Gorenstein Injective and Gorenstein Flat Resolution of Modules Over Gorenstein Rings

Abstract

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring. There are several characterizations of Gorenstein rings in terms of classical homological dimensions of their modules. In this paper, we use Gorenstein dimensions (Gorenstein injective and Gorenstein flat dimension) to describe Gorenstein rings. Moreover a characterization of Gorenstein injective (resp. Gorenstein flat) modules over Gorenstein rings is given in terms of their Gorenstein flat (resp. Gorenstein injective) resolutions.     

n-Strongly Gorenstein Projective,Injective and Flat Modules

In this article, we study the relation between m-strongly Gorenstein projective (resp., injective) modules and n-strongly Gorenstein projective (resp., injective) modules whenever m ≠ n, and the homological behavior of n-strongly Gorenstein projective (resp., injective) modules. We introduce the notion of n-strongly Gorenstein flat modules. Then we study the homological behavior of n-strongly Gorenstein flat modules, and the relation between these modules and n-strongly Gorenstein projective (resp., injective) modules.     

Gorenstein Injective Dimension for Complexes and Iwanaga–Gorenstein Rings

The main purpose of this article is to present some applications of the notion of Gorenstein injective dimension of complexes over an associative ring. Among the applications, we give some new characterizations of Iwanaga–Gorenstein rings. In particular, we show that an associative ring R is Iwanaga–Gorenstein if and only if the class of complexes of Gorenstein injective dimension less than or equal to zero and the class of complexes of finite projective dimension are orthogonal complement of each other with respect to the ‘Ext’ functor.     

Gorenstein Modules over Zariski Filtered Rings

Abstract

We study Gorenstein injective and projective modules over Zariski filtered rings and obtain relations between the Gorenstein dimensions on the category of filtered modules from the associated category of graded modules over the associated graded ring.     

On (Strongly) Gorenstein Von Neumann Regular Rings

In this article, we introduce and study the rings over which every module is (strongly) Gorenstein flat, which we call them (strongly) Gorenstein Von Neumann regular rings.     

Gorenstein Injective and Gorenstein Flat Dimensions Under Base Change

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate some connections between Gorenstein flat and Gorenstein injective dimensions of complexes over different rings.     

Gorenstein derived functors

Over any associative ring it is standard to derive using projective resolutions in the first variable, or injective resolutions in the second variable, and doing this, one obtains in both cases. We examine the situation where projective and injective modules are replaced by Gorenstein projective and Gorenstein injective ones, respectively. Furthermore, we derive the tensor product using Gorenstein flat modules.

Transfer of Gorenstein dimensions along ring homomorphisms

A central problem in the theory of Gorenstein dimensions over commutative noetherian rings is to find resolution-free characterizations of the modules for which these invariants are finite. Over local rings, this problem was recently solved for the Gorenstein flat and the Gorenstein projective dimensions; here we give a solution for the Gorenstein injective dimension. Moreover, we establish two formulas for the Gorenstein injective dimension of modules in terms of the depth invariant; they extend formulas for the injective dimension due to Bass and Chouinard.     

Gorenstein Analogue of Auslander's Theorem on the Global Dimension

In this paper, we prove that the Gorenstein analogue of the well-known Auslander's theorem on the global dimension holds true. Namely, we prove that the Gorenstein global dimension of a commutative ring R is equal to the supremum of the set of Gorenstein projective dimensions of all cyclic R-modules.

On L-R Smash Products of Hopf Algebras

Let H be a Hopf algebra and A an H-bimodule algebra. This article investigates homological dimensions and Gorenstein dimensions of L-R smash products A?H. Several well-known results are generalized. Moreover, we explore the stability of Gorenstein projective (flat) precovers and Gorenstein injective preenvelopes between the category of left A-modules and the category of left A?H-modules.     

Ω-Gorenstein Projective and Flat Covers and Ω-Gorenstein Injective Envelopes

Abstract

In this paper, we show that if R is a local Cohen–Macaulay ring admitting a dualizing module Ω, then Ω-Gorenstein projective and flat covers and Ω-Gorenstein injective envelopes exist for certain modules. These results generalize the well known results for local Gorenstein rings.     

Coherent rings with finite self-FP-injective dimension

In this paper, we generalize the characterization of Gorenstein flat modules over Gorenstein rings to n ? FC rings (coherent rings with finite sdf?FP?injective dimension), and characterize n ? FC rings in terms of Gorenstein flat and projective modules.     

Gorenstein Modules and Dualizing Modules

In this article, we study the characterizations of Gorenstein injective left S-modules and finitely generated Gorenstein projective left R-modules when there is a dualizing S-R-bimodule associated with a right noetherian ring R and a left noetherian ring S.     

Gorenstein categories and Tate cohomology on projective schemes

We study Gorenstein categories. We show that such a category has Tate cohomological functors and Avramov–Martsinkovsky exact sequences connecting the Gorenstein relative, the absolute and the Tate cohomological functors. We show that such a category has what Hovey calls an injective model structure and also a projective model structure in case the category has enough projectives. As examples we show that if X is a locally Gorenstein projective scheme then the category ??????(X) of quasi‐coherent sheaves on X is such a category and so has these features. Gorenstein injective envelopes and covers over two sided noetherian rings

We prove that the class of Gorenstein injective modules is both enveloping and covering over a two sided noetherian ring such that the character modules of Gorenstein injective modules are Gorenstein flat. In the second part of the paper we consider the connection between the Gorenstein injective modules and the strongly cotorsion modules. We prove that when the ring R is commutative noetherian of finite Krull dimension, the class of Gorenstein injective modules coincides with that of strongly cotorsion modules if and only if the ring R is in fact Gorenstein.
