This paper studies fractal properties of polar sets for random string processes. We give upper and lower bounds of the hitting probabilities on compact sets and prove some sufficient conditions and necessary conditions for compact sets to be polar for the random string process. Moreover, we also determine the smallest Hausdorff dimensions of non-polar sets by constructing a Cantor-type set to connect its Hausdorff dimension and capacity.  相似文献

In this paper, we study exhaustions, referred to as p-restrictions, of arbitrary nonelementary Kleinian groups with at most finitely many bounded parabolic elements. Special emphasis is put on the geometrically infinite case, where we obtain that the limit set of each of these Kleinian groups contains an infinite family of closed subsets, referred to as p-restricted limit sets, such that there is a Poincaré series and hence an exponent of convergence δp, canonically associated with every element in this family. Generalizing concepts which are well known in the geometrically finite case, we then introduce the notion of p-restricted Patterson measure, and show that these measures are non-atomic, δp-harmonic, δp-subconformal on special sets and δp-conformal on very special sets. Furthermore, we obtain the results that each p-restriction of our Kleinian group is of δp-divergence type and that the Hausdorff dimension of the p-restricted limit set is equal to δp.  相似文献

The main goal of this paper is to study the sample path properties for the harmonisable-type N-parameter multifractional Brownian motion, whose local regularities change as time evolves. We provide the upper and lower bounds on the hitting probabilities of an (N, d)-multifractional Brownian motion. Moreover, we determine the Hausdorff dimension of its inverse images, and the Hausdorff and packing dimensions of its level sets.  相似文献

The authors discuss the existence and classification of stable vector bundles of rank 3, with 2 3 or 4 linearly independent holomorphic sections. The sets of all such bundles are denoted by ω3^2,d and w3 respectively. Our argument leads to sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of both kinds of bundles. The conclusion is very interesting because of its contradiction to the conjectured dimension formula of stable bundles. Finally, we give a preliminary classification of ω3^2,4 and a complete discussion on the structure of ω3^3,2/3g+2.  相似文献

We analyze the local behavior of the Hausdorff centered measure for selfsimilar sets. If E is a self-similar set satisfying the open set condition, then Cs(E∩B(x,r)) ≤(2r)s for all x ∈ E and r 0, where Csdenotes the s-dimensional Hausdorff centered measure. The above inequality is used to obtain the upper bound of the Hausdorff centered measure. As the applications of above inequality, We obtained the upper bound of the Hausdorff centered measure for some self-similar sets with Hausdorff dimension equal to 1, and prove that the upper bound reach the exact Hausdorff centered measure.  相似文献

We are concerned with the sets of quasi generic points in finite symbolic space. We estimate the sizes of the sets by the Billingsley dimension defined by Gibbs measures. In a paper by Zhang and Chen et al.(see [11]), a conjecture was made concerning the minimum number of colors Xat(G) required in a proper total-coloring of G so that any two adjacent vertices have different color sets, where the color set of a vertex v is the set composed of the color of v and the colors incident to v. We find the exact values of Xat(G) and thus verify the conjecture when G is a Generalized Halin graph with maximum degree at least 6, A generalized Halin graph is a 2-connected plane graph G such that removing all the edges of the boundary of the exterior face of G (the degrees of the vertices in the boundary of exterior face of G are all three) gives a tree.  相似文献

Let Dn be the set of all signed permutations on [n] = {1,... ,n} with even signs, and let :Dn(T) be the set of all signed permutations in Dn which avoids a set T of signed patterns. In this paper, we find all the cardinalities of the sets Dn(T) where T B2. Some of the cardinalities encountered involve inverse binomial coefficients, binomial coefficients, Catalan numbers, and Fibonacci numbers.  相似文献

In [10], the notion of homogeneous perfect sets as a generalization of Cantor type sets is introduced and their Hausdorff and lower box-counting dimensions are studied. In this paper, we determine their exact packing and upper box-counting dimensions based on the length of their fundamental intervals and the gaps between them. This paper studies the self-similar fractals with overlaps from an algorithmic point of view.A decidable problem is a question such that there is an algorithm to answer"yes"or"no"to the question for every possible input.For a classical class of self-similar sets{E b.d}b,d where E b.d=Sn i=1(E b,d/d+b i)with b=(b1,...,b n)∈Qn and d∈N∩[n,∞),we prove that the following problems on the class are decidable:To test if the Hausdorff dimension of a given self-similar set is equal to its similarity dimension,and to test if a given self-similar set satisfies the open set condition(or the strong separation condition).In fact,based on graph algorithm,there are polynomial time algorithms for the above decidable problem.  相似文献

We study iterated function systems (IFSs) of contractive similitudes on Rd with overlaps. We introduce a generalized finite type condition which extends a more restrictive condition in [S.-M. Ngai, Y. Wang, Hausdorff dimension of self-similar sets with overlaps, J. London Math. Soc. (2) 63 (3) (2001) 655-672] and allows us to include some IFSs of contractive similitudes whose contraction ratios are not exponentially commensurable. We show that the generalized finite type condition implies the weak separation property. Under this condition, we can identify the attractor of the IFS with that of a graph-directed IFS, and by modifying a setup of Mauldin and Williams [R.D. Mauldin, S.C. Williams, Hausdorff dimension in graph directed constructions, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 309 (1988) 811-829], we can compute the Hausdorff dimension of the attractor in terms of the spectral radius of certain weighted incidence matrix.  相似文献

The interrelations between (upper and lower) Minkowski contents and (upper and lower) surface area based contents (S-contents) as well as between their associated dimensions have recently been investigated for general sets in Rd (cf. Rataj and Winter (in press) [6]). While the upper dimensions always coincide and the upper contents are bounded by each other, the bounds obtained in Rataj and Winter (in press) [6] suggest that there is much more flexibility for the lower contents and dimensions. We show that this is indeed the case. There are sets whose lower S-dimension is strictly smaller than their lower Minkowski dimension. More precisely, given two numbers s, m with 0<s<m<1, we construct sets F in Rd with lower S-dimension s+d−1 and lower Minkowski dimension m+d−1. In particular, these sets are used to demonstrate that the inequalities obtained in Rataj and Winter (in press) [6] regarding the general relation of these two dimensions are best possible.  相似文献

本文将欧氏空间Rd中形如[0,1]×Z的集称为Tyson型集,其中d>1,Z⊂Rd-1.已知当Z是Rd-1中的紧集时,Tyson型集是拟对称极小集.本文改进了这个结果,证明了当Z是Rd-1中的Borel集时,Tyson型集仍是拟对称极小集.作为应用,我们证明了Tyson型集三个形变版本的拟对称极小性,其中一个结果是:设Z是Rd-1中的任一Borel集,h:Z→R1是Borel函数,满足dimH({h≠0}∩Z)=dimH Z,则h的图G(h)是拟对称极小集,其中h的图G(h)定义为G(h)={(z,y):z∈Z,y∈[0,h(z)]}.  相似文献
