Let L be an elliptic differential operator with bounded measurable coefficients, acting in Bochner spaces Lp(Rn;X) of X -valued functions on Rn. We characterize Kato's square root estimates and the H-functional calculus of L in terms of R-boundedness properties of the resolvent of L, when X is a Banach function lattice with the UMD property, or a noncommutative Lp space. To do so, we develop various vector-valued analogues of classical objects in Harmonic Analysis, including a maximal function for Bochner spaces. In the special case X=C, we get a new approach to the Lp theory of square roots of elliptic operators, as well as an Lp version of Carleson's inequality.  相似文献

We generalize the Ap extrapolation theorem of Rubio de Francia to A weights in the context of Muckenhoupt bases. Our result has several important features. First, it can be used to prove weak endpoint inequalities starting from strong-type inequalities, something which is impossible using the classical result. Second, it provides an alternative to the technique of good-λ inequalities for proving Lp norm inequalities relating operators. Third, it yields vector-valued inequalities without having to use the theory of Banach space valued operators. We give a number of applications to maximal functions, singular integrals, potential operators, commutators, multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators, and multiparameter fractional integrals. In particular, we give new proofs, which completely avoid the good-λ inequalities, of Coifman's inequality relating singular integrals and the maximal operator, of the Fefferman-Stein inequality relating the maximal operator and the sharp maximal operator, and the Muckenhoupt-Wheeden inequality relating the fractional integral operator and the fractional maximal operator.  相似文献

We develop a generalized Littlewood-Paley theory for semigroups acting on Lp-spaces of functions with values in uniformly convex or smooth Banach spaces. We characterize, in the vector-valued setting, the validity of the one-sided inequalities concerning the generalized Littlewood-Paley-Stein g-function associated with a subordinated Poisson symmetric diffusion semigroup by the martingale cotype and type properties of the underlying Banach space. We show that in the case of the usual Poisson semigroup and the Poisson semigroup subordinated to the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup on Rn, this general theory becomes more satisfactory (and easier to be handled) in virtue of the theory of vector-valued Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators.  相似文献

We consider pseudodifferential operators with operator valued symbols a(x,ξ) acting on a UMD Banach space X. Assuming some regularity of Hölder type in x and Mihlin type in ξ we prove L p (? n ;X) boundedness of such operators. This result is then applied to the study of L p -maximal regularity for nonautonomous parabolic evolution equations.  相似文献

We give a new proof of a recent characterization by Diaz and Mayoral of compactness in the Lebesgue-Bochner spaces LXp, where X is a Banach space and 1≤ p<∞, and extend the result to vector-valued Banach function spaces EX, where E is a Banach function space with order continuous norm. We prove two characterizations of new Cohen summing bilinear operators. The first one is: Let X, Y and Z be Banach spaces, 1 < p < ∞, V : X × Y → Z a bounded linear operator and n ≥ 2 a natural number. Then V is new Cohen p-summing if and only if for all Banach spaces X1,?…?, Xn and all p-summing operators U : X1 × · · · × XnX, the operator V ? (U, IY) : X1 × · · · × Xn × YZ is -summing. The second result is: Let H be a Hilbert space,, Y, Z Banach spaces and V : H × Y → Z a bounded bilinear operator and 1 < p < ∞. Then V is new Cohen p-summing if and only if for all Banach spaces E and all p-summing operators U : EH, the operator V ? (U, IY) is (p, p*)-dominated.  相似文献

We present an extrapolation theory that allows us to obtain, from weighted Lp inequalities on pairs of functions for p fixed and all A weights, estimates for the same pairs on very general rearrangement invariant quasi-Banach function spaces with A weights and also modular inequalities with A weights. Vector-valued inequalities are obtained automatically, without the need of a Banach-valued theory. This provides a method to prove very fine estimates for a variety of operators which include singular and fractional integrals and their commutators. In particular, we obtain weighted, and vector-valued, extensions of the classical theorems of Boyd and Lorentz-Shimogaki. The key is to develop appropriate versions of Rubio de Francia's algorithm.  相似文献

We show that an anisotropic Mihlin-type condition on the symbol guarantees the boundedness of the associated Fourier multiplier operator on L p (R n ,X) for 1 < p < ∞ and an arbitrary UMD space X. In many cases, this result can be used as a substitute for the Marcinkiewicz–Lizorkin multiplier theorem, which is invalid in general UMD spaces. An application to anisotropic singular integrals is given. Mathematics Subject Classification (2000) 42B15, 42B20, 46E40  相似文献

After initial treatment of the Fourier analysis and operator ergodic theory of strongly continuous decomposable one-parameter groups of operators in the Banach space setting, we show that in the setting of a super-reflexive Banach space X these groups automatically transfer from the setting of R to X the behavior of the Hilbert kernel, as well as the Fourier multiplier actions of functions of higher variation on R. These considerations furnish one-parameter groups with counterparts for the single operator theory in Berkson (2010) [4]. Since no uniform boundedness of one-parameter groups of operators is generally assumed in the present article, its results for the super-reflexive space setting go well beyond the theory of uniformly bounded one-parameter groups on UMD spaces (which was developed in Berkson et al., 1986 [13]), and in the process they expand the scope of vector-valued transference to encompass a genre of representations of R that are not uniformly bounded.  相似文献

We construct a family (Xγ) of reflexive Banach spaces with long (countable as well as uncountable) transfinite bases but with no unconditional basic sequences. The method we introduce to achieve this allows us to considerably control the structure of subspaces of the resulting spaces as well as to precisely describe the corresponding spaces on non-strictly singular operators. For example, for every pair of countable ordinals γ,β, we are able to decompose every bounded linear operator from Xγ to Xβ as the sum of a diagonal operator and an strictly singular operator. We also show that every finite-dimensional subspace of any member Xγ of our class can be moved by and (4+?)-isomorphism to essentially any region of any other member Xδ or our class. Finally, we find subspaces X of Xγ such that the operator space L(X,Xγ) is quite rich but any bounded operator T from X into X is a strictly singular pertubation of a scalar multiple of the identity.  相似文献

We develop a theory of Malliavin calculus for Banach space-valued random variables. Using radonifying operators instead of symmetric tensor products we extend the Wiener-Itô isometry to Banach spaces. In the white noise case we obtain two sided Lp-estimates for multiple stochastic integrals in arbitrary Banach spaces. It is shown that the Malliavin derivative is bounded on vector-valued Wiener-Itô chaoses. Our main tools are decoupling inequalities for vector-valued random variables. In the opposite direction we use Meyer's inequalities to give a new proof of a decoupling result for Gaussian chaoses in UMD Banach spaces.  相似文献

Let X be a rearrangement invariant (r.i.) function space on [0,1]. We consider the Rademacher multiplicator space Λ(R,X) of measurable functions x such that xhX for every a.e. converging series h=∑anrnX, where (rn) are the Rademacher functions. We show that for a broad class of r.i. spaces X, the space Λ(R,X) is not r.i. In this case, we identify the symmetric kernel of the Rademacher multiplicator space and study when reduces to L. In the opposite direction, we find new examples of r.i. spaces for which Λ(R,X) is r.i. We consider in detail the case when X is a Marcinkiewicz or an exponential Orlicz space.  相似文献

In this paper we study continuity and invertibility of pseudodifferential operators with non-regular Banach space valued symbols. The corresponding pseudodifferential operators generate analytic semigroups on the Sobolev spaces W p k (? n , E) with k ∈ ?0, 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞. Here E is an arbitrary Banach space. We also apply the theory to solve non-autonomous parabolic pseudodifferential equations in Sobolev spaces.  相似文献

Let X be a topological space and let F be a filter on N, recall that a sequence (xn)nN in X is said to be F-convergent to the point xX, if for each neighborhood U of x, {nN:xnU}∈F. By using F-convergence in ?1 and in Banach spaces, we characterize the P-filters, the P-filters+, the weak P-filters, the Q-filters, the Q-filters+, the weak Q-filters, the selective filters and the selective+ filters.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space. We prove that, for a large class of Banach or quasi-Banach spaces E of X-valued sequences, the sets E-?qΓ?q(X), where Γ is any subset of (0,], and E-c0(X) contain closed infinite-dimensional subspaces of E (if non-empty, of course). This result is applied in several particular cases and it is also shown that the same technique can be used to improve a result on the existence of spaces formed by norm-attaining linear operators.  相似文献

We prove that if X and Y are compact Hausdorff spaces, then every fC(X × Y)+, i.e. f(x, y) ≥ 0 for all (x, y) ∈ X × Y, can be approximated uniformly from below and above by elements of the form , where fiC(X)+ and giC(Y)+ for i = 1, 2, …, n. The proof uses only elementary topology. We use this result, in conjuction with Kakutani's M-spaces representation theorem, to obtain an alternative proof for a known property of Fremlin's Riesz space tensor product of Archimedean Riesz spaces.  相似文献

The notion of R-bounded operator families has proven to be crucial to several aspects of vector-valued Harmonic Analysis and its applications to PDEs. Concrete and important R-bounded sets have been identified among operators acting on UMD Banach spaces, which in addition enjoy G. Pisier’s property (α). We prove the necessity of (α) for a number of conclusions of this kind, complementing analogous results of G. Lancien in the product-space theory of Fourier multipliers and H -calculus. Let (X,τ) be a topological space and let ρ be a metric defined on X. We shall say that (X,τ) is fragmented by ρ if whenever ε>0 and A is a nonempty subset of X there is a τ-open set U such that UA≠∅ and ρ−diam(UA)<ε. In this paper we consider the notion of fragmentability, and its generalisation σ-fragmentability, in the setting of topological groups and metric-valued function spaces. We show that in the presence of Baireness fragmentability of a topological group is very close to metrizability of that group. We also show that for a compact Hausdorff space X, σ-fragmentability of (C(X),‖⋅) implies that the space Cp(X;M) of all continuous functions from X into a metric space M, endowed with the topology of pointwise convergence on X, is fragmented by a metric whose topology is at least as strong as the uniform topology on C(X;M). The primary tool used is that of topological games.  相似文献

The main results of the paper are: (1) The boundedness of singular integral operators in the variable exponent Lebesgue spaces L p(·)(Γ, w) on a class of composed Carleson curves Γ where the weights w have a finite set of oscillating singularities. The proof of this result is based on the boundedness of Mellin pseudodifferential operators on the spaces Lp(·)(\mathbbR +,dm){L^{p(\cdot )}(\mathbb{R} _{+},d\mu)} where dμ is an invariant measure on multiplicative group ${\mathbb{R}_{+}=\left\{r\in \mathbb{R}:r >0 \right\}}${\mathbb{R}_{+}=\left\{r\in \mathbb{R}:r >0 \right\}}. (2) Criterion of local invertibility of singular integral operators with piecewise slowly oscillating coefficients acting on L p(·)(Γ, w) spaces. We obtain this criterion from the corresponding criteria of local invertibility at the point 0 of Mellin pseudodifferential operators on \mathbbR+{\mathbb{R}_{+}} and local invertibility of singular integral operators on \mathbbR{\mathbb{R}}. (3) Criterion of Fredholmness of singular integral operators in the variable exponent Lebesgue spaces L p(·)(Γ, w) where Γ belongs to a class of composed Carleson curves slowly oscillating at the nodes, and the weight w has a finite set of slowly oscillating singularities.  相似文献

We study maximal L p -regularity for a class of pseudodifferential mixed-order systems on a space–time cylinder \mathbbRn ×\mathbbR{\mathbb{R}^n \times \mathbb{R}} or X ×\mathbbR{X \times \mathbb{R}} , where X is a closed smooth manifold. To this end, we construct a calculus of Volterra pseudodifferential operators and characterize the parabolicity of a system by the invertibility of certain associated symbols. A parabolic system is shown to induce isomorphisms between suitable L p -Sobolev spaces of Bessel potential or Besov type. If the cross section of the space–time cylinder is compact, the inverse of a parabolic system belongs to the calculus again. As applications, we discuss time-dependent Douglis–Nirenberg systems and a linear system arising in the study of the Stefan problem with Gibbs–Thomson correction.  相似文献
