Let G be a group and let φ(G) be the least integer k such that G(k) = G(k+1). If no such k exists, then φ(G) = ∞ and we write G ∈ 𝒰. We are interested in the questions which Coxeter groups are in 𝒰 and how large can finite φ(G) be for Coxeter groups. The second author answered these questions for 3-generator and 4-generator Coxeter groups. This article begins the study for the 5-generator case.  相似文献

Let 𝒴 be a smooth connected manifold, Σ ? ? an open set and (σ, y) → 𝒫 y (σ) a family of unbounded Fredholm operators D ? H 1 → H 2 of index 0 depending smoothly on (y, σ) ∈ 𝒴 × Σ and holomorphically on σ. We show how to associate to 𝒫, under mild hypotheses, a smooth vector bundle 𝒦 → 𝒴 whose fiber over a given y ∈ 𝒴 consists of classes, modulo holomorphic elements, of meromorphic elements φ with 𝒫 y φ holomorphic. As applications we give two examples relevant in the general theory of boundary value problems for elliptic wedge operators.  相似文献

A notion of mutation of subcategories in a right triangulated category is defined in this article. When (𝒵, 𝒵) is a 𝒟-mutation pair in a right triangulated category 𝒞, the quotient category 𝒵/𝒟 carries naturally a right triangulated structure. Moreover, if the right triangulated category satisfies some reasonable conditions, then the right triangulated quotient category 𝒵/𝒟 becomes a triangulated category. When 𝒞 is triangulated, our result unifies the constructions of the quotient triangulated categories by Iyama-Yoshino and by Jørgensen, respectively.  相似文献

We improve an almost sure invariance principle for f-mixing sequences of real random variables with finite (2 + δ)th moment (0 < δ 2) due to Berkes and Philipp (1979). The exponent of the slow logarithmic rate of mixing in that theorem is relaxed from 160/δ to (1 + ε)(1 + 2/δ) and the undetermined quantities aN are replaced by Nσ2 for some σ > 0.  相似文献

In this work we analyze p-groups of class 2 G and H, with same rational group algebras. We prove that if QG = QH, then their commutators are equal and the centers, 𝒵(G) and 𝒵(H), have their orders preserved. We apply our results to Frattini Central p-groups, and we present an example of two groups of order p 7, with no isomorphic centers and different central cyclic components intersecting the cyclic components of the respective commutators groups.  相似文献

We show that the Miura map L 2(𝕋) → H ?1(𝕋), r?r x  + r 2 is a global fold and then apply our results on global well-posedness of KdV in H ?1(𝕋) to show that mKdV is globally well-posed in L 2(𝕋).  相似文献

Let 𝔪 and 𝔫 be two-sided ideals of a Leibniz algebra 𝔤 such that 𝔤 = 𝔪 + 𝔫. The goal of the paper is to achieve the exact sequence Ker(𝔪  𝔫 + 𝔫  𝔪 → 𝔤) → HL 2(𝔤) → HL 2(𝔤/𝔪) ⊕ HL 2(𝔤/𝔫) → 𝔪 ∩ 𝔫/ [𝔪,𝔫] → HL 1(𝔤) → HL 1(𝔤/𝔪) ⊕ HL 1(𝔤/𝔫) → 0, where HL denotes the Leibniz homology with trivial coefficients of a Leibniz algebra and denotes a non-abelian tensor product of Leibniz algebras.  相似文献

For a positive semidefinite biquadratic forms F in (3, 3) variables, we prove that, if F has a finite number but at least 7 real zeros 𝒵(F), then it is not a sum of squares. We show also that if F has at least 11 zeros, then it has infinitely many real zeros and it is a sum of squares. It can be seen as the counterpart for biquadratic forms as the results of Choi, Lam, and Reznick for positive semidefinite ternary sextics.

We introduce and compute some of the numbers BB n, m which are set to be equal to sup |𝒵(F)| where F ranges over all the positive semidefinite biquadratic forms F in (n, m) variables such that |𝒵(F)| < ∞.

We also recall some old constructions of positive semidefinite biquadratic forms which are not sums of squares and we give some new families of examples.  相似文献

A weak Cayley table isomorphism is a bijection φ:GH of groups such that φ(xy)~φ(x)φ(y) for all x,yG. Here ~ denotes conjugacy. When G = H the set of all weak Cayley table isomorphisms φ:GG forms a group 𝒲(G) that contains the automorphism group Aut(G) and the inverse map I:GG,x?x?1. Let 𝒲0(G) = ?Aut(G),I?≤𝒲(G) and say that G has trivial weak Cayley table group if 𝒲(G) = 𝒲0(G). We show that PSL(2,pn) has trivial weak Cayley table group, where p≥5 is a prime and n≥1.  相似文献

Let 𝔤 be a finite-dimensional complex semisimple Lie algebra and σ an arbitrary semisimple automorphism of 𝔤. Let 𝔱 be a Cartan subalgebra of 𝔨 = 𝔤σ and 𝔥 =Z 𝔤(𝔱) be the centralizer of 𝔱 in 𝔤. Then 𝔥 is a σ-invariant Cartan subalgebra of 𝔤 and 𝔱 = 𝔥σ. Let W(𝔤, 𝔥) be the Weyl group. One knows that Δ(𝔤, 𝔱), the set of roots of 𝔤 in 𝔱, is also a root system. It is proved that the corresponding Weyl group W(𝔤, 𝔱) is isomorphic to W(𝔤, 𝔥)σ, which is the subgroup of W(𝔤, 𝔥) consisting of those elements commuting with σ. It is also shown that the image of the restriction map S(𝔥*) W(𝔤, 𝔥) → S(𝔱*) W(𝔨, 𝔱), where S(𝔥*) and S(𝔱*) are the polynomial algebras on 𝔥 and 𝔱, respectively, is exactly S(𝔱*) W(𝔤, 𝔱). Based on the above result, we also get a complete classification of the pairs (𝔤, σ) such that 𝔤σ is noncohomologous to zero in 𝔤.  相似文献

We provide several inequalities for the ? q (𝒫)-norm of the Wick product of random variables. These estimates are based on a Jensen's type inequality for the Wick multiplication, which we derive via a positivity argument. As an application we study a certain type of anticipating stochastic differential equation whose solution is shown to be an element of ? q (𝒫) for some q ≥ 1.  相似文献

Let H be a hereditary algebra of Dynkin type D n over a field k and 𝒞 H be the cluster category of H. Assume that n ≥ 5 and that T and T′ are tilting objects in 𝒞 H . We prove that the cluster-tilted algebra Γ = End𝒞 H (T)op is isomorphic to Γ′ = End𝒞 H (T′)op if and only if T = τ i T′ or T = στ j T′ for some integers i and j, where τ is the Auslander–Reiten translation and σ is the automorphism of 𝒞 H defined in Section 4.  相似文献

An analogue of the Wedderburn Principal Theorem (WPT) is considered for finite-dimensional Jordan superalgebras 𝔍 with solvable radical 𝒩, 𝒩 2 = 0, and such that , where 𝔽 is a field of characteristic zero. It is proved that the WPT is valid under some restrictions over the irreducible -bimodules contained in 𝒩, and it is shown with counterexamples that these restrictions cannot be weakened.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The study of modules over a finite von Neumann algebra 𝒜 can be advanced by the use of torsion theories. In this work, some torsion theories for 𝒜 are presented, compared, and studied. In particular, we prove that the torsion theory (T, P) (in which a module is torsion if it is zero-dimensional) is equal to both Lambek and Goldie torsion theories for 𝒜.

Using torsion theories, we describe the injective envelope of a finitely generated projective 𝒜-module and the inverse of the isomorphism K 0(𝒜) → K 0 (𝒰), where 𝒰 is the algebra of affiliated operators of 𝒜. Then the formula for computing the capacity of a finitely generated module is obtained. Lastly, we study the behavior of the torsion and torsion-free classes when passing from a subalgebra ? of a finite von Neumann algebra 𝒜 to 𝒜. With these results, we prove that the capacity is invariant under the induction of a ?-module.  相似文献

Let Q be a m × m real matrix and f j  : ? → ?, j = 1, …, m, be some given functions. If x and f(x) are column vectors whose j-coordinates are x j and f j (x j ), respectively, then we apply the finite dimensional version of the mountain pass theorem to provide conditions for the existence of solutions of the semilinear system Qx = f(x) for Q symmetric and positive semi-definite. The arguments we use are a simple adaptation of the ones used by Neuberger. An application of the above concerns partial difference equations on a finite, connected simple graph. A derivation of a graph 𝒢 is just any linear operator D:C 0(𝒢) → C 0(𝒢), where C 0(𝒢) is the real vector space of real maps defined on the vertex set V of the graph. Given a derivation D and a function F:V × ? → ?, one has associated a partial difference equation  = F(v,μ), and one searches for solutions μ ∈ C 0(𝒢). Sufficient conditions in order to have non-trivial solutions of partial difference equations on any finite, connected simple graph for D symmetric and positive semi-definite derivation are provided. A metric (or weighted) graph is a pair (𝒢, d), where 𝒢 is a connected finite degree simple graph and d is a positive function on the set of edges of the graph. The metric d permits to consider some classical derivations, such as the Laplacian operator ?2. In (Neuberger, Elliptic partial difference equations on graphs, Experiment. Math. 15 (2006), pp. 91–107) was considered the nonlinear elliptic partial difference equations ?2 u = F(u), for the metric d = 1.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that any nontrivial normal subgroup N of 𝒱-nilpotent group G, intersects nontrivially with the marginal subgroup of G with respect to the variety 𝒱. This is a generalization of a well-known theorem by Philip Hall which refers to the case where 𝒱 is the variety of abelian groups. Moreover, we give a generalized version of a 5-term exact sequence of homology groups and establish some isomorphisms of the factors of the lower marginal series.  相似文献
