The Convergence of γ^～s （b0hn - h1bn-1）

Abstract This paper computes the Thom map on γ₂ and proves that it is represented by 2b_2,0h_1,2 in the ASS. Existence of Simple OA_λ(3,5,v)′s

An orthogonal array of strength t,degree k,order v and index λ,denoted by OAλ(t,k,v),is a λvt× k array on a v symbol set such that each λvt× t subarray contains each t-tuple exactly λ times.An OAλ(t,k,v) is called simple and denoted by SOAλ(t,k,v)if it contains no repeated rows.In this paper,it is proved that the necessary conditions for the existence of an SOAλ(3,5,v) with λ≥ 2 are also sufficient with possible exceptions where v = 6 and λ∈ {3,7,11,13,15,17,19,21,23,25,29,33}.

λ-Automorphisms of a Riemannian foliation

We study geometric properties of -automorphisms of a Riemannian foliationF which is not harmonic. This notion was first introduced in [KTT] for the case whereF is harmonic. Transversal Killing, affine, conformal, projective fields are all examples of -automorphisms. We derive several general identities for a -automorphism. In particular, we extend the results on the transversal conformal and Killing fields obtained in [PrY], [NY1,2]. Furthermore, we analyse the geometric meaning of the condition appearing in our results.The present studies were supported (in part) by the Basic Science Research Institute Program, Ministry of Education, 1994, Project No. BSRI-94-1404     

A-Browder＇s Theorem and Generalized a-Weyl＇s Theorem

Two variants of the essential approximate point spectrum are discussed. We find for example that if one of them coincides with the left Drazin spectrum then the generalized a-Weyl＇s theorem holds, and conversely for a-isoloid operators. We also study the generalized a-Weyl＇s theorem for Class A operators.     

A simple proof of Ramanujan’s summation of the1ψ1

A simple proof by functional equations is given for Ramanujan’s₁ ψ ₁ sum. Ramanujan’s sum is a useful extension of Jacobi's triple product formula, and has recently become important in the treatment of certain orthogonal polynomials defined by basic hypergeometric series.
