Let L be a finite-dimensional complex simple Lie algebra, L ? be the ?-span of a Chevalley basis of L, and L R  = R ?? L ? be a Chevalley algebra of type L over a commutative ring R with identity. Let ?(R) be the solvable subalgebra of L R spanned by the basis elements of the maximal toral subalgebra and the root vectors associated with positive roots. In this article, we prove that under some conditions for R, any automorphism of ?(R) is uniquely decomposed as a product of a graph automorphism, a diagonal automorphism and an inner automorphism, and any derivation of ?(R) is uniquely decomposed as a sum of an inner derivation induced by root vectors and a diagonal derivation. Correspondingly, the automorphism group and the derivation algebra of ?(R) are determined.  相似文献

Let 𝒜 be a ring, let ? be an 𝒜-bimodule, and let 𝒞 be the center of ?. A map F:𝒜 → ? is said to be range-inclusive if [F(x), 𝒜] ? [x, ?] for every x ∈ 𝒜. We show that if 𝒜 contains idempotents satisfying certain technical conditions (which we call wide idempotents), then every range-inclusive additive map F:𝒜 → ? is of the form F(x) = λx + μ(x) for some λ ∈ 𝒞 and μ:𝒜 → 𝒞. As a corollary we show that if 𝒜 is a prime ring containing an idempotent different from 0 and 1, then every range-inclusive additive map from 𝒜 into itself is commuting (i.e., [F(x), x] = 0 for every x ∈ 𝒜).  相似文献

We denote by 𝒜(R) the class of all Artinian R-modules and by 𝒩(R) the class of all Noetherian R-modules. It is shown that 𝒜(R) ? 𝒩(R) (𝒩(R) ? 𝒜(R)) if and only if 𝒜(R/P) ? 𝒩(R/P) (𝒩(R/P) ? 𝒜(R/P)), for all centrally prime ideals P (i.e., ab ∈ P, a or b in the center of R, then a ∈ P or b ∈ P). Equivalently, if and only if 𝒜(R/P) ? 𝒩(R/P) (𝒩(R/P) ? 𝒜(R/P)) for all normal prime ideals P of R (i.e., ab ∈ P, a, b normalize R, then a ∈ P or b ∈ P). We observe that finitely embedded modules and Artinian modules coincide over Noetherian duo rings. Consequently, 𝒜(R) ? 𝒩(R) implies that 𝒩(R) = 𝒜(R), where R is a duo ring. For a ring R, we prove that 𝒩(R) = 𝒜(R) if and only if the coincidence in the title occurs. Finally, if Q is the quotient field of a discrete valuation domain R, it is shown that Q is the only R-module which is both α-atomic and β-critical for some ordinals α,β ≥ 1 and in fact α = β = 1.  相似文献

For any field 𝕂 and integer n ≥ 2, we consider the Leavitt algebra L 𝕂(n); for any integer d ≥ 1, we form the matrix ring S = M d (L 𝕂(n)). S is an associative algebra, but we view S as a Lie algebra using the bracket [a, b] = ab ? ba for a, b ∈ S. We denote this Lie algebra as S ?, and consider its Lie subalgebra [S ?, S ?]. In our main result, we show that [S ?, S ?] is a simple Lie algebra if and only if char(𝕂) divides n ? 1 and char(𝕂) does not divide d. In particular, when d = 1, we get that [L 𝕂(n)?, L 𝕂(n)?] is a simple Lie algebra if and only if char(𝕂) divides n ? 1.  相似文献

Let R be a semiprime ring with center Z(R), extended centroid C, U the maximal right ring of quotients of R, and m a positive integer. Let f: R → U be an additive m-power commuting map. Suppose that f is Z(R)-linear. It is proved that there exists an idempotent e ∈ C such that ef(x) = λx + μ(x) for all x ∈ R, where λ ∈C and μ: R → C. Moreover, (1 ? e)U ? M2(E), where E is a complete Boolean ring. As consequences of the theorem, it is proved that every additive, 2-power commuting map or centralizing map from R to U is commuting.  相似文献

The commuting graph of a ring R, denoted by Γ(R), is a graph whose vertices are all noncentral elements of R, and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy = yx. The commuting graph of a group G, denoted by Γ(G), is similarly defined. In this article we investigate some graph-theoretic properties of Γ(M n (F)), where F is a field and n ≥ 2. Also we study the commuting graphs of some classical groups such as GL n (F) and SL n (F). We show that Γ(M n (F)) is a connected graph if and only if every field extension of F of degree n contains a proper intermediate field. We prove that apart from finitely many fields, a similar result is true for Γ(GL n (F)) and Γ(SL n (F)). Also we show that for two fields F and E and integers n, m ≥ 2, if Γ(M n (F))?Γ(M m (E)), then n = m and |F|=|E|.  相似文献

Let R be a right Ore domain and φ a derivation or an automorphism of R. We determine the right Martindale quotient ring of the Ore extension R[t; φ] (Theorem 1.1). As an attempt to generalize both the Weyl algebra and the quantum plane, we apply this to rings R such that k[x] ? R ? k(x), where k is a field and x is a commuting variable. The Martindale Quotient quotient ring of R[t; φ] and its automorphisms are computed. In this way, we obtain a family of non-isomorphic infinite dimensional simple domains with all their automorphisms explicitly described.  相似文献

For any ring R, the set 𝒩(R) of all natural classes of R-modules is a complete Boolean lattice, which is a direct sum of two convex and complete Boolean sublattices 𝒩(R) = 𝒩 t (R) ⊕ 𝒩 f (R), where the last summand is the set of all nonsingular natural classes. The ring R contains a unique lattice of ideals 𝒥(R) which is lattice isomorphic to 𝒩 f (R). The present note develops the analogue of all of the above for an arbitrary R-module M, so that in the special case when M R  = R R , the known lattice isomorphism 𝒥(R) ? 𝒩 f (R) is recovered.  相似文献

The commuting graph of a ring R, denoted by Γ(R), is a graph of all whose vertices are noncentral elements of R, and 2 distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy = yx. In this article we investigate some graph-theoretic properties of Γ(kG), where G is a finite group, k is a field, and 0 ≠ |G| ∈k. Among other results it is shown that if G is a finite nonabelian group and k is an algebraically closed field, then Γ(kG) is not connected if and only if |G| = 6 or 8. For an arbitrary field k, we prove that Γ(kG) is connected if G is a nonabelian finite simple group or G′ ≠ G″ and G″ ≠ 1.  相似文献

Let ? be a prime ring, 𝒞 the extended centroid of ?, ? a Lie ideal of ?, F be a nonzero generalized skew derivation of ? with associated automorphism α, and n ≥ 1 be a fixed integer. If (F(xy) ? yx) n  = 0 for all x, y ∈ ?, then ? is commutative and one of the following statements holds:

(1) Either ? is central;

(2) Or ? ? M 2(𝒞), the 2 × 2 matrix ring over 𝒞, with char(𝒞) = 2.  相似文献

Abstract

Given a contravariant functor F : 𝒞 → 𝒮ets for some category 𝒞, we say that F (𝒞) (or F) is generated by a pair (X, x) where X is an object of 𝒞 and x ∈ F(X) if for any object Y of 𝒞 and any y ∈ F(Y), there is a morphism f : Y → X such that F(f)(x) = y. Furthermore, when Y = X and y = x, any f : X → X such that F(f)(x) = x is an automorphism of X, we say that F is minimally generated by (X, x). This paper shows that if the ring R is left noetherian, then there exists a minimal generator for the functor ?xt (?, M) : ? → 𝒮ets, where M is a left R-module and ? is the class (considered as full subcategory of left R-modules) of injective left R-modules.  相似文献

We construct the endofunctor 𝔲𝔠𝔢 between the category of Leibniz algebras which assigns to a perfect Leibniz algebra its universal central extension, and we obtain the isomorphism 𝔲𝔠𝔢Lie(𝔮Lie) ? (𝔲𝔠𝔢Leib(𝔮))Lie, where 𝔮 is a perfect Leibniz algebra satisfying the condition [x, [x, y]] + [[x, y], x] = 0, for all x, y ∈ 𝔮. Moreover, we obtain several results concerning the lifting of automorphisms and derivations in a covering. We also study the relationship between the universal central extension of a semidirect product of perfect Leibniz algebras and the semidirect product of the universal central extension of both of them.  相似文献

In this paper, we will show that if (R, 𝔪) is a quasi-unmixed local ring, I an 𝔪-primary ideal of R and ?𝒱(I) is the set of Rees valuations of I, then the number of minimal prime ideals in the 𝔪-adic completion of R equals exactly the number of equivalence classes on the set ?𝒱(I) under the equivalence relation ~defined by: ν1 ~ ν2 if there exist a constant c ≥ 1 such that for all x ∈ R, ν1(x) ≤ cν2(x) and ν2(x) ≤ cν1(x).  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. Various generalizations of prime ideals have been studied. For example, a proper ideal I of R is weakly prime (resp., almost prime) if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? {0} (resp., ab ∈ I ? I 2) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. Let φ:?(R) → ?(R) ∪ {?} be a function where ?(R) is the set of ideals of R. We call a proper ideal I of R a φ-prime ideal if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? φ(I) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. So taking φ?(J) = ? (resp., φ0(J) = 0, φ2(J) = J 2), a φ?-prime ideal (resp., φ0-prime ideal, φ2-prime ideal) is a prime ideal (resp., weakly prime ideal, almost prime ideal). We show that φ-prime ideals enjoy analogs of many of the properties of prime ideals.  相似文献

Let Γ be a non-abelian group and Ω ? Γ. We define the commuting graph G = 𝒞(Γ, Ω) with vertex set Ω and two distinct elements of Ω are joined by an edge when they commute in Γ. In this article, among some properties of commuting graphs, we investigate distant properties as well as detour distant properties of commuting graph on D2n. We also study the metric dimension of commuting graph on D2n and compute its resolving polynomial.  相似文献

A weak Cayley table isomorphism is a bijection φ: G → H of groups such that φ(xy) ~ φ(x)φ(y) for all x, y ∈ G. Here ~denotes conjugacy. When G = H the set of all weak Cayley table isomorphisms φ: G → G forms a group 𝒲(G) that contains the automorphism group Aut(G) and the inverse map I: G → G, x → x ?1. Let 𝒲0(G) = ?Aut(G), I? ≤ 𝒲(G) and say that G has trivial weak Cayley table group if 𝒲(G) = 𝒲0(G). We show that all finite irreducible Coxeter groups (except possibly E 8) have trivial weak Cayley table group, as well as most alternating groups. We also consider some sporadic simple groups.  相似文献

The commuting graph of a ring R, denoted by Γ(R), is a graph whose vertices are all noncentral elements of R and two distinct vertices are joint by an edge whenever they commute. It is conjectured that if R is a ring with identity such that Γ(R) ≈ Γ(M n (F)), for a finite field F and n ≥ 2, then RM n (F). Here we prove this conjecture when n = 2.  相似文献

A ring R is simple under a set D of derivations if no nontrivial ideal of R is preserved by all derivations in D. Continuing previous joint work with C. J. Maxson, the author provides a computational test for the simplicity of k[x 1,…,x n ]/〈 x 1 p ,…, x n p 〉 (k a field of characteristic p > 0) under a set of commuting k-derivations. Specific rings are then examined for sets of commuting derivations, especially those under which the ring is simple. The possible sizes and minimality of such sets are also determined in particular cases.  相似文献
