Let f be a complex-valued multiplicative function, letp denote a prime and let π(x) be the number of primes not exceeding x. Further put $$m_p (f): = \mathop {\lim }\limits_{x \to \infty } \frac{1}{{\pi (x)}}\sum\limits_{p \leqslant x} {f(p + 1)} {\text{, }}M(f): = \mathop {\lim }\limits_{x \to \infty } \frac{1}{x}\sum\limits_{n \leqslant x} {f(n)}$$ and suppose that $$\mathop {\lim \sup }\limits_{x \to \infty } \frac{1}{x}\sum\limits_{n \leqslant x} {\left| {f\left( n \right)} \right|^2 } < \infty ,\sum\limits_{p \leqslant x} {\left| {f\left( n \right)} \right|^2 } \ll x\left( {\ln x} \right)^{ - \varrho } ,$$ with some \varrho > 0. For such functions we prove: If there is a Dirichlet character χ_d such that the mean-value M(f χ_d) exists and is different from zero,then the mean-value m_p(f) exists. If the mean-value M(f) exists, then the same is true for the mean-valuem_p(f) .  相似文献

For the linear positive Korovkin operator \(f\left( x \right) \to {t_n}\left( {f;x} \right) = \frac{1}{\pi }\int_{ - \pi }^\pi {f\left( {x + t} \right)E\left( t \right)dt} \), where E(x) is the Egervary–Szász polynomial and the corresponding interpolation mean \({t_{n,N}}\left( {f;x} \right) = \frac{1}{N}\sum\limits_{k = - N}^{N - 1} {{E_n}\left( {x - \frac{{\pi k}}{N}} \right)f\left( {\frac{{\pi k}}{N}} \right)} \), the Jackson-type inequalities \(\left\| {{t_{n,N}}\left( {f;x} \right) - f\left( x \right)} \right\| \leqslant \left( {1 + \pi } \right){\omega _f}\left( {\frac{1}{n}} \right),\left\| {{t_{n,N}}\left( {f;x} \right) - f\left( x \right)} \right\| \leqslant 2{\omega _f}\left( {\frac{\pi }{{n + 1}}} \right)\), where ωf (x) denotes the modulus of continuity, are proved for N > n/2. For ωf (x) ≤ Mx, the inequality \(\left\| {{t_{n,N}}\left( {f;x} \right) - f\left( x \right)} \right\| \leqslant \frac{{\pi M}}{{n + 1}}\). is established. As a consequence, an elementary derivation of an asymptotically sharp estimate of the Kolmogorov width of a compact set of functions satisfying the Lipschitz condition is obtained.  相似文献

The well-known Bombieri-A. I. Vinogradov theorem states that (1) $$\sum\limits_{q \leqslant x^{\tfrac{1}{2}} (\log x)^{ - s} } {\mathop {\max }\limits_{(a,q) = 1} \mathop {\max }\limits_{y \leqslant x} } \left| {\psi (y,q;a) - \frac{y}{{\varphi (q)}}} \right| \ll \frac{x}{{(\log x)^A }},$$ whereA is an arbitrary positive constant,B=B(A)>0, and as usual, $$\psi (x,q;a) = \sum\limits_{\mathop {n \leqslant x}\limits_{n = a(q)} } {\Lambda (n),}$$ Λ being the Von Mangoldt's function. The problem of finding a result analogous to (1) for short intervals was investigated by many authors. Using Heath-Brown's identity and the approximate functional equation for DirichletL-functions, A. Perelli, J. Pintz and S. Salerno in 1985 established the following extension of Bombieri's theorem: Theorem 1. (2) $$\sum\limits_{q \leqslant Q} {\mathop {\max }\limits_{(a,q) = 1} \mathop {\max }\limits_{h \leqslant y} \mathop {\max }\limits_{\frac{x}{2}< \approx \leqslant x} } \left| {\psi (z + h,q;a) - \psi (z,q;a) - \frac{h}{{\varphi (q)}}} \right| \ll \frac{y}{{(\log x)^A }}$$ where A>0 is an arbitrary constant,y=x θ $$\frac{7}{{12}}< \theta \leqslant 1, Q = x^{\frac{1}{{40}}} .$$ ,Q=x 1/40. By improving the basic lemma which A. Perelli, J. Pintz and S. Salerno used as the main tool to prove Theorem 1, we obtain Theorem 2.Under the same condition as in Theorem 1,for Q=x 1/38.5, (2)still holds.  相似文献

Let {X n ; n≥1} be a sequence of independent copies of a real-valued random variable X and set S n =X 1+???+X n , n≥1. This paper is devoted to a refinement of the classical Kolmogorov–Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund strong law of large numbers. We show that for 0<p<2,
$\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{1}{n}\biggl(\frac{|S_{n}|}{n^{1/p}}\biggr)<\infty\quad \mbox{almost surely}$
if and only if
$\begin{cases}\mathbb{E}|X|^{p}<\infty &; \mbox{if }0 < p < 1,\\\mathbb{E}X=0,\ \sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{|\mathbb{E}XI\{|X|\leq n\}|}{n}<\infty,\mbox{ and }\\\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{\int_{\min\{u_{n},n\}}^{n}\mathbb{P}(|X|>t)\,dt}{n}<\infty &; \mbox{if }p = 1,\\\mathbb{E}X=0\mbox{ and }\int_{0}^{\infty}\mathbb{P}^{1/p}(|X|>t)\,dt<\infty,&;\mbox{if }1 < p < 2,\end{cases}$
where \(u_{n}=\inf \{t:~\mathbb{P}(|X|>t)<\frac{1}{n}\}\), n≥1. Versions of the above result in a Banach space setting are also presented. To establish these results, we invoke the remarkable Hoffmann-Jørgensen (Stud. Math. 52:159–186, 1974) inequality to obtain some general results for sums of the form \(\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}a_{n}\|\sum_{i=1}^{n}V_{i}\|\) (where {V n ; n≥1} is a sequence of independent Banach-space-valued random variables, and a n ≥0, n≥1), which may be of independent interest, but which we apply to \(\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{1}{n}(\frac{|S_{n}|}{n^{1/p}})\).

In this paper we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition on the sequence of natural numbers {q n } such that the almost everywhere convergence of the cubic partial sums S qn (x) of the multiple Haar series Σn a nχn(x) and the condition lim inf \(\lambda \cdot mes\left\{ {x:\begin{array}{*{20}{c}} {\sup } \\ n \end{array}\left| {S{}_{qn}\left( x \right)} \right| \succ \lambda } \right\} = 0\), imply that the coefficients a n can be uniquely determined by the sum of the series. Also, we have obtained a necessary and sufficient condition for the series \(\sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {{\varepsilon _n}{a_n}} {\chi _n}\left( x \right)\) with an arbitrary bounded sequence {ε n} to be a Fourier-Haar series of an A-integrable function.  相似文献

Let $h(t,x): = p.v. \sum\limits_{n \in Z\backslash \left| 0 \right|} {\frac{{e^{\pi i(tn^2 + 2xn)} }}{{2\pi in}}} = \mathop {\lim }\limits_{N \to \infty } \sum\limits_{0< \left| n \right| \leqslant N} {\frac{{e^{\pi i(tn^2 + 2xn)} }}{{2\pi in}}} $ ( $(i = \sqrt { - 1;} t,x$ -real variables). It is proved that in the rectangle $D: = \left\{ {(t,x):0< t< 1,\left| x \right| \leqslant \frac{1}{2}} \right\}$ , the function h satisfies the followingfunctional inequality: $\left| {h(t,x)} \right| \leqslant \sqrt t \left| {h\left( {\frac{1}{t},\frac{x}{t}} \right)} \right| + c,$ where c is an absolute positive constant. Iterations of this relation provide another, more elementary, proof of the known global boundedness result $\left\| {h; L^\infty (E^2 )} \right\| : = ess sup \left| {h(t,x)} \right|< \infty .$ The above functional inequality is derived from a general duality relation, of theta-function type, for solutions of the Cauchy initial value problem for Schrödinger equation of a free particle. Variation and complexity of solutions of Schrödinger equation are discussed.  相似文献

For a polynomial P(z) of degree n having no zeros in |z| < 1, it was recently proved in [9] that
$$\left| {{z^s}{P^{\left( s \right)}}\left( z \right) + \beta \frac{{n\left( {n - 1} \right)...\left( {n - s + 1} \right)}}{{{2^s}}}P\left( z \right)} \right| \leqslant \frac{{n\left( {n - 1} \right)...\left( {n - s + 1} \right)}}{2}\left( {\left| {1 + \frac{\beta }{{{2^s}}}} \right| + \left| {\frac{\beta }{{{2^s}}}} \right|} \right)\mathop {\max }\limits_{\left| z \right| = 1} \left| {P\left( z \right)} \right|$$
for every β ∈ C with |β| ≤ 1, 1 ≤ sn and |z| = 1. In this paper, we obtain the L p mean extension of the above and other related results for the sth derivative of polynomials.

We extend classical volume formulas for ellipsoids and zonoids to p-sums of segments $${vol}\left( {\sum\limits_{i=1}^m { \oplus_p } [ -x_i ,x_i ]} \right)^{1/n} \sim_{c_p} n^{ - \frac{1}{{p'}}} \left( {\sum\limits_{card(I) = n} {|\det (x_i)_i |^p}} \right)^{\frac{1}{{pn}}}$$ where x1,...,xm are m vectors in $\mathbb{R}^n ,\frac{1}{p} + \frac{1}{{p\prime }} = 1$ . According to the definition of Firey, the Minkowski p-sum of segments is given by $$\sum\limits_{i = 1}^m { \oplus _p [ - x_{i,} x_i ]} = \left\{ {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^m {\alpha _i } x_i \left| {\left( {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^m {|\alpha _i |^{p^\prime } } } \right)} \right.^{\frac{1}{{p^\prime }}} \leqslant 1} \right\}.$$ We describe related geometric properties of the Lewis maps associated to classical operator norms.  相似文献

We calculate the sharp bounds for some q-analysis variants of Hausdorff type inequalities of the form
$$\int_0^{ + \infty } {{{\left( {\int_0^{ + \infty } {\frac{{\phi \left( t \right)}}{t}f\left( {\frac{x}{t}} \right){d_q}t} } \right)}^p}{d_q}x} \leqslant {C_\phi }\int_0^b {{f^p}\left( t \right)} {d_q}t$$
. As applications, we obtain several sharp q-analysis inequalities of the classical positive integral operators, including the Hardy operator and its adjoint operator, the Hilbert operator, and the Hardy-Littlewood-Pólya operator.

In the space L 2(?2), we consider the operator
$H = \left( {\frac{1}{i}\frac{\partial }{{\partial x_1 }} - x_2 } \right)^2 + \left( {\frac{1}{i}\frac{\partial }{{\partial x_2 }} + x_1 } \right)^2 + V,V = V(x) \in L_2 (\mathbb{R}^2 ).$

where c 0 = π ?1 \(\smallint _{\mathbb{R}^2 } \) V(x) dx and the µ k (i) are the eigenvalues of H.

Let {Xni} be an array of rowwise negatively associated random variables and Tnk=k∑i=1 i^a Xni for a ≥ -1, Snk =∑|i|≤k Ф(i/nη)1/nη Xni for η∈(0,1],where Ф is some function. The author studies necessary and sufficient conditions of ∞∑n=1 AnP(max 1≤k≤n|Tnk|〉εBn)〈∞ and ∞∑n=1 CnP(max 0≤k≤mn|Snk|〉εDn)〈∞ for all ε 〉 0, where An, Bn, Cn and Dn are some positive constants, mn ∈ N with mn /nη →∞. The results of Lanzinger and Stadtmfiller in 2003 are extended from the i.i.d, case to the case of the negatively associated, not necessarily identically distributed random variables. Also, the result of Pruss in 2003 on independent variables reduces to a special case of the present paper; furthermore, the necessity part of his result is complemented.  相似文献

As a generalization to the heat semigroup on the Heisenberg group, the diffusion semigroup generated by the subelliptic operator L :=1/2 sum from i=1 to m X_i~2 on R~(m+d):= R~m× R~d is investigated, where X_i(x, y) = sum (σki?xk) from k=1 to m+sum (((A_lx)_i?_(yl)) from t=1 to d,(x, y) ∈ R~(m+d), 1 ≤ i ≤ m for σ an invertible m × m-matrix and {A_l}_1 ≤ l ≤d some m × m-matrices such that the Hrmander condition holds. We first establish Bismut-type and Driver-type derivative formulas with applications on gradient estimates and the coupling/Liouville properties, which are new even for the heat semigroup on the Heisenberg group; then extend some recent results derived for the heat semigroup on the Heisenberg group.  相似文献

In this paper we establish the following estimate:
$$\omega \left( {\left\{ {x \in {\mathbb{R}^n}:\left| {\left[ {b,T} \right]f\left( x \right)} \right| > \lambda } \right\}} \right) \leqslant \frac{{{c_T}}}{{{\varepsilon ^2}}}\int_{{\mathbb{R}^n}} {\Phi \left( {{{\left\| b \right\|}_{BMO}}\frac{{\left| {f\left( x \right)} \right|}}{\lambda }} \right){M_{L{{\left( {\log L} \right)}^{1 + \varepsilon }}}}} \omega \left( x \right)dx$$
where ω ≥ 0, 0 < ε < 1 and Φ(t) = t(1 + log+(t)). This inequality relies upon the following sharp L p estimate:
$${\left\| {\left[ {b,T} \right]f} \right\|_{{L^p}\left( \omega \right)}} \leqslant {c_T}{\left( {p'} \right)^2}{p^2}{\left( {\frac{{p - 1}}{\delta }} \right)^{\frac{1}{{p'}}}}{\left\| b \right\|_{BMO}}{\left\| f \right\|_{{L^p}\left( {{M_{L{{\left( {{{\log }_L}} \right)}^{2p - 1 + {\delta ^\omega }}}}}} \right)}}$$
where 1 < p < ∞, ω ≥ 0 and 0 < δ < 1. As a consequence we recover the following estimate essentially contained in [18]:
$$\omega \left( {\left\{ {x \in {\mathbb{R}^n}:\left| {\left[ {b,T} \right]f\left( x \right)} \right| > \lambda } \right\}} \right) \leqslant {c_T}{\left[ \omega \right]_{{A_\infty }}}{\left( {1 + {{\log }^ + }{{\left[ \omega \right]}_{{A_\infty }}}} \right)^2}\int_{{\mathbb{R}^n}} {\Phi \left( {{{\left\| b \right\|}_{BMO}}\frac{{\left| {f\left( x \right)} \right|}}{\lambda }} \right)M} \omega \left( x \right)dx.$$
We also obtain the analogue estimates for symbol-multilinear commutators for a wider class of symbols.

In this paper, we consider the logarithmically improved regularity criterion for the supercritical quasi-geostrophic equation in Besov space \(\dot B_{\infty ,\infty }^{ - r}\left( {{\mathbb{R}^2}} \right)\). The result shows that if θ is a weak solutions satisfies
$$\int_0^T {\frac{{\left\| {\nabla \theta ( \cdot ,s)} \right\|_{\dot B_{\infty ,\infty }^{ - r} }^{\tfrac{\alpha }{{\alpha - r}}} }}{{1 + \ln \left( {e + \left\| {\nabla ^ \bot \theta ( \cdot ,s)} \right\|_{L^{\tfrac{2}{r}} } } \right)!}}ds < \infty for some 0 < r < \alpha and 0 < \alpha < 1,}$$
then θ is regular at t = T. In view of the embedding \({L^{\frac{2}{r}}} \subset M_{\frac{2}{r}}^p \subset \dot B_{\infty ,\infty }^{ - r}\) with \(2 \leqslant p < \frac{2}{r}\) and 0 ≤ r < 1, we see that our result extends the results due to [20] and [31].

Under the proposed procedure functions are decomposed into their intrinsic components of successively increasing non-negative analytic instantaneous frequencies, whilst fast convergence is resumed. The purpose of this paper is threefold. First, we prove sharp singular affine Moser–Trudinger inequalities on both bounded and unbounded domains in \({\mathbb {R}}^{n}\). In particular, we will prove the following much sharper affine Moser–Trudinger inequality in the spirit of Lions (Rev Mat Iberoamericana 1(2):45–121, 1985) (see our Theorem 1.4): Let \(\alpha _{n}=n\left( \frac{n\pi ^{\frac{n}{2}}}{\Gamma (\frac{n}{2}+1)}\right) ^{\frac{1}{n-1}}\), \(0\le \beta <n\) and \(\tau >0\). Then there exists a constant \(C=C\left( n,\beta \right) >0\) such that for all \(0\le \alpha \le \left( 1-\frac{\beta }{n}\right) \alpha _{n}\) and \(u\in C_{0}^{\infty }\left( {\mathbb {R}}^{n}\right) \setminus \left\{ 0\right\} \) with the affine energy \(~{\mathcal {E}}_{n}\left( u\right) <1\), we have
$$\begin{aligned} {\displaystyle \int \nolimits _{{\mathbb {R}}^{n}}} \frac{\phi _{n,1}\left( \frac{2^{\frac{1}{n-1}}\alpha }{\left( 1+{\mathcal {E}}_{n}\left( u\right) ^{n}\right) ^{\frac{1}{n-1}}}\left| u\right| ^{\frac{n}{n-1}}\right) }{\left| x\right| ^{\beta }}dx\le C\left( n,\beta \right) \frac{\left\| u\right\| _{n}^{n-\beta }}{\left| 1-{\mathcal {E}}_{n}\left( u\right) ^{n}\right| ^{1-\frac{\beta }{n}}}. \end{aligned}$$
Moreover, the constant \(\left( 1-\frac{\beta }{n}\right) \alpha _{n}\) is the best possible in the sense that there is no uniform constant \(C(n, \beta )\) independent of u in the above inequality when \(\alpha >\left( 1-\frac{\beta }{n}\right) \alpha _{n}\). Second, we establish the following improved Adams type inequality in the spirit of Lions (Theorem 1.8): Let \(0\le \beta <2m\) and \(\tau >0\). Then there exists a constant \(C=C\left( m,\beta ,\tau \right) >0\) such that
$$\begin{aligned} \underset{u\in W^{2,m}\left( {\mathbb {R}}^{2m}\right) , \int _{ {\mathbb {R}}^{2m}}\left| \Delta u\right| ^{m}+\tau \left| u\right| ^{m} \le 1}{\sup } {\displaystyle \int \nolimits _{{\mathbb {R}}^{2m}}} \frac{\phi _{2m,2}\left( \frac{2^{\frac{1}{m-1}}\alpha }{\left( 1+\left\| \Delta u\right\| _{m}^{m}\right) ^{\frac{1}{m-1}}}\left| u\right| ^{\frac{m}{m-1}}\right) }{\left| x\right| ^{\beta }}dx\le C\left( m,\beta ,\tau \right) , \end{aligned}$$
for all \(0\le \alpha \le \left( 1-\frac{\beta }{2m}\right) \beta (2m,2)\). When \(\alpha >\left( 1-\frac{\beta }{2m}\right) \beta (2m,2)\), the supremum is infinite. In the above, we use
$$\begin{aligned} \phi _{p,q}(t)=e^{t}- {\displaystyle \sum \limits _{j=0}^{j_{\frac{p}{q}}-2}} \frac{t^{j}}{j!},\,\,\,j_{\frac{p}{q}}=\min \left\{ j\in {\mathbb {N}} :j\ge \frac{p}{q}\right\} \ge \frac{p}{q}. \end{aligned}$$
The main difficulties of proving the above results are that the symmetrization method does not work. Therefore, our main ideas are to develop a rearrangement-free argument in the spirit of Lam and Lu (J Differ Equ 255(3):298–325, 2013; Adv Math 231(6): 3259–3287, 2012), Lam et al. (Nonlinear Anal 95: 77–92, 2014) to establish such theorems. Third, as an application, we will study the existence of weak solutions to the biharmonic equation
$$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{l} \Delta ^{2}u+V(x)u=f(x,u)\text { in }{\mathbb {R}}^{4}\\ u\in H^{2}\left( {\mathbb {R}}^{4}\right) ,~u\ge 0 \end{array} \right. , \end{aligned}$$
where the nonlinearity f has the critical exponential growth.
