Let R and S be two rings. Each category equivalence between a torsion class of left (right) R-modules and a torsion-free class of left (right) S-modules is represented by a left (right) quasi-tilting triple. Suppose we have a pair of equivalences T ? Y and X F between the torsion class T of R-modules and the torsion-free class Y of S-modules and between the torsion class X of S-modules and the torsion-free class F of R-modules. Denote by (R, V, S) and (S, U, R) the quasi-tilting triples representing these equivalences. We say that (R, V, S) and (S, U, R) are complementary if T, F) and X, Y) are torsion theories in R-Mod and S-Mod, respectively. We find necessary and sufficient conditions on the bimodules RVS and SUR to have the complementarity of (R, V, S) and (S, U, R).  相似文献

It is proved that (elementary) Chevalley groups G π(Φ,K) and G π′(Φ′,K′) (or E π(Φ,K) and E π′(Φ′,K′)) over infinite fields K and K′ of characteristic different from 2, with weight lattices Λ and Λ′, respectively, are elementarily equivalent if and only if the root systems Φ and Φ′ are isomorphic, the fields K and K′ are elementarily equivalent, and the lattices Λ and Λ′ coincide. __________ Translated from Fundamentalnaya i Prikladnaya Matematika, Vol. 12, No. 8, pp. 29–77, 2006.  相似文献

In this paper, the existence and nonexistence of finite travelling waves (FTWs) for a semilinear degenerate reaction-diffusion system is studied, where 0 < α i < 1, m ij ≥ 0 and ∑ N j =1 m ij > 0, i, j = 1,...,N. Necessary and sufficient conditions on existence and large time behaviours of FTWs of (I) are obtained by using the matrix theory, Schauder's fixed point theorem, and upper and lower solutions method. LetR be a ring, G a finite group of automorphisms acting on R, and RG the-fixed subring of R. We prove that if R is semiprime with no additive ¦ G¦-torsion, then R is left Goldie if and only if RG is left Goldie. By coupling this with an examination of the prime ideal structures of RG and R, we are able to prove that if ¦G ¦ is invertible in R and RG is left Noetherian, then R satisfies the-ascending chain condition on semiprime ideals, every semiprime factor ring of R is left Goldie, and nil subrings of R are nilpotent. For the pair RG and R, we also consider various other properties of prime and maximal ideals such as lying over, going up, going down, and incomparability.  相似文献

Let K n be the cone of positive semidefinite n X n matrices and let ? be an affine subspace of the space of symmetric matrices such that the intersection K n ∩? is nonempty and bounded. Suppose that n ≥ 3 and that \codim ? = r+2 \choose 2 for some 1 ≤ r ≤ n-2 . Then there is a matrix X ∈ K n ∩? such that rank X ≤ r . We give a short geometric proof of this result, use it to improve a bound on realizability of weighted graphs as graphs of distances between points in Euclidean space, and describe its relation to theorems of Bohnenblust, Friedland and Loewy, and Au-Yeung and Poon. For a given convex body K in with C 2 boundary, let P c n be the circumscribed polytope of minimal volume with at most n edges, and let P i n be the inscribed polytope of maximal volume with at most n edges. Besides presenting an asymptotic formula for the volume difference as n tends to infinity in both cases, we prove that the typical faces of P c n and P i n are asymptotically regular triangles and squares, respectively, in a suitable sense. Let X be a nonempty, convex and compact subset of normed linear space E (respectively, let X be a nonempty, bounded, closed and convex subset of Banach space E and A be a nonempty, convex and compact subset of X) and f:X×XR be a given function, the uniqueness of equilibrium point for equilibrium problem which is to find xX (respectively, xA) such that f(x,y)≥0 for all yX (respectively, f(x,y)≥0 for all yA) is studied with varying f (respectively, with both varying f and varying A). The results show that most of equilibrium problems (in the sense of Baire category) have unique equilibrium point.  相似文献

The h-super connectivity κh and the h-super edge-connectivity λh are more refined network reliability indices than the conneetivity and the edge-connectivity. This paper shows that for a connected balanced digraph D and its line digraph L, if D is optimally super edge-connected, then κ1(L) = 2λ1 (D), and that for a connected graph G and its line graph L, if one of κ1 (L) and λ(G) exists, then κ1(L) = λ2(G). This paper determines that κ1(B(d, n) is equal to 4d- 8 for n = 2 and d ≥ 4, and to 4d-4 for n ≥ 3 and d ≥ 3, and that κ1(K(d, n)) is equal to 4d- 4 for d 〉 2 and n ≥ 2 except K(2, 2). It then follows that B(d,n) and K(d, n) are both super connected for any d ≥ 2 and n ≥ 1.  相似文献

We investigate bounds for point energies, separation radius, and mesh norm of certain arrangements of N points on sets A from a class of d-dimensional compact sets embedded in Rd, 1dd. We assume that these points interact through a Riesz potential V=|·|-s, where s>0 and |·| is the Euclidean distance in . With and denoting, respectively, the separation radius and mesh norm of s-extremal configurations, which are defined to yield minimal discrete Riesz s-energy, we show, in particular, the following.(A) For the d-dimensional unit sphere and s<d-1, and, moreover, if sd-2. The latter result is sharp in the case s=d-2. In addition, point energies for s-extremal configurations are asymptotically equal. This observation relates to numerical experiments on observed scar defects in certain biological systems.(B) For and s>d, and the mesh ratio is uniformly bounded for a wide subclass of . We also conclude that point energies for s-extremal configurations have the same order, as N→∞.  相似文献

Let R be an associative ring with 1; A, B ⊴ R be its ideals; C(n, R, A) be the full congruence subgroup of level A in GL(n, R); and E(n, R, A) be the relative elementary subgroup of level A. We present a very easy proof of the following commutator formula: [E(n, R, A),C(n, R, B)] = [E(n, R, A), E(n, R, B)] for all commutative rings based exclusively on the absolute standard commutator formula and its non-commutative counterparts. This generalizes and strengethens Mason and Stothers’ results, our results, and those of Hazrat and Zhang. For comaximal ideals A + B = R, we show that this commutator is E(n, R, AB + BA).  相似文献
