We study the excitation of nonlinear dissipative oscillator under influence of a monochromatic force at the level of a few quanta. With this purpose we consider an optical parametric oscillator combined with phase-modulation in which the oscillatory mode is excited through down-conversion process under a monochromatic laser field. The temporal Rabi oscillations of Fock states as well as the properties of oscillatory mode in phase space are studied with use of the Wigner functions.  相似文献

The semiclassical dynamics of a quantum nonlinear oscillator with two degrees of freedom and anharmonicity of the fourth order in a periodic laser field is studied both analytically and numerically. In the absence of external excitation and dissipation, the equations of motion for the mean values of the coordinate and momentum operators of both degrees of freedom reduce to the equation of a onedimensional nonlinear pendulum. The general solution of this equation is written in terms of the Jacobian elliptic functions. As can be expected, the energy of the free oscillator is redistributed periodically between degrees of freedom. The periodic excitation of the nonlinear oscillator may substantially change its motion pattern. Using as an example an oscillator with two coupled vibrational degrees of freedom, it is numerically shown that the amount of laser photons absorbed depending on the parameter values and initial conditions may vary with time in a rather complex manner, including chaotic oscillations. A nonlinear oscillator is capable of manifesting bistable behavior with allowance for dissipation. The analytical condition for the origination of bistability is found. Examples of the bistable dependence of the number of quanta in the oscillator vibrational mode on the level of laser excitation are presented.  相似文献

We report on a low-noise diode laser oscillator at 972?nm actively stabilized to an ultrastable vibrationally and thermally compensated reference cavity. To increase the fraction of laser power in the carrier we designed a 20?cm long external cavity diode laser with an intracavity electro-optical modulator. The fractional power in the carrier reaches 99.9%, which corresponds to an rms phase noise of φ(rms)2=1?mrad2 in 10?MHz bandwidth. Using this oscillator, we recorded 1S-2S spectra in atomic hydrogen and have not observed any significant loss of the excitation efficiency due to phase noise multiplication in the three consecutive two-photon processes.  相似文献

Single-mode operation of a KrF laser oscillator has been achieved for the first time. The laser medium is pumped by an electron beam which allows excitation for a much longer duration than with discharge pumping. The long excitation time, together with the use of a short oscillator cavity with a low single-pass gain, allows many roundtrips before saturation is reached. We measure the spectral densities of fluctuations of an underdamped nonlinear micromechanical oscillator. By applying a sufficiently large periodic excitation, two stable dynamical states are obtained within a particular range of driving frequency. White noise is injected into the excitation, allowing the system to overcome the activation barrier and switch between the two states. While the oscillator predominately resides in one of the two states for most frequencies, a narrow range of frequencies exist where the occupations of the two states are approximately equal. At these frequencies, the oscillator undergoes a kinetic phase transition that resembles the phase transition of thermal equilibrium systems. We observe a supernarrow peak in the spectral densities of fluctuations of the oscillator. This peak is centered at the excitation frequency and arises as a result of noise-induced transitions between the two dynamical states.  相似文献

Preparation of nonclassical states that are described by negative Wigner functions is studied for an anharmonic oscillator under parametric excitation (AOPE). The over-transient pulsed regime of AOPE driven by a train of Gaussian laser pulses is analyzed. The results are obtained by complete consideration of dissipative and decoherence effects.  相似文献

The response of an optical frequency comb from an etalon-based coupled optoelectronic oscillator to changes in drive current, optoelectronic loop phase, modulator bias, and laser cavity length has been measured. It is found that controlling the phase of the optoelectronic loop is best suited for control of the pulse repetition rate, whereas controlling the laser cavity length is best for stabilization of the optical carrier frequency. Moreover, by measuring the instabilities of the carrier frequency at the fixed-point frequency of the optoelectronic phase, changes to the optoelectronic phase can be decoupled from changes to the laser cavity.  相似文献

理论分析与数值研究了光电振荡器输出的混沌激光特性, 基于自相关分析方法, 详细研究了光电振荡器的直流偏置相移和反馈强度等工作参数对输出信号时延信息的影响. 数值研究表明: 增加反馈强度可以使时延信息变得更加微弱甚至消除; 相同条件下, 直流偏置相移对应的工作点越接近马赫-曾德尔调制器传输特性曲线的极值点, 时延信息越弱; 直流偏置相移为0时可以有效地抑制时延信息. 研究还发现, 当直流偏置相移和反馈调制产生的相移变化π/2时, 自相关曲线上对应于延迟时间处的相关系数符号发生变化. 关键词: 宽带混沌激光 延迟时间 光电振荡器  相似文献

A harmonic oscillator model is used to demonstrate the possibility of coherent control of acoustic vibrations of metal nanoparticles and thin films with sequences of femtosecond laser pulses. When the interval between the pulses in such a sequence is chosen equal to the oscillation period of the expansion mode of a nanoscale system, the relevant acoustic vibrations can be excited in a resonant and selective way. Sequences of femtosecond pulses with picosecond time intervals between the pulses are shown to be ideally suited for a resonant excitation and coherent control of acoustic modes of silver nanoparticles.  相似文献

mCherry is a red fluorescent protein which is bright, photostable, and has a low molecular weight. It is an attractive choice for multiphoton fluorescence imaging; however, the multiphoton excitation spectrum of mCherry is not known. In this paper we report the two photon excitation spectrum of mCherry measured up to 1190 nm in the near infrared (NIR) region. Skin tissues of transgenic mice that express mCherry were used in the experiments. mCherry in the tissues was excited with a Titanium:Sapphire laser and an optical parametric oscillator pumped by the Titanium:Sapphire laser. We found that the peak excitation of mCherry occurs at 1160 nm.  相似文献

The possibility of the phase control for the excitation of a quantum system in the discrete spectrum under the action of a short high-intensity laser pulse with a controlled phase is theoretically analyzed. The analysis is performed using the example of the simplest two-level system (TLS) employing a numerical solution to equations for the optical Bloch vector. It is demonstrated that the excitation probability and the mean dipole moment of the quantum system, which determine the normal luminescence and the superradiance in the TLS ensemble, respectively, substantially depend on the phase of the laser pulse for relatively short and powerful laser pulses.  相似文献

Time-resolved laser-induced optical properties of didymium (a mixture of neodymium and praseodymium) doped zinc oxide phosphors have been studied using nitrogen laser as an excitation source at room as well as at liquid nitrogen temperatures. A comparison of optical properties (oscillator strength and dipole-moment) at room temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature has been done and is reported in this article. It is found that oscillator strength and dipole-moment values for doped ZnO are increasing with decreasing temperature. The increasing trend of the optical parameters obtained at liquid nitrogen temperature of the doped phosphors indicates increase in efficiency.  相似文献

We present a detailed investigation of the noise properties of an optical frequency comb generated from a femtosecond diode-pumped solid-state laser operating in the 1.5-??m spectral region. The stabilization of the passively mode-locked Er:Yb:glass laser oscillator, referred to as ERGO, is achieved using pump power modulation for the control of the carrier envelope offset (CEO) frequency and by adjusting the laser cavity length for the control of the repetition rate. The stability and the noise of the ERGO comb are characterized in free-running and in phase-locked operation by measuring the noise properties of the CEO, of the repetition rate, and of a comb line at 1558?nm. The comb line is analyzed from the heterodyne beat signal with a cavity-stabilized ultra-narrow-linewidth laser using a frequency discriminator. Two different schemes to stabilize the comb to a radio-frequency (RF) reference are compared. The comb properties (phase noise, frequency stability) are limited in both cases by the RF oscillator used to stabilize the repetition rate, while the contribution of the CEO is negligible at all Fourier frequencies, as a consequence of the low-noise characteristics of the CEO-beat. A?linewidth of ??150?kHz and a fractional frequency instability of 4.2×10?13 at 1?s are obtained for an optical comb line at 1558?nm. Improved performance is obtained by stabilizing the comb to an optical reference, which is a cavity-stabilized ultra-narrow linewidth laser at 1558?nm. The fractional frequency stability of 8×10?14 at 1?s, measured in preliminary experiments, is limited by the reference oscillator used in the frequency comparison.  相似文献

We present a photonic crystal fiber (PCF)-based light source for generating tunable excitation pulses (pump and Stokes) that are applicable to coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microspectroscopy. The laser employed is an unamplified Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser oscillator. The CARS pump pulse is generated by spectral compression of a laser pulse in a PCF. The Stokes pulse is generated by redshifting a laser pulse in a PCF through the soliton self-frequency shift. This setup allows for probing up to 4000 cm(-1) with a spectral resolution of approximately 25 cm(-1). We characterize the stability and robustness of CARS microspectroscopy employing this light source.  相似文献

利用多组态求解相对论性的Hartree-Fock-Roothan方程(HFR)方法计算了类氖离子(Z=13~27)2s^22p^5—2s^22p^53s能级之间跃迁的原子参量,包括类氖氩激光系统的能级,振子强度,自发辐射衰变速率,能级寿命,电子碰撞激发截面及电子碰撞激发速率系数等。以类氖氩离子为例,分析了等离子体内46.9nm激光跃迁的粒子数反转的形成及谱线放大过程,讨论了其它几条谱线产生增益的可能性,分析了激光线振子强度随核电荷数的变化规律。根据获得的原子参量,计算了利用毛细管放电产生类氖氩和类氖氪x射线激光的放电参量,其中类氖氩毛细管放电的初始压强的范围为30~90Pa,放电电流峰值为10~50kA。理论计算结果为类氖氩x光激光实验分析,深入研究等离子体反转动力学,激光增益的估算及理论方案设计等提供了基本数据。  相似文献

针对减小相位式激光测距中的误差,介绍了一种基于现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)实现的全数字锁相环(ADPLL)控制系统的技术原理。此系统可以提高相位频率检测器的精度,同时不受温度和电压的影响,大幅降低相位式激光测距在测相过程中的频率误差。系统主要由数字鉴相器、数字滤波器和数字控制振荡器等逻辑设备组成,系统中的信号全部为数字信号。实验结果表明,当FPGA内部的参考信号为40 Hz时,采样周期为0.025 s,滤波器在300 ms达到约5 V的电压饱和状态。ADPLL系统避免了模拟电路中常常遇到的不全传输、寄生能力、温度浮动及老化等问题,并且可以在使用重置器件的情况下运行,因此很容易测试和复原。  相似文献
