非混沌态之间的转化;长腔机制下,输出混沌态稳定,输出混沌区域较大,证明长腔机制下更有益于获得宽带连续的混沌区域.在弛豫振荡频率为40 GHz、外腔长度为毫米级时,实现了外腔半导体激光器的长腔机制,从而增大了高带宽混沌的参数空间.  相似文献

通过分析广义传输线理论中的模式耦合系数,优化设计了一支94GHz光滑缓变结构回旋管,当电子注电压50kV,电流6A,横纵速度比1.4,工作磁场3.548 5T时,在频率94.099GHz处得到了41%互作用效率,约120kW的功率输出;与折变结构回旋管相比,缓变结构回旋管中的工作模式纯度提高约27dB,注波互作用效率提高约7%。基于自洽非线性理论计算的互作用效率与PIC模拟结果有较好的一致性。  相似文献

The presence of a cavity in the pressure surface of an airfoil has been found via experiment to play a role in the production of airfoil tones, which was attributed to the presence of an acoustic feedback loop. The cavity length was sufficiently small that cavity oscillation modes did not occur for most of the investigated chord-based Reynolds number range of 70,000–320,000. The airfoil tonal noise frequencies varied as the position of the cavity was moved along a parallel section at the airfoil's maximum thickness: specifically, for a given velocity, the frequency spacing of the tones was inversely proportional to the geometric distance between the cavity and the trailing edge. The boundary layer instability waves considered responsible for the airfoil tones were only detected downstream of the cavity. This may be the first experimental verification of these aspects of the feedback loop model for airfoil tonal noise.  相似文献

A line tunable singly resonant noncritically phase matched narrow band width ZnGeP2 (ZGP) optical parametric oscillator pumped by the output idler radiation from a KTA OPO based on a 20 mm long KTA crystal pumped from a Q-switched Gaussian shaped Nd:YAG laser beam with a grating having grooves density 85 lines/mm has been demonstrated in the spectral ranges of 3–7 μm. The measured threshold of oscillation energy was 10 μJ. The conversion efficiency was 20.5% and slope efficiency of the ZGP OPO was 20% using a 23 mm long ZGP crystal at 26 mm cavity length. Line width of the generated infrared radiation from ZGP OPO was 37–60 nm.  相似文献

It is well known that the Casimir Energy depends on the geometry of the conducting cavity. 讨论了提高3 391 nm He-Ne激光器输出功率稳定性的相关技术问题.设计了适合该激光器的腔体结构,研究了放电参量和稳定性.在反射镜曲率半径与腔长比值为1.6,有效放电长度为0.2 m的情况下,得到了1.72 mW的多模连续输出,其光束发散角为6.43 mrad.在采用光反馈稳定技术后,功率输出的变化不大于2%.  相似文献

本文根据四腔强流相对论速调管设计过程中出现的高次模振荡现象,采用电磁场软件模拟,分析了这种振荡的产生原因,给出抑制这种高次模振荡的方法.利用二维和三维模拟软件,研究了谐振腔谐振频率、谐振腔Q值、漂移管长度、特性阻抗等参数的变化对高次模振荡的影响,模拟上验证了高次模振荡抑制方法的有效性,并在输出端模拟获得了功率2.13 GW、效率26%、增益60 dB的输出微波,实现了2D,3D中高次模振荡的有效抑制.最终在实验中获得了功率1.9 GW、效率24%、增益61 dB的输出微波.  相似文献

Wavelength tuning characteristics of a Fabry-Perot semiconductor laser with an external short cavity are analyzed, in which the oscillation wavelength can be changed by slightly altering the external cavity length. Analysis is based on rate equations for an optical power and carrier density. It is shown that the wavelength tuning range is dominated by a change of carrier density through the effect of carrier-induced refractive index change in the active layer of a laser diode. This depends on effective coupling coefficients of the optical field iteratively reflected back to the laser diode by the external mirror, and on reflection coefficients of an anti-reflection coated laser facet and the external mirror which compose the external cavity. The effective coupling coefficient is also derived using the waveguide theory and Kirchhoff ’s theory. Finally, an unstable condition which may limit a stable wavelength tuning range is shown by results of a linear stability analysis of rate equations.  相似文献

Renormalization-group arguments are summarized which suggest that at distances shorter than the Planck length the spacetime geometry should be asymptotically scale invariant. A new locally scale-invariant extension of general relativity is then proposed based on Weyl's conformally invariant geometry. It is shown that if the theory contains a Higgs phase, then it reduces to Einstein's theory in the limit of large distances. Finally, the theory incorporates the non-linear sigma model, which suggests a new approach to the calculation of non-perturbative, short-distance effects in quantum gravity.  相似文献
