The beta-decay of the N = Z, even-even nucleus 72Kr has been studied at the ISOLDE PSB facility at CERN. Measurements of βγ and βγγ coincidences have enriched the decay scheme of the daughter nucleus 72Br with 27 new low spin levels. A more precise half-life of T 1/2 = 17.1(2) s has been determined. Strong feeding to the 72Br ground state is established yielding an unambiguous J π = 1+ assignment for this state. Candidates for the 72Br g.s. wave function are discussed in the framework of a self-consistent deformed mean-field calculation with SG2 Skyrme force and pairing correlations. A search for beta-delayed particle emission was made and an upper limit of 10-6 for this decay branch obtained. The cumulated experimental level density of 1+ states has been fitted with the constant temperature formula. The comparison indicates that most likely all 1+ levels up to 1.2 MeV have been observed in this investigation. The corresponding nearest-neighbour level spacing does not follow a Poisson distribution. The Gamow-Teller strength distribution is compared, in terms of nuclear deformation, with different calculations made in the framework of the quasiparticle random phase approximation. We have performed large-scale shell model calculations of the Gamow-Teller strength distributions in NZ pf -shell nuclei. These calculations were motivated by the experimental attempts to measure the low-lying GT strength for the even-even N = Z + 2 or N = Z - 2 nuclei 46Ti , 50Cr , 54Fe and 62Ge , where a sizable low-energy GT strength could be interpreted as reminiscence of SU(4) symmetry; in the limit of exact SU(4) symmetry the GT- strength would be concentrated in a single transition to the lowest T = 0, J = 1+ state in the daughter. We confirm that the SU(4) symmetry is strongly broken by the spin-orbit interaction and by increasing neutron excess.  相似文献

High-spin states in 79Rb were populated in the reaction at E(beam) = 60 MeV. The lifetimes of the excited states of the positive-parity yrast band and of the negative-parity band in 79Rb were measured by the Doppler Shift Attenuation Method. The deduced transition quadrupole moments Qt are found to have a decreasing trend with rotational frequency for both the bands, consistent with those found experimentally in neighbouring nuclei. Neutron-deficient nuclei in the mass region A≈ 90-100 exhibit a large variety of phenomena. In this region the heaviest N = Z nuclei are identified and enhanced neutron-proton correlations are expected when protons and neutrons occupy identical orbitals. A variety of nuclear shapes are predicted and observed for A? 91, including superdeformed shapes. The nucleus 100Sn is the heaviest N = Z doubly magic nucleus believed to be bound. Knowledge of the shell structure around 100Sn is of utmost importance for understanding the nuclear shell model. New results on both the N = Z nucleus 88Ru, superdeformed structures in A≈ 90 nuclei as well as the first result on the level structure in 103Sn, and an extended level structure in 102In are presented. The 136I nucleus, populated in the spontaneous fission of 248Cm, was studied by means of prompt γ-ray spectroscopy using the EUROGAM2 array. The observation in this work of the 42.6keV prompt-γ, M1 + E2 transition de-exciting the 7- level in 136I indicates that this level, interpreted as the configuration, does not correspond to the T = 47s, β-decaying isomer in 136I. The isomer is placed 42.6keV below the 7- level. It has spin 6- and is interpreted as the configuration. This and other members of both multiplets can be reproduced properly only if one assumes that the πd5/2 orbital in 136I is located 400keV lower than in 133Sb. Possible mechanisms causing this effect are discussed.  相似文献

The electric quadrupole coupling constants eqQ/h of 8B (, T 1/2 = 769 ms) and 13B (, T 1/2 = 17.4 ms) in single crystal TiO2 have been precisely measured by the β-NQR technique. The ratios of these Q moments to Q(12B) were determined as ∣Q(8B)/Q(12B)∣ = 4.882(32) and ∣Q(13B)/Q(12B)∣ = 2.768(24).  相似文献

Cluster states up to 12 MeV in the stable light nucleus 21Ne, based on the 16O + n + α molecular configurations, have been populated in the incomplete-fusion reaction 16 8O(73Li, np)2110Ne at 29.4 MeV. The observation of both intra- and inter-band transitions leads to a re-interpretation of some levels in the Kπ = - and Kπ = - bands. The implications of this re-ordering on the octupole doublet bands are examined. The data allow a more accurate determination of some previously uncertain level energies. The “missing” Iπ = - level is also discussed.  相似文献

The decay of the isotopes 255Rf, 251No and 247Fm produced in the reactions , and was investigated by means of α-γ spectroscopy. Previously observed γ transitions in coincidence with α decays of 255Rf were confirmed, their energies and line intensities were measured more precisely, and their multipolarities were determined as E1. In 251No a new isomeric state at E * > 1700keV with a half-life of ≈ 2μs was identified. The decay of 247Fm was measured more precisely. A partial level scheme of the daughter nucleus 243Cf could be established.  相似文献

In the past ten years, nuclear chemists have made considerable progress in developing fast on-line separation techniques, which allowed to chemically characterize the first four transactinide elements Rf (rutherfordium, Z = 104), Db (dubnium, Z = 105), Sg (seaborgium, Z = 106), and recently also Bh (bohrium, Z = 107). In all cases the isolated nuclides were unambiguously identified by observing genetically linked decay chains. Nuclides with production cross-sections of less than 100 pb and half-lives as short as a few seconds have been chemically isolated. Thus, chemists have discovered or significantly contributed to the characterization of the nuclear-decay properties of a number of transactinide nuclei. New techniques with greatly improved overall efficiencies should allow chemists to extend their studies to even heavier elements such as Hs (hassium, Z = 108) and to the recently discovered superheavy elements with Z = 112 and 114, which can be produced only with picobarn cross-sections. Challenged by recent theoretical work, a study of the -EC decay of the N = Z even-even nucleus 76 Sr has been undertaken in order to assign the parent ground-state deformation. In this study 13 levels with have been located in 76 Rb. The beta-delayed proton emission has been observed for the first time in an N = Z even-even nucleus. The p branching ratio has been determined to be . The 76 Sr half-life has been remeasured and a more precise value of s has been obtained. In dilatonic cosmology model, we study the behavior of attractor solution in ωω′ plane, which is defined by the equation of state parameter for the dark energy and its derivative with respect to N (the logarithm of the scale factor a). This is a good method which is useful to the study of classifying the dynamical dark energy models including “freezing” and “thawing” model. We find that our model belongs to “freezing” type model classified in ωω′ plane. We show mathematically the property of attractor solutions which correspond to ω σ =−1, Ω σ =1. The present values of energy density parameter , and are 0.715001, 0.284972 and 0.00002706 respectively, which meet the current observations well. Finally, we can obtain that the coupling between dilaton and matter affects the evolutive process of the Universe, but not the fate of the Universe.  相似文献

The momentum dependences of the nuclear spin polarization P and alignment A of 13B(, T 1/2 = 17.36 ms) produced in the 100A MeV 15N + Be collisions have been measured by detecting β-ray asymmetry. Because both the P and A were significantly smaller than the prediction from a simple kinematical model, some relaxation mechanisms must be take into account. Comparing the signs of the observed alignment of 12B, the sign of the quadrupole coupling constant eqQ of 13B in TiO2 was determined to be positive.  相似文献

Recent mass measurements show a substantial weakening of the binding-energy difference δ2p(Z, N) = E(Z - 2, N) - 2E(Z, N) + E(Z + 2, N) in the neutron-deficient Pb isotopes. As δ2p is often attributed to the size of the proton magic gap, it might be speculated that reduction in δ2p is related to a weakening of the spherical Z = 82 shell. We demonstrate that the observed trend is described quantitatively by self-consistent mean-field models in terms of deformed ground states of Hg and Po isotopes. Lifetimes of low-lying yrast states in 186Pb and 194Po have been determined by employing, for the first time, the recoil-decay tagging technique in recoil distance Doppler-shift lifetime measurements. In addition, lifetime measurements of prolate states in 188Pb up to the 8+ state were carried out using the recoil gating method. The nuclear spectroscopic quadrupole moments for the πh9/25/2-, 1/2-[541] and the πh11/29/2-, 9/2-[514] isomeric states in 169Ta have been measured employing the time differential perturbed angular-distribution technique following the nuclear reaction 159Tb(16O, 6nγ)169Ta at beam energy 104 MeV. The ratio of the intrinsic quadrupole moments has been derived as 1.87(13) from the measured quadrupole precession frequencies of the corresponding states. The model-independent analysis of the equilibrium deformation indicates strong prolate- and oblate-driving nature of the 1/2-[541] and 9/2-[514] orbitals in 169,171Ta isotopes, respectively.  相似文献

Self-consistent solutions of the nonlinear Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equations are investigated numerically for a superconducting (SC) cylinder, placed in an axial magnetic field, with a single vortex on the axis (m=1). Two modes, which show the original state of the cylinder, SC or normal (s 0 andn 0), are studied. The field increase (FI) and the field decrease (FD) regimes are studied. The critical fields destroying the SC state withm=1 are found in both regimes. It is shown that in a cylinder of radiusR and GL-parameter ϰ, there exist a number of solutions depending only on the radial co-ordinater corresponding to different states such as M,e, d, p,i, n, ,n *, and the state diagram on the plane of the variables (ϰ,R) is described. The critical fields corresponding to intrastate transitions and the onset of hysteresis are obtained. The critical fieldH 0(R) dividing the paramagnetic and diamagnetic states of the cylinder withm=1 is determined. The limiting fields of supercooling or superheating of the normal state at which the restoration of the SC state occurs are established. It is shown, that (in both casesm=1,0) there exist two critical parameters, and , which divide bulk SC into three groups (with and ), in accordance with the behavior in a magnetic field. The parameters and mark the boundary for the existence of a supercooled normal -state in FD-regime and a superheated SC M-state in FI-regime respectively. It is shown, that the value , which was claimed in a number of papers as related to type-I superconductors, is illusory. The reaction 54Fe(, p)55Fe was studied at the Munich Q3D spectrograph with a 14MeV polarized deuteron beam. Excitation energies, angular distributions and analyzing powers were measured for 39 states up to 4.5MeV excitation energy. Spin and parity assignments were made and spectroscopic factors deduced by comparison to DWBA calculations. The results were compared to predictions by large-scale shell model calculations in the full pf -shell and it was found that reasonable agreement for energies and spectroscopic factors below 2.5MeV could only be obtained if up to 6 particles were allowed to be excited from the f 7/2 orbital into p 3/2 , f 5/2 , and p 1/2 orbitals across the N = 28 gap. For levels above 2.5MeV the experimental strength distribution was found to be significantly more fragmented than predicted by the shell model calculations.  相似文献
