The actively Q-switched solid-state yellow Raman laser with intracavity frequency doubling has attracted extensive research due to its high efficiency, simplicity and compactness. In this paper, the normalized space-dependent rate equations of this kind of lasers are deduced and analyzed to illustrate the effects of the composite variables on the yellow-laser performance, and several general curves are generated. The optimized values of the composite parameters are analyzed for the efficient yellow-laser output. In the end, application examples are given to shown that these theoretical results can predict the performance of actively Q-switched intracavity frequency-doubled solid-state yellow Raman lasers effectively.  相似文献

The intracavity photon density and the initial population-inversion density in the diode-pumped passively Q-switched lasers are assumed to be Gaussian spatial distributions. The space-dependent rate equations are solved numerically. The key parameters of an optimally coupled passively Q-switched laser under Gaussian approximation are determined, and a group of general curves are generated for the first time. These key parameters include the optimal normalized coupling parameter and the optimal normalized saturable absorber parameter that maximize the output energy, and the corresponding normalized energy, normalized peak power, and normalized pulse width. The curves clearly show the dependence of the optimal key parameters on the parameters of the gain medium, the saturable absorber, and the resonator. In addition, the importance including the space variation is also shown. The optimal calculations for a diode-pumped passively Nd: YVO4 laser are presented to demonstrate the use of the curves and the related formulas.  相似文献

The theory of transient mode-locking for an active modulator in a laser with a homogeneously broadened line is presented. The theory is applied to simultaneously Q-switched and mode-locked Nd:YAG lasers and good agreement between theory and experiment is obtained. The main conclusion is that under usual Q-switched operating conditions the mode-locking process does not have sufficient time to build up to steady-state conditions. We also present a method to overcome this problem by allowing the laser to prelase before the Q-switch is opened. Mode-locked pulses whose width approaches the steady-state value are obtained. The transient mode-locking theory presented here also applies to actively mode-locking TEA CO2 lasers and to other types of simultaneously pulsed and mode-locked lasers.  相似文献

The expressions of pulse characteristics such as output energy, peak power, and pulse width are obtained by solving the coupled rate equations describing the operation of GaAs semiconductor saturable absorber Q-switched lasers. The key parameters of an optimally coupled GaAs saturable absorber Q-switched laser are determined and several design curves are generated from these expressions for the first time. These key parameters include the optimal normalized coupling parameters and the optimal normalized saturable absorber parameters that maximize the output energy or maximize the peak power, and the corresponding normalized energy, normalized peak power, and normalized pulse width. Using the expressions and design curves, one can predict the pulse characteristics and perform the design of an optimally coupled GaAs saturable absorber Q-switched laser.  相似文献

用时域ABCD矩阵讨论了调Q锁模脉冲激光器输出脉冲的宽度和啁啾特性,主要给出了调Q元件作为幅度调制元件时的时域ABCD矩阵,并将光脉冲在激光腔中往返一周的ABCD矩阵写出,用此矩阵讨论了它对锁模脉冲的影响.给出了Nd:YAG激光器中用Cr4+:YAG作调Q元件时的调Q锁模脉冲激光器特性,并讨论了腔内色散、饱和吸收强度、增益带宽对输出脉冲特性的影响.用时域ABCD矩阵大大简化了计算过程.  相似文献

基于Yb3+抽运动力学,结合光线追迹的方法,建立了抽运过程中的放大自发辐射模型,得到激光介质中三维含时储能分布.将速率方程理论和角谱传播理论结合,对谐振腔内调Q脉冲的形成、传播过程进行建模计算,得到激光脉冲的时间-空间分布和光束质量因子变化规律.同时进行了激光二极管抽运重频Yb:YAG片状激光器电光调Q实验,并与模拟计算的结果进行了对比校核,印证了计算模型的正确性.这为主动调Q固体激光器的设计提供了参考. 关键词: Yb:YAG激光器 Q')" href="#">调Q 时空演化  相似文献

采用氙灯泵浦新型晶体Nd:Sr5(PO4)3F,以KTP晶体腔内倍频,实现了该晶体0.5295μm绿光激光BDN染料片调Q运转。测量了输出绿光激光的特性及不同腔长和染料片小信号透过率情况下的输出能量及脉冲宽度,给出了染料片调Q腔内倍频的耦合波方程组,数值求解该方程组,所得的理论数据与实验结果较好地相符。  相似文献
