In this paper we investigate the solution of a complex standby system with constant waiting and different repairman criteria incorporating environmental failure. By using the method of functional analysis, especially, the C0C0 semigroup theory of bounded linear operators on Banach space, we prove the well-posedness and the existence of positive solution of the system. Under some appropriate hypothesis, we prove that the dynamic solution of the system converges its steady state in a stronger sense.  相似文献

In this work, we study the existence and regularity of solutions for some partial functional integrodifferential equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces. We suppose that the undelayed part admits a resolvent operator in the sense of Grimmer [R. Grimmer, Resolvent operators for integral equations in a Banach space, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society 273 (1982) 333–349]. The delayed part is assumed to be locally Lipschitz. Firstly, we show the existence of the mild solutions. Secondly, we give sufficient conditions ensuring the existence of strict solutions.  相似文献

We create a new, functional calculus, approach to approximation formulas for C0C0-semigroups on Banach spaces restricted to the domains of fractional powers of their generators. This approach allows us to equip the approximation formulas with rates which appear to be optimal in a natural sense. In the case of analytic semigroups, we improve our general results obtaining better convergence rates which are optimal in that case too. The setting of analytic semigroups includes also the case of convergence on the whole space. As an illustration of our approach, we deduce optimal convergence rates in classical approximation formulas for C0C0-semigroups restricted to the domains of fractional powers of their generators.  相似文献

We characterize the Banach spaces Y   for which certain subspaces of operators from L1(μ)L1(μ) into Y have the Bishop–Phelps–Bollobás property in terms of a geometric property of Y, namely AHSP. This characterization applies to the spaces of compact and weakly compact operators. New examples of Banach spaces Y with AHSP are provided. We also obtain that certain ideals of Asplund operators satisfy the Bishop–Phelps–Bollobás property.  相似文献

This paper studies the coincidence of the τωτω and τδτδ topologies on the space of holomorphic functions defined on an open subset U   of a Banach space. Dineen and Mujica proved that τω=τδτω=τδ when U   is a balanced open subset of a separable Banach space with the bounded approximation property. In this paper, we study the existence and asymptotic stability in the p-th moment of mild solutions of nonlinear impulsive stochastic partial functional integrodifferential equations with delays. We suppose that the linear part possesses a resolvent operator in the sense given in Grimmer [R. Grimmer, Resolvent operators for integral equations in a Banach space, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 273(1) (1982), 333–349] and the nonlinear terms are assumed to be Lipschitz continuous. A fixed point approach is employed for achieving the required result. We utilize the classical hypercircle method and the lowest-order Raviart–Thomas H(div)H(div) element to obtain a posteriori error estimates of the P1P1 finite element solutions for 2D Poisson's equation. A few other estimation methods are also discussed for comparison. We give some theoretical and numerical results to see the effectiveness of the methods.  相似文献

We develop global Hopf bifurcation theory of differential equations with state-dependent delay using the S1S1-equivariant degree and investigate a two-degree-of-freedom mechanical model of turning processes. For the model of turning processes we show that the extreme points of each vibration component of the non-constant periodic solutions can be embedded into a manifold with explicit algebraic expression. This observation enables us to establish analytical upper and lower bounds of the amplitudes of the periodic solutions in terms of the system parameters and to exclude certain periods. Using the achieved global bifurcation theory we reveal that if the relative frequency between the natural frequency and the turning frequency varies in a certain interval, then generically every bifurcated continuum of periodic solutions must terminate at a bifurcation point. This termination means that the underlying system with parameters in the stability region near the vertical asymptotes of the stability lobes is less subject to chatter. In the process, several sufficient conditions for the non-existence of non-constant periodic solutions are also obtained.  相似文献

In this work, we study the existence, uniqueness and exponential stability in mean square of mild solutions for some stochastic neutral partial functional integrodifferential equations with delays and Poisson jumps. Sufficient conditions for the existence and exponential stability in mean square of mild solutions are derived by means of the Banach fixed point principle. We suppose that the linear part has a resolvent operator in the sense given in Grimmer (Trans. Am. Math. Soc., 273(1):333–349, 1982). In the 1980s, Motorola, Inc. introduced its Six Sigma quality program to the world. Some quality practitioners questioned why the Six Sigma advocates claim it is necessary to add a 1.5σ shift to the process mean when estimating process capability. Bothe [Bothe, D.R., 2002. Statistical reason for the 1.5σ shift. Quality Engineering 14 (3), 479–487] provided a statistical reason for considering such a shift in the process mean for normal processes. In this paper, we consider gamma processes which cover a wide class of applications. For fixed sample size n, the detection power of the control chart can be computed. For small process mean shifts, it is beyond the control chart detection power, which results in overestimating process capability. To resolve the problem, we first examine Bothe’s approach and find the detection power is less than 0.5 when data comes from gamma distribution, showing that Bothe’s adjustments are inadequate when we have gamma processes. We then calculate adjustments under various sample sizes n and gamma parameter N, with power fixed to 0.5. At the end, we adjust the formula of process capability to accommodate those shifts which can not be detected. Consequently, our adjustments provide much more accurate capability calculation for gamma processes. For illustration purpose, an application example is presented.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a new family of measures of divergence for the analysis of the degree of departure from a model with a constant hazard function and also for comparing if two models have proportional hazard rates. Our family of measures is based on the family of divergences introduced by Burbea and Rao (see [J. Burbea, C.R. Rao, On the convexity of higher order Jensen differences based on entropy functions, IEEE Transactions on Information Theory 28 (1982) 961–963]). Some well-known sets of data are reanalyzed using the new families of test statistics and confidence intervals introduced in this paper.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence and regularity of solutions for a class of neutral partial functional integrodifferential equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces. We use the theory of resolvent operator developed in R. Grimmer (1982) [29] to show the existence of mild solutions. We give sufficient conditions ensuring the existence of strict solutions. The converse comparison theorem has received much attention in the theory of backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs). However, no such theorem has been proved for anticipated BSDEs. In this paper, we derive a converse comparison theorem by first giving an existence and uniqueness theorem for adapted solutions of anticipated BSDEs with a stopping time and then related to (f,δ)(f,δ)-expectations induced by anticipated BSDEs.  相似文献
